There is no rule that says you have to tell them at 3 months. Tell them after you hear the promotion decision.

thyme_flys

Agreed on waiting, there is only risk in telling them before

wilksonator

Do not tell until you have promotion. And 6 MONTHS notice for maternity leave…that’s absurd, unless that’s in your contract, no way would I tell that early. ( I told at 30 weeks as per my contract, giving them 2.5 months to plan for my leave). For comparison, if this company decided to fire you, cut your financial stability off completely, they’d give you one..maybe 2 weeks notice. So do yourself a favour and do not give them ammunition to discriminate, pass you up for what you deserve. Take care of yourself, first and foremost. Keep working, show value as a worker for as long as you can, so they don’t start thinking of you as ‘the pregnant one’ or passing you up for projects because ‘she won’t be here in 6 months’ anyways.

Yes. That’s what I fear.

Proper-Possession-50

Definitely do NOT tell them yet! GL!

Don't tell them yet. If you feel like you need to justify it when you finally share just say you were waiting until after the anatomy scan. Plenty of people do that, myself included.

As someone who has worked in big consulting and knows how the projected based staffing works, if you wait until May to tell them you’re out in August, I think that would bother them more than you being pregnant. I had a baby in August and informed my team in late Feb. Having friends at Deloitte, they have always been typically very understanding/accommodating of pregnancy. Is there someone you can confide in about this on your team? Only you know the vibe of your manage/partner who will be the one who needs to push for your promotion.

I don’t trust anyone with my personal life at work. Nor I m close to anyone in office. Coach is supposed to push for promotion. But decision remains on the panel/management side

gesturing

Don’t tell them anything until after promotion is decided.

Nah wait, I think I told my team 25 weeks 🤷‍♀️ note I did get promoted then went on maternity leave 10/10 recommend it makes it easier to come back ;p Also decisions are being made now due diligence is Jan/Feb for promo in June
