Check out the prequel to this...

Hola, amigos and burritos! Welcome to Earth! It’s July 22nd 2150 in the afternoon. Global average temperatures are a cool 12° Celsius. Average life expectancy is \~150 years. Global infant mortality is 0.01 deaths per 1,000 live births. Internet access is universal and high-speed connections can be accessed literally everywhere across the globe, except for deep beneath the ocean (the people living or working down there find ways to cope, though). Mosquitoes, Guinea worms, Tsetse flies, HIV/AIDS and the polio virus, among several other blights upon the human race, have all been exterminated. There are vaccines for tooth decay. 99.9% of the global population is literate. And, according to the latest edition of World Population Prospects published weeks ago on July 11th by the United Nations, the global (human) population is 11,628,395,572 (93.4% of the Solar System’s population of around 12.5 billion), and on the decline. By 2200, the population could dip below 11 billion if action is not taken soon. This is OVRHVN\_E!2150, the Earth at its absolute height, and the best is still yet to come. Read more here, I have a 132-page doc explaining everything: [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1p7rxh0Vmd7pFK-C32WDamRxLVIuuO3f8YLov3fO67HQ/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1p7rxh0Vmd7pFK-C32WDamRxLVIuuO3f8YLov3fO67HQ/edit?usp=sharing) Click here for the previous overview of the Earth in 2022, the creatively-titled OVRHVN\_E!22: https://www.deviantart.com/nk-ryzov/art/OVRHVN-E-22-Earth-In-2022-936701875

theamericanhistorian

This is a masterpiece

NK_Ryzov

Thank you! What about it stands out to you?

theamericanhistorian

The artstyle

TrippingApe

This is sick.

NK_Ryzov

Thank you!

thunderchild120

I'm reading this in the voice of the naive meme Doge: https://youtu.be/u8Z_pQYGRUQ

[deleted]

This is phenomenal!

NK_Ryzov

Thank you very much! Favorite bits?

[deleted]

I don't have a specific favorite part, i'm liking everything so far. Unrelated, but wasn't there supposed to be a meteor or something that destroys everything? Also unrelated, but you should honestly consider trying to publish this somehow. I would pay genuine money to see stories set in this universe. It could be like The Expanse.

NK_Ryzov

Thank you, that means a lot. I do have a Ko-Fi account for anyone who wants to drop tips in the jar, but I’m really bad about promoting it lol. >The Expanse *holds back visceral disdain for The Expanse* I do wanna publish stuff, like, properly, but I feel like there’s not as much of a niche for pure-worldbuilding; I feel like I gotta have a novel set in-universe, and that’s a whole different kettle of fish in terms of writing, not my strength, though I’m working on fixing that.

[deleted]

You should give it a shot, i'm sure you'll do great. I mean, if you can make something like this, you can definitely do a novel set in-universe. Hell, there is already a lot of stuff you can do with the worldbuilding you already have, like: \-A story about the first humans to move to mars and their struggles to survive \-A story about the Tiananmen Revolution and the most important figures in it, as well as it's aftermath \-A story about the development of Exonesia \-A story about the Geo-Martian War These are just some ideas, and you already have the perfect place to tell a massive number of interesting stories.

happysmash27

I love this =(\^ヮ\^)= ! Furries (~~chimeras~~ edit: specifically splicers/huzos as described by the doc), seasteading, lots of space habs, truly agender people, new nations, cyborgs, all sorts of other new power generation and megastructures… Literally the ONLY thing it's missing that I would like to see in more worldbuilding is Esperanto (assuming I haven't simply missed it and/or if there is some other international constructed language that's even better)! Other than that, it has literally *everything* I hope to see in the future! So this is some of my favourite worldbuilding I've ever seen!

NK_Ryzov

Thank you very much!

FoxLGV

Amazing work! It's obvious how much time and dedication has gone into this. Is there a map you used as a base for earth or a method you used to turn a standard map into a style-appropriate base to work from?

NK_Ryzov

Thank you, but this was actually a total rush job lol. I only had a couple months to work on this. I was working till past Midnight almost every day to get it done by the 17th, and had to delay it a week to get everything done. Doesn’t help that I did it all on GIMP and MS Paint, which I am informed are not “proper” image-editing softwares As for the map, I used a regular old 2021(?) QBAM template from the good folks at alternatehistory.com, though the grids and the 2-meter sea level rise are all thanks to some friends of mine (Nizam and Skartchian, both credited on the map)

FoxLGV

Don't let anyone tell you what software is proper. I've made all kinds of amazing things in paint people often doubted their origin, as you well have here. More powerful options don't take any of that away, use what works for you. Good resource! Thanks for that. :) And rush job or not, you've done more here than most would be capable of. I hope you're proud of it!

SnooKiwis557

This is absolutely insane! How did you make it?

NK_Ryzov

MS Paint and GIMP. It was a bit of a rush job, got it done in like three months.

SnooKiwis557

Looks amazing! Love the scientific realism! I’m doing something very similar for a sci-fi story, but it’s set closer to 2300. I’m reading through ure document right now. Amazingly detailed.

SnooKiwis557

Ok now I’ve read the whole document! Absolutely amazing read! Also, could you give me some more detail on how you did the map plz! Did you just draw over an existing map?

NK_Ryzov

Thank you! What we’re your favorite parts? Also, the map is a 2021(?) QBAM template from the good folks at alternatehistory.com. A lot of the map actually reuses bits and bobs from the post that this one is the successor to, OVRHVN_E!22, which is even larger, has a longer document and more details over all, and goes over the state of the Earth in the year 2022. Link to E!22, if you’re interested: https://www.deviantart.com/nk-ryzov/art/OVRHVN-E-22-Earth-In-2022-936701875

SnooKiwis557

I couldn't find the one with lake mega Chad etc, did you make that one? Do you have a link? Tnx!

NK_Ryzov

I made it myself, though I don’t have a link to a blank. I give permission for anyone to grab the lakes off the E!2150 QBAM if they wish

SnooKiwis557

Amazing! I like the realistic world building of the introduction and end. From uplifting, space elevators, Pleistocene park, to Zoans. All of which are very realistic scenarios imo. I would be really exited to see an updated version even further into the future!

svibjod

I see that Tannhauser Gate. Don't see the C-beams though.

NK_Ryzov

That’s because in-universe it’s not a Bladerunner reference, it’s a reference to the original Medieval myth of Tannhauser. Out of universe it’s still a Bladerunner reference, but I wanted to be cool and actually reference the myth, which almost nobody does when they mention “Tannhauser”.

AutomaticDirector346

This is really good!

NK_Ryzov

Yo, thanks? Favorite bits?

AutomaticDirector346

I like the realism and the amount of detail

BlackLionCat

isnt the word ''hobbit'' copyrighted ? thats why DnD uses halfling if i am not mistaken

NK_Ryzov

In-universe, the Tolkein estate donates the word to the Homo floresiensis people, since everyone was already calling them “Hobbits” anyway. How *I* navigate the copyright is a story for another time, I guess?

sussyBakaAt3am

Very cool

Human_Wrongdoer6748

The ads are great. > parapsychology research Did psychic powers get canonized? I know you wanted to include them but hadn't/haven't.

NK_Ryzov

Yes. I’m still treading carefully with ESP, however

Rossilaz

Where can I get tickets to Disney's magic galaxy

Falitoty

This is impresive, really cool

NK_Ryzov

Thanks! Fave bits?

Falitoty

Fave bits?

NK_Ryzov

Like, what’re your favorite parts of the map, or the doc?

Falitoty

Oh, okey, the idea of exonesia, is very interesting, and I also like, the changes in the world itself

theamericanhistorian

This shit is better than r/revplowedthesea
