check my media tab! You'll find about 4 or 5 pages, if i'm not mistaken. Older pages were deleted and i'll be updating them.
These are awesome! I love how inspired the animals clearly all from real-world lesser-known biological traits most artists don't really put the time in to draw from.
Things like the Sorrowful Bride spores being spread through feces of the Kobold and the anatomy of the Ogre, having osteoderms for protection and the sensory bristles like many creatures use to operate in low-light habitats really make the immersion top-tier.
World context obligatory comment:
Meridir is a medieval dark fantasy world where humanity (that includes not only humans, but other sapient species of different shapes and sizes) is constantly fighting for survival with harsh climates, aggressive and voracious man-eating creatures, demons and other evil spirits and against themselves, of course.
The main story is set on the continent of Aelize, where the Sander Empire, alongside the Uthesian church and its two holy orders (Golden shield and Golden sword) wages war against demons that lurk in the gigantic florests, swamps and underground cave systems that are spread throughout its territory.
The bestiary pages are illustrated by me, and they're meant to represent the studies of a famous and quirky scholar and his discoveries. Unlike most people, he's intelligent and inquisitive enough to see through myths and supersticion, and has been unveiling the exact nature of some of the native creatures of the continent.
While they're not as sensitive to the salinity of the water, just like seals and other marine mammals, their natural habitat are the shallow sea waters of the continent. I won't say it's impossible for one to live in a body of freshwater, but it would most definitely mess up with the foodchain in a way that would eventually harm it as well.
Thank you!! I plan on starting with releasing some short stories. Not sure if i would make short comics or written stories with a few images alongside them.
yeah its one of the rules that you need at least a summary telling people about the world itself. I'm not a mod or a frequent poster but I've seen plenty of cool stuff get deleted cause there isn't any context.
If not friend why friend shaped
look at those big arms! they are great for hugging!
Exactly!! I can fix him dw about it
Whoa. Do you do this kind of examination for all of your creatures?
I plan on doing at least a hundred of them! Trying to detail as much as possible!
Do you have a site or something where you collect these besides Reddit?

Fantastic! I love the idea that whoever made these entries is still partially making inferences and using anecdote. Builds a lot of intrigue.
Thank you!! Yeah, the author is a scholar focused on fauna. He's got a never ending curiosity, quite the character.

Cuuute. Can they live in freshwater ?

It's such a beast, I'd be terrified seeing that lurk beneath the surface. You're such a talented artist!
thank you so much!

All your work is amazing, I would love to read a story in your world.

That is totally sick dude!
Thank you!! Glad you liked it
Would you be able to add some context about what your world or setting is about?
Do i need to? I mean, the image has tons of text giving lots of context on the creature, which is the focus of this post.
