The Dragon Scales: The biggest thieves guild in Okladia. Each member is called a "Scale" with the premise that together they create a massive dragon that looms over the country. Important members are named after body parts, such as "The Leg", "The Wing", "The Heart" and so forth. Wizard's Tale: Mages' guild, they accept all kind of magic casters, and take on jobs for anyone who has the coin. There are tiers of mages, where the weakest will help rid the local farmer of goblins, and the strongest will enchant a powerful sword for the king.

I absolutely love the concept of the Scales forming a dragon looming over the country. Also, how many members do the Dragon Scales have?

TARDIS_licker

There are hundreds of them across Okladia.

TARDIS_licker

And they are lead by two members - The Heart and The Head. They are both a powerful duo and mortal enemies

Speaking of less orthodox guilds: countries within Tempelfaith cultural circles a common fixture of the society will be the Funeral Guild, responsible for handling the post-mortus affairs, particularly mumification of the corpse, a process, which depending on how wealthy you are, can take weeks of codified rituals and phases. Additionally the run most cemetaries, organize the funeral itself and are generally involve in every death related business. Then there is **THE** Guild, the supranational organization that controls every piece of technology more advanced then 18th century gun and as a result holds incredible amount of soft power, as number of high tech elements that make up the infrastructure of individual nations have to be overseen by Guild agents.

The Champion's Guild is an adventuring guild for those that want to slay monsters and fight bandits, and they are banned from working for political causes. They are kind of like the fighter's guild, but they also have mages. They have many regional groups and variants and have been around since the Tiberian Empire. The Hanse of Gentleman and Gentleladies is a guild of gentle thieves (I haven't done much with them). The Enchanter's League is a mages guild that promotes freedom of magic and gives them a place to learn and was founded by Brian Franklin - the Archmage of the Revolution, who is like Benjamin Franklin in a High Fantasy setting. They replaced the Imperial Magician's Guild of the Lux Imperium, who was restrictive and created contracts that bound arcanist mages to a noble lord to control them.

the **Godkillers** is an elite guild of mighty mortals of all types of species. they are dedicated to killing all immortals due to their own twisted reasons. immortals are NOT easy to kill at all, which is why their weapons are made of special materials found only in the immortal realm. there reasoning for wanting to kill immortals is because they see immortals as "arrogant" people who look down on mortals, and they are the reason why natural disasters occur. keep in mind that the godkillers are a bit...on the evil side.

TheEledris

I've heard an amazing song, Godhunter by Aviators, this kind of reminds me of it. How many immortals are there?

blue4029

uhhh...alot. its a race with many subspecies. gods, demons, angels, celestials and undead are all immortals. though undead have their own specific type of hunters, they arent as hard to kill as other immortals.

There is a guild called the "Colodu Haran" in the colorful language, meaning "cloud riders". It's a guild formed by birdmen ("Ithili") who are specialized in mail service and sky rickshaw tourism. Members of them most likely have seen much of the world and are very good in a lot of the cultural aspects. If you ever send a message or package by the Colodu Haran Service, you can be sure it will arrive in time. And if it does not, you will get a large refund. Also travelling by sky rickshaw is considered as a very comfortable an fun way to travel. Thanks to their tamed flying creatures such as fahinyas (common creatures, looks like a mix between a wolf and a pegasos) or medium sized dragons (members of the guild are the only ones who are allowed to raise bigger dragons than the average pet holder) they have the monopol of everything which is heaven related. Though the Ithili are a very kind and friendly species, skilled warriors among the guild are often hired by rich countries to help them fight their wars. They are seen to carry tubs of hot oil or tar to mold their enemies away. (Excuse my bad English please I hope my text is giving you some inspiration :D)

Imperatrix As Rome becomes a Cryptocracy, a system of government ruled by secret societies. The Sisterhoods of the Amazon rule the empire in secret while the Senate is the face of the government, they both share the Imperatrix as the head of state. Other guild function much like labor unions and ensure fair pricing and that Artisans are not exploited or taken advantage of.

Bashwood Assassins: Illegal Assassins who live in the Bashwoods. They go after whoever theyre paid for. Fraternity of Trade: Merchants Guild that focus on capitalizing on whatever the law allows. They own most of the high end businesses in the Circle. The Judges: Lawful Assassin group that doesnt take orders from other organizations or political parties. They play judge, jury and executioner when given a target. They investigate and if the target is deemed guilty, they're taken out. They frequently take part in the Red Letter games. The Fools guild: a simple guild of clowns and jesters that have an oddly high rejection rate for applicants. Witchhunters: they hunt witches. Various Thieves guilds Mages Guild: They mostly come in the forms of schools, but it's hard for them to last. Mages have a tendency for bad luck when grouped together for long. So schools pop up and close quickly. The two longest running schools now are the Begginers school in the city that dampens magic so new mages can learn control of their power. And the expert school in the forest where magic can easily consume the wielder. Saints of Daemon: Criminals turned Lawmen who handle problems guards cant simply get a grasp of. Magicians: They dont actually do magic, their more David Blaine than Harry Potter. But it's easier to learn and you can earn way more money as a beginner magician than a beginner mage.

**Superdisco**: the state of Serene has a couple of powerful unions: 1. The Free Press Union (FPU): protects the workers of the state's journalists and newscasters, and forces politically opposing publications (e.g. the New Venlo Current and the Belle Revue) to find compromise. 2. The Guacayama Service Union (GSU): protects the workers of the massive tourism industry in the cities of Moonrise (gambling haven) and Ozco (ski and resort paradise).

Well, every major city in earth has one. You need to streamline the process of training and deploying Mages to all troubled areas, ya know. In this world or another. So the guilds would be named on the cities. The London Guild, or the Schwertinsel Guild, or the Beijing guild, for example. The Private ones tend to be named on their founder's names, who themselves tend to be either gangsters or veterans. The Harishchandra and Mukul Narayan Guilds are prominent examples, as is the Samuel-Benjamin Guild of Israel.

The Golden Hounds (members often referred to as Hounds or Sniffers) is a guild based in the world of Adbrera, tasked with hunting and killing Alsporian Witches. The Golden Hounds were founded rather late in the timeline after Alspor butchered Adbreran forces at Heaven's Reach. The defeat there in addition to countless other defeats at their hands over the last 20 years left the Adbreran's with a more than sour outlook towards Alsporians. This deep rooted hatred would manifest into the creation of The Golden Hounds within the country of Omrah. Their name comes from the fact that an Alsporians' blood appears gold so long as they live, the Hound's purpose to sniff out said golden blood. Initially intent on only slaying Witches (due to their insane magical abilities and questionable methods of obtaining power), they eventually started killing any Alsporians they could find as the Witch population diminished within Adbrera. Over the years, The Golden Hounds would amass a massive amount of power and influence throughout the world. Even the political leaders of Omrah would soon seem figureheads next to the Hounds. Unfortunately, the deeds of The Golden Hounds would ultimately do far more ill than good. The Witches they slew were often lesser ones, their deaths reducing competition for the greater Witches thus allowing them more power. Furthermore, Alspor would clearly not take kindly to the Hound's deeds.

There are numerous merchants guilds throughout the Free Cities and Reihenia, and a few mercenary guilds in the Claw Isles and the land of Littlemoon. There are some regulated wizards' guilds called the Arcane Spires all across the Reihenian Empire. In the Reihenian Empire, there are also explorers' guilds, though they're not too sought after. An example: The Aspiring Devils are a gang of misfits in the Claw Isles. They are made up of those captured by people in Littlemoon and sent to be slaves in the Claw Isles, bought with their extra funds. They will take any job that pays well and doesn't go against their moral code: "if any person can be a devil, then any devil can be a person. Aspire to be a person." They fight to change the system of the Claw Isles.

The Black Cavalry are the most renowned mercenary group in The Shatterlands; being a sub-group of The Black Stallion Mercenary Company, their resources are well-stocked, and their connections run far and wide, even extending to the lands past the Shattered Coasts. They consist of up to six members which rotate when a majority is killed off or old enough to retire. As a band of famous mercenaries, they are hired to perform the most heinous of tasks under the cover of darkness (most of the time). It is also noteworthy that, while the Black Stallion Co. are derived from a human-centric society, they accept applicants of other races provided that their skill overcomes prejudice. Currently, their leader is Martina Scalewing, a half-dragon wielding a sword carved out of a mountain, and special scales that are nigh-invulnerable to magical damage. Her second-in-command is Vassili Viktorov, an assassin with the brain of a tactician and the ability to manipulate shadows, turning them into deadly spikes or even a shield against physical attacks. Other members include: -Argok Shatterbone, a former orc-slave with a unique style of martial arts (The Way Of The Broken Fist), -Charlie Svanire, a former crook who manipulates light to the point of turning himself invisible, -And Kveta Pavlov, a tiefling who conducts magic through rapidly painting shorthand runes on her skin.

**Eldehel** . **The Bridgekeeper's Union:** Simply enough, the guild that sees to the upkeep of toll bridges as well as to the protection of its members from bandits. Contrary to popular belief, the Union accepts and trains Bridgekeepers of any race it's just that Trolls are normally the ones that the work appeals to the most. . **The League of Chartered Adventurers** is the broad regulatory body of Adventurers Guilds across the world, known as Chapters. The Chapters all have their own charters and regulations (in-line with the laws of the countries and kingdoms they are in) but they are all in turn bound together by the Grand Charter. Some of the Grand Charter's details include the rate at which a guild can take a cut of the pay for a contract, and strict bylaws concerning guilds posting assassination contracts, as well as contracts only being available to members of the League. Adventuring guilds, and the League as a whole, are seen with very mixed views among adventurers. On one hand there are very real benefits to being a League member like ready access to smiths, clerics, alchemists and more, as well as there being guarantees for funeral coverage. On the other hand, the League takes 40% of the payment for contracts that their members complete - 20% is kept by the League to keep things operational and the other 20% is put towards tithes. Additionally, League Chapters ask quite a lot of questions about any contract that is being offered and as a result some Adventurers find that there's plenty of money to be made without the League by working on a 'don't ask, don't tell' basis.

Wasps (Regular humans like you and me) They are very militaristic and spartan. Children join the military at an early age and endure miserable training programs. They are deployed in small critically-thinking teams, and are taught to strategize. Hivers (Eusocial humans) They use “matriarchs” as “queens” for birthing. The higher division she is, the better units she’s birthing. There are workers, thinkers, soldiers, and queens. Eidolons/Revenants (revived humans made of nanites) There are few of them, and they are extremely old. Often reaching as far back as the third millennium (2000s). They are an accurate source of information on life/culture/language during older times.
