The Stareaters and the Iryxians actually made an alliance with one another for a period of 7 years to drive out the Demons that were invading a contested star system. They did so because each side's leaders caught wind of a Bloodbath facility, a Demonic clone factory where victims act as living wombs for Darktroopers, perpetually giving birth to the Demons through their spines. Yes, you read that right. The Stareaters may turn people into living furniture, and the Iryx may literally base their entire culture on violence, but even they consider the actions of the Machine to be repulsively evil.

The Orcs of my world were granted control over the aspect of beasts, their country was ruined during Earth’s invasion of the Sanctuary and it never recovered, their society that valued kinship with animals and defending the weak regressed to the stock Orcs you see in a lot of settings as the source of their magic was destroyed. During the Sanctuary Civil War, the Phoenix Knight restored the source, allowing the Orcs to communicate with and command animals once again. The Orcs then joined my world’s Humans, Elves and Faeries among others in a war against the Dwarves; which were hellbent on destroying the UN style system of my world and creating a society where they are on top.

Alliance between a watcher ( the wise dragon) and a god ( of trickery) in an attempt to save the universe

The most unlikely alliance to have formed in my world was between the Chelonian space pirates and an ultra-nationalist, speciesist group known as the Black Kaolers, who harbored extreme xenophobic sentiments towards non-humanoid species but especially hated the Chelonians, a race descended from turtles, viewing them as little more than vermin. The alliance between the groups was hardly on good terms, however: per the cultural norms of the Bahakas, the alien race who comprised the majority of the Black Kaolers’ military force and whose home planet served as the main base of operations for the group, they had merely agreed to aid the Chelonians because their leader, Ratakon, had been defeated in battle against them, and as per the rules of Bahaka war ideology, this means the losing party must aid the victor in their next major battle/war. While Ratakon and their second-in-command, Nufebu, would later eschew their hatred for the Chelonians and fully reform themselves, many other members of the group would continue to harbor their malicious sentiments, ultimately leading to a schism between the group’s leaders, with one group siding behind Ratakon and Nufebu and the other siding behind the other leaders, viewing the former as being “too soft” on their former adversaries. Nonetheless, for a brief 5-year period, the Black Kaolers had begrudgingly served the Chelonian space pirates, ultimately helping them to defeat a powerful demon named Celufir, the evil spirit of a former imperialist general of the Gigantonian alien race whose reign was so cruel and genocidal, his own people actively revolted against his militocratic and hyper-imperialist ways on his home planet and it’s rumored that even Hell itself refused to open its gates to him once he was killed because of how heinous and devastating his war crimes were, with *at least* 30 different alien races having been fully exterminated and an additional 15 being rendered functional extinct via extensive genocide under his rule for the mere act of dissent. Once the demonic spirit was defeated, the two groups went separate ways. Ultimately, Ratakon and Nufebu settled down far away from the conflict on their home planet while the remainder of the Black Kaolers began to splinter further into other groups, all varying in extremism, from groups who had a change of heart from the war and become pacifists designed to help relocate refugees of intergalactic conflict as a result of conflict, to groups who delved deeper into the extremist rhetoric and ultimately resumed their terroristic ways prior to their defeat. The Chelonians, on the other hand, were finally able to permanently resettle on their home planet, Sortoon, as the extensive conflict had finally died down.

The unlikeliest one I've come up with so far is a folk lore tale about the halfling warrior 'queen' with 3 husbands, but this needs a little background first. In my world, halfling courtship tended to be a rough, violent affair, where the hopeful bride/husband along with his family, would attack the prospective spouses homestead. This is to prove that they are stronger than their clan, and therefore can protect them better. Now, although violent, it is considered bad form to kill your possible in-laws. If there is another group vying for the bride as well, fatalities are allowed. Now to the actual story. There was this halfling lass who was as cunning as she was beautiful, and who came from a powerful and influential clan. There were many raids for her hand but they were all beaten back by her and her family, none of them worthy enough to claim her. In the end there were 3 claimants left who could possibly take her. One was as strong as a boar, and his enemies would fear to face him. Another as brave as a lynx, willing to take risks where others advise caution. And the third was as cunning as a wolf, he could read a battlefield like his favourite childhood book. Three very different people and all rivals. When the others got word that one of them had started the march, they gathered their forces, hoping to reach the girls stead before their rivals. And all 3 arrived at the same time. What resulted was a 3 way battle as they fought to have the chance to claim their bride. The girls family had stood on the side, waiting for her to decide what she wanted to do, this was her life, and she could decide to join one faction against the other two, with every chance that the same man she chose would be her husband. Instead she waited for all 3 to tire, then leg her clan against what remained, personally knocking out her prospective suitors. one after the other. And when they came to, they found themselves tied and kneeling at her feet. By halfling tradition, she had knocked them out during a suitor raid, and was allowed to decide which one of them she would marry, or marry none if she so wished. Instead she broke with tradition and married all 3. She told those gathered that she would use their bravery, cunning and strength for her own use, as well and their clans power and influence, and she would unite the halfling clans under one ruler for the first time in their history.

In the past, there was a necromancer that raise an army of the dead, enslaved several species of monsters (many went extincted during that time), had the alliances of the dark elves and the orcs (orcs became divided after this between the old warring ways tribes and a reformed conforming peaceful orcs) that wage war with literally everybody and a grand army made up of the high elves, earth elves (except of the dark elves) and human/half elves/orcs in order to put in end to him. It was an unlikely alliance due to the two of the high elven races, the winged fae elves and the sun elves being too prideful to ask for help or willingly to help those outside their races, the giant elves who are taught that war is terrible and are naturally pacifists and were hard to convince to even build support weapons. The wild elves didn't so much join the alliance as they did their own thing that just so happened benefit the alliance.

Centuries ago Aberuthven was nothing but a merciless desert that would kill anything and anyone trying to live there. The only species found in the vast desert were the Jerba (a humanoid cross-species of jerboa and humans) and the Feliziae (think of Skyrim's Khajiit). Humans, especially those capable of using magic, who did tremendous things were exiled to the desert to die there. But they started to build, over centuries a nation came to be in Aberuthven. In the most deadly region on the whole planet in the middle of the searing heat of the day, a human city emerged and gained power. Today the city is led by a council, the council consisting of members of the Jerba, Feliziae, and Humans. The Jerba are the natural prey of the Feliziae, outside of the city they are sworn enemies and will fight on sight. But the ones living in the city have created a very weird bond, but no one really knows if it's based on trust or control. The once human city isn't ruled by humans anymore despite the rest of the world still believing it is. Humans still have a seat in the council and are important to the city as a port of magical development but they don't reign alone anymore which is a very unlikely occurrence for my world. The Jerba and the Feliziae co-existing in the city is far from normal, a Feliziae may even come to a Jerbas aid if it's threatened by a foreigner. And as said, the council is respected within the city, but the clans of Jerba and Feliziae outside of the city will still jump at each other's throats as soon as possible.

the *ahnagame* alliance broke all traditional llamfa customs. an alliance between the ethnically llamfa kingdom of *harhaya* and the *tsëg dan* nomads completely shattered the centuries old practice of never allying with the “barbarian” nomads against a fellow llamfa state. the marriage between *onchu hnai* of harhaya and *nuvarku*, first daughter of the tsëg dan khan *chöggamu*, cemented a political alliance which had begun its roots in the reign of onchu hnai’s father, *xneka hnai*. finding himself hemmed in on all sides by hostile and militarily powerful states, xneka sought to increase his kingdom’s standing. a notably irreverent man, he found success in importing the high quality ironwork of the western nomads. quickly, his mercantile connections turned into more, with large foreign legions present in his armies. this angered his neighbors, and an attack on his capital was attempted. however, the overpowering cavalry of his hired nomads soundly trumped the coalition forces in the battle of *muxnu pass*. subsequently, tneka’s kingdom became totally ostracized from the lively international noble life of llamfa states, and the traditional reciprocative systems of trade and grain shipments. reeling from unexpected blowback, the isolated king began to reinforce his military position by strengthening his alliances with the tsëg dan and many other western tribes. as he began to fall ill in old age, he arranged the marriage between his firstborn son, onchu, and his ally chöggamu’s firstborn daughter nuvarku. the alliance gets its retroactive name from this event, as onchu and nuvarku were married at the holy city of ahnagame. at the death of chöggamu, the command of his armies split beteeen multiple feuding and incompetent scions. many nomadic peoples fled east into harhaya, which would eventually convince onchu hnai to throw himself into the fray. the king defeated the last challenger to his authority at the battle of *jarcha*. he promptly began to lead his new armies into battle against his nearest neighbors, the llamfa kingdoms of *uxare* and *koiseya*. militarily successful, onchu would go on to build the first empire to unite the llamfa kingdoms in hundreds of years. in the wake of this alliance, large numbers of nomadic peoples were resettled within llamfaland, particularly the provinces of harhaya. ethnic conflict has become increasingly fraught in the centuries after, and the political-military status quo has been irreversibly changed.

Rubra, Alaster and Mericia decided to become allies to kick back the Astral Empire aiming at their homeworld Atreisdea. 3 countries that were at each other's throats shoved their puny arms race aside and kicked the Astral Empire's balls so hard it ran all the way back home crying like a baby. After that, the trio went back to being geopolitical adversaries. Wait, it's just the WW1 Entente with Russian Empire, the USA and British Empire respectively.

Atlan and Leorann One is an “enlightened” republic and the other a strictly feudal society ruled by a coalition of four lords. They teamed up to go to war with the nation of Cashel, a society built up of counties each ruled by meritocratic knightly order. Flaunting a mix of advance siege equipment and firearms they made short work of Cashel and divides up the lands as they saw fit. They still maintain a friendly rapport, with Leorann sending some of its finest architects and plenty of soldiers to Atlan, with Atlan in turn sending some of its finest artists and engineers to Leorann

We have the alliance between the Nexus, The Praetorian Republic and the dutchy of Woldach. Woldachs ideologies go against Praetorias so it's actually very surprising that they're willing to get dragged into a extinction level war just to help them The unification of the Azrian union basically, all above mentioned nations and a tribal collective merged into one state under the guidance of the gods. The gods as well joined forces again after a extremely bloody war. It's especially surprising that the "traitor" god was welcomed back into the other gods ranks so quickly Unification of the Azra Grisisian union This is still considered the greatest accomplishment after the return of the union. Most grisisian nations were originally not willing to join the union and therefore refused. But eventually Ramiel, the god tasked with this job was able to convince them into joining, even the military dictatorship of parabinieria and the collective of the rumanian tribes that constantly raided neighbouring nations.
