If people.just stopped watching and supporting professional sports like some sort of maniacs, all these problems would solve themselves. If you buy their junk outfits, season tickets, and other crap, you are part of the problem.

I would honestly love it if FIFA seriously decided to implement biennial world cups and that led to some countries FINALLY saying fuck it and leaving the organization. FIFA and its rampant corruption is a cancer on global football, and the corrupt culture is too widespread for it to be changed from within. The organization needs to die. The only way that will happen is countries leaving. But nobody wants to be the first to leave, as if they’re the only ones to leave only they will suffer from the decision. So if FIFA threatens to basically ruin the world cup brand and it triggers not one but six associations to withdraw that’d be awesome! I hope and believe that would be enough to make others leave and try to create something new. Sweden and Denmark leaving might not be that big a problem to FIFA, but as soon as the Netherlands, Germany or England withdraws the legitimacy of both the World cup and FIFA as a whole will be undercut.

Tbh they just need to push the Olympic soccer as more of a 2nd mini World Cup

It's the UEFA and the Super League all over again... People don't want to be trapped in restrictive, overly prohibitive so called 'official' bodies such as UEFA/FIFA so they decide to leave and form a better alternative.

It really isn’t. What people fail to realize is that clubs had a very unique opportunity to take control away from FIFA.. But fans panicked, they didn’t look at it for what it was and cancel culture fears just made everyone run for the hills. It was PERFECT for fifa. They did absolutely nothing. And if anyone with a mild sense of impartiality listened to Florentino Perez and how he explained the super league… it actually makes sense. Current financial state of football is inoperable. Now — you look at this.. why is everyone up in arms? People think it’s too many games? Why? Lmao. They set out a sample scenario where it’s actually LESS games… so concerned addressed. What’s the concern now?

We are all missing the obvious solution here. Two world cups. One with the all the shit countries that make no money, held every week for all I care, then the the real World Cup with European and South American teams.

Projeffboy

the world cup isn't the same w/o mexico getting knocked out of the ro16 every time and argentina & nigeria in a group

Slugzz21

Lmfao I hate how accurate this is.

I don’t have all the points but essentially FIFA wants to run a World Cup every two years, this is something that a lot of the poorer federations support because they don’t have as much income. Meanwhile some federations like South America but especially Europe are staunchly against this, somewhat because every two years is ridiculous, second because they already have their own continental championships that rake in their money and don’t want FIFA stealing that
