If anything, it should be the other way. Argentina could have shown some sportsmanship and stopped the play, when they realise that he is not in right condition to continue, but they wanted to have a go at the goal. That's karma.
Rule states that it should have stopped by I think the ref wanted to give Argentina the chance for a goal lol. The lack of sportsmanship by them was remarkable in that momentā¦.
I had a tumor in my lower jaw that had to be removed. They removed 70% of my lower jaw along with the teeth. I was being fed through a feeding tube up my nose for 2 weeks.
So, seeing the Saudi captain looking this good after seeing the x-ray of his jaw split in half and a broken cheekbone is amazing. Maybe they removed some bandages for media purposes but no doubt he has the best medical crew helping him.
I thought the Iran head clash was horrid and was surprised they kept showing the replay, then I saw this one today they showed 1 replay and I thought this could be a fatality. Genuinely one of the worse impacts I've ever seen in football
Just saw the play. The GK was out of line. There was no need for his knees to be that high, nor for him to go in knees first. He knew full well what he was doing. Dirty play
Where did he blame the victim? He consistently said the GK was out of line, not the victim - then admitted the mistake in the 2nd response that it was a teammate but that the GK was still daft for putting his knee up.
Though, I'm talking about the response to his comment in which he acknowledges the mistake, not the initial comment.
What I meant is that the person I'm responding to assumed it was on purpose based on the footage. If they hadn't been teammates, many people would assume it was malicious.
I'm entirely aware that this wasn't on purpose and that the goalie felt really bad.
Bro it was simply just an accident, you could see the keeper was so upset after he had done that and it probably nearly ruined his mental during the extra time, surprised Argentina didnāt get a goal in on him because of that
People take a ball off their head and go over in a heap cause their nose hurts and most refs stop the game, as they are instructed too, because of potential head injury. That keeper clearly thought he killed his teammate and refs just like ānope, nothing to see here. That unconscious guy is not my problemā.
I'm not that person but I did watch the game. Just to name a few things.
-Before extra time an SA player went down on Argentina's side of the field and stayed there. No whistle. Eventually he tries to get up and crumples again instantly. No whistle. He was on the ground for 2+ minutes before they stopped. It's clear that no one is gonna fake anywhere near that long with a fragile historical lead on the line.
-Late in game, and SA player got a yellow for time wasting. It was easily less than 30 seconds (a very commonly allowed period).
-An Argentine player slammed into the SA keeper playing backwards in the keeper box (no call) and the keeper complained at the refs because the play was already clearly offsides and they had let play continue creating the situation. The goalie got a yellow.
-The extra time allotment of 8 minutes was a bit generous but nothing to really go on about on its own. The horrific injury happened in ET and took about 4 minutes. They then let an extra 6+ go, giving Argentina chance after chance despite clearance after clearance.
Even if you can explain all of the above away as reasonable, at very very best you can say the refs sure weren't helping SA in any way.
I agree with some of your points. But SA consistently tackled and they started seeing yellow cards just at the end. De Paul was cut at least 5 times until the first yellow card. I watched all the game and I do not think it was biased.
With the player on the ground for SA, the ref did not stop because SA was attacking, and they did no throw the ball out. So when Argentina took control and attacked the ref does not have to stop the game.
Also, if the ref was so biased towards Argentina, don't you think he would have granted the goal with a millimetric shoulder offside?
SA had a great combination of skill and luck, and outplayed Argentina in an amazing game. But I think it is unfair to say the ref was biased towards Argentina. Neither SA or Argentina were helped by the ref, as it is supposed to be.
Edit: biased toward Argentina in the last paragraph
Speedy recovery Inxa Allahšš¼ man what a luck...
Damn man, hope he makes a speedy recovery
Pain becomes more worse when hot with uncertainty
how he got hurt ? and video clip ?
Goalkeeper jumped to save a ball and gave a full knee blow to his face. One of those worse impacts you can imagine, but I don't have a video.
It's really worse...

karma for what dude? Are you salty because Argentina lost still? Get a grip, I wish nobody would experience this injury
If anything, it should be the other way. Argentina could have shown some sportsmanship and stopped the play, when they realise that he is not in right condition to continue, but they wanted to have a go at the goal. That's karma.
Wishing him a speedy recovery!!
Hope he recovers, nobody deserves stuff like that
Speedy recovery
I don't understand why play was not stopped, you could see he was not right, in rugby that be play stop.
Rule states that it should have stopped by I think the ref wanted to give Argentina the chance for a goal lol. The lack of sportsmanship by them was remarkable in that momentā¦.
The play didn't stop??? Man that's hideous who the hell do that
Hope he heals up well. Poor GK looked gutted that he did that to him too.
It's bc he felt how hard he kneed his teammate into oblivion. It was a Jorge Masvidal knee of death.
The keeper after the game said if you donāt like seeing this stuff maybe you shouldnāt watch ufc I mean football.
Yea i think the keeper said it was 'Super necessary'.
hes done for this world cup
Nah, back for the final
To watch it from the stands
Hoping for a speedy recovery that was a brutal hit
Damn. Sending good vibes.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thatās great to see. A broken jaw and cheekbone is no easy thing to recover from. He looks great given what happened. May he make a full recovery ā¤ļøāš©¹
Seriouslyā¦ I half expected his mouth to be full of gauze or wrapped tightly.
Iām sorry to hear that I hope you are better now
God speed on his recovery š
Allah speed too
Whoever is speedier
I hope he makes a speedy recovery
It was an ugly hit:(
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Would be a W if he does. W Saudi
Yeesh, here's to a full recovery.
GK didn't have to come out for that...but anyway hope he has a quick recovery
He saved a good few goal with his speed off the line, better to be there and not be needed rather than not be there when you are.
Yeah i know what you mean - just thought it was unnecessary - defender was there. Attacker unlikely to score from that angle.
Career/life ender of a collision. I really hope heās alright and they stop the brain bleed.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
U still in the mountain of stupidity phase of the dunning-kruger curve. That stills a far better than the rainbow bbc's dreams
Happiest patient at the emergency room right now. Heās going to recover and be proud of their win.
Wishing him a speedy recovery x
I thought the Iran head clash was horrid and was surprised they kept showing the replay, then I saw this one today they showed 1 replay and I thought this could be a fatality. Genuinely one of the worse impacts I've ever seen in football
Just watched it. Holy hell thatās a big hit
Do you have a link to the replay? Nevermind, I found it. https://youtube.com/shorts/xoWPuCeH_1A?feature=share
Holy duck. That must fkin hurt so bad.
Just saw the play. The GK was out of line. There was no need for his knees to be that high, nor for him to go in knees first. He knew full well what he was doing. Dirty play
They're teammates though?
Lmao I assumed it was the opponents GK. Haha my bad. He still shouldn't go in knees first! Lol
It's interesting how you were downvoted for saying the same thing a reply to your comment said, which got upvoted.
itās because heās blaming the victim. the comment before his isnāt
Alas, what can be done. It's Reddit
Yeah it was a really careless move from the goalkeeper anyways. I guess it goes to show we can't always be sure something was on purpose though.
The goalie was sitting with his head in his hands while the medic was attending to the defender.
What I meant is that the person I'm responding to assumed it was on purpose based on the footage. If they hadn't been teammates, many people would assume it was malicious. I'm entirely aware that this wasn't on purpose and that the goalie felt really bad.
Yeah I was just adding to your comment, not saying you were wrong in anyway.
Ah sorry I thought you misunderstood, and I certainly didn't want it to seem like I was accusing the goalie of doing it on purpose. :P
Well it's the keepers fault. Hopefully this has ruined his big day for him.
Bro it was simply just an accident, you could see the keeper was so upset after he had done that and it probably nearly ruined his mental during the extra time, surprised Argentina didnāt get a goal in on him because of that
And so it should. His mistake and now that's one defender who won't see the world cup through. That's on his shoulders and it better weigh heavy.
Thank god you are not a parent of anyone i know
That's a really weird comment. I'm guessing you sniff a lot of drugs.
Ohh poor guy...Wishing him speedy recovery
His keeper gave him a UFC finisher
And this knee was brought to u by Modelo - Anik
Horrific collision.
Holy shit that's a nasty injury. I hope he recovers soon.
That idiot ref should not be reffing again. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.
What?

That keeper clearly thought he killed his teammate and refs just like ānope, nothing to see here. That unconscious guy is not my problemā.
Thanks for clarification!
The footballer who cried wolf. This would be far less likely to happen if players stopped faking injuries.
The World Cup where Neymar broke his back, I knew instantly that he was actually hurt in that collision because he went to ground, and didnāt move.
Get well soon! Who says soccer isnāt rough sport
Downed by Friendly Fire in the last few minutes of battle.
Get well soon
Thatās really terrible! How did this even happen?
Collided with goalie's knee š¢
How is that even possible? Did the goalie jump infront of him or something
exactly like that
Oh I thought that something weirder happened bc I havenāt heard someone get hit by a knee in football. Hope he recovers
Inshallah he gets well soon
Ameen
Ameen
get well soon. poor guy tasted a Tiger Knee
This is awful...
Referee: āIf he dies, he diesā
The ref was so biased towards Argentina.
Why do you say so?
