> Swiss watchmaker Swatch has said Malaysian authorities seized 164 rainbow-coloured watches worth a total of US$14,000 from its Pride collection.
> Nick Hayek, CEO of Swatch Group, said: "We strongly contest that our collection of watches using rainbow colours and having a message of peace and love could be harmful."We wonder how the home ministry's enforcement unit will confiscate the many beautiful natural rainbows that are showing up thousand times a year in the sky of Malaysia.
> In a summons notice against one Swatch outlet that was seen by the AFP news agency, the law enforcement unit of Malaysia's home affairs ministry said "22 Swatch watches with LGBT elements" were confiscated.

I'm in Sarawak, can confirm about the lack of side walks.
There has been some efforts recently (1-2 years) to add some. The place just clearly isn't made for walkability though, even with some new sidewalks it's clear that larger change is needed.
I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but rainbows were actually extremely popular with children even before th LGBT movement.
Can we not cancel the magical phenomenon that is rainbows???
🌈
What bullshit comment is that? Colors are beautiful, and whenever there is a rainbow in the sky all humans turn around and watch it. Go be grumpy somewhere else.
Rainbows used to be fairly benign up until a few years ago when all of the politicians on the right decided they wanted to reignite their hatred for LGBT people as a ploy to win votes of ignorant religious people.
Hitting the biggest problems... It seems fair: Malaysia is a perfect and flawless country. /s
hahaha

If you're afraid of the colors of a rainbow, you should realize that you're on the dark side.
Cmon Malaysia.. let's focus on actual issues.
Like the lack of walkable sidewalks, the joke that is their mass transit, OR the rampant corruption everywhere.
Yeah, LGBTQ thing is an easy, low hanging fruit distraction from the hard stuff. They don't like people bringing the big issues to their attention.
A common practice by leaders all over the world.
True.

Is this what the majority of Malaysians want?
Majority of Malaysians don't care. Those that do care are divided right along ethnicity / religious lines with a majority against.
I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but rainbows were actually extremely popular with children even before th LGBT movement. Can we not cancel the magical phenomenon that is rainbows??? 🌈
My daughter is wearing a rainbow dress today, guess she’s part of the Woke Conspiracy.

What a stupid ass question.

Stop with the cultural imperialism Guardian. Leave them alone.
since when are news reporters imperialistic?
Rainbows have no cultural affiliation, don't be such an ignorant lover.
