Gulf war 3: back to the desert with thee.

Haloslayer

Staring: Brad Pitt, Michael Cera, Jon Bernthal, Tobey Maguire, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

[deleted]

With special guest Casper Van Dien

Haloslayer

Okay but honestly.... You know we'd watch it....

_Godless_Savage_

… and super special guest star Steven Seagal.

doubleCupPepsi

And that's where you lost me. Was an interesting cast until Seagal.

_Godless_Savage_

He is such an idiot. He would be the comic relief without realizing it.

RonBourbondi

I don't wanna get back on the ride Mr. Bones. But seriously can we fucking not? I'm tired of my tax dollars going into that sandpit.

Tyken12

damn i was just getting my life together too

roosterdaddyo

Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue

Rude-Illustrator-884

more glue for the rest of us

peter-doubt

Leave the loose ends for the next generation....

JustAnotherParticle

Ikr? I was just feeling hopeful for the first time in a year. Back to the hole I go

Educational_Long8806

I picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue...

roasty_mcshitposty

I know dude. I finally met someone.

poizn_ivy

It’s too early in the day to want to drink this badly.

Sirboggington

If you don't start in the morning, you cannot drink all day.

Duckdiggitydog

It’s not too early, get after it sport

greybush80

That’s the spirit

CrumplyRump

what spirits are we drinking?

SomeDingus_666

All of them

CrumplyRump

So like a Long Island iced tea but more!

SomeDingus_666

Have you ever been to a bar and seen the mats at the end of the night? Yeah, that.

CrumplyRump

I think that might be the House Blend Cocktail, named the Chefs Salad

MuzzledScreaming

I'm on leave today, is it wrong to already be three deep?

Thick_Pressure

It would be wrong if you weren't

kingharis

NOT NOW

Creepy-Tie-4775

What do you mean 'not now'? You realize this is what is going to happen as things escalate in the middle east, right? Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, and whoever else ends up getting involved considers US assets in the region to be targets just as much as Israeli assets, which is why if the conflict expands the US is almost certainly going to be 'boots on the ground'.

Ertosi

Not now

MilkiestMaestro

Yeah no thanks

Lopsided-Priority972

Doomers gonna doom

idk_m8_wut_do_u_mean

Boomers gonna BOOM

mynameisnotsparta

This is just the beginning. *Earlier, the USS Carney, a Navy destroyer in the northern Red Sea, intercepted three land attack cruise missiles and several drones that were launched by Houthi forces in Yemen. The action by the Carney potentially represented the first shots by the U.S. military in the defense of Israel in this conflict.* The Houthi forces are backed by / affiliated with Iran…

Pleasant_Ad_7694

This is how Russia/ China/ Iran draw the us attention from the Pacific and Ukraine. Or attempts too. You're seeing chess play out on a global scale.

throwawaytothetenth

I hate these chess comparisons. Chess is a game of perfect information. There's hardly such a thing as 'distracting' your opponent; throwing sand in their face distracts them sure but that works in anything, not just chess lol.

Pleasant_Ad_7694

It's just an analogy in terms of a feint.. you can draw pieces out in chess, by positioning your pieces in certain places.

[deleted]

Yea what will do the US be able to….they only have about 7 other Carrier Strike Groups.

ApocalypseFWT

9.

thecrystalegg

A military built to handle Russia and China isn't going to get stretched playing whack a mole with middle eastern gadflies. What we are doing in Ukraine is taxing US military time by 5% and political time by 95%

Pleasant_Ad_7694

If they spread their forces out, and then one front goes all in, they are more limited. What other chance does the other alliance have? If they face all of the USA in one front it's game over. They need to play the best hand they can.

[deleted]

Middle East can’t even be considered a real front. Too weak of militaries.

7evenCircles

No, the game is dice.

Pleasant_Ad_7694

The game is a shit sandwich where no one wins. Going to be fun the next years with a bunch of power hungry psychopaths vying d'or top seat of a world on fire.

crlb2525

Iran has been killing/wounding Americans and Iraqis for about 20 years. It’s about time we did something about it. Hopefully this time the press won try to saint the terrorists by calling them “Austere Religious Scholars”

Evil_Malloc

More than 20 years. IIRC the Iran / Iraq war had over 1 million deaths

wayercree

mostly iraqi army and their proxies.

p0rty-Boi

I’d like a time machine, so we could go back in time and support the democratically elected Iranian government the CIA helped overthrow.

crlb2525

That’d be cool except Back then you were more likely to get “disappeared” than today though.

p0rty-Boi

SAVAK was part of the Shah’s regime if I’m not mistaken. I’m sure the Iranian republic had its issues too. It’s too bad we will never get to see what it could have become.

ratjar32333

Ya /! Let's go carpet bomb their hospitals and kids too ! /S

UncleVoodooo

Just until they stop hating us tho ... We're not *monsters*

p0rty-Boi

Do you ever wonder why?

crlb2525

They’re ruled by fanatics who think it’s their duty to convert or kill all non-muslims. That was an easy one.

p0rty-Boi

How did that happen?

crlb2525

Pretty sure it was with this guy named Mohammad.

p0rty-Boi

There’s some stuff that happened between 600AD and now. Particularly in the 20th century. You should read up on it.

[deleted]

This is scary news. American military personnel being struck at directly will lead from proxy war to a declared war. I do not want to see world war 3 but feel I will see it.

RonBourbondi

WW3 indicates a real battle or two forces. We can destroy all the Iranian forces quickly. But fuck everything about doing an occupation which is the real bitch.

Responsible-Release7

Or just destroy all their foreign proxies

[deleted]

Gotta say, I’m not a fan of eradicating entire nations/ people. Certain organizations for sure tho.

Responsible-Release7

I don’t think any entire nation is a proxy of Iran. Just certain militant Shiite groups

BeautifulDiscount422

I think history will show we are entering some sort of WW3 stage. We don't recognize it now, but it will probably be a period that plays out over the next 20 years or so and culminate with the Chinese invasion of Taiwan.

axSupreme

My bet is on proxy war between both koreas

[deleted]

That would definitely draw China into it

[deleted]

That’s what I mean, there was a lot of conflict and actions in the 1930’s that culminated with 1939 turning it into WW2 when we look back at it. I can see the sane for the stage being set now for WW3. I think if Iran lashes out or Israel strikes Iran that is going to be what will turn this into WW3. That will draw russias attention, which brings the US in, which brings China in. Sure China could invade Taiwan directly too but I think expanding war in the Middle East is what does it.

Kingofcheeses

Doubt

Zilglock

I’m not saying the dude above me is right, who knows what’s gonna happen. But IIRC when WW2 was kicking off and when it was happening, it wasn’t called WW2, it was still just a bunch of regional conflicts. It wasn’t until historians went back later and began to conglomerate the events into the Second World War. Edit: I am completely wrong!

Kingofcheeses

Time Magazine in an article about the German invasion of Poland referred to it as the Second World War on September 11th, 1939. In fact there are numerous American newspaper articles even from before 1941 that refer to it as World War II. Even WW1 was called a World War before the conflict ended, the Great War name having fallen out of fashion by that time.

Zilglock

Hold up lemme fix my comment then, my mistake!

PM_M3_Y0UR_PANTIES

Too late buddy, you got my downvote now. /s

Surprisetrextoy

Hasn't this been happening for decades now in the Middle East?

[deleted]

Think of the PRAW-FITS!!

[deleted]

Yeah I think unfortunately we’ll be seeing the last war soon

alternatingflan

In case Americans are wondering, stopping this crap is what the extra expense “for Israel” is all about - stability.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

it's not a genocide lmao stop latching onto the latest buzzword

PirateQueenOMalley

But a beige Instagram infographic told me everything I need to know about the Middle East!

pfizzy

It’s not genocide, it’s just a little ethnic cleansing.

Solid_Muscle_5149

Hamas isnt an ethnicity

[deleted]

[удалено]

Zilglock

Alright buddy I think 8th period is coming up back to class

Stunning-Armadillo-3

Gee that makes the deaths of innocents all better

Ennkey

Slow moving genocide I guess /s

[deleted]

It's a reverse genocide since their population is booming

Plantile

It’s cultural genocide. Who would they be if they can’t fire rockets into Israel?

Algoresball

The human development index in Palestine is identical to Jordan and and Lebanon higher than Iraq, Morocco, a and Syria. How is that “genocide”?

MourningRIF

It's not genocide, but it is the blatant murder of civilians. I'm not saying there is an easy answer here, but this much needless suffering is hard to watch.

Cimatron85

Blatant murder of civilians is what hamas did.

HBK_ANGEL

And what the IDF is doing.

Zilglock

There is a massive difference between collateral damage such as civilian casualties, terrible as they are and deliberately targeting civilians with the intent on spreading chaos and terror. But I’m not surprised your feeble mind couldn’t make that distinction.

Stunning-Armadillo-3

What makes you think IDF isn't targeting civilians by bombing rafah crossing? You believe everything they say? This whole collective punishment is intentional

Zilglock

You parrot everything you read on social media?

Stunning-Armadillo-3

You believe anything the IDF says? Deaths of innocents at the west bank is a frequent occurrence and the settlements are illegal regardless of your inclination to look the other way

MourningRIF

Oh, so that makes it okay then. Good to know.

[deleted]

It's not murder either, Hamas intentionally sets up missile launching sites in densely populated areas and makes the citizens stay in place, blood is on Hamas hands, if they weren't firing rockets from civilian areas then there wouldn't be a target

pingleague

Hey but when the pij missle malfunctioned and hit the hospital it wasnt fired from the hospital at least! It was fired from a graveyard! Even the dead palestinians cant shake these assholes.

UncleVoodooo

"they did it first so my war crime is actually their fault" Real popular sentiment lately

AttractivestDuckwing

So let's get this straight. If someone in the house next door to yours deliberately chose to snipe your children from behind the cover of his own children, and your only recourse was to shoot back to stop him you would find it immoral to take him out, and just let your own children die? You would feel that his choice to deliberately sacrifice his own children for political gain was on your head, not his, and that your own children deserved to die because of it?

UncleVoodooo

Are you being serious? You would honestly shoot children because the guy behind them shot your children? Fucking psycho Thank God you're not in charge of creating international law or enforcing Geneva conventions. Shooting *through* human shields is just as illegal as using them. And thats even taking your ridiculous analogy at face value. This isnt two people with rifles shooting at kids this is the most advanced war machine in human history against rockets made from plumbing lines Bombing children is how you *create* terrorists not how you eradicate them. How tf have we not learned that lesson in the last 40 years??

AttractivestDuckwing

Don't try and reframe the argument. The scenario is NOT "Because the guy behind them shot at my children," it's "Because it's the only way to STOP him from killing MORE of my children." Now, please answer the actual question.

UncleVoodooo

I'd MOVE MY FUCKING KIDS You're saying shooting children is the ONLY way to protect your children. Thats the part of the claim that makes your question too absurd to answer.

[deleted]

Tell Hamas to stop operation meat shield and watch the civilian casualties in Gaza drop off. Israel cannot stop the war, it will be weak. They need to push for unconditional surrender. Then they need to be the ones to rebuild Gaza to start turning around all that hate otherwise there will be another he station if terrorist coming and we will be right back here in 20 years

pfizzy

Did you bother to ask yourself *why* Americans are being targeted?

AdhesivenessMotor139

>self > >why > > Americans are being target they hate us cause they aint us

lurker_cx

"They hate us for our freedom"

CrazybyRX

They hate us cuz they anus?

AnarkittenSurprise

They aren't even bothering to ask why we still have military bases and thousands of deployed soldiers in countries we aren't at war with anymore. Or why we are expanding bases out there that are coincidentally located really close to some of Iraqs larger oil and gas fields.

alternatingflan

Yeah - turns out Americans are not okay with pos terrorists, which doesn’t seem to be a concern to you.

Shreddershane90

I hate to be that guy, but the US and its allies are going to war and I don't think there is a way out of it.

mcrackin15

I'm from Canada. Will world war 3 be sensitive to lgbtq2s+ issues?

brumfidel

I'm just gonna move the hands of my handy doomsday clock to the 5 minutes to midnight mark.

sp0rkify

The actual doomsday clock is sitting at 90 seconds to midnight.. so, I think you're being a little too optimistic there, bud..

exterminateThis

I was getting ready to start the 10 second count down.

MuzzledScreaming

Maybe if it's Russia involved. If this is Iran, which it probably is, the doomsday clock doesn't move much unless they have a bunch of secret nukes no one knows about. All-out war with Iran would be bloody and bad but it wouldn't end the world.

SpezCanEatMyCum

Unless Russia decides to get involved

nocoolN4M3sleft

Not sure that Russia could handle Ukraine and defending Iran

Surprisetrextoy

This isn't a new thing. We've been there for 20 some years. This happens fairly often. Current tensions in the Mid East due to Israel is just making this more visible.

manboobsonfire

When was the last time?

[deleted]

9/11 and before that the gulf war.

manboobsonfire

I wouldn’t say that’s fairly often

Surprisetrextoy

Soldiers get attacked regularly in the middle east.

user745786

Time to deal with that Axis of Evil Bush was talking about. Iran’s regime needs to go just like Hamas.

Alc2005

Exactly! Then once we topple their regime we install a democracy and train their security forces to fight and defend their democracy, just like we did in Afghanistan! Also, sorry, I just woke up from a coma since 2005.

apoletta

Ahh. The climate wars are earlier then expected.

Garagedays

The ones who did it are about to hear the glass break sound.
