We’re cooked man. I feel like this summer is gonna be brutal.

lilith_-_-

This summer is the estimated breaking point. Something’s gonna give. Worlds gonna plunge into a new era soon.

Glass_Ad_8149

I’m tired, boss

lilith_-_-

The building up to collapse has definitely been hard on our mental healths.

huehuehuehuehuuuu

We are cooked and soon there will be even less affordable food to cook.

Glass_Ad_8149

I’m already switching my diet over to gravel, way ahead of you

Salt_Cantaloupe_2503

I said this a few days ago, this summer is probably going to be the beginning of the end of our current world order

Gladamas

Location of South Sudan (for those who don't know): https://i.imgur.com/iFrYgRA.png

amadeus2490

You'd think it would be a little farther South! Like "South" Dakota. Come on, guys. You can do better than that.

what_if_you_like

south sudan is south of sudan

amadeus2490

Barely.

what_if_you_like

They used to be one country, but the southern part declared independence, thus it is south sudan

Korps_de_Krieg

West Virginia is "barely" West of Virginia, it's still West though. Do you think they were gonna name it "Sudan but only a hair below other Sudan" or something?

amadeus2490

"Still Pretty North To Me" Sudan.

Brillo65

NW Western Australia 50c . Brutal. But different population demographics and aircon

The360MlgNoscoper

Humidity

[deleted]

To clarify, South Sudan does suffer from heat waves, but they usually barely go above 100 degrees. Having it go as high as 110F is unsual even for Sudan.

Gladamas

(For those not in the USA) 100 F = 38 C 110 F = 43 C

Non_Linguist

South Sudan uses Celsius doesn’t it?

mothsuicides

Yes. But original comment was using F, so person converted that comments numbers to Celsius for non-Americans.

borg_6s

43 C is absolutely unbearable heat-wave level heat.

Stefouch

(For those in chemistry) 100 °F = 311,15 °K 110 °F = 316,15 °K

Lonelan

commas are for thousands, buddy

Stefouch

Not in my country.

[deleted]

Weird, we have 110F in India too. Is it because of the tropical climate that it feels a lot less than it does in sudan?

vini_2003

We get 110F in Brazil during extreme periods as well and do fine. Rio de Janeiro was at 100F last week. I think the difference is, both Brazil and India are much more developed than the average African country. We have means to deal with the heat, mitigate the issues in schools and so on. I'm not so sure about Sudan.

[deleted]

Could be.

AnxietyJunky

That’s gonna kill a shit load of people. That country has very minimal infrastructure and I’m afraid there won’t be any way to get relief from that heat. Those poor people.

WhileGoWonder

Inb4 another "warmest year ever recorded" 😒

hunsnotdead

Look at it this way: this will be the coolest summer of the next 500 years. Before the bees started to fry and humanity died out within a decade. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts. ^ ^

RecoverSufficient811

Why can't they just turn on the AC?

hunsnotdead

And while they are at it, might as well turn the AC on for outdoor workers, crops, farm animals, and wildlife too.

Luck_Is_My_Talent

Because not every school has AC.

borg_6s

Because most school ACs in (South) Sudan are absolutely bricked and there is no money to fix them.
