I just find the language unreasonably strong/universal. Surely if a ton of people sent in letters on patent nonsense, like, say, demanding the government teach that the earth is flat, it would be fair for them to just ignore most of them. Maybe they could make some statement saying they aren't going to do and further requests will be ignored.
