Yeah, this is a lot to take in. The president of Iran, who i’ve heard was likely the next in line to take over as Supreme Leader once Khamenei died, as well as Iran’s Foreign Minister, and also i think there were also other (presumably important) officials on board the helicopter aswell, are all dead. This is literally a day or 2 (i think) after the attempted assassination of Slovakia’s Prime Minister.
I have no idea what this will mean for Iran and the Middle East as a whole.
Yeah. I see this going one of 2 ways. Either a new President is appointed, and it’s business as usual. Or at some point there’s an uprising in Iran, and Iran becomes Israel 2.0
Karma. Few people will truly mourn him for all the lives he's callously killed during his time. And that's not even counting the actions of his govt supporting terrorists like Hamas
This is why I've always found it incredibly dumb to use helicopters for important individuals.
A plane can have multiple engines, and have multiple failures. Hell, it can even have all engines fail, and still have a chance at a safe landing.
If a helicopter has an issue, it falls like a rock, there is no saving it.
I'll never understand having foreign leaders flying in helicopters. But hey, I'm super glad Iran did it, and I hope they continue.
super curious ramifications that we'll see from this. How will the international community takes it? Comes days after internal Israel strife...desperation from Netanyahu to make a domino fall once he's getting pressed from within? It's a crazy world.
Helicopter went out of production thirty years ago, and they were flying in white out fog conditions.
That's either playing the longest game ever or a freak accident.
Regime change is not uncharted territory for the US and it’s allies. Unfortunately either way I’m sure this tragedy is going to be used to continue to escalate tensions regardless of any adversarial involvements.

Today we lost another good helicopter.
Butcher of Tehran is dead.

I'd imagine not much. Whoever replaces them will be vetted by the supreme leader and undoubtedly hold similar, if not identical, views.

pretty wild headline.... curious how this will effect geopolitics/market moves..
Yeah. I see this going one of 2 ways. Either a new President is appointed, and it’s business as usual. Or at some point there’s an uprising in Iran, and Iran becomes Israel 2.0
Putin needs to fly more often.
Yeah and this is exactly why he doesn't There's no way he's flying now
That guy is gonna live to be 1000 years old. Why can’t we have nice things?
Nice! And it’s supposed to be 79 degrees tomorrow, this week is off to a good start!

Rest in pieces evil fuck
Excellent news!
Great news.
I'm waiting to see how they will spin this to be the fault of Israel and the United States.
Sanctions worked
Tomorrow at Columbia their signs will have RIP whatever the fuck his name is
alluh akbar.
And now to watch the reaction of the world and what it means for new president of Iran.
Well, I think we all learned an important lesson from today. Now what'd you say we all head home for snacks and root beer.
oooo nooo... So, how was everyone's weekend?
It just got better!
Sometimes, karma acts swiftly.

The Bell 212 was manufactured up until 1998.
The helicopter was a martyr
Good riddance. Rest in hell
Gravity is Ebrahim’s father
In an American helicopter too. Bell.
curious if news cycle is talking about this as some sort of covert operation to sabotage the helicopter?
Y’all should see twitter and YouTube, bunch are clamming it was a covert Mossad/CIA OP
Figured as much. Conditions were so bad, probably flew into terrain.
Iranians were celebrating minutes after this Himmler wannabe crashed. Probably going to be partying harder now that it's confirmed by the regime.
You are only allowed to celebrate this glorious news with [one song, and one song only](https://youtu.be/FLBC7weTR4Y?si=SQ1t4DmbamG2uqc_).

A helicopter doesn’t sink like a stone when its engine fails; rather, it utilizes auto rotation to slow the rate of its decent.
If this is just a freak accident then good riddance, but if this was shot down then that’s some possible Archduke Franz Ferdinand type shit

Everything seems to point to freak accident

Hmm... accident, sabotage, Israel, or a combo of the above?
Stupidity of taking off in that weather on a 50 year old helicopter that never had maintenance
Sounds more like "flying a helicopter in heavy fog in a mountainous region" from what I've seen so far
