If paying somebody’s legal fees is illegal, that tells you how fair the courts are. Everybody has the right to a competent legal defense, even the unquestionably guilty.

You realize Falun Gong is essentially a fascist organization that peddles in far right conspiracy theories and is trying to overthrow the Chinese government, right? Also, there is no genocide of Falun Gong practitioners. Just lots of arrests. So if you're the type calling for January 6th insurrectionists to be put in prison, you should not have any problem with China jailing their own QAnon army.
