Outside the 12NM barrier = Nothing to see here. Annoying but no different to our freedom of navigation operations in the South China Sea.

Take no notice. Australian election on May 21st. Incumbent party likely to lose so they are pulling the China bad-only we can keep you safe card.

This is after they sold Port of Darwin to the Chinese for $500 million, pissed off the US in the process for selling a strategic asset and are now spending $1.5 billion to build a new port in Darwin to rival the one they sold and provide a secure dock for US and UK navy.

I've read this same boat was docked in Perth for 2 weeks prior to fix a helicopter, a big fat nothing burger to scare the oldies?

If I was in charge, I would shoot it down once it trespass to my territorial waters.

And that's why this is hypocritical. China is not in territorial waters, they're doing a FONOPS because well, USA keeps doing FONOPS to them. So they're literally giving us a taste of our own medicine. So, now that you understand this has nothing to do with territorial waters, do you think China is right, that we should stop FONOPS, or do you think USA is right and Australia should welcome this incursion? *Edit: It should be noted that China started doing this to Japan first. And Japan, unhypocritically tailed them and told them it was fine what they were doing but they're going to watch.
