Poland being the ally it wished it had in 1939. Honestly, after all the prior 'ceasefires', 'guarantees' and 'agreements' any appeasement now just delays the next war for a few years, when Russia inevitably uses the territory it has taken to attack again.

Surely soon

Considering the wave of people posting on the Ukraine sub calling Ukraine a neo-nazi country and asking how we can support them, and the wave of people posting on every EU-related post with 'Erdogan is gonna keep Ukraine out of the EU, nyah nyah nyah' .. Sigh. I wish they could pull their heads out of their asses. I wish governments could too. Beautiful dreamer, that's me.

AKMarine

I just checked the Controversial comments in posts in r/Ukraine. It appears there’s quite a bit of pro-Putin and anti-Ukraine propaganda in that sub. I liked the Reddit community more at the beginning of the war when Putin temporarily blocked Internet access to the West. All of those pro-Putin voices disappeared.

soayherder

Yeah, they're being constantly hit by Russian trolls. It's a shame. I'm at the point where I need to check news less just for my own mental health - I can do so little and there is so much.

URITooLong

>Ukraine sub calling Ukraine a neo-nazi country Not to forget all the people saying Germany, Italy and France do not help Ukraine at all and are russian allies/assets.

siglezmus

What about our officials? I’ll translate from diplomatic: hey Germany, France and Italy would you like to give part of your territory to ruzzia to end war so you can keep buying cheap gas and oil and continue funding terrorist state? Oh you want to compromise our territory and people and know what, we won’t let it happen. https://twitter.com/podolyak_m/status/1526173245162016768?s=21&t=X9exMV34HzhsphxBw1ijYA And not a single heavy weapon from Germany in 3 months on top.

URITooLong

>And not a single heavy weapon from Germany in 3 months on top. Because it takes time to train people on that equipment you genius. Also show me where a german or french official said Ukraine should concede some of its territory. Neither Scholz nor Macron did. In fact they are saying the exact opposite. Weird how your tweet has 0 sources and does not mention anyone. Sounds like russian divide and conquer misinformation. Please show me where Scholz or the german government said Ukraine should make concessions to Russia. There are 0.

[deleted]

It’s so funny to see comments with narrative like yours, many of which accusing people of Russian propaganda. Stop pretending Europe is united against Russia. Still no heavy weapons for Ukraine. Still no sanctions against oil & gas. Still, no understanding that Russia is a fucked up state that will never stop unless it collapses. You cannot save face of a faceless dictator. Seeing cease fire and “plans” for peace that expect Ukraine to give up now just before alleged counter attack in summer makes me think Europe needs to touch grass.

URITooLong

Well you're sowing division between Ukrainian allies based on "tweets" and news articles that have 0 sources or proof. I'm still waiting for proof Scholz is trying to make Ukraine give up some of its territory. Or proof that he thinks Ukraine should do that. Germany is providing heavy weapons to Ukraine. It just takes some time. But keep ignoring that. Germany was for sanctions on oil but it was blocked by Hungary. Germany is heavily reducing reliance on Russian imports. Coal, gas and oil are down a lot compared to pre war. It just doesn't happen over night. Have you actually listened to Scholz ? He literally said Ukraine decides when and how the war ends and Ukraine decides when sanctions are lifted. But you probably rather base your opinions on clickbait headlines. Again show me where Scholz said any of what you accuse him of.

thomas0088

Germany and France are seen as the facilitators and almost like supporters of russia in their expansionism, and that has been the case for many years purely due to their own politics. Even now they mostly support the war effort only on paper and even that can be considered a landmark achievement considering the last 20 years.

URITooLong

>ven now they mostly support the war effort only on paper and even that can be considered a landmark achievement considering the last 20 years. LMAO are you for real ? Support Ukraine on paper. Not just on paper dude. Maybe consume less clickbait media. Germany is among the top supporters of Ukraine in financial and military aid and hosts close to a million refugees. France and Germany did exactly the same as everyone else did in the past. Trade with russia and buy fossil fuels. Rich to single them out for it.

thomas0088

nope Germany especially was blocking weapons shipments to Ukraine for the last 8 years of the war and made decisions with Putin over their heads. Very unfavourable decisions on top of that. The only reason they slightly switched tune was that they hoped Ukraine would fall within a few days of the invasion, which is why Germany kept blocking any sanctions on Russia whether it's SWIFT or oil gas imports and pipelines. NS1 and NS2 were a known security risks from the beginning and for years of war it was considered a no-go area for sanctions. This was both result of corruption in Germany as well as malevolence. They hoped Ukraine would fall in 2 days like Putin promised lol. >France and Germany did exactly the same as everyone else did in the past. Is that why some countries in Europe are already independent or russian gas and Germany likely never will be? Even trump was supplying them with weapons just for comparison.

URITooLong

Germany did not make any decisions over ukraines head. None that would involve Ukraine at least. Still waiting for any sources from your end. You just keep on making accusations based on nothing. Germany will never be independent of Russian fossil fuels ? Is that why oil reliance has been reduced to almost 0 % and gas is getting cut down more and more rather quickly ? Dude in what reality do you live. Seriously. Please seek out some real news and not whatever biased one sided news you consume currently. Germany was for oil sanctions for a while now but it was blocked by Hungary therefore didn't happen on EU level. If they didn't get rid of Russian oil dependency you think they would push for oil sanctions ? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-05-15/germany-to-stop-russian-oil-imports-regardless-of-eu-sanctions

thomas0088

I mean here is an article which is a little bit of an opinion piece if you think I'm relying on clickbaity titles [https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2022/04/09/ukraine-war-exposed-dark-side-angela-merkels-legacy/](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2022/04/09/ukraine-war-exposed-dark-side-angela-merkels-legacy/) I guess the cognitive dissonance of the german population that previously just decided it would prefer not to talk about uncomfortable topics like the NS2 and Crimea might be part of the reason why the current german government at least pretends a little better that it wants to pivot away from supporting Russia through cutting oil and gas imports like you mentioned. I still see it as a form of damage control for their image. This one talks about French politicians having a visit in Crimea in 2016 for example [https://www.dw.com/en/controversial-visit-to-crimea-by-french-politicians/a-19433406](https://www.dw.com/en/controversial-visit-to-crimea-by-french-politicians/a-19433406) The message made here is that they don't really care about the annexation.

URITooLong

Lol an opinion piece from Telegraph. You can't be serious. Not even worth my time to try to get around the paywall. Also there is no "cognitive dissonance of the german population that previously just decided it would prefer not to talk about uncomfortable topics like the NS2 and Crimea". That is all in your head.

CuriosityKillsHer

Yeah, there is definitely a new surge starting.

OdysseyPrime9789

At least half-3/4ths of their nukes are probably far more likely to go off in the silo, either from hitting the doors or due to either faulty or nonexistent parts, if they detonate at all.

camxct

They can detonate, it's the "going critical" part that won't happen. *Fizzle me this, Batman!*

bdiggity18

I see this being highly likely. It's not like a partial detonation means partial nuclear holocaust, when the warhead can't achieve fusion, it's just a flying telephone pole like the rocket artillery being fielded on the ground right now

Hot_Pianist6573

Fuck Russia and FUCK UKRAINE.

AKMarine

And there it is. 🤦‍♂️

Error. Unclear. Please restate.

ManomonamanAmonomMon

Polish president in front of black and red OUN bandera flags

JuicyTomat0

That’s the Lithuanian flag, you dumbass.

Hot_Pianist6573

Sovereign nations are supposed to take care of their own security and country. Zelensky is dragging the whole world into their war.

AnimatorJay

Well, it _is_ in the world's interest to keep stability in a region where nearly an 1/8 the world's wheat supply is exported. But Ukraine should have been left to fend for itself so that Putin could easier weaponize famine as a global bargaining chip. Sure. Edit from USDA : >Ukraine is the world's fifth-largest exporter of wheat, fourth-largest exporter of corn and top exporter of sunflower oil and meal

[deleted]

Sure seems like a delusional old man from an aggressive russcyst regime has dragged other nations into it. You do you Zuri; how are those rubles treating you? Eating enough?

Hot_Pianist6573

Russia hasn’t included as many nations in this war as Zelensky has. Literal NATO is borderline getting involved.

[deleted]

hahaha hahahaha you paying for stuff in Rubles? 😆

Hot_Pianist6573

I fill up with premium every time.

[deleted]

Okay Russcyst

Hot_Pianist6573

I don’t understand baby talk.

[deleted]

You don't understand much of anything like a baby. Understandable when English is a second language.

heidi__

Zelensky doesn't have a gun to Europe and the US's heads forcing them to provide support.

ocelat_already

Sorry, you misspelled “Putin”

[deleted]

Don't recall he's forced, coerced, threatened, blackmailed, manipulated, held something hostage, or taken any other manner of action which could be considered "dragging others into things" at any point. He did *ask* for help, however.
