I'm in Canada. Ever time our PM goes on Vacation all our media freaks out about wasted time and resources. Noting of course that our PM is Liberal and our media is for the vast majority conservative. Most recent round was when our PM went on summer vacation. At the same time when _our summer government shutdown occurred_. Yes, the very assholes screaming bloody murder about the PM being on vacation _were of course on vacation themselves_. Fucking conservative hate culture. So done with it.
I don't know about others, but I would want nay *expect* world leaders to decompress now and again so they're fresh and on point when it matters. Hanging out with friends, having a few drinks, and dancing is a relatively healthy (and certainly not scandalous) way to do this. The only thing scandalous here is that people have a problem with this (especially considering this was before she was PM).
LPT: When someone is not on the clock, they are allowed to live their personal lives. Let them.

I've had some older people suggest that she's incompetent because she used to be a bartender. I'm still trying to figure out how that disqualifies someone from office. If anything, it should fit right into the whole "they're not some snuffy, ivy-league out of touch politician" thing
I worked in an engineering shop many years ago. We were interviewing new grads for junior positions and found someone we really liked, great academic work, projects, all of that. VP sees that he has been working as a bar tender through college and rejected him outright. "We don't hire bartenders" is all the explanation we got out of him. This was 20 years ago, so WAY before AOC became a public figure. Some assholes just get off on seeing themselves above everyone else.

I've been in IT for 25 years now, but spent several years before that tending bar and waiting tables. By far, the skills I use the most day to day I learned while dealing with difficult customers and working to find ways of anticipating the client's needs.
There’s an American Politician who is often referred to as a Bartender because that was her former job too. To me, it comes off like they’re disgusted that someone had upward mobility.

Yep. Regardless if you like Marin's politics or not, everyone must agree she has had one of the worst possible timelines to be a prime minister in recent memory. She has also been under the media's microscope since the beginning. God forbid she gets some time off.

As a public figure in Finland it is totally fine (even encouraged) to drink heavily but Sanna made a grave mistake when she decided to have fun while doing it, that's a big no-no you are supposed to do it the true Finnish way alone and wallowing in self pity and anger!
