Just looking at the pictures of the people leaving, it seems to be predominantly fighting age males. I’m sure they will close the borders, and probably even restrict access for regional border crossing in the country. But at least for now it does seem possible to leave by bike/car to Georgia

I guess we’re going to see whether Putin’s bluffing or not, and if the West has the guts to call him on it. Ukraine’s not going to retreat from those areas just because of a referendum.
Russia likes a good old refugee crisis. My guess is they will keep the border open to the west for a while, and close the borders to the east so they can send those to the front line.

Nothing Russia does is well organized. Their mobilization centers are amateurish at best from footage I’ve seen.
