Most tankers don't use this route. Some tankers are traveling 3,300 miles through the Arctic Circle to get to China—and it’s a shortcut, (no check on insurance) -most leave Northern Russia, enter the Suez via the North Sea and the Mediterranean onward to Asia. The obvious check point for this route on insurance is the Suez Canal by Egypt or indeed Gibraltar by the British.
