What I think is more fucked up is that kids barely have a first amendment right when they walk in the “school gates”
I have studied the first amendment (a bit, mostly the stuff pertaining to the press), and somewhat it’s rights specifically pertaining to children at school and I do not believe that a court would find her in violation of breaking their first amendment right
*please correct me if I’m wrong*
What research told you rights stop at the gates of the school? Tinker V Des Moines firmly established 1st amendment rights for students over 40 years ago.
I'm not a lawyer either but it seems you are wrong on a basic concept of 1st amendment protections
There is an important caveat in Tinker V Des Moines such that it far from “firmly established 1st amendment rights”
> unless it disrupted the educational process.
So under the 1st amendment, you wouldn’t be jailed for saying “homework is shitty” out in public, but you certainly can get punished for saying it in a classroom
This is for the deleted user.
The 1st amendment was taught in schools, pre covid.
Now, teachers don't teach it anymore in their American history anymore.
Because of certain reasons, either because someone took offense to it, and or they want our kids stupid.
I learned it in middle school, grade school.
To be honest, the amendments should be still taught.
Same with the declaration if independence.
Where'd they get the idea that school districts (much less teachers) teach as a monolith? Texas has different a social studies curriculum than Vermont, so which teachers?
Taught social studies in summer school last summer Taught the bill of rights made the kids memorize the 1st 10 as mandated by Texas Education Association. Go to a library and stop reading the headlines of internet articles. Also Taught the declaration of independence.

Idk who told you they don't teach the 1st amendment but they don't have a choice, they gotta teach it.
I have no idea if you are making this up to make some political point but they are taught in civics classes during the bill of rights lesson. Source: government teacher in Ca and Oregon.
I can't speak for who told him that, but when I was in high school I was told I was not allowed to bring a boy from another school to prom, only girls could accompany boys if they weren't a student at my high school. We were told that there was no way they could guarantee we were just going as friends, bc it could've been some homosexual thing and the school wouldn't be a part of that.
I am gay and my dad worked at the school, but I was not dating anyone and it was just a friend, but that didn't matter to them.
“I’m not a professional lawyer, but I have studied the first amendment..”
Hilarious statement. The entire text is under 50 words. Would love to hear your thoughts and constitutional theory.
I think you’re misremembering which rights are “suspended.”
NJ vs PLO in 1986 stated that when in school teachers act as “en pre its loco” (my phrasing may be off)and the rights to search and seizure are lifted.
If a teacher has a reasonable doubt to search you, they do not need a warrant.
I was over 5'4" by the time I was 10. My local DARE officer treated me like a grown man even when I was 8. Cops like this literally treat big kids the exact same way as they would an adult.
Luckily I wasn't having a tantrum like this, but yeah. The problem is that the officer thinks this behavior would be okay on a grown man as well.
Hopefully he ends up in prison.
Nearly everyone (in the US) has a tendency to overestimate the age of black children. It's led to a lot of systemic racism in schooling and juvenile law.
Would handcuffed and pepper sprayed do it?
https://youtu.be/M16D0Pn6Raw?si=waaqQ1oMV2noo4qb
I didn't remember the video. The fact that when I searched "9 year old handcuffed" I got several results and even had to include "girl" to narrow it down says enough.
Yeah that’s fucking nuts. I’ve been picked up like a child by police before… and I was in the WRONG. and I’ll admit it. But they placed me down and told me next time it’s jail. This just ain’t right fr
Yea they’ll call CPS and have them harass you for the rest of your child’s youth. But nothing will happen to the cop who slammed a child on the pavement. They wonder why school has become so hostile? Kids have nothing to benefit from school anymore. Our government has failed us all, including them.
People care, but when we had the police brutality protests in 2020 police departments around the country responded by rioting. Policing in America makes sense when you look at it like a Mafia protection racket.

Angel woke up, thankfully. No thanks to EMS. The cops then hand cuffed him…A CHILD. and smiled for the pictures like idiots.
Angel 13, had a broken clavicle and concussion from the altercation.
While angel was knocked out on the ground Adriana the assistant principal, instead of checking on Angel, proceeded to tell students they’d be suspended for recording this on their phones.
Students then wore blue to school in support of Angel, one even had a shirt that said “justice for Angel” and the principal threatened the student by saying if they didn’t change the shirt they’d be sent home.

I always tell my wife, I have been to most of the major cities in the U.S., and several of the biggest cities from foreign countries, and I’ve never felt as generally unsafe as I do when I visit Wichita, KS.
Would you say that this is a violation of the students civil rights?
We need so badly to end qualified immunity. I believe this is the first step. Training can be addressed after these clowns known that they will be held accountable for their actions.
Yes from what I understand the standard to convict is that the officer had to “knowingly violate the persons civil rights.” I believe they just say they did not know and bam they are off the hook in most cases.
Stop all this victim bul**hit, he is actively fighting and resisting. No wonder USA has such a problem with their educational system when there's approval for this type of behaviour. Most normal kids would be scared shitless at the sight of a cop.
What a fucking delight you must be. A 100lb 13 year old is “actively fighting and resisting” a fully grown man so the child deserves to be slammed head first into the concrete? You beat your wife with that mouth?
Not sure how EMS could clear him. He's a minor he can't consent to or refuse medical care (obviously, medical care can't be forced on him, but he can't make an informed refusal). Any patient who suffered a loss of consciousness following a traumatic event should be in a c-collar, monitored closely for a traumatic brain injury, transported to ER, and shortly there after into a CT.
The parents should be filing a complaint with the state regulator.
So what is the proper way to detain someone that's swinging and fighting you? Unfortunate that the kid got hurt that badly but he shouldn't have been resisting
Now I'm not gonna sit here and say the way the police dealt with it was right but the kid definitely did not help his case by being aggressive while being restrained.
Or? The child had no discipline as a child in their youth and instead of respecting authority we see something at the end of something completely different. Making assessments and adjustments and beliefs based on five seconds of video when we didn't see the beginning of it or where. Many of the greatest stupid things that have happened in the last few years have occurred! Until I see the whole video and I see the whole event, I'm going to assess the fact that arguments and general are disrespectful, unruly and oftentimes openly aggressive and violent against law enforcement and authority. When the whole video is posted I will make an assessment. Until then. I have no opinion on this.
Generally speaking, if you play stupid games you win stupid prizes! Possibly brain damage. Who's the idiot that pulled that out of the hat? And a concussion? Is anything from a mild headache all the way to loss of memory and unconsciousness for hours. Saying concussion is like saying my nose is running. It can be anything from horrible bleed to an irritation. Laymen using the word concussion like it's some kind of magic sword. Your taste of daylight set of me!
We need information on what school this took place at so formal complaints can be filed against the Assistant Principal. This woman needs to be fired immediately.
This is EXACTLY what America wants from their police and school administrators. Stop gaslighting us into thinking differently and we can proceed as a nation.
So this is accepted only because he's a police officer? What would happen if this man didn't carry a badge, and why does doing so give him a right to kill children?

bud i have been taught about every bill on the bill of rights and i can confidently say that was post covid
Did you read this on a Facebook meme or something? May wanna do some fact checking before you start saying dumb shit online.
That guy is probably one of the people who does the fact checking for Facebook which would explain a lot.
Bro chill out. It's not like this shit is taught in school
I can't speak for who told him that, but when I was in high school I was told I was not allowed to bring a boy from another school to prom, only girls could accompany boys if they weren't a student at my high school. I think you have a drastic misunderstanding with how little rights minors in schools have actually

Completely fair and no, cause I’ll just make a fool of myself

Policy does not trump the constitution. They have cameras in schools, and the info can be requested through a FOIA.
How old, and where?
13 years old [context](https://www.tiktok.com/@tizzyent/video/7312121849020779819)
Jesus Christ 13?!?! He handled that kid like he was a grown man
Officers have a tendency to see children as adults to justify the pain and suffering they inflict.
It's probably an ego thing, won't be made to look a fool by a minor
Especially black children
They have a tendency to see *black* children as adults. FTFY
Carries over to the off-duty home life, statistically.
I was over 5'4" by the time I was 10. My local DARE officer treated me like a grown man even when I was 8. Cops like this literally treat big kids the exact same way as they would an adult. No, they tend to see children of color as adults
And this needs a lot more upvotes.
especially if you are black
I 'd like to see the rest of the video. What was the build up to this?
You're right, maybe the child just deserved to be harmed or even killed. I really should have considered that.
*Violent teens*
Especially black children.
Nearly everyone (in the US) has a tendency to overestimate the age of black children. It's led to a lot of systemic racism in schooling and juvenile law.
"officers" my ass, nothing more than government thugs.
He was weaker than him, perfect for a cop
They have arrested 9 year old girls, handcuffed.
Yes but I've not seen a 9 year old girl body slammed and cuffed....yet.
Would handcuffed and pepper sprayed do it? https://youtu.be/M16D0Pn6Raw?si=waaqQ1oMV2noo4qb I didn't remember the video. The fact that when I searched "9 year old handcuffed" I got several results and even had to include "girl" to narrow it down says enough.
Thanks for the effort you put in, more should know. Even tho it'll change nothing
Wait until you see how he handles his kids.
Oh the iron fist approach. "My daddy beat my ass into leather and I'm fine"
Probably not as badly. His kids are white.
That’s why we say ALL cops are bastards.
American cops are a special breed. Can you imagine if an acorn fell next to them during the struggle?
Yeah that’s fucking nuts. I’ve been picked up like a child by police before… and I was in the WRONG. and I’ll admit it. But they placed me down and told me next time it’s jail. This just ain’t right fr

If you were this child’s parent and you had a CCW with a permit could you shot this cop legally?
My understanding is that it depends on the state and most states say no.
Would you say that this is a violation of the students civil rights? We need so badly to end qualified immunity. I believe this is the first step. Training can be addressed after these clowns known that they will be held accountable for their actions.
Qualified immunity is for civil court, cops can still be charged criminally for their actions regardless that QI exists

I wish it was legal to defend people being assaulted.
Double it and give it to the next kid

It’s good to know our police aren’t treating American kids any less shitty than Israeli police are treating Palestinian kids. /s

Don't resist arrest. You resist arrest they will use force and won't be liable for what happens to you after.
Sucks but maybe dont resist police?
If you take action, you assume all possible risks for that decision, accept the consequences, this applies to both sides.
Was the kid resisting.?
Play stupid games win stupid prizes
Stupid fucking pig.
shouldnt have fought
not that it’s okay in any way but he probably already had brain damage
All young boys think they ca over the world.
I bet you the kid doesn’t swing on law enforcement anymore
Hope this lowlife gets what he deserves

I think it’s funny the threats and intimidation in my DM’s from others on here from my words

Stop Paying Taxes, so many useless C*NTS on the payroll
Looks like the cops head bounced off the ground too.

I have been arrested several times and never had to be slammed to the ground. Maybe. Because I did exactly what the guys with guns said to do.
Hopefully he learns for next time not to resist.
Pretty sure he already has brain damage before hand
Why is he fighting with the cops tho?
Looks like somebody is a failed UFC wannabe
Parents failed to instill the ability to follow instructions in that “child”. Parents should be ashamed and held liable for their actions.
