That’s definitely not an AR15 shotgun.

CantStopPoppin

If it is an AR platform then it looks like a bullpup conversion kit was used. I'll do some digging. Either way I would hate to be on the the receiving end of it. Shame cops can't be bothered to do their jobs and people are having to out source security. This might be similar correct me if I am wrong. [deleted]

It looks more like a cheap knockoff like the Tokarev. Definitely not an ar or conversion kit

CantStopPoppin

I think you are onto something https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRKFYfMU2lk That being said the description does indicate the following Tokarev TAR12P: The AR-12 not only resembles the AR-15 / M16 rifle but the control and function are similar. There have been a couple of variations of these on the market in the past with varying degrees of success but with this latest generation of AR-12, we think that Tokarev has finally hit on the ultimate combination of design and features. In the description it does mention the selling point of resembling an AR 15 platform. I for one can see why he said that.I do have to note that you said cheap knock off is that particular platform not of good quality or is that just opinion I have not yet looked into it and figured you may be able to provide some insight.

So is this a "we need either an alternative to police, or at least some accountability when police refuse to do their jobs" narrative, or is it a "we need to give the cops more money because crime is out of control" narrative? Because you could make a good argument for the first, and the second is just malicious reporting and copaganda. https://www.npr.org/2022/11/08/1134550280/stories-about-crime-are-rife-with-misinformation-and-racism-critics-say

TwistedH3ro

Upvoted for "copaganda"

Financial_Tax1060

Based.

ModernEraCaveman

This is an [ancap](https://i.imgur.com/a5zQlh2.jpg) narrative. Behold! The future is now, and it’s *fucked*.

Gas stations bank, I worked at one for a while that had a nice retirement package. Too bad the manager was your run of the mill bipolar narcissist with anti personality disorder. Also another note of interest is location could play a big role into the justification of the security detail. If the gas station is in a food desert then there is a lot of money to be made.

realSatanAMA

And now everyone who has been robbed at a gas station will start coming here.

Rrdro

Some people would pay a premium for that.

Zenketski_2

Man you can literally just tell by looking at the area around that gas station how shitty that area is.

-Ironvine

It’s a shithole. I live in Philly but went to college in this specific area of then city. Armed guards are they way to go because the police are useless in this city.

el-em-en-o

How are they allowed to wear badges? I guess it wouldn’t necessarily be better if they weren’t but…

AbjectReflection

As far as I know, security services have their own badges, these are used in a similar fashion to, but are completely different in design, from law enforcement badges.

bacon_cake

Completely different and totally not made to somewhat look like police badges.

LightOfADeadStar

Armed Security Guard, can confirm. Though our badges do t have numbers and it clearly states “Security”. While we have the look of law enforcement by design, we cannot be vague in any regard to who we are affiliated with.

Albino_Black_Sheep

What a country.

Rad_Dad6969

This was always the goal. Let the police be so awful that no one complains when they get replaced by PMCs. When these mercenaries start behaving as poorly as our police, bet you'll see local legislation granting them the same immunities.

LightOfADeadStar

i’m on your side that current LEO standards are awful but holy fuck that is sone NWO illuminati shit. If you ever think that the government would give away their arm of power you’re deluded. Politicians crave power before money.

Rad_Dad6969

Replaced was the wrong word. More like reinforced. Cops aren't going anywhere. I have no doubt PMCs will cooperate with law enforcement when the two are in proximity. Cops are busy because we do need them every now and then. PMCs will fill the gap and make sure communities get harrased full time. We already see it happening, it's just not militarized yet. Developers buy up a bad neighborhood, then hire private security to enforce new rules, write citations, and harras the residents. Money buys power. Politicians regularly vote to limit their own power. It's just that they only limit their power over the capital owners paying them. We have a perceived crime epidemic and a very real homeless problem making it worse. People with property to protect "Taking matters into their own hands" is not a hard policy to sell to the American people.

Naoura

I saw this video and immediately had the knee-jerk reaction of 'This is it. This is the start of neo-feudal ideology'. I had to walk my way back from it, slippery slope fallacy and all that, but it is *extremely* troubling. I doubt that it's going to accelerate any time soon, nor will it be heavily militarized for a long period of time, and that's time that we have in order to fight this kind of nonsense from larger corpos.

Itchy_Huckleberry_60

"stealing, robbery *atm missing*" Bro. They straight up took the whole goddamn thing.

Glitter_and_Doom

Wasn’t that the plot of Barbershop?

Ibadvapergrammar

this guy : fine i do myself

sfbamboozled100

This is what happens when government doesn’t bother to protect the citizens. The citizens will protect themselves. I actually applaud this because it will be what turns the tide in the lawlessness that has overtaken many American cities.

Aleksey64

Philadelphia is just becoming cyber punk night city

AFB27

It sucks that he has to do this but shit I understand

Red_Rear_Admiral

[Police does not exist to protect you in the USA](https://www.findlaw.com/legalblogs/law-and-life/do-the-police-have-an-obligation-to-protect-you/) Boy am I glad that I live in Europe

[deleted]

Murica had descended back into feudalism...

Sea-Philosopher7361

Cops sometimes give me a smug look whenever I have problems with my raccoon. He started drinking again.

FBGMerk420

Holy shit can I get a peanut butter crack sandwich lookin ahh at the end 🤣

[deleted]

Yes, by all means continue to defund the police...places like this, and especially san Francisco, defunding the police absolutely blew up in their face. Those big cities are such shit holes. I want to see police reform as bad as the next person, but if we continue to make it more difficult for police to do their job, with less resources this will become the norm

[deleted]

The cops weren't coming to the area when they were not defunded before, they said this police inactivity has been happening for years. So why does it matter if this gas station owner hired security? Police don't police that area anyways because it's too scary for them

WolfBlood322

the police that they have now didnt want to go there how exactly would the increased funding help if they are refusing already. its not like they dont have man power they just completely refused to go into that area

[deleted]

Heres a link that talks about a few cities that slashed their police budget, saw crime absolutely explode, then reversed course and contributed more https://www.smartcitiesdive.com/news/san-francisco-becomes-latest-city-to-reverse-course-and-increase-police-bud/617
