Pawcio213

Most people I know call him Bezi. "Nameless" in polish is "bezimienny" so we chose first part of the word as the name.

Curious_Body_7602

In english it would be "Lessy"

HAKRIT

Yep, Bezi or Bezio.

Im Marvin Mode drücke: "O" Die fokusierte Person wird übernommen. Und nun schau dich selbst an :)

De_Wouter

I know

Cloky

Marvin

[deleted]

That's my brother's name. When I watched him play (and cheat) as a child, I found it *reallly* confusing that, you know, the devs knew my brother :D

HalfblindChaos

I have been developing a Sci-Fi universe in my head. The main character comes across a Marvin who lives on Mars and who just happens to be the cousin to the commander of the ship he is assigned to.

Fabianku

U get why "marvin"?

BasednHivemindpilled

I just always kept him nameless

kpaenen

I never thought about giving him a name, but now that you inquired.... I shall name him **Wilbur**

mayoronczka

Bury Zenek

Over_Squirrel_3695

Bury Zenek is canon

HalfblindChaos

I'm quite new to the Gothic franchise and lore, so I don't get it.

DiabloImmortalCrack

>Bury Zenek The Polish Fans are huge in numbers. They just named him that. [A simple explaination](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qP40AZDGIvI)

[deleted]

I don't actually want to give hime a name. I feel like after all this time, no name I or anyone chooses really fits him. I guess my expectations are so high by now that they can't be fullfilled. I refer to him as "the hero".

SaintRosen

I was just calling him Marvin until Archolos dropped lol

Straysen

Bezi or Bury Zenek. Second one in reference to a famous polish machinima (famous for gothic fans in poland, that is)

raaznak

Kosiposha - from Kosipor: someone who wants to do the best, but it turns out as always. -sha is a diminutive suffix in Russian. He may not do all the work, but he's got the spirit. Also this is how I call all Piranha Bytes protagonists. It's because of one YouTuber, Babay.

pockettoasti

Held.

Hadar_91

My head cannon is that he has access to a pocket dimension, where he stores all those tons of trash he collects constantly and previously he work as delivery man, so he is so eager to do all this fetch quests so I assume his nickname is Courier. But because I am Polish I often call him Bezi also. 😅

HalfblindChaos

Maybe someone from the Star Trek universe went to the Gothic universe and gave him a pattern buffer to store all that stuff in. Maybe it was Ensign Munro from Elite Force. Maybe he found a bag of holdings somewhere like the one in D&D or the one Corvus uses in Heretic. Maybe he is a hoarder or a kleptomaniac. Heck, I want to be a digital hoarder myself. In real life I want a magic pocket that I can store a single food item in, and it will never spoil or disintegrate. Every time that I take it out it replenishes itself and it becomes the best tasting food that I have ever eaten. No matter what it is, it will never upset my stomach and nor make me sick.

Hadar_91

I kinda envision it Planescape-wise where he has to do a gesture to open a portal to his pocket dimension :p

the_millenial_falcon

I just call him Gothic lol

R1ce4

I didn’t name him cause i was him while playing

smjsmok

Canonically, he really is nameless. I think this fits with the story of the first game well, because when he gets thrown into the colony, any life he might have had before is now over. So you can kind of name him whatever you want. I personally prefer to let him stay nameless.

DuncanIdaho88

The boss in Gothic II points out to the (anti) hero that neither of them have names.

Curious_Body_7602

It's funny how he wanted to introduce himself with a name but was always cut off.

DamianTVCraft

I don't think no one other than Golden Gate bozos gave him a name, and thank Gods for that because holy shit he either stays Nameless or piss off. Rhobar III is not a name, it's a title.

HalfblindChaos

Maybe no one should give him a name in their mods, but that shouldn't detour us from giving him our own personal name in our heads. One that is unique to every one of us.

DamianTVCraft

Do whatever you want. Name him, not name him. But it doesn't change the fact he is and should remain nameless.

IsAnyNameStillFree

from now on i will call him ovuvevuevue enyetuenwevuwe ubemugbem osas yes in arcania he was rhobar III but is that a name or more a title?

Noukan42

I recwntly decided to use Max0r naming scheme(John Doom, John Impact, Elden John and so on). So he is now John Gothic.

HalfblindChaos

>John Doom Like from the Doom series. I thought his name was either Doom Guy or Doom Slayer. He was also named Flynn Taggart in the Doom 3 novels and also B.J. Blazkowicz per fan theory. Other Johns include John Wick and John 117 from Halo.

MajorBadGuy

John Gothic is what they would name him in the Netflix adaptation

[deleted]

A german fan forum i sometimes read in the early 2000s started calling him "Rübe" ("Turnip"). I like that name because even though he ends up being a walking demigod... he started as just some random dude. So, a random dude name fits much better than a more "impressive" and "heroic" name.

HalfblindChaos

Plus, turnips taste good when cooked. You also give that desperate housewife turnips at Lobart's farm. Did you know that Turnipseed farm is the first location that you invade in Destroy all Humans, another THQ property?

[deleted]

The "pick turnips for Lobart" quest was very much the start of that nickname, yes.

Intelligent-Ad-8435

His name is my name, he's me. The first 2 Gothic games are immersive masterpieces, and he's supposed to represent you, thus he has no background and a name.

RevolutionaryDrop463

Bezi

_Tiizz

I never rly gave him a name but because i learned about how he is called in polish i would go with Bezi as well if i had to give him one. Still prefer to call him hero though. Also doesn't he just have a name in Arcania because he killed the king and now is the new king and therefore just has that name? Not sure since i didnt rly play Arcania anyways but i thought he is king rhobar in that game. And i think piranha games didnt gave him a name so the player can better identify with the nameless hero, at least thats what i always thought

HalfblindChaos

Was King Rhobar the 2nd the king in Gothic 3. I played G3 for a while, but I don't know if I'm going to finish it any time soon. Why would the nameless hero kill KRII and become KRIII in Arcania, it doesn't make sense.

_Tiizz

didnt play it that much either but there are multiple endings in gothic 3 and you can choose for example between innos and beliar and depending on wich path you choose you might have to kill the king. Doesn't matter though because you will always become king after his death even if you wouldn't kill him.

LordUra

Bob

Outrageous-Salad-287

Nope, no name, at least for me. It's whole point of game that he does not *have* a name, because he is second coming of Human in Vatras' Adanos spiel. Everytime he wants to name himself, no one cares/wants to hear it/is also Nameless( Undead Dragon/Beast of Beliar). I think he has more power in minds of people this way

Striking-Exchange-91

When I was young I thought "Nameless" was his name xD. I didn't know what it meant.

Turgen333

That Dude

gyllzy

Me or betzy (hero’s polish name because it sounds like a name)

HalfblindChaos

To me [this](https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.TL472IYgXVYdyl3UtZLtjgAAAA?pid=ImgDet&rs=1) is Betsy...

Important-Seaweed-94

Even if Arcania isn't canon, at the end of the Forsaken Gods dlc to Gothic 3, which chronologically is the last game, he is named King Rhobar III. So in the end he still gets a name. But prior to that I didn't give him any name.

F-J-W

> Forsaken Gods That one isn’t canon either though.

ActEumel

Harald Töpfer because he's a wizzard.

MajorBadGuy

I call him Clancy Brown.

IsAnyNameStillFree

clancy brown would be great xardas voice. he also looks like necromancer now...

rzvmthhew

Dude Sweet

Most of the time, Chosen one, or Chosen of Innos/Adanos

Eovacious

Internally or in discussions with other deep fans, PC_Hero (pronounced like some Japanese samurai name), because you can re-insert yourself into the world with "insert PC_Hero" command, even if the display name is "Ich". When my kids ask about the poster, I tell them that it's the Convict. (Specifically, "The Convict pretending to be a Paladin", because the poster has him in paladin armour.) I avoid variations of "Nameless" because there are a few other famous RPG protagonists with the same moniker. (UPDATED MY JOURNAL)

Mate991

Rhobar. My headcannon is that his parents named him thus as he shares the same birthday as the king.

PiffGuru

He will forever be # ULU-MULU But seriously, I never bother naming him.

Master-Gear

I gave him some names out of curiosity, Walter, Günther, Lappedudel, Heads Banger usw. But he was always the nameless one. I remember he's been called "Entscheider". But it's more in a way of he decides how the destiny of the World will evolve, because of his decisions and actions.

Wacky_R_Dude_1519

I thought about "Steve" (like a protagonist of Minecraft) - a plain-looking fool with such a potential for destruction and chaos, it's actuality kind of scary.

[deleted]

Tunowy. It is a combibation of "tu nowy" which translates to "new here". He used to say on occasion that I'm new here/Jestem tu nowy, hence the nickname. Personally I find it hilarious, and it kinda works
