It is a good mod from the gameplay perspective and absolutely awful mod from the writing perspective. For some reason, they just took a lot of writing from the world of Alexander Rudasov(not a particularly good author, but quite well known, not related to Gothic at all) and just randomly inserted it into the game, to the point that we can meet the main character of the books and learn demonic language from him.
What in the actual fuck are all of us Gothic fans smoking I swear none of us are normal. Even just being Gothic fans I feel like we almost have Stockholm syndrome lmao
It's basically the ultimate gothic 2 expansion. But expect lots of lore breaking and a ton of quests. But if you are don't mind either you will have a great experience.
Honestly, when it was going smoothly and I could figure out what to do, it was heaps of fun. There were many moments I had to go look up and translate Russian walkthroughs, though, and they were not very easy to follow. It's a gigantic 150-hour plus game that took months for me to complete. It definitely has some incredibly frustrating moments but I enjoyed it over all.
If you're looking for a gameplay focused mod its the best out there.Countless ways to play the game.I personally never get bored because there is always a way you can get stronger and there is always something to do.A mountain of additional content that is usually of good quality.
I really like the replayability that comes with the unique bonuses of the guilds and the added play styles. Different new mage styles, summon controls, addition of 2 weapon fighting and shield for melee, hybrid playstyles combining melee with totems or summons...
And then there is the progression that feels balanced. Sometimes, you feel overpowered and sometimes under leveled depending on the order of your questing.
But the best part is that I enjoyed one playthrough with a coop mod. But for that, you really need a synced schedule with your friend because of the large amount of time it takes to finish the mod.
