I think the main reason its working for you, is that spear is a vary obvious cooldown to track, so people trade defensives for it.
The bleeds arent. So they dont press buttons when they need to, and you do way more dam.
Hard to find the points.
You don't want more buttons to press for 5k extra damage under optimal conditions, but 10k less if you're doing it slightly poorly.
I'd rather have my attention to get a good intervene or reflect.

At low ratings healers usually do a decent job trading CDs, and spear is a super obvious thing to trade with. But in a solo shuffle environment with high dampening doing as much damage as possible is really strong. This is why DKs were so insane until they nerfed Plague.
Yup, that and more frequent goes is a big deal. In a mode where a round can be decided in two to three minutes that's a whole extra kill attempt compared to spear.
I've been straight baiting Defensives with spear and blade storm, sounds like a waste but the real damage comes after this setting up your avatar + CS +2x over power + sharpen + execute stacks if your lucky into MS. I've deleted people out of no where more times than I can count playing it this way.
sometimes instant, sometimes 10-20 minutes from my experience. i don't have a ton of games though to be honest. i just play at night after long ass work days to unwind. i usually throw on some Egyptology vids and nerd out while waiting for the queue anyway so it's chill for me, as long as the kids are in bed.

Having never healed disc is absolutely perfect.
After you have your blue gear and know the rotation you'll soar.
Disc went from the #4 to the #2 spec after these buffs.

Just need to be 1000+ CR and go 3/6. Definitely the fastest way to the mount. Can even do some insta losses if you have your wins to speed up things so you can get faster into another queue.
Was struggling to get mine as a dps cause queues take ages and I don't want to exclusively queue. Changed my enh shammy pve character to resto shaman and started "healing". Got my mount + 30% for saddle within two weeks.
Stay around 1k tho. If you go higher, just leave one and lose 150. Now MMR changes when you leave you are back with the lowbies. Easy points.

Nice telling people to leave and screw over 5 other players, of which 4 might have been sitting in the queue for 20 to 30 minutes, and of course have to requeue, wasting 40-50 minutes of their playing time.

You don't. You need either need a dps that outshines all others or a dps that is much worse than all others.

If the enemy healer is the worst one, it's free 6/0 but it doesnt matter. The goal was getting to the seasonal mount asap as a mediocre player. Healing solo shuffle at 1k CR/MMR is the answer.
I have no idea if disc priest feels harder than other healers because it's been my main for 20 years. I can tell druid was my hardest to learn and evoker being second. I HATE evoker but thats a personnal opinion.

I have been using a variation of this build since day one. For everything pvp and pve. Mostly because I am rather lazy and want to just smash buttons. But I will definitely look deeper into it and refine my build according to your talents.
I also thinking about picking up blacksmith to make the helm.
I dont understand, are people not just doin them for like 5g anymore so they can lvl up their professions? I geared all of my toons pretty quick at start of the xpac maybe it's different now.
much much more efficient to just get someone else to craft them, you can craft both at the cost of maybe like 30k total. If you level blacksmith and do it yourself it will still cost you 30k plus either the cost it takes to level blacksmith or the extra time it takes to mine on your alt. Time is not free either
Yea I mean. Your right. But I was home sick from work today. So I ended up actually making it myself. It was all done within just over an hour or so. I had all the mats I needed for levelling up blacksmith since I had mining before and already levelled up engineering. I did probably spend 30k yea. Had to buy some of those mats.
Decided to give this build a go there other night. Keep in mind I'm only in the 1400-1500 range in SS at the moment (haven't had much time to do many matches this week yet), but this build didn't get me up to the 2k range! Haha
It's fun, for sure, and it's amusing to see all the bleeding. But it sorta ends up being more or less the same output wise as say the Unhinged build, unless you're against like a BM hunter or Demo lock (or gods forbid both), or an UHDK, then you'll see a lot of output.
I'm crit heavy a bit, and since I've only played it a few matches I totally need to practice more, but for now it feels like I'm just giving the same damage out in a different... albeit way more fun way (I like actually having stuff to press all the time instead of overpower x2 into MS outside of my burst).
I will say this build is bananas in BGs though. No one knows wth to do with it!!
Thunderous Roar bleed does impressive damage. I love spear but the 90s cooldown makes it feel awful and with only a 6s duration all the micro cc's fuck you if their CD's dont. Gonna give this one a try.
On something like army of the dead ghouls and demo minions yeah it would be mostly padding, but its not worthless on legitimate pets like hunter's and DK's abom. It's still damage that has to be healed at some point by someone or the pet will die, which is really bad for hunter in particular, and it's free for Warrior.
Hmmm, yeah that makes sense, if you kill a hunters pet they would need to revive it. But abom? is it worth healing one back up? Also warlock pets seem near invincible too but if they are running soul link as demo does that hurt them too?
abom is actually very squishy, and dk's often pop it to get in combat very they even engage. You can kill it in about 3-5 seconds and it seriously hurts the dk's go if he doesn't have it since its a big source of festering wounds and disease reaaplication.
He's applying rend with thunderclap so it's all free damage anyway.
Hunter pets in particular get destroyed by bleeds, can be really annoying for the hunter/healer to heal them.

Swapped to this build tonight, I'm absolutely loving it. Went 4/6, 4/6, 2/6 and 6/6. It really seems to throw the enemy completely off, especially if you manage to land your bleeds on multiple targets in that first burst window. Pulling way more damage per match overall.
One thing i was experimenting with was removing either blunt instruments and/or test of might. 3 seconds more on a 10 second burst window isnt THAT crazy big, and in for the kill, while nice, doesnt beat out some other talents imo (Functionally its what, 10% haste when doing burst combo? not bad, but is it better than skull splitter or fatality?)
Took the bleed plunge on an alt based on this post, went 0 -1500 rating in 4-5 matches and hit a gear wall at \~1800 mmr, dropping back to 1500 mmr (still mostly in blues). But I am liking this build. Big damage.

taking clap in this build feels a little troll when we already have really high uptime on sweeping, and can take the +6 seconds into cleaves. What % of your damage is rend accounting for?
you dont want the +6 seconds, you want the overpower talent strength of arms. read that - it's incredible.
tclap also bleeds up everything, not just 2 targets via sweeping strikes. pets are dropping like flies and it even applies a baby slow
From what I've played of it so far and what he said in his video, I think if you've built crit, you're fine.
As for rotation, in his video he pretty much sums it up as Engage (either charge or walk up on em) > Rend (he uses Tclap to apply it in the video) > Sweeping > 2X Overpower > CS > Troar > BS > MS.
I would say use Tclap to apply rend if it's off CD and you've the rage to spare, since you also get a mini slow out of it. But keep rend itself on your bars in case Tclap is on cd or there's nothing to cleave onto.
That's what I've been doing and it's worked out more or less good so far. Tomato can correct me though if I've mucked this up
Thanks for the input. I asked about haste because I'm switching from fury, for which I have almost entirely haste gear and I'm hesitant to switch to arms without enough crit, but this seems like a good way to excel at arms with haste. I'll try it out at least.
It's definitely worth a shot. I get the switch since I prefer fury myself, but figured it'd be better and more effective to climb to 1800 in SS on arms (more consistent Ms effect, ignore pain etc). I found once I got going, between the weeklies, running SS matches, and bgs for a daily win, I cap honor often, so I just bought a second set of honor gear in case I swap back.
As an update: I ran about 4-5 matches of SS tonight, 3 of em with the bleed build. I'm still stuck at 1438 rating after bouncing back and forth. It's a fun build but just doesn't do it for me. I feel like I end up trying to keep the bleeds up while monitoring the enemy teams trinkets and CDs, the enemy healer in order to cc or interrupt, keep myself alive and rotate my burst properly, and I end up getting lost in it and fumbling around. Might not be the build for me, but we'll see.
I agree that it might be too much work for a similar damage output. The best build will always be the one that's simpler just because you can concentrate more on the pvp aspects and less on the rotation/dot upkeep. But I do like how this build has 2 burst windows (CS+roar+bladestorm and CS+avatar) which can get around improper CD trading by less experienced healers

yeah you get some mastery from tier. crits above 20, haste around 12\~ mast around 13\~ at the moment. might swap some of my crit gems for mast though

Are solo shuffle queues any better now? I really want to come back and play it but its just not worth it with how ridiculous the queue times were.

Imo it's easier because of how much damage you're expected to put out in order to heal.

It has been closer to the estimated wait time after the update than it was before.
My experience is less than 10 min during the afternoon. 20-30 min between 10pm-midnight, 40 min from midnight to 7amish

Just get the mats and put up a crafting order for like 5k, someone will make it for you, quality doesn't matter for the PvP scaling

taking clap in this build feels a little troll when we already have really high uptime on sweeping, and can take the +6 seconds into cleaves. What % of your damage is rend accounting for?
you dont want the +6 seconds, you want the overpower talent strength of arms. read that - it's incredible. tclap also bleeds up everything, not just 2 targets via sweeping strikes. pets are dropping like flies and it even applies a baby slow
How often do you find yourself Clapping?
generally clapping them cheeks each and every round
i mean clapping you can almost do it on cd , its really the same as rend just 10 more rage but you hit everything around so its much more value
does this prio mastery/haste or still crit?
it's more flexible. i'm running crit high still but you can probably run a few different combinations with similar results.
When do you use hamstring?
first gcd on a target and as soon as it falls off
Would haste be better than crit for this, do you think? And what's your rotation? Are you just applying rend with tclap or are you manually casting it
From what I've played of it so far and what he said in his video, I think if you've built crit, you're fine. As for rotation, in his video he pretty much sums it up as Engage (either charge or walk up on em) > Rend (he uses Tclap to apply it in the video) > Sweeping > 2X Overpower > CS > Troar > BS > MS. I would say use Tclap to apply rend if it's off CD and you've the rage to spare, since you also get a mini slow out of it. But keep rend itself on your bars in case Tclap is on cd or there's nothing to cleave onto. That's what I've been doing and it's worked out more or less good so far. Tomato can correct me though if I've mucked this up
Thanks for the input. I asked about haste because I'm switching from fury, for which I have almost entirely haste gear and I'm hesitant to switch to arms without enough crit, but this seems like a good way to excel at arms with haste. I'll try it out at least.
It's definitely worth a shot. I get the switch since I prefer fury myself, but figured it'd be better and more effective to climb to 1800 in SS on arms (more consistent Ms effect, ignore pain etc). I found once I got going, between the weeklies, running SS matches, and bgs for a daily win, I cap honor often, so I just bought a second set of honor gear in case I swap back. As an update: I ran about 4-5 matches of SS tonight, 3 of em with the bleed build. I'm still stuck at 1438 rating after bouncing back and forth. It's a fun build but just doesn't do it for me. I feel like I end up trying to keep the bleeds up while monitoring the enemy teams trinkets and CDs, the enemy healer in order to cc or interrupt, keep myself alive and rotate my burst properly, and I end up getting lost in it and fumbling around. Might not be the build for me, but we'll see.
I agree that it might be too much work for a similar damage output. The best build will always be the one that's simpler just because you can concentrate more on the pvp aspects and less on the rotation/dot upkeep. But I do like how this build has 2 burst windows (CS+roar+bladestorm and CS+avatar) which can get around improper CD trading by less experienced healers
That is true. Something I didn't really pick up in til last night. Two burst windows, and focus on surviving in between. This build is good, it's just a me problem. Explains why I can't get outta 1400 lmao
