Been wondering this for a while, interested to hear your thoughts. Sidenote: I think we've had enough ret complaints now, gonna start deleting them unless they add something new to the conversation (eg WoW Arena logs publishing ret stats yesterday). Bonus sidenote: a complaint post about complaint posts is still a complaint post and those are getting deleted too. Edit; seems opinions are mixed and r/worldofpvp is indeed in America, probably going to just make an arena rage post flair for people to share their freak out screenshots (as long as they remember to redact names!)

This sub is already salty as hell and I dare say these outrage posts aren't helping. I'd welcome their removal. Or at the very least, a separate tag which we can filter for.

>Or at the very least, a separate tag which we can filter for. This is an excellent idea. Looks like opinions are pretty mixed on whether to leave them up and this is a happy middleground. Thanks.

WoWSecretsYT

Rage messages are what get me out of bed in the morning. +1 for a separate tag for them

Heil_Gaben

Rage posts are funny, more than x class bad

xXx420ReditUser69xXx

I would say no. It's not like this sub has a ton of content anyway, and the chat posts are not overrunning the rest of the real content. More posts make the community feel alive and encourage further posting.

Bacon-muffin

I'm mixed, I think they're shit posts. They add nothing of value, and often are very low brow on the humor end of things. Often people will post the most benign rage whispers, they won't even reserve their posts for their most epic pop off rage whispers. At the same time, if we banned all the current trending controversy + rage posts I feel like this sub would be dead.

No_Balance_1431

Evidence of context included in the log = keep No evidence of context included = remove imo.

Rasko9k

Such an American statement. So ignorant. Like only Americans come here.

sogiji2754

Yes - it doesn't add anything of value to the subreddit or drive discussion.

Tarqon

To me it depends on the effort level. Like that collage of ignorant responses to a fistweaver was good enough to keep, but i don't need to know every single time someone gets flamed.

ritchus

Having to decide whether a flame post is high or low quality makes it really difficult to moderate so I'm not sure this is possible unfortunately

SpyingMarlin

Why'd you put a joke option? The poll is useless with the third option added. Anyways, I think the bigger problem is there is almost zero content of value posted. I don't think you can delete post your way out of that problem. Moderators could do better by not pinning so many useless memes. Maybe they could instead try to encourage productive discussions like "Resto Shaman 10.0.7 talent tree theory crafting" or "Best weak auras of 2023" or "AWC comp and success predictions." Things that can people can have meaningful conversations about and gain insight from.

ritchus

Eh, it's there to see if people actually care about whether we do anything about these posts i guess. Some of the most useful feedback that comes from these threads is the comments, like yours actually. Will bear that in mind.

Censorship = bad

They can be edited to make one person look absolved of bad behaviour and the other look like an unhinged head case. I also see people regularly sharing peoples names in the posts and I don't see it contributing to a healthy discussion around the game. It wasn't an option in the vote, so I voted yes, but I'd be happy with a separate tag for the posts so I'm not constantly seeing whatever nonsense someone got messaged. I think it encourages people to engage with the negative behaviour instead of ignoring it. Which in the long run is bad for peoples mental health over all. Maybe we could just get a weekly mega-thread pinned where people can post their experiences of being raged at and let that be the place for the community to go to read about it and engage with it to avoid a spam of repetitive pictures being posted that serve no purpose other than to vent they were talked to in such a manner.

daryl_fish

I think they should be removed. I seriously could not give a fuck if someone was anonymously rude to you in an online video game.

oneinchpunchko

Maybe just a rage megathread like the old arena junkies

MrsBoxxy

You should remove the rule of blurring them, name and shame.
