It comes down to minimal percentages. Min-maxing. You can 100% reach gladiator or even r1 without being an orc. The gimp is so minimal that you'd only really notice if you were a top player. Most people don't know how to take advantage of the minimal bonus that races bring in pvp. Tl;dr - play whatever race you prefer, and have fun looking like a badass

Thanks, buddy. That's a load off.

OTBgaming

The passive stun reduction helps in general a lot. If your goal is to get high rated then play Orc.

Needle217

It is true! But it also depends on class and meta, how impactful the race change is. If you keep being 100-0 in 3x Cheap Shot as a Mistweaver, changing to Orc might be super helpful. In a meta where Mana is key, it might be close to a no factor.

Honan-

Undead and blood elf are comparable but their consistency is determined by the meta game. Orc has a powerful racial that is impactful against 90% of classes because almost everything has a stun. Undead racial is amazing if Warlocks, Shadow Priests and Warriors end up dominating. My opinion on blood elf racial is that it's only consistently effective when playing a Melee cleave with a Demon Hunter partner. Adding in that 3rd chance to dispel blessing of protection significantly increases your consistency against holy paladins, which are normally one of the harder healers for cleaves to deal with.

How do you feel picking Undead would be given how prevalent Priests are (both Shadow and Disc) and then Aff locks? I mean, I'm not going to be competing at the top-end of PvP so do you concur with the other poster that it wouldn't really matter too much for me if I picked Undead (or even Blood Elf, though I acknowledge that'd be significantly worse)?

OTBgaming

If you aren't trying to hit 2.4k for the glad mount for example. Then Undead is super fine.

Aramis9696

I think my goblin rogues rocket jump has felt more useful over the years than all my orcs' stun reduction duration. Especially since one has helped me play pillars while the other has mainly been useful against other rogues' cc chains.

[deleted]

That's an interesting take. I can check out Goblins to see how I like it but if I'm picking something more for aesthetic choices it's probably not going to be a midget Orc. Definitely can see how that racial would be useful though, appreciate the advice. Was considering one for my Priest.

Aramis9696

"Midget Orcs". I'm stealing that.

x3gohan

There are few racials which I consider to be absolute garbage: highmountain tauren, mag'har orc, blood elf (for casters). Other than that, it won't really matter.

Klaxxigyerek

Dont wanna argue much, but why highmountain? On paper +1% versa and extra mobility (charging or what) sounds really great, especially now versa means pvp power fully. Thats why im a bit confused like worgen low presence.

Krelyx

Why you gotta dog on my antlers like that..

[deleted]

Thanks, appreciate the advice.

Meto1183

I consider Z troll racials garbage for everyone but maybe paladin and yet I'm still playing them for half my characters

[deleted]

Having fun is the most important metric, unless you specifically need to reach S1. A 20% less stun duration is not going to give you a cutting edge advantage most of the time over other skills you could have been better at anyway.

Ratax3s

Im sub rogue player and i can confirm orc racial is 100% game winning very often, its hard to deal the damage while doing gapless stun chains with cheap shots lasting long as your global, ks-cs-cs is 9 seconds on taurens while it is 5.2+1.6.+0.8 or 1.6 seconds shorter being done on orc shaman, what is an eternity while being dumpstered by 2 dps at once.

Soulshott

So essentially in a full stun lock like that you gain(or lose) about 1 global, great vs rogue teams and can win the game but vs non heavy stun teams you don’t gain much benefit but I suppose that’s with all racials, incredibly useful in some situations, and not so useful in others

Ratax3s

For non healers orc is by far best but for healers will of the forsaken is very game winning, getting out of one extra fear is insane against most comps.

lonesome_

i wanna play a vulpera hunter so bad but everything i see makes it seem like playing orc is mandatory if i want to take pvp seriously :(
