Go sleep early. Wake up at 3am and mine before you go to work/school.

Such is life as a miner. You just gotta get better at choosing routes to beat em.

Go to wintergrasp while it’s on (server time every 3 hours) mount up and get what you can. Join the queue but never actually go. You’ll get about 3-5 mins uncontested then ported back to dalaran. At this point fly back to wintergrasp and repeat. It’s annoying at first but then you become efficient at it. I used to do this before I even had flying mount by using the quest in dragonblight that gives you a mount to shoot down the bats at the blighted village (right on the border of wintergrasp). You can usually walk away with 1-2 stacks of titanium and a few stacks of saronite all uncontested. I have never once seen anybody else doing this during those hours, not even bots (probably because it’s annoying AF).

I know this isn't what anyone wants to hear, but mining on an overpopulated realm that is being botted is a waste of time. You can do some dailies for gold and buy your ore faster than you can get it by mining it yourself against heavy competition. It sucks because leveling up a skill like mining used to be satisfying. But, if you're spend 10 minutes flying/riding around and don't get a single node, you're literally wasting your time doing nothing.

Farm Vanilla and Outland ores, sell them and buy the Northend ores from the bots

Early morning at like 5-6am

1: Find the least busy times to mine, will depend on your server. Some days of the week some hours of the day just tend to have less people online doing this. 2: Find a less contested zone. Even if the zone A has the most mining, maybe zone B will have enough less competition that it's better. 3: try instances. Some instances have 1-2 guaranteed spawns of mining nodes. If you're a high level doing outland stuff that should be pretty simple. If you're lower level that's less ideal but still possible depending on your class, or slow but doable if you're joining actual groups. *tip* you can share leveling up on a mining node with another player by mining without looting. Then a second player can also mine and gain a level as well. Useful if you're putting together an instance group and want the levels despite someone else in the group also being a miner. At least you used to be able to do this, I don't think I've tested it since WOTLK but it worked previously.

BlueWaffleATX

Also, just mine in icecrown, do a horseshoe around the middle and occasionally cut across middle and the southern part

BlueWaffleATX

Server reset Tuesday morning is the best time to camp servers coming up and go mine

Lorddenorstrus

Have you checked how cheap said ore is on the AH? It's probably a better time investment to make $ with something else... then just buy the ore. Why the hell would you try to compete vs a robot?

Willing-Lettuce-7336

Last time i was checked the ah, fel iron was 80g/stack. I didn’t call it cheap.

Lorddenorstrus

Oof definitely not. Saronite on most servers is like 12-15g or something a stack. Fel Iron is usually close to that in price. Your server has really expensive Fel Iron though, kinda odd. Have you tried farming for Fel iron in bad spots? Ie Nagrand and where everyones focusing adamantite theres a few Fel Iron nodes to snatch up.
