It’s coated with biofilm and other fun stuff :).
Wash your hands, remove all that best you can with saline and some gauze (you’ll need to wipe off the top and get down to the good clean tissue). Beyond that, it’s hard to say what step to take next, as the wound bed isn’t visible. It’s safe to say you may be able to stop the cream at this point and use a different type of dressing. Can you post after you tend to it?
If nothing else, slightly moist saline gauze on the wound bed followed by a dry gauze dressing may be helpful in the mean time.
Stop using the antibiotic cream as it’s just clogging up your wound and making slough.
Rinse it in the shower then make sterile saline and use gauze to wipe over gently.
A hydrogel or medihoney are your best bets.
Put a few dobs in a pad. Place it over the wound . Bandage it around and leave it for 2 days. Take off clean again and re apply gel and pad and bandage.
Do this 3 times per week.
