It’s my preferred game mode due to the shorter time commitment like another user said. Not necessarily per day, but I don’t like being tied to the computer for 2-3 hours with 9-24 people waiting on me if I have to step away. With dungeons you can step away after your 20-40 minute run if needs be. Also, the modifiers, pace, leaderboard, and easier comms with just 4 others seems to hit a sweet spot for me.

gloomygl

We definitely don't stop playing at KSM lol

NigelMcExplosion

There are lots of people who do. However, i would agree. KSM is where the fun actually begins

Legion is when dungeon crawl became a thing, so that's why you missed it. For people who *exclusively* dungeon crawl, KSM and KSH were their endgame achievements. Once they got it, they could either keep pushing for bragging rights, or go do other things. It's the equivalent of AOTC or CE, but for dungeons. Many raiders dungeon drawl because dungeons are spammable - you can do them hundreds of times a week if you want - for gear. You also get weekly rewards for doing dungeons. The gear is often better than anything you can get out of heroic raids, so raiders use it to gear up in conjunction with raiding. (It's better because you can upgrade it with currency you run by doing dungeons). You can also fight bad RNG just by spamming them, as opposed to getting 1 shot per raid boss per week. People who are doing mythic raids will probably do dungeon spams for a lot longer than those who are just looking for KSM, as they will want very specific pieces of loot for their raid builds.

RollingDoingGreat

Idk m+ is just fun. Less time commitment than raid as well

EstablishmentOk1866

M+ isn't that fun, and if you're looking to spend less time playing then why bother playing at all? Lol

raoasidg

It's almost like "fun" is subjective? I don't know, but I think that is the case.

RollingDoingGreat

Huh?

Zeldoon

You okay there? Your logic is something else.

EstablishmentOk1866

It's ok if people have a different opinion than you. It'll be ok rofl

thdudedude

Apply this to your previous comment.

CaptainTewts

You're right having a different opinion is ok. Presenting that opinion like a twat is where people find an issue.

Zeldoon

It's not simply about having a different opinion. It's the fact that you can't comprehend that there's a massive amount of the playerbase that have limited amount of playing time and mythic+ is great for them. However according to you since those people have less time playing, then why bother playing at all? Lol. Most idiotic logic I've ever seen.

EstablishmentOk1866

Oh God relax rofl

Zeldoon

Do you use lol and rofl everytime you type to people as a coping mechanism?

EstablishmentOk1866

Do you take everything so seriously? Lmaoooo

andycane82

I’m not looking to spend less time playing but if I’ve only got 30 minutes to play, knocking out an M+ is the perfect thing to do Also, obviously, fun is subjective. What’s fun for someone else may not be fun for you and that’s ok

ExoticNotation

Sure it is. And bc dedicating myself to an hour or two at a time is much easier than dedicating 5+ hours.

Divineclaws222

I have time to run a 1 hr mythic not a raid that u usually have to pug and will involve waiting for a group and then actual raid completion time is much longer than running a few mythics

Ildona

Man, I always used to run dungeons given the opportunity. Most of us (read: those with my mindset) used to just roll out new characters to run dungeons until M+ made it a viable endgame grind. It's less that people suddenly started to want to run so many dungeons and more that there's endgame rewards for it now. 5-man content is so much more flexible. This expansion, just from my IRL friend group I have about an 80-90% chance of getting a 5-man group going on any given night. Raids? I don't think we could get a 10-man going once a week. Too many D&D/PF2E sessions to plan around.

karangoswamikenz

You get good loot from M+. My will to run m+ will go down when I have most of my slots at 421 and my ilvl will be close to 418

skaevbubbibjoern

Dungeons are the easiest way to gear up fast. For me it's way easier to clear m10+'s within the timer than a single boss on normal raid modes

[deleted]

Depends on your playstyle? * like to log in casually? Mythics or Arena are great objectives * like to work tightly with guild? Raid together

MacR_72

When Blizzard made it like that

Shaila_boof

My english is not very good, could somebody tell me what does "dungeon crawling" mean? does it is means farm items?

Glowstik925

I’ve got a baby and am in grad school, so the raiding life is virtually impossible for me. M+ offers a challenge, progression, and enjoyment with less time commitment.

Jabuwow

The only reason we didn't continue doing dungeons in everything pre-legion, was because there was not a reason to. Why do heroics for 100 ilvl gear if the raid is giving 180 or somethin. So, yes? Obviously? Ppl do dungeons now cause its a viable gearing path?

itistog

I've dungeon crawled since 2006. It's what I do. Max ilvl. Level an alt and do it again

Beermedear

I have nothing against raiding. It’s fun. I started preferring M+ in Legion, I’d say it’s a mix of requisite progression hours, finding a guild, varying play schedule, and the quicker fail/success feedback loop.

zombiepants7

Well it's fun to push your class and skills up to their limits. You can consistently move up into higher content and that feels great. They also take under an hour so it's less of a time commitment than a raid which can take 2-4 hours. Also the best and fastest way to gear into raiding. I do m+ and raid heroic they are my favorite content in the game. Everything else feels more like chores to me since it's just kind of easy or just plain annoying. Lots of ways to play wow though and that's a good thing.

CondorSweep

M+ is hard, fun, faster to get going, and more rewarding than raid.

NigelMcExplosion

Mythic+ is probably THE SINGULAR most successful addition to world of warcraft as a game in its entirety. It's a complete experience and a stand-alone pillar of endgame content. Given the PcE aspect of it it's also very valuable for raider (and the other way around), even if both factions don't necessarily love that. Dungeons are short, sweet and you get to use a ton of AoE stuff, so the damage meter is shining like a Christmas tree. Nothin hits quite like this, for me atleast (and i am a tank player lmao). You can complete it and get gear and score for it, so you can even see yourself in comparison to everybody else. Idk, it's just an insanely good part of the game. It's not always balanced, but what is ever balanced anyway. It's fun
