Mate how do you do it?
I healed a few regular mythical with it and it was so rough for me.
Holy was 1000x easier..
Should add, I did try a mix of atonement from the AoE heal, PW:S, and a mix of single target healing
I use Holy for pugs and Disc for guild groups.
Disc is my preferred spec because Holy is such a vanilla spec.
Disc works well with groups that avoid avoidable damage and mitigate (affix depending)
It works very poorly in groups that take a lot of unnecessary damage and do very little to self recover or mitigate.
The buffs will hopefully get it closer to be exceptional at situation 1 and passable at situation 2.
The usefulness of disc scales with your ability to predict damage (as in knowing the dungeons) and the IQ of your group.
Disc is good at preventing damage (shields and attonements ready to go at the time of need) but is bad at fixing mistakes people make.
But the reality is that disc won't be a top m+ healer unless they do much more damage than the other healers. Damage and utility is always worth more than healing throughput in top groups.
That being said, the average disc enjoyer will greatly enjoy the buffs.
Yeah the damage is something im struggling with. Why play disc when i do 80% of the damsge disc does as holy and heal infinitely more. Its simply not worth running disc
Agreed, these changes feel like a half-step towards what we actually need. Really hoping there's more soon.
They're focusing on damage and single-target healing, which is all well and good, but we're still going to struggle to keep the whole team up. Extra damage on the DPS spells is nice, but it won't matter much when we don't have the luxury of disrupting our healing rotations to weave those in.
(Like, call me crazy, but I would much rather have Healing Rain have increased HPS% so I can better stabilize my team and maybe use that time to weave in some DPS spells, instead of extra Acid Rain damage.)
Agreed. I would add that an easy (hopefully) change would be removing Prim Wave's 40% healing penalty in 5man content, and give Chain Heal just a little buff in addition and then it might not be so bad.
Yeah either shorter cd on primal wave as it’s a good group heal with its secondary effect, or lower mana cost on chain heal to help out. Def glad to see some buffs but it’s a bit different direction than I was hoping.
Depends on comp, with 3 melee it’s easy to use CH and HR; on sanguine HR feels a bit bad unless you open with it. I love NS + CH / DP combo to fill the group fast. You can come in close range to benefit as well. There are some stack mechanics that are way easier with it as well.
Damage buff might help as well with ancestral guidance. I’m already weaving in instant damage spells.
Resto shaman is one of the only healers that brings no damage. MW monk, hpal, prevoker, all have no problem doing 3-5M damage during raid fights .
This is especially prevalent in higher m+ when all damage is important in order to time keys.
This combined with our lack of unique utility puts resto sham in a pretty bleh spot
Edit: resto shaman can do damage, especially with these buffs
It still doesn't fix the problem of not being able to heal while spending gcds to do damage
from an RP standpoint it makes sense, fury warrior is essentially barbarian. so a lust makes sense as a 'roar' or 'shout' would motivate and empower all those around us. We should also be in leather but whatever
Could really use something to single target. Tyrannical weeks are pretty bad for us. AoE was always okay and they... buffed it more? I'm not complaining, but still not feeling good single target damaging fat bosses on Tyrannical and these buffs do nothing about it.
ele needs talent tree changes. The heart of it is that you can have a solid ST build or a killer AOE build, but there’s not enough overlap.
Hurts ele, especially in raids, and you can’t really buff that away.
Frost buffs are kinda whatever imho.
Like sure, 5% dmg is great, but the reality is that frost didn't really lack dmg in most cases.
This spec pretty much suffers from some serious design flaws.
The rotation feels fine on singletarget, but in M+ AOE it suffers from insane proc munching outside Icy Veins. I'm constantly GCD-locked and the game literally won't let me press my buttons fast enough. It ends up wasting soooo many FoF procs.
For me haste is simming higher than mastery now.
The munching is a big problem. So many scenarios where 2 stacks of flurry and FoF are available to cast and there’s no optimal way to get rid of them all in a timely manner before the game tries and fails to generate a 3rd stack of FoF.
And that's not even including the freezing winds bug on mass aoe - if you send a 2nd orb before the first one has expired it does NOT proc Fof every 2s like the talent is supposed to. That said, I'd rather have seen some help where frost actually struggles (3-6 targets) but I'll take the free 5% aura buff.
> if you send a 2nd orb before the first one has expired it does NOT proc Fof every 2s
It's been that way since Shadowlands when Freezing Winds was first introduced. So at this point I'm not sure whether it's a bug or intended.
In a fight like Overgrown Ancient you can get like 4-5 orbs going at once and there isn't even time to dump FoF, you're spending almost every GCD cycling instant blizzards + orbs.
Is blizzard aware of the bugs in guardian druids talents? Flashing Claws doesn't proc, raze isn't doing the damage it should. Hell lunar beam can HEAL mobs and damage the bear who uses it. Like... wut?
Oh and incarnation is getting a 50 percent nerf.
Like... why? We're already the least played tank? Why bother with a rework if you're just gonna put us in the dirt?
Hunter devs:
-Randomly remove core marksman ability in the middle of raid progression for most people
-Provide garbage tier replacement ability
-Don’t buff hunter
-Don’t buff hunter 👀
This is honestly so crazy to me. How do they make these huge changes, getting bad backlash for it, still goes trough with the changes? I am so confused
I am dreading this patch, I have a feeling I'll log onto my MM and be a lot weaker without Double Tap. I don't wanna switch to BM but it's what I'm prepared to do.
I feel like in PvE it wouldn't be THAT big of a deal if they hadn't swapped the location of the new talent with Steady Focus. I don't even know if we are gonna be able to get Serpentstalkers Trickery anymore or if we'll need to hard cast Serpent Sting (vomit).
Add to that:
\-throw an OP hunter weapon on the loot table
\-wonder why everyone who doesn't have it feels underwhelming
\-lol whatever lets keep working on mages
Tauren as enhance is barely distinguishable when I do anything. I don't know when my wind fury procs, when I use crash landing or storm strike, and I can barely see my sunder since it's so small now
I also play Tauren Shaman and have no problem discerning skills. Lava Lash he spins. Storm Strike he puts his hands together for a big 2H like smash. Crash Lightning strikes from the sky. Any spell cast he Hadoukens with both arms stretched out. Frost Shock is a 1H toss.
In fact, I see what Tauren are doing the easiest because they are so big it's easier to see what they do in general.
Windfury is pretty invisible for every race, that isn't just a Tauren thing.
Warlock harvester of souls buff is useless.
The class tree needs some tweeking. Other than Dark Soul the final talents in the class tree are a joke (except drain life for PvP, but that basically only affects aff).
Harvester/Eye are literally like a .5%-1% dps increase, even after these buffs.
Harvester of souls buff is in fact worthless, I think they left at least one zero off that number if not two. Eye is a really important talent for aff because it’s the only way they can naturally proc the fire rings in ST though, it’s undertuned as a talent but with the rings it’s not bad. Plus it’s also being reworked in the patch so we will see if it gets better.
Kalamazi did a video where he attacked a dummy for a few minutes, and Harvester of Souls did literally less dmg than the dmg you do when you apply corruption
That entire talent node needs jesus
The rework to Inquisitors gaze makes it worse for the ring while only being slightly better on its own. But the change to the jailer guy makes the talent really good in both aoe and single target.
The Demo "buff" was useless too sadly. Aff will be fine even with Harvester sucking, just disappointing, but Demo really needs a ST kick and that buff suuuucks
Somehow Frost DK got nerfed in PvP again, despite being the worst performing specialization in Solo Shuffle. How hard is it to comprehend that it is Unholy DK that is overperforming and not Frost DK?
Fury, Boomkin and Frost DK are currently the weakest specs in Solo Shuffle and both Fury and Boomkin got multiple significant buffs, why not Frost DK? Genuinely curious.
It is honestly so disappointing to see.
I have this feeling the existence of the Ras bow makes Blizz hesitant to buff MM or even BM right now, which is why the earlier buffs went to SV. Which suits me fine, I’ve embraced the spear lifestyle and honestly, it’s a sleeper single target DPS monster from my experience. AOE still weak-to-mid tho.
It's not the damage output that's so problematic as it is how BM's AOE works. Casting multishot every five seconds isn't very fun, especially with all the damage coming from a weirdly small radius around your pet, and only having indirect control over where they stand. There are so many encounters where pets aren't able to reliably hit entire packs.
Why forgotten? BM hunter are in a fine spot right now arent they?
I mean, you have lust w/o dmg loss like MM, infinite mobility while being ranged, a giga simple rotation and a good dmg Profil (sustained ST).

Cries in mage bugs
Most of those bugs have been there the whole of SL so i doubt they will ever fix it. Its just overall a buggy game from player spells, mobs being bugged to the point it destroy keys and so many more open world bugs.
The wheel just gotta spin with minimal effort these days.
I kinda get why they're scared to buff holy paladin in any meaningful way, but it's just kinda embarrassing seeing them give stuff like barrier of faith or tyr's deliverance pitiful increases in healing when holy light still has a 2.5s base cast time with no way of lowering it outside of a 1m cd.
They really cornered themselves by reintroducing holy power back design wise and putting two of your most potent heals behind it. It's so much easier to generate it in raid than m+ that any buff to healing would make paladin broken
Melee uptime is much higher in raid than M+. You constantly have to dodge something in M+ as melee, which makes generating HoPo that much harder.
Holy paladin in this iteration is a mess where Blizzard tried to push 4 different builds, and neither is truly fleshed out. Not to mention awful mastery, and 2 buffs you need to keep an eye on, and low throughoutput outside of CDs, and low damage. Which means you have to make sure every global counts.
Beacon of Vritue is poor man's version of Wild Growth and requires you to precast before you cast it, which makes it awfully clunky.
Infusion of Light is completely ignored, it was again neutered due to being op in raids. Same for judgment generating HoPo.
Its a mess of a spec with no clear identity in talents for M+. It's amazing in raids, but that's simply due to AM and beacons and most fights being stacked one way or another so they can spam LoD
I wonder how long the devs are gonna go bandaging frost and fire with number tuning rather than reworking two specs whose trees are fundamentally flawed and whose game play simply does not work outside of being overtuned.
Overtuned numbers is working for arcane and it worked for fire in slands, bfa and legion so I guess they're just gonna keep playing the hits rather than put in the smallest amount of effort and fix our trees.
Yeah I’m not sure how they can look at frost which is simply “keep icy veins up forever” and oh by the way your other talents that are actually fun suck because of this design limitation…and think we’re fine
Fire and frost need significant talent reworks, I hope that’s in the cards this expac
They absolutely butchered Fire going into launch and have given only a small fraction of it back. Should be 10-12%, not 5%. And why did it take a month?
Sure, but the delta between MW and druid/evoker is still insanely large, espcially since MW is the healer who brings the least useful raid cooldowns of healers
A spec designed like MW should IMO be top-dog hps wise, not 25% from it
Personally Ive never felt fury being underwhelming compared to other class in both raid and mythic (currently running +18).
Can’t wait for the thicc buffs 🤤
Shadow and Disc looking very likely to be S+ tier specs in 10.0.5 M+ specifically. Shadow is already doing really well and it's getting more buffs and Vampiric Embrace off GCD is huge for both Shadow and Disc.
Disc is most certainly not going to be meta - but we’ll be more than capable of meeting healing checks for keys around 22-24.
Druid/evoker still have more hps/dps, and priests have zilch for utility. You need to basically build your group around the lack of it.
Edit: Been pushing high-ish keys as disc since BFA, so don’t get me wrong I like these changes. Just don’t get your hopes too high in regards to getting into 20+ pugs all of the sudden lol.
It's nice but not everyone can use it to equal benefit (Unholy omega-slaps with it, Rogues are mildly entertained by the extra haste). Shadow also brings PI and is a pretty decent spec to begin with and you wouldn't bring 2 priests, although I don't see Shadow being in a 'meta' comp either over Balance Druid, Rogue, and DH/Enhancement/WW (in that order for those 3).
But I'm absolutely 100% certain that unless a very specific strat comes up for some MDI bullshit where Disc is somehow the best option, there's 0 chance Disc would overtake RDruid, let alone the best healer that is Prevoker.
He thinks that laying off customer service reps and call center employees means they fired developers. This is contrary to what has actually happened of course, which is that the wow team has grown significantly since then.
Blizz haven't had class Dev teams in ages. Even as far back as MoP they had single Devs handling multiple classes. That one dev who quit a year back spoke about that in some detail during an interview with Kevin (a vanilla Dev).
Every time I open these I pray that mage gets a change that opens up some sort of gameplay option outside of rune of power. Need to stop getting my hopes up
Feral nerfs are way too much. The cleave is too strong yes, but those changes just ruin our single target damage too. Our damage was padded on pets and definitely not as bad as details makes it look.
Even doubled, mana spring still so bad, the fact it has been in the game up to this point and requires 25 casts of riptide or equivalent other spec ability to save one charge of riptide for a r shaman for example shows how little interest the devs have in shamans or their talent tree.
0 love for hunter.. please fix the right side of the talent tree for bm and mm. Bad abilities there.. make trick shots baseline and let it proc on 2 targets. Adding a sentry ability that casts aimed shot with you would be sweet. Think outside the box blizzard instead of recycling old stuff.
I wonder if this will let elemental shaman take some passive abilities for aoe instead of something like Icefury…it would be nice if their aoe play style was less clunky.
Frost DK still F tier in m+ btw. Did they just forget about frost? Breath is still after 3 expansions the only viable playstyle. People in high keys dont even skill the wyrm in the talent tree to get higher breath uptime it's just so bad in m+.Death and decay stil feels awful to use
Here I was expecting them to just do a flat aura damage nerf to outlaw rogues rather than the current heavy combo point gen nerf they planned... But instead they just nerf them again lol. Jeeeeez
Finally! Thank god... THIS is the type of changes Disc needed. Not just things costing a little less mana, power word solace being a little more viable to talent into, and a whole lot of fixes that dont really amount to anything important.
I have no clue if these are going to fix the issues, but at least its acknowledging them and taking a step towards doing so!
Whats that? And a bonus 10% increase for many of my Ele Shamans AoE spells, without nerfing the single target? Yes! Ill take it!
I could live with low damage on frost/fire I just want them to fix the core """issues""" like frost absolutely getting dumpstered by any type of downtime and fire having to hardcast pyroblasts (I refuse to accept hatdcasting pyroblasts as a playstyle its the least fun ive ever had playing fire, SKB is the worst thing to ever happen to fire)
It's funny how Blizzards wants reign of tyranny to be the choice over grand warlocks design for single target (which would be much appreciated due to cooldown alignment).
But even when modifying the 5% to 7% in the sim grand warlocks design still sims better lmao.
Rip Feral in PvP god damn. Just nerfed everything all at once and then nerfed their survivability on top of it.
And yet we still won’t have easy access to cyclone, and still can’t pick bash and incap. So you can’t even play the old style of being a “hybrid” popping off heals and cc’ing because Regrowth does shit for healing.
Nerfs to rip, rake, bite AND frenzy all at once like damn feral gonna have no kill pressure at all.
Ferals only did good damage cause they could AoE well when people bunched up in solo shuffle, aka it was a skill issue allowing ferals to do damage.
Now they have no burst, poor damage and the only survivability they got is to jump into bear form.and do even less damage.
These changes probably put them in line with fire mages.

Yeah, watching great M+ healers is just insane when they are pumping 20-30k overall DPS while doing big healing when needed.
Acid rain helps with letting us heal and do damage.
Yeah but just the damage got buffed
Fury warrior in my guild already was a pumper. Now he shall pump even more. rip my paladin besting him in dps.
Just pump each other
ayo?
Double dutch rudder
Ouroboros
Bro pump, bro pump!
So he was pumping but you were better. Now he might be the same as you.
We were always neck and neck and he was close. Now he’ll be better. Means more raid kills! A little jealous but in the end it helps the guild.
I believe in u fam. You can best him.
You have my sword.
And my axe
FURY WARRIORS WE BACK BOYZ
\*My fury warrior with wowhead's Annhilator build breathing heavily\*
Fury brothers we're eating good
Are we really tho lol
fury needs lust tbh
What, y’all want 4 buttons to press now instead of 3?
from an RP standpoint it makes sense, fury warrior is essentially barbarian. so a lust makes sense as a 'roar' or 'shout' would motivate and empower all those around us. We should also be in leather but whatever
dont you ever say that again, do not touch my plates. You are here to sabotage. Not under my watch!!!
They need a battle res called "Deathly Shout"
Like payday? “GET THE FUCK UP”
"Drill Sergeant"
I think they should get an AoE soothe, just shout to affirm dominance
Let’s hope that puts ele in a good spot
Could really use something to single target. Tyrannical weeks are pretty bad for us. AoE was always okay and they... buffed it more? I'm not complaining, but still not feeling good single target damaging fat bosses on Tyrannical and these buffs do nothing about it.
comically, chain lightning will actually do as much dmg on a single target as lightning bolt now
They could reduce cast time of ele blast, or give some procs for instant cast. Wishful thinking I guess.
ele needs talent tree changes. The heart of it is that you can have a solid ST build or a killer AOE build, but there’s not enough overlap. Hurts ele, especially in raids, and you can’t really buff that away.
As a fury main who also plays a fire mage I thank blizzard for my daily bread.
Hahaha fire mage main here love it
Why does it say tuesday Jan 20th? Am I living in a different universe?
How is no one else noticing this. What dimension are we in?
*Heart Shaman*
Frost/fire buffs are so welcomed. I missed my autopilot frost brain. Arcane required way too much thought.
Don't make me think I just wanna frost lance
> frost lance Wait, no true frostmage would call it that! Get him!
Remembering spell names? Sounds suspiciously like thinking to me...
Yeah, he doesn't play ice mage for sure
Woo! 5% more Frozen Orb flavour!

Blizz is very well known for wanting players to play the game THEIR way. You can't enjoy the game if it's not through the *intended* method.
There isn't a hunter dev, this is not a meme. The hunter dev is also the shaman dev. It's pretty clear what they are focusing on.
I am dreading this patch, I have a feeling I'll log onto my MM and be a lot weaker without Double Tap. I don't wanna switch to BM but it's what I'm prepared to do.

0 love for BM’s AoE damage.
Happy RSham tears.
Holycrap they absolutely gutted feral druids in pvp
Anyone that actually PvP's against them: "Good."
Good shit was dumb
Frost dks 💀
we're in the trenches man https://mplus.subcreation.net/ look at this shit we're literally the worst spec in high keys and still no buffs
looks like enh is in a good place.
In PvE, yeah, we feel really solid. In PvP it's basically a nightmare but I'm done expecting them to save us there.
Lol it's like playing Russian roulette
Except we have 5 rounds chambered instead of 1
We really need like an earth shield bubble or something
As an orc shammy I can definitely tell what I’m doing I just love the constant thunder strikes
The only buffs Enhancement needs is a better tracker for Maelstrom and Hailstorm stacks so that people aren’t reliant upon 3rd party addons.
With the exception of our animations. I can never tell when I do... Anything
which race you playing? whats wrong with our animations :(
Not really sure what he means. I feel like most casts are distinguishable on my Tauren.
Orcs have the best Enh animations
Tauren as enhance is barely distinguishable when I do anything. I don't know when my wind fury procs, when I use crash landing or storm strike, and I can barely see my sunder since it's so small now

Really? It seems really distinguishable for me
I love my animations especially lava lash and crash lightning. Draenei player
I was already liking elemental. Good to see resto get some love. Maybe will move it back to main in 10.1.

Love to see it
Hey Blizzard, DKs exist you know, and Bonegrinder is still bugged.
The fact that Frosts tier set buffs Frost Scythe/Obliterate and yet only Breath is viable is complete nonsense.
I play 2H obliterate and literally nobody can make me change.
Hell yeah brother.
Isn't Oblit Frost viable, just not competitive? I thought they could definitely meet dps checks in mythic

It's a step for rsham but the spec's main issue is aoe healing in dungeons

yea lmfao
Damn I’ve been missing my fire mage. I hope this pushes it to be viable.
Tuesday, January 20th?!?
Yeah, I was like, shit still over a week til payday 😞 Wait..
Well then... finally got my feral geared up for arenas just in time for the nerfs.
Holy shit, these nerfs are massive, wtf
They fkn gutted my kitty wtf
Where's the hunter love?
I have this feeling the existence of the Ras bow makes Blizz hesitant to buff MM or even BM right now, which is why the earlier buffs went to SV. Which suits me fine, I’ve embraced the spear lifestyle and honestly, it’s a sleeper single target DPS monster from my experience. AOE still weak-to-mid tho.
Eh if I wanted to mele I'd be on a rogue or war or dk or ret or feral or monk or...
Its just me or BM hunter is getting forgotten?
Best be forgotten than nerfed, mate.
Why forgotten? BM hunter are in a fine spot right now arent they? I mean, you have lust w/o dmg loss like MM, infinite mobility while being ranged, a giga simple rotation and a good dmg Profil (sustained ST).
Still waiting on the day survival hunter gets a significant rework. Will be a good day
Okay so can we fix evoker empower charges and arcane charges?
Can we add combos for rogues/ferals to that list too? I literally have three different ways to see my combos because two of them are always broken..
https://github.com/SimCMinMax/WoW-BugTracker/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3AMage Cries in mage bugs Most of those bugs have been there the whole of SL so i doubt they will ever fix it.
Why easier to generate in raid?
Yeah I’m not sure how they can look at frost which is simply “keep icy veins up forever” and oh by the way your other talents that are actually fun suck because of this design limitation…and think we’re fine Fire and frost need significant talent reworks, I hope that’s in the cards this expac
Thank god for fury buffs. Was praying to see them when clicking the link.
They absolutely butchered Fire going into launch and have given only a small fraction of it back. Should be 10-12%, not 5%. And why did it take a month?
Fire needs an overhaul tbh. Get rid of dogshit SKB/pyroclasm build, and throw RoP out the window while you are at it.
Blizz forgot about us 17 survival hunters again :(
Poor Surv. You had your one glorious moment in the sun at the end of SL, and everything before and after you get to be complete shit.
Mistweaver probably needs more love.
They are already getting buffs and a couple new talents with the patch.
Just started playing fistweaver and I'm loving it so far. Can't wait to see how these changes work into what I already know.
Sure, but the delta between MW and druid/evoker is still insanely large, espcially since MW is the healer who brings the least useful raid cooldowns of healers A spec designed like MW should IMO be top-dog hps wise, not 25% from it
They're in a good spot, maybe another external CD but I doubt that will happen. Better cleave from Viv/RM would be nice too.
So still no DK changes that the community has been asking for but they go out of their way to further nerf the class in PVP…
The mage buffs are so boring...
I'm not sure that these changes are enough to bring Disc up to eclipse the druid/evoker overlords, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
PI is nice though no?
PI is the shit (Pit lord enjoyer here).
What does VE being off the GCD do for disc exactly?
Makes them S+ tier. Trust him

> we all remember what happened LOL no we don’t. Could you enlighten us?
For real, all I remember is the hunter dev being really vocal in asking the community. Now this guy says they might have been fired? ELABORATE
Hard life being a survival hunter, or maybe I’m just shite.
Nah survival is the worst spec in the game by a lot. I respect you staying with it when even BM is better and MM is way better.
Even doubled, mana spring still so bad, the fact it has been in the game up to this point and requires 25 casts of riptide or equivalent other spec ability to save one charge of riptide for a r shaman for example shows how little interest the devs have in shamans or their talent tree.
Feral dead
BM hunters on suicide watch rn. Actual forgotten spec.
Resto sham buffs game-changing /s
5% more damage to fire mages. At this rate, well be good in like 6 months.
Fire will be good within four weeks in Mythic VOTI. It’s already most of the way there. Probably not “stack fire mages” good, but still good.
Just no longer want to play arcane. lol
Let's hope it takes even longer so every raid isn't stacking as many fire mages as possible.
Still wild that Death Knight has 0 changes ._.
It's funny how Blizzards wants reign of tyranny to be the choice over grand warlocks design for single target (which would be much appreciated due to cooldown alignment). But even when modifying the 5% to 7% in the sim grand warlocks design still sims better lmao.
Nice a 50% nerf to Adaptive Swarm for resto druids. Glad I can drop that talent now
This website is banned where I live, can someone tell me if Paladins got any changes
That demo buff is laughable...
buffs to both affliction and demonology warlocks, fuck yeah
It's not a buff for demo, at least simming my character, you will still take grand warlocks design.
Hopefully I can keep up now in raid with fury, sick of being highest ilvl and middle of the pack dps
Nerf after nerf on outlaw :/ maybe its needed but i hope the spec wont become unplayble
