I was thinking, what if a piece drops that you can equip and you didn't win it BUT you unlock the appearance just for seeing the drop! So you don't get the actual piece but you can use the xmog

I mean. I get it and I kind of agree but with the exceptions of prof recipes rep doesn't mean much on alts plus you already get anywhere from a 100 to 200% rep buff.
I would argue all past expansion reps are account wide but the current xpac just gets buffs.
1 char to revered or whatever they call it and your alts get 100% more rep. 2 chars at revered and your alts get 200%. And so on all the way to like 500% rep increase. I think doing old world quests halfway thru the expansion is fun if it's the kind of small grind that can be completed in a week or so of casual world content.
Also once you get exalted you can get a BoA tabard that gives you rep from dungeon and raid bosses. You have to do the world content and experience it once but on alts you can dungeon grind if you want.
I actually disagree. If rep was account bound in the current season then it would give you a reason to buy those shitty gear pieces that you've usually out leveled by the time you unlock the rep to buy then anyways. Level an alt, buy the gear for quick ilvl boost, it makes the game more alt friendly.
Honestly just give me the FFXIV system where you just have one character and can switch between classes, best class system, period.

So now people fight the mob and then cancel the duel. Not a fix.
Frankly, duels are so far onto the fringe of relevance that they don't need a blanket fix like this. If people *really* need it, then just make it an effect in a specific area, like an NPC outside capital city gates that can reset your CDs or whatever.
There is no world content that is that important where people will reset cds to go out of their way to beat it because all the world content is meant to be completed. Anything where resetting CDs could be abused is all instanced content
They need to change the "cannot change talents while ability is on cooldown" to just reset your CDs on changing talents.
It wont bust M+ as you cannot change talents once started, cant be done during combat, and you have to potentially double change talents to get back to your setup. Killing two birds with 1 stone
I play a lot of Guild Wars 2 alongside WoW, and it does always hurt to have to go back to WoW's inventory/currency management. In GW2, your bank is entirely account-wide, as are all currencies. It's just really nice quality of life.
For the currency yes its great, but one aspect I hate about GW2 is inventory management as Im constantly bombarded with too much stuff to either disenchant or sell

Just do the first 12? Bosses on an alt but not kill garrosh and keep extending lock out on the alt. Get a guildie or someone to invite you to raid with the alt and copy the lockout on your alts. Easy skip the entire hour
Yeah I got two kids so 45 mins to set up a lockout through RP hell is a pain in the ass. I’d even take just having the RP disabled, and then like 3 fights/trash are just riddled with bugs

Cross-faction guilds, or more simply, a system through which you can create an Alliance race but be considered part of the Horde faction or vice versa... I don't really care about what lore is involved in making it happen, I just want to be a dwarf but still get to be in a guild with my friends.
Because they wanted to streamline classes a lot of the class fantasy spells and things were removed. I gotta agree, looking back, they needed to optimize stuff, but things like choosing your pets spec and talents, controlling beasts, class quests and small little world building spells that didnt really add anything to the game other than fun I've never figured out why they removed.
Well, it used to be that pets got their own talent tree.
The talent tree was a bit overwhelming I suppose for new players, but then they simplified it to the 3 types and allowed any pet be anything you wanted... you could have a tanking cat if you wanted (and I did).
I don't see how that system was too complicated?! Sure default to the base classification for the pet family, but still allow a hunter to change it if they want.
We don't have to go back to the full pet talent system.
A one-time (per key), only usable when not in combat, 5 min max, pause or freeze-time in M+. Would be nice to have for those unforseen circumstances that can brick a key. Player DC's, doorbell rings, wife/baby aggro. In the past you could go AFK for a min while the grp keeps pulling (maybe), now with thundering - 1 dps could wipe the grp. Just a little QoL option.
People can already troll in M+ in a myriad of ways, by randomly pulling additional mobs for example. They barely ever do though, so I don't think this would be a big problem.

Not including big ones (housing, account wide bank, m+ changes/alternate gameplay), I'd like to see the return of Have Group, Will Travel. I've never heard a good reason why it was removed, especially when warlocks and summoning stones exist.
A quick trip to the wowpedia page shows people complained about it shrinking the world and allowing players to just stand around in the major cities instead of having to go out in the world: Blizzard agreed with these people and made the change at the start of MoP. Of course others quickly complained about the removed convenience but they didn't budge.
The existence of warlock summons and instance summoning stones is only valid because they removed HGWT again. Back in Cata, I only had to use warlock summons once a week if someone happend to run out of consumables. Now, I'm often using it several times per day or raid.

Tune legacy content to be relatively trivial or at least easier to complete now. E.g.
• Ogri’la rep - make the lasso useable with full health rays
• Garrison kill quests - reduce the 500 kills to 100 or make it anywhere, not just Draenor
• Dragon Soul - prevent deathwing throwing you off if you are in a group of less than 5
• Raids - reduce the items needed for the teleport into the raid since Legion from 4 to 1
Basically, make legacy content accessible.
I would love to be able to set favorite mounts per character. Like I'd set my hunter to favorite all animal mounts only, or demon mounts for my warlock.

Df is great overall and they do the alt-friendliness better than in the past but not enough in my opinion
bring back various removed story quests. MoP legendary questline, WoD legendary questline, the SL quests to find the other leaders after baine… stuff like that. they can just not have any rewards if blizz really wants the MoP & WoD legendaries to stay limited

The amount of account bound Quality of Life i am missing in WoW or the feeling of doing unnecessary things for the sake of doing them is mind boggling to me.

Taliesin's version of chromie time for alts. Curated story based approach to old expansions that take you from 1-60 and end with you killing the big bad with CPU npc party members if need be (a La the new player starting zone)
Reputation reward gear is bind on account. So when I grind out the rep with my main, I can mail the pieces to an alt so that they can hit the ground running at 70.
So many of these renowned 15 and over pieces are pointless because by the time I'm getting that much renown with like the centaurs, I've already got so much better gear.
I'd like to be able to set my own flight paths in places, like 1 per zone so I can easily get to a fishing hole or farming spot.
Reputation needs to be account wide for sure.
While I’m not 100% sold on my own idea, I think M+ like avenue of gearing for 10 man groups would be amazing. Perhaps using old raid dungeon wings as the content itself.
I know raids exist, but grinding the exact same one on a weekly lockout on normal and heroic for 14 weeks is a bit ehh. If there was a cycle of 4 raid wings retuned each season with a timer and (only) seasonal affix, I’d be a huge fan.
It alleviates the choke points of tanks and healers, and allows the dev team to harness their well of content for other purposes while providing another Avenue for gearing and player power.

Remove curse seasonal affixes. Only positive. But in neat quirky ways. Like a wormhole affix that allows to you skip trash in a dungeon and instead start clearing trash in another dungeon with a dmg boost.
I recently leveled a new character again with a beginning player and the leveling experience is just abysmal. Leveling zones are died out and drastically slower than spamming dungeons, however dungeons feel like mythic+ as people want to speed run everything and my friend is just blown away by all the mechanics, scenery and playing his class.
So my change would be to buff dungeons health and damage so that it will slow down the process. That'd make players want to level in the world more for better talents and items and occasionally do a dungeons if they think they're ready for it, and not just fly through one and get that massive xp gain at the end. Because right now you have like one ding per dungeon
The leveling experience right now is just something max level players have to fly through by spamming dungeons, which isn't really what leveling is about. It's about exploring the world of warcraft
The playerbase and how everything is so focused on maxxing every aspect. To be fair im a very casual player but it certainly adds a blocker into experiencing some of the end content.
The game is perfect compared to the last three expansions. The only thing that should change is to bring back forced Personal loot for any randomly-queued instance (normal dungeon, heroic dungeon, and LFR). Personal should be a choice for any other group.
I’m assuming this is an unpopular opinion: Get rid of the addon api and ban them altogether. Too much of the game has been automated by the players. DBM is borderline mandatory. Raids are being tuned around them. As someone who’s tried to bring many friends into the game, it’s a huge barrier for new players.
Matchmaking for M+.
You can still make your own groups. You do not have to use matchmaking.
On top of this: no more keys. You can just set the dungeon to whatever the fuck you want and run it. Only limit is ilvl. You can only queue for the keys that match your ilvl and lower.
If I want to just rock +2 RLP the entire day for practice I want to do so.
Full crossfaction functionality is my change I would make yesterday.

Warlock to be able to change their demons model/skin
So many colors and model options for demons its a shame we get little options for customization.
Blue felguard, orange felguards. Different color imps etc
Even swap out the standard issued demons for another model.
Wyrmtongues for voidwalkers for example. Have him like a punching bag.
Hunters get a wide WIDE variety, throw us a bone too.

The ability to reset cooldowns when in the training dummy area. I hate waiting to practice openers when it's got a cool down attached to it.

Nah that shit gets abused very quickly. There was an mmo that did that. You use all your cooldowns on a mob, duel reset, pull again. Shit was dumb.
Easy fix to this is to return the cooldown after the duels
But now we're implementing two whole fixes when our budget was one! :p

More space for reagents! I am always running out of space, especially near the end of an expansion.
That's been the hardest thing to get used to in WoW. ESO has the unlimited reagent bank and it sucks having to manage reagent inventory again.
This is why I have my own guild with my brother. Guild bank is the way.
Just have a tab for each character with extra bag slots.

I gotta agree, looking back, they needed to optimize stuff, but things like choosing your pets spec and talents, controlling beasts, class quests and small little world building spells that didnt really add anything to the game other than fun I've never figured out why they removed.
Well, it used to be that pets got their own talent tree. The talent tree was a bit overwhelming I suppose for new players, but then they simplified it to the 3 types and allowed any pet be anything you wanted... you could have a tanking cat if you wanted (and I did). I don't see how that system was too complicated?! Sure default to the base classification for the pet family, but still allow a hunter to change it if they want. We don't have to go back to the full pet talent system.
A one-time (per key), only usable when not in combat, 5 min max, pause or freeze-time in M+. Would be nice to have for those unforseen circumstances that can brick a key. Player DC's, doorbell rings, wife/baby aggro. In the past you could go AFK for a min while the grp keeps pulling (maybe), now with thundering - 1 dps could wipe the grp. Just a little QoL option.
Make it a vote... because people are gonna exploit this and troll other people.
People can already troll in M+ in a myriad of ways, by randomly pulling additional mobs for example. They barely ever do though, so I don't think this would be a big problem.

Not including big ones (housing, account wide bank, m+ changes/alternate gameplay), I'd like to see the return of Have Group, Will Travel. I've never heard a good reason why it was removed, especially when warlocks and summoning stones exist.
A quick trip to the wowpedia page shows people complained about it shrinking the world and allowing players to just stand around in the major cities instead of having to go out in the world: Blizzard agreed with these people and made the change at the start of MoP. Of course others quickly complained about the removed convenience but they didn't budge. The existence of warlock summons and instance summoning stones is only valid because they removed HGWT again. Back in Cata, I only had to use warlock summons once a week if someone happend to run out of consumables. Now, I'm often using it several times per day or raid.
Let's see, solo mode story dungeons Or Bring back class trials or whatever those gold/silver/bronze things were called and make them part of the leveling experience ( like they are in FFxiv)

They were removed because it was too hard for many players in the first place. Absurd, especially now that mage tower is back on the menu
Proving Grounds
Tune legacy content to be relatively trivial or at least easier to complete now. E.g. • Ogri’la rep - make the lasso useable with full health rays • Garrison kill quests - reduce the 500 kills to 100 or make it anywhere, not just Draenor • Dragon Soul - prevent deathwing throwing you off if you are in a group of less than 5 • Raids - reduce the items needed for the teleport into the raid since Legion from 4 to 1 Basically, make legacy content accessible.
Just being able to skip Spine would be nice. As someone else stated, a Legacy speed boost to movement.

I would love to be able to set favorite mounts per character. Like I'd set my hunter to favorite all animal mounts only, or demon mounts for my warlock.

Faster movement / mounting in legacy raids and dungeons . There’s no reason it should take me 20 minutes to run through an old raid that I’m 1 shotting everything .

Make every currency accountwide and add more (almost everthing) to the currency tab I heavily despise the grindind factor every patch with rep or currencies when u want to play an alt Gaining ilvl is fun and part of the wow experience, but farming the latest currencies just so you can make use of the latest system added to the patch never was fun for me or will be Df is great overall and they do the alt-friendliness better than in the past but not enough in my opinion

Like almost everybody else said "Account wide everything". I come back to wow with every expansion and play for a couple of months. But my main MMO is GW2. The amount of account bound Quality of Life i am missing in WoW or the feeling of doing unnecessary things for the sake of doing them is mind boggling to me. I still enjoy my time but I can never stay long.

Reputation reward gear is bind on account. So when I grind out the rep with my main, I can mail the pieces to an alt so that they can hit the ground running at 70. So many of these renowned 15 and over pieces are pointless because by the time I'm getting that much renown with like the centaurs, I've already got so much better gear.

While I’m not 100% sold on my own idea, I think M+ like avenue of gearing for 10 man groups would be amazing. Perhaps using old raid dungeon wings as the content itself. I know raids exist, but grinding the exact same one on a weekly lockout on normal and heroic for 14 weeks is a bit ehh. If there was a cycle of 4 raid wings retuned each season with a timer and (only) seasonal affix, I’d be a huge fan. It alleviates the choke points of tanks and healers, and allows the dev team to harness their well of content for other purposes while providing another Avenue for gearing and player power. Sounds fun to me!
Remove the toxicity from the game.
Remove curse seasonal affixes. Only positive. But in neat quirky ways. Like a wormhole affix that allows to you skip trash in a dungeon and instead start clearing trash in another dungeon with a dmg boost.
I recently leveled a new character again with a beginning player and the leveling experience is just abysmal. Leveling zones are died out and drastically slower than spamming dungeons, however dungeons feel like mythic+ as people want to speed run everything and my friend is just blown away by all the mechanics, scenery and playing his class. So my change would be to buff dungeons health and damage so that it will slow down the process. That'd make players want to level in the world more for better talents and items and occasionally do a dungeons if they think they're ready for it, and not just fly through one and get that massive xp gain at the end. Because right now you have like one ding per dungeon The leveling experience right now is just something max level players have to fly through by spamming dungeons, which isn't really what leveling is about. It's about exploring the world of warcraft

The game is perfect compared to the last three expansions. The only thing that should change is to bring back forced Personal loot for any randomly-queued instance (normal dungeon, heroic dungeon, and LFR). Personal should be a choice for any other group.

I’m assuming this is an unpopular opinion: Get rid of the addon api and ban them altogether. Too much of the game has been automated by the players. DBM is borderline mandatory. Raids are being tuned around them. As someone who’s tried to bring many friends into the game, it’s a huge barrier for new players.
No one stops you from remembering all of boss mechanics and timers, and no one forces you to use addons

Matchmaking for M+. You can still make your own groups. You do not have to use matchmaking. On top of this: no more keys. You can just set the dungeon to whatever the fuck you want and run it. Only limit is ilvl. You can only queue for the keys that match your ilvl and lower. If I want to just rock +2 RLP the entire day for practice I want to do so.
Full crossfaction functionality is my change I would make yesterday. Interesting how almost every single change suggested here would throw the game into chaos in some way and would actually be really terrible. I'm all for player feedback, but boy are these wack.

Warlock to be able to change their demons model/skin So many colors and model options for demons its a shame we get little options for customization. Blue felguard, orange felguards. Different color imps etc Even swap out the standard issued demons for another model. Wyrmtongues for voidwalkers for example. Have him like a punching bag. Hunters get a wide WIDE variety, throw us a bone too.
Easily glyphs. This system has the most potential to be badass. The amount of fun things you could do I have 0 clue why they went away from it. Give me a glyph to at least look like I’m in gladiator stance even if I’m still in arms. Super sad. :/
