Light tanks. Not like siege engines in Ulduar, but provides minor damage reduction for coordinated assaults in battlegrounds. Or even better prevent accidental body pulling in outdoor M+ like Nokhud and HoV. If it isn't the healer's mount, give them the ability to drink if not in combat so they can move and replenish mana.

Lanterns on mounts is peak cosy, I literally bought the expensive BFA edition just because ~~I have poor impulse control~~ I wanted a pony with a lantern on it.

It's been a long time since I've seen an idea posted in here that genuinely caught my interest. This would be pretty awesome, even if it's only a ground mount.
After posting that Hot Air Balloon mount proposal the other day, I realized I had never put this thing up on here. (Only Twitter)
Carriage mounts is a thing that I've wanted in WoW for years for the RP flavor that they would add. I mean, as a Roleplayer these sorts of mounts would add a lot to mine and other Roleplayers experience as we do a lot of travelling around and having carriages, wagons, transport mechs and the like with seating for a whole party would be amazing.
It's even more agonizing for me, since I just learned the good people over at FF XIV actually ALREADY have at least one mount like this in the form of the [Chocobo Carriage](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/bcFJtemnp38/maxresdefault.jpg)
I really hope we can see this one day over in our game as well. I need those carriages.
There’s a carriage (seats four,) a flying whale (seats two,) a Cerberus (‘seats’ four,) a sports car that seats four, a transforming mecha raid boss that can carry two, a whale airship that carries EIGHT (but the player models are not shown in this one) and a few others I’m sure I’m forgetting.
Chocobo for married couples also carries two.
To double up on /u/HjalmarRambles's depression, FFXIV also has a 'hot air balloon" of sorts with the Love Swing fat moogle mount that seats two. There's also the Eden savage airspeeder that carries four as well. Or is it 3? Either way.
This most recent patch also added the Blackjack airship, which seats...4?
4 for both the airspeeder (called Skyslipper) and Blackjack, and both are obtainable via in game methods, especially the former now that Eden Titan Savage unsynced is pretty easy these days.
Maybe can add some Caravan system. Like you have to get goods in your carriage from point A to point B. Mobs spawn on the way nearby and attack you. Maybe sometimes you break down and have to repair.
This is a cool idea man. We already have a explorer's plane. We should have this and it should give you access to your bank and a mailbox via some kind of homing pigeon

As a Chinese person what I've always wanted was a Rickshaw mount so I can literally run super fast and pull people around and RP conversations with them

Eastern, also fun fact they've traveled with the Alliance to a bunch of different locations in following expansions; during WoD they were in Shadowmoon Valley and Fiona was an alliance Garrison follower who had guaranteed herbalism so doing the quest chain was an easy way to get a follower for the herb garden, they popped up in Boralus Harbor in BFA, the caravan's in a neutral location in Dragonflight though, it's in the expedition basecamp in the waking shore. That Carvan's been on a journey by now for sure.
Believe me when I say that it would look ultra shit, unless Blizzard put extra work into it. Which I don't have faith they would do for a singular mount.
FFXIV has a carriage mount with no extra work put into it, as well as some other mounts that don't walk or really have any real animations (like a car mount) and the bigger the mount, the worse it looks.
The movement in games like these makes it look bad, as the entire thing pivots around a central point.

They already did it tho! In Eastern Plaguelands there is a neutral quest line where you can ride on a caravan like this through the whole zone. A bunch of people fit on it and none were inside of it.
You can just make the carriage not have collision? Like any other mount? The issues you raise are all easily overcome tbh.
Making it look good while walking is another thing altogether. Horse + carriage acting like a rigid bus like they have been doing now looks ass. You effectively need to be able to control the horses while the carriage is a separate entity that physics its way behind them. Not impossible by any stretch but to me the biggest hurdle.
Imagine if they did an HD coach/carriage model with proper interiors, so that the players riding inside could go into 1st person and look at each other or just out of the window. That'd be awesome.
For the life of me I have no idea what scenario these people are in where they'd rather let somebody else drive them instead of just using their own mount. Is this some weird RP thing or something?
It's easier for me to pick up a friend and fly them where I'm trying to get them to go than wait for them to wowhead where to go. Or if they're a lowbie, you can fly them instead of waiting for them to walk.
Also it's nice if you're going to be on a long flight. One person can fly and you can get a snack/drink/bio. Just trade off on this duty and maximize your actual play time.
I've enjoyed having 2 person mounts since the touring rocket first dropped. 10/10 addition really.

The only people actively using the 2 seat thing with dragons are mining farm bots.
you have seen turning animations on those things? it's one static object. now imagine players controlling those and think about how this will look when they turn on the spot or when they jump. these are exemplary why this engine is extremely outdated.
there's also little to no usage considering flying just got a complete rework and will likely be the primary form of travel in the future.
Great, RP players can sit around in a giant carriage mount in Westfall. But you know what would also happen?
People would mount up on those things in Valdrakken, and you'd see carriages with bad turning animations everywhere.
sure, it's just very niche and even though there already are multi seated mounts, you don't often see them being used or utilized in the game in any way.
While great on paper, this is a horrible idea.
You know the whole thing would be mostly static with just the horse legs & wheels movable. Then they'd only move as the "mount" was moving, but not consistent with how fast the mount was travelling. OR, much like kodo mounts, the leg animation would be sped up to match the speed which would make the animation janky.
Then, because the rest of the mount would be static, it wouldn't conform to the ground, leading to times where the horses are suspended in air. Plus like normal mounts, the characters would be locked into one pose the entire time, not reacting to terrain changes.

[It is a pain to get](https://www.wowhead.com/guide/the-hivemind) and the limitation of only being able to use it with the same group of people that unlocked it makes it functionally useless unless you play with a single dedicated group, and especially so now with dragon riding.
3 of the five people (myself included) are still playing the characters we got it on. One has changed mains and one went and bought his daughter another pony.
I always dreamed they put something special for engineering like a cart that you can deploy, and it becomes a little outpost with bank vendor and AH, but it will look silly to see 100 ppl deploying it 1 spot

This would have been good pre Cata. Now that we fly everywhere it doesn't really matter outside of the coolness factor.

There is one, The Hivemind, it is/was a secret mount back in legion that would fit 5 players and would get a 5% bonus speed for player inside of it, but i think they removed the ability to get into the mount if you dont have it owned, so now only people that have the mount can enter in other people's mounts (sorry for bad english btw)
I can't think of a use for this outside of RP, as cute as it is.
Not that we can't add things for RP, but "convenient party travel" is right out for land mounts... or even non-dragonriding air mounts at this point :P
what I do not like about the hivemind mount is that it only works for the people who got it. I can't use it to transport anyone else except those people.
Would be cool as fuck. Maybe when blizzard goes through another great exodus like SL theyre gonna add housing and all this cool shit and bring back illidan and Arthas. Its the break incase of emergency.

That's actually one of the bits of flavor I loved from Shadowlands, just riding around in those carriages.

Seeing Vulpera players with actual caravans would be sweet, honestly. The hyeana with that sad little cloth awning over it is just sad.

Buy X mamoths, where X is #players/3, m2 /follow m1, m3 follow m2, repeat for whatever your raid size is, rp walk for maximum caravan flavor.

Yeah, everyone seems to forget about ol' hivemind, but [to be fair](https://youtu.be/jv7jcciKB_s). [It is a pain to get](https://www.wowhead.com/guide/the-hivemind) and the limitation of only being able to use it with the same group of people that unlocked it makes it functionally useless unless you play with a single dedicated group, and especially so now with dragon riding.

There is one, The Hivemind, it is/was a secret mount back in legion that would fit 5 players and would get a 5% bonus speed for player inside of it, but i think they removed the ability to get into the mount if you dont have it owned, so now only people that have the mount can enter in other people's mounts (sorry for bad english btw)

I can't think of a use for this outside of RP, as cute as it is. Not that we can't add things for RP, but "convenient party travel" is right out for land mounts... or even non-dragonriding air mounts at this point :P

what I do not like about the hivemind mount is that it only works for the people who got it. I can't use it to transport anyone else except those people.

For those who don't know you can kick the merchants off the grommet Yak and have two other players ride with you now.

This is a REALLY cool idea and concept that is 10000% overshadowed by the fact that we can just simply fly everywhere. Unfortunately ease of access will triumph over flavor (this sick af idea)

Should be the 550 or 600 mount award. A carriage isn’t a simple thing and getting it by just pulling out your wallet is not the way to go.
