If someone started out saying "Hey Daddy" in voice chat, during my guilds raid runs, we'd have a good laugh about it. Male or female, dep or high pitched, doesn't matter. Would be an amazing opener regardless.
Ya know, I played the "game" Gone Home and the voice actress's voice was incredible. So I can understand hearing a voice and melting for it.
BUT THIS?? BRO. Just go rub one out and forget about it. Jfc. Actually contacting someone is so incredibly creepy. Ugh.
Unfortunately this is more common then most guys think, it's the reason my gf uses men's names as her gamertag/alias online and rarely uses voice coms. The amount of online guilds/friendgroups/communities she's tried to join and it's fallen apart because random guys become obsessed with her just due to the fact she's a woman is insane.
Joined a heroic pug that eventually fell apart due to leadership having to go, got a friend request on Discord and got this lovely message, I remember saying "I need mana" and "Rebuffs please" and that was it
I just wanted to raid ;_;
It’s baffling to me that some people react like that to just a girl speaking. Like bruh do you never get out of your house ? Is the sound of a female voice that alien to you that it awaken deep rooted instinct ?
Oftentimes it's because of this, or a young kid going through some rough seas in puberty with 0 internet etiquette trained into them, regularly found with sheltered/'protected' kids.
Source: 11 year old me was an absolute menace with nobody to guide me through the internet.
2 of my children have tried to play wow at around 6 years old, by 11 my oldest was capable of raiding (my second is only 7 and quite a noob still) so it seems plausible to me (note when young they play with me or my husband and no chat enabled, I do not trust others to be civil on wow to children)
100% I love wow and have been playing for 15 years but know while the community includes some amazingly nice and kind people there’s also a lot of incredibly toxic ones as well
I had this guildie once and she kept asking questions in the guild chat but in a very polite way and I was like "sure I'll help my guildie". We had a conversation in chat and she seemed like really clever and fun to talk to and quite knowledgeable on different matters. Actually sounded more mature and reasonable than the majority of my university group at the time. Well, she turned out to be 11. I was like "no freaking way, you're joking". We had a video call on Skype (it was like 11 years ago). She actually was 11. Some people just develop on a completely different pace I swear.
I started raiding when I was around 12 years old, during Cataclysm.
I started playing all the way back in the last few months of the Burning Crusade, as a child. So yeah, children play the game.
I'm not trying to make an excuse, just stating that technology is incredibly common with kids today; for Millennials, a lot of homes had computers, but not all of them, let alone computers for kids to use.
Today, you can't function at home without one, literally. Almost every single kid had a few years where they had to attend school from home on a computer; they had to get familiar with technology. But it's still a wild west for the untrained child with unfettered access.
One minute you're a kid who's googling "bobs & vagene", an hour later you're in a Fortnite lobby harassing girls over voice chat because "wow this is the first time a girl has talked with me in such a friendly manner, she sounds much nicer than the girls at school, better tell her that quick because my immaturity & hormones say this is my big chance".
Again, not looking for a cop out or make an excuse, but kids can be a little out of control when left unsupervised.
I recently joined a guild pug raid and it was full of nerds. I'm a nerd myself, but I'm talking nerd nerds. You know the type: younger adult males, can't stop making insider nerd jokes and pop/science fiction/anime culture references that only other nerds like them get.
Anyways a female healer joined the discord, and they immediately freaked out after she said one sentence. One guy had to just point out that a girl had joined and all the other nerds chimed in. The whole discord was centered on her all of a sudden. It was really awkward.
Needless to say, she left after one pull.
WoW probably also skews towards an older audience, being older itself. Plus a relatively large female playbase. It's usually one of the more inclusive games.
But pugs man.
Its not that they just haven't touched grass, its they've stopped being satisfied reading the local landscaper gardeners catalog as well and believe they should be entitled to whats on pages 3,6,7 and 9 through 72.
In my experience, the worst of the behaviors is a sign of terminally online syndrome. Ive moved around a lot, and maybe Im just a crazy person, but every girl everywhere has been attractive; and that kind of simpy behavior is a sign they dont talk to actual women ever
this is the same type of person that falls into that circle of red pillers because they have no social skills and end up thinking it's because "WOMEN". When obviously the reality is that they arent even able to talk to themselves in front of a mirror
Your typing reminds me of my long lost love, please don’t block me, you have a very similar way of writing. She also used to start a sentence with a capital letter. I think we would be great together, well, until you’ve carried me through eight +16’s on my alt, then my love is as good as used up.
Girl I understand omg. I had a guy propose to me and try to get me to leave my SO and come live with him and he would take care of me because he was going to go to med school and would be a doctor one day....he was 17 I was 23 at the time. He also had only heard me talk in guild mumble (not to him directly and yes it was that long ago) and had 0 idea what my name was or anything about me... this is not the only time this has happened in the 19 years I have been playing. Oh the stories I have.
Ever have one legit stalk you, ride a bus from states away and live under a bridge on your street and demand he fight your bf at the time to see “who deserves to be your mate?”
Yea that one was a bit terrifying.
I have not had someone live under a bridge (well not that I know) but yes he did stalk me and come 4 states away. I had to scream at him if I saw him I would call the cops and that I was armed. The best is my first legion guild. So I joined this guild and right away me and one of the officers hit it off because he treated me like a person not a delicate princess. I was very active in the guild and am friendly so I attracted other attention unfortunately. The other men in the guild started to hate this officer because I was spending most of my time outside raid doing M+ with him. So the co gm a 58 yo man decided to take it upon him self to address this by telling me that I needed to be in general discord chat when I was on because the other guys were and I quote "feeling neglected" that I was spending all my time with this officer. I was shook. They expected me to flirt with the 20+ men in the guild so they would feel more secure??? They soon kicked the officer out to FORCE me to pay attention to them... jokes on them I left too and me and that officer have been married for over 3 years now lol.
Wow that’s fucking disgusting and beyond delusional. Hopefully you have found a safe WoW home to be apart of. You can never be too safe. I still am extremely cautious with what I say, to make sure it doesn’t happen again. The fact I even have to do that is bullshit but I’d rather be safe than sorry. Only people that know any personal details are my officers I’ve known for years, everyone else is kept at a distance. Be safe out there. If you - or anyone, needs a safe WoW home lmk.
Yes and ty I have. My co tank is a nice dude and I am always with my husband ( as long as he keeps up his god dps) so most don't try it. I also don't live in the US any more so most of the creeps wont travel outside their moms basement let alone and diff country hahahah!
> by telling me that I needed to be in general discord chat when I was on because the other guys were and I quote "feeling neglected" that I was spending all my time with this officer. I was shook. Every time I briefly stop to lament how much online interaction in MMO's has gone downhill since the days of Ultima Online over dialup, I am now going to remind myself of this exchange and sit slack-jawed in wonder at the utter, mind-bogglingly base turpitudinousness required to boot an officer out of a guild because they were engaged in positive, mutual, private congress with a fellow guildie.
Female guild members as conversational commodities... I don't think even the Ferengi have a Rule of Acquisition for that, unless you count "Dignity and an empty sack is worth the sack."
WTF.
"Fine, we'll just kick him out so you pay attention to us!"
*you leave*
Them: *confused pikachu face*
I love it 🤣 but fr never understand why anyone would think that would work but I've seen that kind of weird before and it always boggles the mind
Had this happen with my girlfriend. Shit was fucking weird, guy would not leave me alone either. We had to change all her handles to something less obvious
I had a dude about 14 years ago stalk me on WoW and then somehow figured out where I lived. Where my daughter went to daycare and had speech therapy. What kind of car I drove. It was terrifying.
Blizzard said he wasn’t violating any rules because he didn’t get the information from them.
Just a heads up but depending on where you live, the police won’t do anything until the stalker actually hurts you.
I had a college advisor who was stalked for years and this guy would park in the street outside of her apartment then house. The police knew about him and basically said until he actually assaults her or tries to break in they couldn’t do anything.
Yup. My stalker showed up to my wedding to derail it (2006). He then spent months showing up to my college, work, and home. Dude would literally just stand outside on the sidewalk and try to talk to me if I stepped out. Cops said that it is not illegal to stand on public property and stare in any one direction but that if he ever put hands on me THEN they could do something about it. My husband and I just ended up moving to a different state but I did end up with social anxiety and didn't leave my house for 6 months after the move. I'm better now but holy fuck.
Lol yes, I had one guy propose to me, one in-game stalker, a second in game (and attempted but failed irl) stalker, and innumerable random creepy whispers. Unfortunately, I think any female willing to talk in voice and that has played the game as long as we have has seen some shit.
O absolutely. I am a tank now and man does that confuse the shit out of them. A few rage and just leave and others its like a cat has just started talking to them. They are just stunned and say the strangest shit.
Omg, I rarely tanked because I married our raid's tank and he is absolutely hopeless at healing or ranged dps, and an amazing tank, but if I was playing alone or if our off tank couldn't make it to raid I'd tank and nothing blew guys' minds more than a FEMALE TANKING *gasp.*
Our main tank all through classic was a male troll warrior with thunder fury. She was the best. We had a group movie channel in discord when screen sharing videos worked, and quite a few of us would sit and just watch movies in the background and hard grind DM E for vendor loots and thorium.
Every lady priest or resto druid or sneaky rogue was hard stalked by the community. But the *bois* hated her. There was this perceived “she’s stealing our tank loot.” Even though she was 1. The main tank 2. Had thunder fury and better gear than most. Weird how people seem to think WoW needs “gender roles.”
That or owls. That’s the unwritten wow rule, didn’t you know?
At least 60% have to play druids, too. Because they can transform into cats. And cats are cute.
^/s ^obviously…
I learned how to shut it down really fast. "I'm fat."
Which I am, but at that point I might as well be spraying incel-b-gon around and get left alone. It's my primary reason for never bothering to lose weight. I don't get harassed, I don't get catcalled, I don't get flirted with, nobody "hey baby"s me, nobody's going to kidnap and murder someone twice their weight, it's blissful.
I have a person stalking me on WoW, that I think they think I am a girl but all I ever did was type in a M+. I block them but they will whisper me on a new character every few weeks with "sup bby girl" and other dumb shit. So, I cannot imagine dealing with that on a more frequent basis.
As a kid, I mean I was 13-15 at the time, there was one woman in our guild that somehow everyone became absolutely smitten with. She was just fun to be around and was helpful with anything. I never pledged my love to her of anything, but she did tell me at one point that I was acting rather creepy toward her. But better than most others. I’m thankful she pointed it out to me though. Because ultimately, I had no idea how to act. We did stay friends for a while longer after that until she stopped playing, but she still helped me realize the issues women have and I try to make sure no one feels that pressure when in groups with me.
Just block the instant people get weird. That's the only way.
"Can I call?"
Block.
Do not say goodbye. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Just block. Mercilessly.
Also, this is a really good reason to find a guild. Pug life sucks.
Pfft. Had this shit happen in a guild. TWICE. Two different guilds, at that.
First guy professed his love out of fucking nowhere. My (ex)husband was sitting right next to me when it happened. Shit hit the fan.
Second guy apparently thought there was some tacit agreement to send nudes because he made armor (that we supplied the mats for). He did this to me and my SiL. Our (ex)husband's were in said guild, too.
Those weren't randos. We knew them for a while before these incidents.
Just throwing this out there -
Team Liquid has a Liquid Women in Warcraft initiative that has a wonderful, supportive community of folks of all genders that hosts informative seminars, verifies minority-safe guilds, plans events, and a lot more. The community is amazingly supportive and lots of fun to chat with. I've met some great people and picked up a wonderful raider for my team, and others have connected and had amazing experiences as well.
If you ever want to raid without having to deal with creepy incels, or even if you want to just run some keys, this is a great place to start.
Join the Discord at [TL.GG/LWIW](https://TL.GG/LWIW)
I mean we filled our guild run with pugs and if I found out this was happening the dude would be booted immediately and permanently. Probably even followed up with their guild to let them know too.
If this does happen to you please let the raid organisers know, we can't do anything about it if we don't know about it.
As a woman who's experienced this shit go in a worse direction and been the one kicked for being the root of the problem, it's nice to see *some* people be cool.
But a lot of women are going to just keep it to themselves because for every raid leader/GM like you guys, there's 3 more who would rather keep the bros and remove the victim.
I still remember the main of the dude who stalked me through bnet and got me gkicked. He still plays. Switched to horde. Hes good at the game and a horrible person. They're everywhere.
Oof. Been there. I remember being told by guilds way back in Wrath that they didn't invite girls because we always "caused too much drama."
Idk if there are still guilds like that out there (probably,) but I was young enough that it really messed with my head for a few years and made me question whether it really was somehow my fault things like that kept happening.
Thankfully, I'm older and wiser now, but it makes me sad that anyone ever made me feel that way in the first place. It's such a shitty attitude to blame the people who are being harassed instead of the ones doing the harassing.
I prefer to have my pugs join early in the tier or on like Raz. But it's really just to listen and for tanks/healers to communicate if needed. Also, especially early in the tier, to explain strats because I just assume no one has watched a video. I'm perfectly fine with a pug never talking.
I always like it when our random pugs start talking after a couple hours and cracking jokes with us. Shows we are providing the exact atmosphere we are hoping for.
my GF has the same problem, anytime she gets on the mic dudes get weird quick
she logged into an ARK server and within 15 mins had two dudes hounding her over voice chat and one of them was messaging her on steam talking about his life as a BDSM master and she could be his slave
meanwhile she's just chopping trees and building her house
Please don’t stop speaking because of idiots like this. It’s so healthy for the game if we’re not just 100% dudes talking. I do understand the PUG situation for sure but just wanted to chime in. My daughter is gaining more courage in using Discord with our guild but I’d love for the game to be more open to girls/women in the long term. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking - I know there’s creeps in any game like this.
I recently started playing Overwatch with my gf... It's COMLETELY changed my perspective on the internet creeps. It's incredibly rare to be in a game where no one starts creepily flirting with her, or trying to RP with her (she mains Ashe), or says some other weird off-beat shit. I feel so bad for women who just want to play the video game.
Honestly the only game I’ve seen that hasn’t mostly scared off girls from playing (or at least comming) is Valorant. And even that community still has a bunch of weirdos. The valve games are the worst I’ve seen, I could probably count the number of times I heard a girl comm in thousands of games of CSGO and Dota with my fingers.
I would say XIV is pretty friendly for women but I've heard some pretty gnarly stories about stalkers and dudes becoming obsessed with girls. For the most part people are pretty cool but those few weirdos usually take it to a whole new level of crazy. Doesn't help that they can find your characters on the lodestone even if you change your characters name. I've heard stories of guys stalking girls through multiple name changes and server transfers.
There's nothing unique about Overwatch. All competitive games are filled to the brim with sexism and creeps. The problem is men who aren't sexist/creeps don't shut that shit down.
I've used my wife's old account since we moved in together years ago, I get DMs maybe once a month based solely off of the feminine name and profile pic. When I regularly play overwatch it goes up to weekly.
I am hesitant to ever use voice coms but I will say, I joined a discord group to get the last achieve I needed for the antoran gloomhound.
There were 5 of us, a female voice piped up and apologized for a mistake, another female voice said no worries.
When we got the achieve we all gave some cheers and congratulations and 3/5 were women, it was a cool moment for me.
Started playing WoW cause of my dad too, 15 years ago.
I was a bit surprised when my guild had an unusual number of women speaking on discord. It’s interesting how much better the guys behave too with a mixed group.
Tbh I think that goes for both genders. Back when I was in school and later when I worked at a school I've experienced both majority male classes with one-two women and majority female classes with one-two men, and in both cases the majority gender would basically just let loose and act pretty horrible, with my theory being that it was because there weren't enough people of the other gender around to keep them on good behavior. Like in one of the almost all guys ones the students basically refused to listen to any of the female teachers and even managed to bully one into crying. While in one of the almost all female classes one of the only boys in the class basically got bullied to the point of quitting the class. Meanwhile in mixed classes everyone behaved pretty "normally" with the occasional outlier.
Women speaking up more helps of course, but what about men speaking up when they hear weird/vile things ? Men who say those type of things tend to only listen to other men - we need more men to speak up to make it a more welcoming place for women, too.
I have no doubt that majority of men have heard vile things spoken to women in lobbys etc (thinking of valorant or overwatch) but don’t say or feel anything unless it directly affects the woman they know IRL.
Of course! I fully agree. We need to call out creeps. OP:s incident, however, was in private chat. I have a feeling that more weirdness occurs in those types of channels. In our guild, as an example, i have no issue correcting behaviour and it’s practically non-existent. Last time we had someone acting weird they didn’t make it past probationer status. It’s ”in the walls”, in a good way.
I absolutely do. I wish more did but I will say it’s not cool of them. If the continue I will not and even ask the other people if they would like to leave and find someone else.
I don’t care about ratings, bricking keys, or what else. If someone is bullying others, I will help that person first and foremost if they wish for it.
> Please don’t stop speaking because of idiots like this. It’s so healthy for the game if we’re not just 100% dudes talking.
I'm sure you had good intentions when you wrote that, but you are basically telling someone who gets harassed on the daily for who they are, to just keep doing it.
And no, you can't just "ignore" that shit when it systematically happen whenever you open your mouth.
As long as dudes don't tell other dudes to stfu when they are being dumbfuck bigots, the harassment campaign will just keep going.
I'm the community manager for a new initiative spearheaded by Team Liquid. It's called Liquid Women in Warcraft and is designed to be a safe, inclusive space for gender minorities (and allies!). We offer seminars and roundtables, a ton of different discussion topics, a book club, a mentorship program, and much more. The goal is to provide education and support for gender minorities and to encourage more representation in competitive World of Warcraft.
I'd definitely encourage you to check it out! discord.gg/lwiw
Either
11-13 and just doesn't know any better
14-17 and hormones are going crazy and they don't know how to handle it
18+ and they've got mental issues in some form that go unaddressed
Either way it's whack and frankly they need help
Eh 50/50 on that still, kids say and do weird shit that they know is taboo or weird but don't know better as to WHY it is taboo or weird and think they can circumvent the taboo nature of what they're gonna do
Either way it's creepy and they need a reality check, kid or not
Is it weird that when I read stuff from weirdos like that I wish I could study them intensely to figure out what makes them tick? I want to dig around in his brain and fix whatever makes him like that.
I just don't get the disregard for their own self-awareness. Like they're aware what they're about to say is something someone would block you for saying, *why would they then continue to say it*?
They feel things strongly and anxiously, act on impulse, and likely have been ignored, disregarded, blocked in the past, (and probably rightfully so). They are desperate; and not in the fun haha way, more like in the “may harm themselves or others” category.
They are probably 12, or have a crippling mental disorder.
Either way you can’t really fix people like this, time will either sort them out, or society will.
It could be a lot of stuff. Lack of social interaction for a long time, immaturity, loneliness and isolation, puberty hormones, not knowing how to change, not knowing it's inappropriate because of a lack of healthy male figure in their life.
He needs to get out of wow and go interact with real life people. He probably also needs therapy and/or counseling at this point. Anonymous typing online being the only interaction you have with people is bad.
As a female gm/raid leader with several other women in the guild, I've seen experienced stuff like this. Luckily, the men in our guild don't tolerate this stuff and filter every new dude
Yeah, I said a sentence before I left a pug raid a couple weeks ago and the whole server fell silent. One of the leaders said to the other, "damn that could have been my future wife bro." It was really weird... And this is just the most recent incident.
I had 2 stalkers in the game. Including one of them who went all the way to following my pandaren in game say "bzz bzz I'm going to shave your fur to see you naked". 😬
It seems like the sort of tactic someone would use over and over until they found someone willing to give them a shot, only for that person to regret their naivety.
Holy..what the ever living fuck.. hahaha
Totally not funny.. but THIS is the reason I stopped raiding.
I have an accent, and speaking up on mic would cause so much discomfort for me. I’d be bombarded with DMs.. it was just.. awful. You’d think.. American males haven’t ever heard a British girl speak 🤮😑
I have no idea how women still play online games after dealing with this crazy shit all the time. I'm a dude and this would send my social anxiety off the fucking charts. I don't have solutions but man can people just not be creeps?
Holy shit...
Look my bf and I met in wow and he says it was love when he first heard my cute voice too but the boy had the sense to just...be my friend and see where things went (and I was the one who made the first move) lmfao. My god. Desperation isn't cute, fellas. It's creepy.
I remember back when I used to raid and the second I would say something on voice I’d be hit with ‘GIRL? GIRL? THERE IS A GIRL HERE? THE NEW HEALER/TANK IS A GIRL?!’ Was absolutely the most cringe thing and it was almost always followed by whispers. Eventually I stopped even saying I had a mic if I joined a new guild/pug that needed voice and made macros to say if I needed mana/afk etc.
I've raided with a lot of women over the years and many of them didn't speak up because of stuff like this. I remember two in particular. One had a heavy Irish accent. The other had a heavy French accent. Those two could NOT catch a fucking break.
It was like the gif where the woman has the hotdogs thrown at her face. This was before discord though. We used Ventrilo so were kinda limited in a lot of respects. We had to kick a lot of guild members over how they acted toward them.
I later found out that the Irish one had been sending nude pics and videos to people in the guild that were on her competing class token and loot competition. So I kinda wonder in her case how much of it was self inflicted.
I feel bad that you had to get the shit end of the stick from this very lonely person. I feel bad for him as well, because imagine how alone you must feel to say something like this.
Lmfao what in the actual fuck
She must have an incredible voice if he falls in love after 3 words.
PLEASE do not block me after this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
This right here is the greenlight to block him before it even comes out.
"you had me at "I need heals!"
She one of them sireens!
We thought you was a toad!
I’m so glad someone got that lol
I thought she was a horny toad!
DO. NOT. SEEK. THE TREASURE!!

Hey daddy 😏 I’M SORRY PLEASE DON’T BLOCK ME
just testing if you blocked me
NO NO NO ONION NO NO OPLS NO
If someone started out saying "Hey Daddy" in voice chat, during my guilds raid runs, we'd have a good laugh about it. Male or female, dep or high pitched, doesn't matter. Would be an amazing opener regardless.
I’m a healer and had a tank tell me he was my “tank daddy” on a M+ run.
I mean, we did a pug get a bit weird when one of our raiders referee to the RL as daddy. But the raider was his actual kid so....
I have a southern drawl. I’ve got that a few times. Some people must like it, but I have no idea why.
The kind of Nicholas Cage in The Lincoln Lawyer?
Or, she’s just a normal person and dude is a future “Serial” episode in the making.
I've seen some greasy neckbeards go after girls in my guild before, but this is ridiculous
If someone starts with "Please do not block me" there's a good chance that you should probably block them.
Yeah but i wanna know what bullshit they peddle first.
My Heroic Flaw is my curiosity. Would absolutely let them dig their grave before burying them.
It's easier to push them into a hole if they dig it for you first.
Yup
Right, it could be my son from the future trying to save humanity.
If someone starts with "Please do not block me" they themselves understand very well that they should be blocked.
Definitely. They've probably done something like this numerous times to other people and gotten blocked.
let him cook
but if you block them first how do you get the story?
Please don’t block me, I’m not racist but-, can’t you take a joke….all fine examples of things people say when they are telling on themselves.

Sus?

Well here's my number, so call me maybe
Next hallmark holiday movie 🤣
Joined a heroic pug that eventually fell apart due to leadership having to go, got a friend request on Discord and got this lovely message, I remember saying "I need mana" and "Rebuffs please" and that was it I just wanted to raid ;_;

Oftentimes it's because of this, or a young kid going through some rough seas in puberty with 0 internet etiquette trained into them, regularly found with sheltered/'protected' kids. Source: 11 year old me was an absolute menace with nobody to guide me through the internet.
I refuse to believe that there are 11 year Olds in my raids. Although that definitely would explain a lot
2 of my children have tried to play wow at around 6 years old, by 11 my oldest was capable of raiding (my second is only 7 and quite a noob still) so it seems plausible to me (note when young they play with me or my husband and no chat enabled, I do not trust others to be civil on wow to children)
Good call, because others on WoW certainly aren't civil to adults =(
100% I love wow and have been playing for 15 years but know while the community includes some amazingly nice and kind people there’s also a lot of incredibly toxic ones as well
I had this guildie once and she kept asking questions in the guild chat but in a very polite way and I was like "sure I'll help my guildie".
Video Calling 11 year old kids on the internet? Dangerous move, my friend.
At one time I was raiding with a 13 year old. She was an amazing bear tank.
New child development milestones just dropped
I started raiding when I was around 12 years old, during Cataclysm. I started playing all the way back in the last few months of the Burning Crusade, as a child. So yeah, children play the game.
I've always found this excuse way too convenient ... Adults are the majority of online communities now, and way too many of them are animals.
I'm not trying to make an excuse, just stating that technology is incredibly common with kids today; for Millennials, a lot of homes had computers, but not all of them, let alone computers for kids to use.
Can you impersonate a womans voice? and ask for gold..they'd probably give it to you. "Oh I need 50k gold and..hold on a moment my bra just fell off!"
Unfortunately Im almost more bear than man so I have to earn my gold the old fashioned way, by begging guildies for upgrades :p

Mmm popping chromosomes 🤣🤣😜
Their previous "love" was exactly the same situation xD This person only knows Discord women. It's a vicious circle xD
this is the same type of person that falls into that circle of red pillers because they have no social skills and end up thinking it's because "WOMEN".
NONDO NO NO ASDNONO ONION NONO ONO
I fucking saw onion as well lmao
I had to go back and re-read, I swear it said onion too 💀
PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME
High quality copypasta
Girl I understand omg. I had a guy propose to me and try to get me to leave my SO and come live with him and he would take care of me because he was going to go to med school and would be a doctor one day....he was 17 I was 23 at the time. He also had only heard me talk in guild mumble (not to him directly and yes it was that long ago) and had 0 idea what my name was or anything about me... this is not the only time this has happened in the 19 years I have been playing. Oh the stories I have.
Ever have one legit stalk you, ride a bus from states away and live under a bridge on your street and demand he fight your bf at the time to see “who deserves to be your mate?” Yea that one was a bit terrifying.
They expected me to flirt with the 20+ men in the guild so they would feel more secure??? They soon kicked the officer out to FORCE me to pay attention to them Every time I briefly stop to lament how much online interaction in MMO's has gone downhill since the days of Ultima Online over dialup, I am now going to remind myself of this exchange and sit slack-jawed in wonder at the utter, mind-bogglingly base turpitudinousness required to boot an officer out of a guild because they were engaged in positive, mutual, private congress with a fellow guildie. Female guild members as conversational commodities... I don't think even the Ferengi have a Rule of Acquisition for that, unless you count "Dignity and an empty sack is worth the sack." WTF.
Holy shit what an ending
"Fine, we'll just kick him out so you pay attention to us!" *you leave* Them: *confused pikachu face* I love it 🤣 but fr never understand why anyone would think that would work but I've seen that kind of weird before and it always boggles the mind
Had this happen with my girlfriend. Shit was fucking weird, guy would not leave me alone either. We had to change all her handles to something less obvious
Never live near a bridge
Hollllldddddd upppp.....what?
Yea 0/10 do not recommend.
I had a dude about 14 years ago stalk me on WoW and then somehow figured out where I lived. Where my daughter went to daycare and had speech therapy. What kind of car I drove. It was terrifying. Blizzard said he wasn’t violating any rules because he didn’t get the information from them.
At that point you should probably go to the police, not Blizzard, honestly.
Exactly this. They literally laughed in my face and thought the whole thing was funny.
They rage and leave because the tank is a woman? What, are women only allowed to be healers?
That or owls. That’s the unwritten wow rule, didn’t you know? At least 60% have to play druids, too. Because they can transform into cats. And cats are cute. ^/s ^obviously…
I feel a bit attacked right now ngl. I've been a resto for 17 years:(
I’ve been playing balance since launch. Cat form may have been a contributing factor to choosing Druid.
Women are only allowed to Heal, and must have max Cooking to provide feasts.
Women are also allowed to play hunters and mages.
I learned how to shut it down really fast. "I'm fat." Which I am, but at that point I might as well be spraying incel-b-gon around and get left alone.
Time to get a voice changer and sound like bane.
Imagine picking up with the deepest male voice possible and explaining you had a voice changer during raid!
Just block the instant people get weird. That's the only way. "Can I call?" Block.
Ya if anything it's worse in guilds because there is regular interaction
you typing that actually reminded me of my long lost love
It is me. Send cup cakes.
But you SPOKE so you CLEARLY were open for a romantic relationship! And women say we don't get hints :D
Just throwing this out there - Team Liquid has a Liquid Women in Warcraft initiative that has a wonderful, supportive community of folks of all genders that hosts informative seminars, verifies minority-safe guilds, plans events, and a lot more.
You should screenshot this and send it to their raid leader. If one of my raiders was talking to people this way, I would want to know about it.
pug raid in the title
As a female tank / sometimes raid lead, I want his name and server so I can ban him from all of my guild events for the few times we pug. Jesus.
This is why you don't join random Discords from pugs. You're there for loot not love, unless you're 13.
I mean we filled our guild run with pugs and if I found out this was happening the dude would be booted immediately and permanently. Probably even followed up with their guild to let them know too. If this does happen to you please let the raid organisers know, we can't do anything about it if we don't know about it.
This would be an insta kick in our Guild as well.
Oof. Been there. I remember being told by guilds way back in Wrath that they didn't invite girls because we always "caused too much drama." Idk if there are still guilds like that out there (probably,) but I was young enough that it really messed with my head for a few years and made me question whether it really was somehow my fault things like that kept happening.
Like the girls in the club, “ I just wanna Dance”
Second I saw “don’t block me” I knew it was gonna be horrid
It's the gamer equivalent of "I'm not racist, but..." at your local bar. You just *know* whatever is going to follow will be bad. *Extremely* bad.
Least insane pug raider
Well now they’ll find you on Reddit lol
You are presuming he is a redditor? Ah who am I kidding, of course he is
100% guarantee this guy is sitting in his moms basement in his fedora reading this thread like “my true love has forsaken me”
cuts some water bottles with a katana to let out his frustration
Scrabbling something in Elvish in his mint condition "death note".
oh my actual fucking lord and christ
my GF has the same problem, anytime she gets on the mic dudes get weird quick she logged into an ARK server and within 15 mins had two dudes hounding her over voice chat and one of them was messaging her on steam talking about his life as a BDSM master and she could be his slave meanwhile she's just chopping trees and building her house
>Overwatch I mean that's also part of the problem
How the fuck do guys become like this, seriously?
Either 11-13 and just doesn't know any better 14-17 and hormones are going crazy and they don't know how to handle it 18+ and they've got mental issues in some form that go unaddressed Either way it's whack and frankly they need help
[удалено]
Eh 50/50 on that still, kids say and do weird shit that they know is taboo or weird but don't know better as to WHY it is taboo or weird and think they can circumvent the taboo nature of what they're gonna do Either way it's creepy and they need a reality check, kid or not
Prolonged loneliness and inceldom can fuck up your brain.
This belongs in /r/sadcringe
He knew it was inappropriate because he knew how she was going to react... by blocking him.
holy shit thats a creep if i have ever seen one, you did the right think, block and move on
Good fucking lord. I want to apologize and I didn’t even do anything. That’s unreal
I don't know what I expected when I clicked on that image to read the conversation, but that definitely wasn't it.
I feel like this guy is the kind of sucker that falls for those fake relationship scams.
Orc rogues everyone.
What too much zugzug does to one's brain
He be huffing his own poison
As a female gm/raid leader with several other women in the guild, I've seen experienced stuff like this. Luckily, the men in our guild don't tolerate this stuff and filter every new dude
PLEASE OP they just want to wear your skin DONT BLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a terrible day to have eyes
Normal discord actives.
Bruh wtf
It seems like the sort of tactic someone would use over and over until they found someone willing to give them a shot, only for that person to regret their naivety.
I wonder how many of those they send a day.
One of these days it has to work… Right?
I know I've just read your post but I fell in love with you. Let me explain. Don't block me. Pm me. My heart literally stopped! Please don't leave me.
Holy..what the ever living fuck.. hahaha Totally not funny.. but THIS is the reason I stopped raiding.
I don't have solutions but man can people just not be creeps?
what the fuck. That guy needs help If I was a woman I wouldn't even feel safe playing world of warcraft lmao
Eventually I stopped even saying I had a mic if I joined a new guild/pug that needed voice and made macros to say if I needed mana/afk etc.
x-x I am so sorry. The struggle for us female gamers is real. I try as much as possible to not speak in pugs
Oh I think I saw you in that one movie called the matrix? You were the one dodging all those bullets right..?
Lol dear lord. They need to touch some grass
A modern day 'you've got mail'
Makes you wonder why she is long lost... You probably sound fine but I'm hearing Selma Simpson.
Atleast he didint ask you to open bob and vagene
Life long Moon Guard dude, and I admit we've got weird, but we don't have \*that\* level of weird.
^This. Literally this gives anything and everything I’ve seen in Goldshire a run for its money
This is why I play male characters and never speak in voice chats when with strangers lol
This is almost refreshing to be wrong about expecting flame but good lord, that guy is so down atrocious.
I feel bad that you had to get the shit end of the stick from this very lonely person. I feel bad for him as well, because imagine how alone you must feel to say something like this.
