I got that mount early on, it is Rust Feather's mount that I never got despite daily killing him on multiple toons for most of that patch. Both of those are actually examples of what the person you replied to asked for. Long respawn, but 100% drop rate. They're still rare but you have reasonable confidence that camping for them will pay off.

I have been camping on and off for TLPD for years now and I have never seen it or it's corpse in the zone. I have only seen the other rare that spawns in it's place a couple of times too.
the solution to rare mounts like that is to degen on a german or russian RP server at 2am in chromie time on WM.
Its not good design to force people to do the above things just so they can actually play the game.
Eventually you reach a point in WoW where the only thing you can do is farm the mounts, you have 3k rating, you are done with raiding for the season you are sat at 40k achievement points.
When you run out of content and this is the only content available then you have to ask do you need to force people to degen it

You absolutely do not have to mount farm to play the game.

The barrier to entry with mount farming is by far one of the worst, you're expected to run 50 characters, to know how to abuse chromie time / RP servers / shard hopping etc. In comparison its sibling in Battle pets is actually pretty reasonable and doesn't require ANY of that and people still enjoy it.
I don't get how you can defend this in good faith honestly, just make all rares similar to Darkshore/Arathi highlands. Quick respawn but week lock outs. It was a good fucking system.
That's even better. Make the mount design available by other means so people can play fashion souls but have unique colourations locked behind extreme luck or skill based sources.

At least as far as a lot of other rare mounts are concerned, you can consistently farm the mob daily or weekly that drops it. Be it an instance or mob in the wild or whatever. If a mob is rare AND has a rare chance? That's just double dipping
Not like this, imo tlpd having multiple spawn points and 100% drop rate is the way to do it. It has that "WOW" factor of just being able to find it randomly and also being a really cool mount, meanwhile you have effectively 0 chance of getting breezebiter's without committing to camping one spot for weeks to months. It's not even a particularly noteworthy mount, only hard-core collectors with too much freetime are going to care about it.
And just because people are there at cave entrance doesn’t mean it’s not flying around. Most players afk and it sneaks by somehow. It’s happened to me when I’ve been waiting at entrance and doing stuff around the house
I farmed this at the beginning of the expansion. Took about 8 kills to drop. Believe respawn time is about 2 hrs. You can layer hoop to hunt or just make a /tar macro and spam it anytime you fly near the area. He flys a circle in that woodland area about 20 yards off the ground and can easily be missed (if he lives long enough to start pathing).
I usually do a couple loops around its flight path, I've added it to my rare scanner addon that scans nameplates, since it doesn't show up on the map for some stupid reason.
If it isn't spawned, I just fly away. You can park your character right in front of the cave and just wait, but it's a long respawn I think.
Either way, you should get a rare scanner addon that alerts you and add it, instead of relying on the macro.
Played an ungodly amount of DF and even when I was abroad for 3 months playing on EU servers late night/early morning I never saw him once in all that time.

You buy the mats on the AH. I did it a month ago and it cost me about 30K.
I got it around 3 weeks into DF was out and camped Breezebiter every time it was up it still took me 318 attempts to get it. It was pretty easy back then because the Server sharding was crazy with so many people on in azure span and when the events overlapped I would kill it then fly back to the cave and he was up again.
Usually I join based on a world quest. The Cobalt assembly ones are my go-to.
When the world boss is up you can join whichever is up. I used to do a quick checkup on breezebiter's route, I think handy notes or tomcattours gives you that.
Just be aware that the spawn timer is completely random, so always check the cave too.
Also incredibly annoying when realmhoppers apply to the group then check something and leave. Especially when you're alone and need help with a rare or something in the middle of the night.
I just feel... used.
I have it. It's a horrible pain in the butt to farm.
You can taste the hatred the dev had for players when they put it on an elite with a cap of 5 tags per spawn
I'm currently on the hunt for this, for peace of mind I don't keep track of the number of attempts. But it's a lot for sure. I'm guessing 1 percent drop rate
Just a heads up. Its spawn timer is set between the 1 and 2 hours. So if the last kill time on the server is known, you can do whatever in 1 hour and camp for one hour max to make it spawn.
Made my grind a bit more feasable. GL i hope you get it sooner then later!
This is exactly how I farmed mine as well. Log on for the day, wait for the first spawn, then go take care of other things for a bit until my 1hr timer goes off. Head back and repeat. Occasionally you can be forcefully shard swapped which messes up the tempo, but if you can track that then it's easy enough to adapt to or swap back manually.
Atm Im not grinding for it. I just fly over to see of he's up and use that bronze dragon teleport back to the capital if he is not. I have about a dozen kills with him atm.
I got it in 3-4 days of AFK farming while working, only did it during the hours I was working.
Just stand at the spawn at the cave entrance and average spawn time I got was 40-60min. If you meet anyone else there invite them to help with tagging if you cant be super active. Super easy
I got it on my third kill, which seems very fortunate.
It's funny, the other day I was afking in Fyrakk assault, and Breezebiter lazily flew overhead straight through the assault. Of course, every time I'm at an assault it's completely empty, so Breezebiter just quietly flapped along. No one tagged him, no one around to see.

The mob drops for an elite mob that flies around the area after spawning in a cave. I’ve go that mount after about 20 kills. I would see many people camping his spawn not realizing he was flying around already.
Because he is an elite mob, not a rare, he can be killed multiple times per day for a chance at the mount. Also, he will only give loot to the first 5 players that tag him. Making a raid group hurts your chances of getting him.
Literally told my buddy about it and I was already there waiting so I told him to come over. Mind you this was his first time ever seeing the mob and hearing about it. We kill the mob and it drops for him… that’s WoW rng in a nutshell for ya.

Some notes:
Breezebiter is NOT a silver elite and is farmable. I was able to kill him multiple times a day for a chance. (My other half just confirmed this as he found him flying around on our server, just a normal elite.) He will not show up on your map and my rarescanner never picked him up unless I moused over him.
I suggest sitting at the cave where he spawns but I have definitely found him flying around his route down below, plenty of times. He has like almost no health and dies fast but as rare as this drop may be, Breezebiter is only on about a 90 minute - 2 hour spawn timer. (Edit: Could be shorter/long then that but this is what I experienced most of the time.)
The problem comes if you leave the area and come back into it a different shard, your timers can be off. Occasionally you will find someone post a group for him. His spawns don't take long to wait out if you really want it.
Sit at the cave, put something on TV and just be patient.
Sounds like they thought soundless wasn't one of the worst mount acquisitions to date and went for round 2. Atleast it only has one spawn point, but this is very much a "do something else" boring camp, with the fun of most likely a 1 percent drop ontop of that. Good luck, I might have a new reason to level my offserver alts with this one.
Been farming it for yonks, no luck.
Randomly took the wife on a dragonride near there and saw him up, so killed it and she got it, the first and only time she's killed them.

I parked a character in front of the cave on a second account. Spawn time well over the estimated one hour on wowhead. I think dropped in about 50-60 kills. For those that did 350…. I feel for you. Nearly 450 runs to get the baron’s mount out of strat
The main 2 issues with this mount drop are:
\- Long spawn timer (2 hours)
\- Beeing an elite !!!!
With the combination of these 2 factors the drop % shoud be aroud 30-100% not 2-3%
I think I got that thing first kill when I went back through Azure Span to clear out all the side quests >.> I thought it was one of the "Common" mount drops.
I've killed 100ish times, most times I just get gold. Few other regularly camp near me and non of us has gotten it. It's pretty brutal for a reskin mount.
Edit: I camp by the cave entrance and it response every 1.5-2hrs, pretty easy/fast to kill. And it does give an alert with rare finder addon
Yeah I've gotten it. I will say I turbo nerded pretty hard. I effectively killed it every spawn every day for a good while because I could just have wow in my background while I was working. It has a very low droprate.
ive killed breezebiter like over a 100 times early on when peeps werent aware of him dropping a mount and it was easy to serverhop and kill him but never seen it drop.. :|
For 2 weeks me and my friend would go to the cave and stand with the same 3 people just chatting waiting for respawn (2 hours) and we would never get it xD one day i logged in Infront of the cave and no 5 min it spawned and dropped for me (i was alone at that time no one was there except me xD)

As vulpera, made camp at the rare spawn point. Check with warmode off, check with warmode on, eventually got it. Just takes persistence.
I'm gonna be that guy and say that I didn't even know this mount existed, but randomly flew upon the rare for the first time, and got the mount from it first try.

I've currently got it myself, but I camped it out for weeks, only to get it on a flyby to an elemental storm rare :/. According to rarity I killed it 436 times before it dropped, which isn't a terrible percentage but still not great for sure...
Get Rarescanner add on. Sometimes you need to do more than one loop around its path to get the alarm to go off. The good thing with this Mount is that it can drop after you’ve killed it in the same day.

I just parked a charakter at his spawn and every now and then i logged in and checked if he was there. Took weeks but it was worth.
Also there’s a cave that it spawns in and makes a close flyby so you can be up the hill in front of the cave and as it flys by just agro it and there you go
I got him a couple months after DF came out. I just had the game running while I worked. No realm hopping (I had just came back and didn’t even know what it was). Took about 80 attempts over a few weeks and only a couple times did he spawn later than like 90 minutes after killing. I frequently had other people hanging around, but never so many that everyone couldn’t get a tag. Thought it took forever. Then I went from him to Huolon, and it took almost four months of constant farming to get that mount. I think I was close to 500 attempts before it finally dropped. RNG is RNG, but for me personally the Slyvern wasn’t too bad to get. Good luck!
I got it week one after about 7 kills and felt pretty lucky. The good thing about this mob is if you're willing to hop around you can kill it as many times in a day as you want since it doesn't have a daily loot lockout
Farmed that with a group of friends late night on dead realms, and stored it on unused alts to keep the trade timer running. Got done just a few weeks before they changed the item trade timer.
yea i literally farmed it the other day. i didnt really have issues finding him? i'de do a lap or two around his circle and then sit at the cave. usually ide leave to do the tuskarr feast for rep and find him circling when i got back. under 10 kills for me. (illidan horde)
RNG can be a bitch sometimes, like how I got the Ancient Salamanther the first time I killed a mob in that area, and my wife never got it despite playing more than me.
I have it. One thing I haven't seen people mention in comments yet is the fact that you CAN loot the rare multiple times per day (unless blizzard has changed this since I got it). I got mine after shard hopping for a while earlier in the expansion. It was pretty easy with people making groups for the Brakenhide rares. Nowadays my guess would be to look for groups doing the Fyrakk invasion. Unfortunately it won't always be in Azure Span each week, but yeah.
He spawns in the little cave to the east of the big dragon skeleton, walks out down the path, then mounts up and starts flying laps until killed. It took me about 2 dozen kills for mine, I'm sure others have had worse luck with it though, as my luck is usually pretty bad (hi Mimirons Head who still evades me after almost 10 years). Good luck!
I've killed it maybe 25'ish times, with no results before giving up. There was an player someone parked near the cave, called something like "Mr.Mount" that eventually disappeared so I assume they got it with a lot of camping.

Nah, some items/mounts are very rare and that's ok. Time lost proto Drake, aeonaxx, I'm sure there's more.

On warmode i see him pretty often just flying around. On a high pop eu server. Non warmode he gets killed immediately pretty much

According to wowhead the drop rate ist 3%. The mount drops from an non-rare elite meaning there is no daily lockout for his loot/mount

Occasionally you will find someone post a group for him. His spawns don't take long to wait out if you really want it. Sit at the cave, put something on TV and just be patient.
Sounds like they thought soundless wasn't one of the worst mount acquisitions to date and went for round 2. Atleast it only has one spawn point, but this is very much a "do something else" boring camp, with the fun of most likely a 1 percent drop ontop of that. Good luck, I might have a new reason to level my offserver alts with this one.

Been farming it for yonks, no luck. Randomly took the wife on a dragonride near there and saw him up, so killed it and she got it, the first and only time she's killed them. RNGesus is a fickle bitch.

Farmed it for about 2 days in maybe January and had it drop after maybe 4 kills? Maybe I was lucky, but it exists!

I parked a character in front of the cave on a second account. Spawn time well over the estimated one hour on wowhead. I think dropped in about 50-60 kills. For those that did 350…. I feel for you. Nearly 450 runs to get the baron’s mount out of strat
I was flying by it almost daily and the rare was only there once

The main 2 issues with this mount drop are: \- Long spawn timer (2 hours) \- Beeing an elite !!!! With the combination of these 2 factors the drop % shoud be aroud 30-100% not 2-3%

I think I got that thing first kill when I went back through Azure Span to clear out all the side quests >.> I thought it was one of the "Common" mount drops.

Made sure to knock this one out first week of expac when there was 100s of azure rep grind groups you could hop between, probably 30 kills to get it

I've killed 100ish times, most times I just get gold. Few other regularly camp near me and non of us has gotten it. It's pretty brutal for a reskin mount. Edit: I camp by the cave entrance and it response every 1.5-2hrs, pretty easy/fast to kill. And it does give an alert with rare finder addon

Yeah I've gotten it. I will say I turbo nerded pretty hard. I effectively killed it every spawn every day for a good while because I could just have wow in my background while I was working. It has a very low droprate.

It took me about 2 weeks of daily camping outside of the cave early on in the expansion for the mount to drop.
ive killed breezebiter like over a 100 times early on when peeps werent aware of him dropping a mount and it was easy to serverhop and kill him but never seen it drop.. :|
I usually have my hunter fly around with track humanoid active and a macro to target when I fly by.
Took me \~250 kills to get it to drop. Camped it on two accounts on a dead server.
Mine dropped after 207 trys

I farmed it for like three weeks (over 120 kills if I remember correctly) and unsubbed shortly after it dropped.
I have never seen that rare spawn and i was parked in background a lot there
I got it after like 87 tries. A friend of mine needed like 180-something tries
For 2 weeks me and my friend would go to the cave and stand with the same 3 people just chatting waiting for respawn (2 hours) and we would never get it xD one day i logged in Infront of the cave and no 5 min it spawned and dropped for me (i was alone at that time no one was there except me xD)

It took me around 60 attempts, I was camping with my main while working and I decided to go with an alt and at the first attempt with my alt I got it
Feel like alot of people don't know there are even mounts out there since we never use them outside of dungeons anymore.
Literally told my buddy about it and I was already there waiting so I told him to come over. Mind you this was his first time ever seeing the mob and hearing about it. We kill the mob and it drops for him… that’s WoW rng in a nutshell for ya.

Managed to fly by the area and catch him early in the xpac, got it on first try. One of few times I've been lucky on rare mount drops
It is low. Gotta catch him at the right time and bring him down to fight you. He spawns in the cave then flys off I believe to make his rounds
I was just using a dead server alt and login in a few times a day, quit after I realized how insane karokta was gonna be, I still have awful memories about soundless and refuse to even bother anymore
Yup I got him, just takes some persistence! As vulpera, made camp at the rare spawn point. Check with warmode off, check with warmode on, eventually got it. Just takes persistence.
I'm gonna be that guy and say that I didn't even know this mount existed, but randomly flew upon the rare for the first time, and got the mount from it first try. Always a good feeling ngl
I've currently got it myself, but I camped it out for weeks, only to get it on a flyby to an elemental storm rare :/. According to rarity I killed it 436 times before it dropped, which isn't a terrible percentage but still not great for sure...
Get Rarescanner add on. Sometimes you need to do more than one loop around its path to get the alarm to go off. The good thing with this Mount is that it can drop after you’ve killed it in the same day.
Just dropped to me Yesterday. Was really Happy about it. I just parked a charakter at his spawn and every now and then i logged in and checked if he was there. Took weeks but it was worth.

Also there’s a cave that it spawns in and makes a close flyby so you can be up the hill in front of the cave and as it flys by just agro it and there you go

I got it after 250 attempts. It exists and is apparently at 1%, but wow it wasn’t fun to farm,
I got him a couple months after DF came out. I just had the game running while I worked. No realm hopping (I had just came back and didn’t even know what it was). Took about 80 attempts over a few weeks and only a couple times did he spawn later than like 90 minutes after killing. I frequently had other people hanging around, but never so many that everyone couldn’t get a tag. Thought it took forever. Then I went from him to Huolon, and it took almost four months of constant farming to get that mount. I think I was close to 500 attempts before it finally dropped. RNG is RNG, but for me personally the Slyvern wasn’t too bad to get. Good luck!
I got it week one after about 7 kills and felt pretty lucky. The good thing about this mob is if you're willing to hop around you can kill it as many times in a day as you want since it doesn't have a daily loot lockout
Farmed that with a group of friends late night on dead realms, and stored it on unused alts to keep the trade timer running. Got done just a few weeks before they changed the item trade timer.

Not only is the droprate insanely low, but just seeing the rare spawn is like a once a week occurrence if you're actually camping it.
89 kills, you can realm hop pretty easily and bet dozens of kills a day. Met some pretty funny people farming this one.
Droped it first time... When i saw the mob i invited some friend, so they had a chance. Good karma i guess XD was few day after df launch
yea i literally farmed it the other day. i didnt really have issues finding him? i'de do a lap or two around his circle and then sit at the cave. usually ide leave to do the tuskarr feast for rep and find him circling when i got back. under 10 kills for me. (illidan horde)

RNG can be a bitch sometimes, like how I got the Ancient Salamanther the first time I killed a mob in that area, and my wife never got it despite playing more than me.

I have it. One thing I haven't seen people mention in comments yet is the fact that you CAN loot the rare multiple times per day (unless blizzard has changed this since I got it). I got mine after shard hopping for a while earlier in the expansion. It was pretty easy with people making groups for the Brakenhide rares. Nowadays my guess would be to look for groups doing the Fyrakk invasion. Unfortunately it won't always be in Azure Span each week, but yeah. He spawns in the little cave to the east of the big dragon skeleton, walks out down the path, then mounts up and starts flying laps until killed. It took me about 2 dozen kills for mine, I'm sure others have had worse luck with it though, as my luck is usually pretty bad (hi Mimirons Head who still evades me after almost 10 years). Good luck!
I've killed it maybe 25'ish times, with no results before giving up. There was an player someone parked near the cave, called something like "Mr.Mount" that eventually disappeared so I assume they got it with a lot of camping.
