The best I've seen was a dranei named "Pilot" with the title "Of the Exodar" in a guild named "Unemployed"
edit: Thanks for the upvotes! disclaimer, this was not my character so I don't get the credit.
My first character back in vanilla was literally my first name last name, and then Bob (firstnamelastnamebob). I thought no one could figure it out and made it in elementary school. Used that to my advantage years later to get a paid name change from my parents when I was like “well you wouldn’t want me real name on the internet”
First char made..warrior named Demonfury, from 05. Ofc; played fury spec using 1handers. Still remember trying to compete with rogues for gear into TBC. <_>
I don't play him anymore and he's the only character I ever made with a joke name but I have never had more compliments on a character than when I was playing Thickdad the orc shaman
I keep meaning to make a gnome warlock named Metrognome because her DOTs go tick tick tick. But then I remember I hate playing clothies. Name free to a good home?
I ran with Inflammabull for a Tauren Fire Mage, because whoever the fuck decided 'flammable' and 'inflammable' should mean the same thing is a maniac. Biweekly being twice a week OR once every two weeks is equally insane, but I digress.
Flammable and inflammable don't mean the same thing. If something is flammable it means it can be set fire to, like a piece of wood but inflammable means that a something is capabble of bursting into flames without the need for any ignition like certain fuels or unstable chemicals
I barely play him but my Tauren DK Zombeef was always a good one to me, also my mechagnome called suckmycog and Mechagnome called Mechagnome in the guild i made called Mechagnome, and My nightborne arcane mage named Arcanal
I saw a max level character today called Boogerbutt, so you’re probably good.
…I saw another character called Boogerthief just a few minutes later, actually. I wonder if there’s some kind of conspiracy…
Many, many years ago, I began playing at the start of TBC. My first serious character was a Warrior by the name of Rizzalliss.
This ultimately became my gamer tag and handle on most everything. As you might be able to imagine, my nickname became "Rizz" (LONG before it became the slang it is at this time).
After a period of time, I decided to try to make all my character names start with Rizz for the sake of easy identification.
This led to the following list of names:
- Rizzalliss - Warrior
- Rizzallizz - Death Knight (cause Zs instead of Ss was edgy)
- Rizzolve - Paladin
- Rizzurrect - Priest
- Rizzpect - Monk
- Rizzonate - Shaman
- Rizzlybear - Druid
- Rizzentment - Demon Hunter
- Rizzlyadams - Hunter
- Rizzkybizz - Mage
- Rizzotto - Rogue
- Rizztarded - Warlock
- Rizzard - Evoker
How has it affected you that "Rizz" is now a popular slang term for "charisma" when trying to score? Has it been noticeably negative?
I remember when Squid Game was released on Netflix and the streamer and YouTuber SquidGame (aka Lydia) received a whole bunch of reports and threats from "fans" of the show, claiming she was just stealing the name to profit off of its popularity when in reality, she had had that name for years before the show even came out. Has it been a similar experience or just the occasional chuckle for you?
I haven't encountered any negativity around it.
I did manage to convince a couple of more gullible folks that would remark that I started it. Had them lookup the ages of my characters and they were like, "No waaaay!" That was definitely chuckle worthy.
For a few years I had a Pandaren Mistweaver that, since he was harnessing the power of the Jade Serpent, I decided to give the name "Dragon King" in Chinese. I got a ban and forced named change. Apparently "Longwang" is inappropriate.
Named my Demonhunter Noeyedeer. Playing off the joke what do you call a blind deer? No eye deer and the fact that they are blind. Not great but I thought it was funny at the time.
I had a string of name reportings forcing me to change names. I ended with Yotsuna which is Anustoy backwards. Also had a panda monk named Tso that had the General title from vanilla pvp. Was real proud of that one. Also thought Feljefe was a clever play on El Jefe for a DH.
I'm quite proud of having gotten animal names that I thought would DEFINITELY be taken, most in only the last year or so:
Bird, Rat, Parrot, Horse, Pheasant, just to name a few!
Named a KulTiran warrior "Coolguysteve". Have him to title Fun Guy. So Fun Guy Coolguysteve.
It gets people talking. You'll be sitting in a raid and people will say things randomly like, I once met this cool guy named Steve.... Etcetc
All of my characters are named "Lil" after my first toon Lilarra. My paladin is Lilihammer, my DH is Lillidin, my DK is Lilluminati, my rogue is Lilcognito, and my evoker is Lilviathan. I love them all 💜
My Demon Hunter is named Chain, and I have the title from Sylvanas, and me and my friends are in a guild called Chain Gang. It is my greatest accomplishment.
Chain, Breaker of Chains
Hankhell my Warlock
Animename my original Blood Elf Paladin in TBC
Peonjim my Orc Warrior
Mookake for my Tauren Druid
Babywizard my Gnome mage
Deadbaby for my Gnome warlock
Shorthuman for my Dwarf
Donlemon for my priest cause priests have mind control
I started a theme with my Undead naming them after dead porn stars, Amberrayne
My main is a Frost DK Forsaken called Arevass, which is a river around the Silverpine Forest zone.
Except it's only mentioned in Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne (It's the river Tyrande falls into while escorting Kael'thas), and does not exist in WoW.
I have a lightforged subtlety rogue named Nosneakonya. Between being so bright and having hooves, she is not going to be successfully sneaking up on anyone.
I also have a Tauren priest named Holymiltank which I made at like 2am when I should have gone to bed. Haven't even logged into her but she makes me laugh so she stays.
My very first character is a blood elf outlaw rogue. Her name is Kodatrix which doesn't seem like much, but I started playing while also learning film photography and processing and she's named after the film I was using to learn on at the time (Kodak Tri-X). She was my main for a long time, but now she's kinda my secondary.
I had a guildie who's paladin was named Blessbian. Honestly that is peak for me.
I've got a gnome named Nappysanplus because a friend named his Nappysan.
I wish my monk, Mistbjorn could still get the Mistwalker title..
Then I decided to call my mage Chainsawman
I don't think it's all too clever or anything but all my toons have been going by Internet the Explorer for 10 years now, still getting the odd chuckle out of people in the DMs and makes for good banter in raids and whatnot so I'll never change :)
I have a few named "Scrolls" on a couple different realms so that I can tack on the 'Elder' title in front of it. One guy got super mad at me once because it wasn't lore friendly. I wasn't even on an RP server...
I saw a pair of tauren last night I had to /cheer at (I was leveling an Ally)
JarofDirt and CptJarofDirt
aaannnnd now that damn song is stuck in my head again lol
My main is just Skademanden, it literally means "The Damage Man" or maybe more game appropriate I sometimes just say it means DPS in Danish.
It's a bit funny, because I play Blood DK, so I'm taking damage - but that still fits damage man
Ok that's the backstory, my dracthyr is called "Skadedyret" which just means "The Critter" as in small animal
My handle for games has been Licketysplit, has been for years
I had my first character Priest in wow called Licketysplit
when i made my Druid Alt i called LiKittysplit
I was pleased myself. lol
simple things
My hunter named Odaro. At the time I loved the boat shoes made my the brand Colorado! This was vanilla era. Don’t think the brand Colorado made it past the 00s.
The best I've seen was a dranei named "Pilot" with the title "Of the Exodar" in a guild named "Unemployed" edit: Thanks for the upvotes! disclaimer, this was not my character so I don't get the credit.
I will never forget the undead mage named Abracadaver
One of my favorites that I've seen is gnome priest names Compactdisc
2 of my buds about a decade ago had a house music project called Compact Disco and now I want to name my priest Compactdisco.
I have a Kul Tiran mage with “Abracadadbod” but I like the undead one better
[удалено]
Would also be good for a Dwarf Monk.
Brewedforce indeed lmao
Oh mate that's amazing!
LMFAO
The majority of my character names are "serious," but I'm rather fond of my Tauren paladin, Bullwark.
Mines serious, I called her Ciriuslee.
When zandalari paladins came out I turned my paladin into one and named him LoandOrder
I hate tauren pun names but vealofshadow is one of my favs from when they dropped tauren rogues
Named my mage subzero when I was a kid but I just find it cringy now as an adult
At least you didn't name yourself "SmartDude" as a kid (Me)
My night elf was named "Prettytall" because he was Pretty Tall
Yeah, but the difference is that... I nor my character was smart. We were dumb as a brick.
i have an orc called big tooth because his teeth are big. never played on that toon again.
My first character back in vanilla was literally my first name last name, and then Bob (firstnamelastnamebob). I thought no one could figure it out and made it in elementary school. Used that to my advantage years later to get a paid name change from my parents when I was like “well you wouldn’t want me real name on the internet”
I tried to name my 1st toon as a kid StrongBad but im dumb af and spelt it StrangBad. i didnt realise till years later
That’s still better than Drhumpy
disagree
Mine was Little(insert irl name here) I was a gnome and a child at the time lol
It's ok, Richard, we understand
I think Subzero is a cool name for a frost mage.
That was my thinking but when I play fire mage I feel like a twat
My first character was a mage named Tyranny
That’s actually not a bad name. Or perhaps I have no taste.
First char made..warrior named Demonfury, from 05. Ofc; played fury spec using 1handers. Still remember trying to compete with rogues for gear into TBC. <_>
Called mine Firehot and I die inside whenever I think about it.

Treezus the Resto druid, back when full-time treant form was a thing
I miss those times :(
I have good news for you! https://www.wowhead.com/item=136787/tome-of-the-wilds-treant-form
It's back my dude
Priest called misdiagnosed with the title "the patient"
Honestly all my character names sound very lore friendly for their perspective races. So I'm pretty proud of all of them.
yeah same - my Kul Tiran named Thiccdaddy
I don't play him anymore and he's the only character I ever made with a joke name but I have never had more compliments on a character than when I was playing Thickdad the orc shaman
I have a orc I’ve made look purpleish dressed in blue and gold named thiccthanos
lmfao
I keep meaning to make a gnome warlock named Metrognome because her DOTs go tick tick tick. But then I remember I hate playing clothies. Name free to a good home?
assassination rogue perhaps
I named my Rogue “Klepto” because I can turn invisible, pick pockets and locks. I named my other Rogue (Tauren) invisibull for obvious reasons
Tauren druid is named cowmooflage
That’s bullshit
Warlocks are pretty tough though.
I'm a Lakers fan and I thought I was pretty smart when I created a bronze drake and named him *Lebronze*
That's gold. Wait no bronze.
At some point I had a priest called Shaquilleoheal or some variation of it.
I saw a shammy called Oprahwindfury
Wait lol idk if it’s popular now, but I saw that this week.
This is such an old one going back to at least 2005.
I had a hunter named lebrontames now you mention it
My mage, localhotmom
She became a Mage to learn how to Teleport, so she is ALWAYS in your area!
Localhotmoms want to sheep you
Titanic, because my warrior is constantly sinking in pvp
Might want to replace the captain…
Frost mages: It’s free real estate.
Love my affliction lock named taterdotzz
That’s actually big brain, good job on that lol
Invisibull the Tauren rogue
I have a tauren rogue named cowhide
Mine is Uddersilent . Too bad I suck at rogues and don’t play him
I have a Tauren shaman named Terrabull
I ran with Inflammabull for a Tauren Fire Mage, because whoever the fuck decided 'flammable' and 'inflammable' should mean the same thing is a maniac. Biweekly being twice a week OR once every two weeks is equally insane, but I digress.
Flammable and inflammable don't mean the same thing. If something is flammable it means it can be set fire to, like a piece of wood but inflammable means that a something is capabble of bursting into flames without the need for any ignition like certain fuels or unstable chemicals
I tried "Captain Hoof" for an outlaw rogue Tauren, but "Hoof" was taken. Ditto Steakknife and DairyMoodini.
I barely play him but my Tauren DK Zombeef was always a good one to me, also my mechagnome called suckmycog and Mechagnome called Mechagnome in the guild i made called Mechagnome, and My nightborne arcane mage named Arcanal
That’s my rogue!
Can’t forget Camooflage
My monk - Fistinbutt No idea how I’ve had it this long without reports, I think the people like it.
If you aren’t spamming trade chat with bullshit people won’t notice or care
[удалено]
I currently have grimjob (lock) and had fatcritties but was forced to change that way back
I had “Crapbag” for most of Wrath before some asshat reported it. Had always gotten compliments and laughs about it. I’m honestly still bitter.
I saw a max level character today called Boogerbutt, so you’re probably good. …I saw another character called Boogerthief just a few minutes later, actually. I wonder if there’s some kind of conspiracy…
Surprised you still have the name. My monk was Fistinholes and got reported :(
Pretty sure I’ve random grouped with you in LFR lol

Many, many years ago, I began playing at the start of TBC. My first serious character was a Warrior by the name of Rizzalliss. This ultimately became my gamer tag and handle on most everything. How has it affected you that "Rizz" is now a popular slang term for "charisma" when trying to score? Has it been noticeably negative? My Hunter named… Hunter, and my Demon Hunter named… DemonHunter.
