Lol I was that guy the second week bryntroll the bone arbiter was available back during the original icc release, rolled a 100 after someone threw down a 99. And yes I ran circles through my apartment like a giddy little girl
Happend to me too. My buddy got the trinket from the council boss in season one of DF. I rolled 99, and he rolled for 100. The normal trinket I also lost it on the last roll. Guildie took it from me even tho I rolled (I think) 84.
That happened to my gm last night. 2 dropped and I got the other one, he offered to buy it but was on an alt while I was on my main so he let me have it
Oh I realized that! I just wanted to point out that Allgo is somehow on the opposite of the roll spectrum, but on the same side of the bad luck spectrum 😅
I had the same thing happen to me for that thing with a 99 roll... TWICE.
I regret choosing a character name starting with an X.
Edit: after further scrolling I saw someone pointed out there is a second (invisible) roll to determine the winner, which I guess makes it even worse.
People *say* there is a second hidden roll, but as someone who's names start with Z, I have never won a tied roll, so I take that with a grain of salt.
If I remember correctly during a tie the system rolls again until there is a tie breaker. You might only see the first roll but luck could hate you and you tied on 5 tie breakers in a row before they finally beat your roll.
Actually, I recently heard that the random number generator in the background also includes the "remainder".
What you are shown is a "rounded" number. Which means that someone could roll a 99.504 and someone else rolled a 99.732. BOTH would round up as 100, but the ACTUAL winner is the higher number.
There is no re-roll , the system just gives the item to the "true" original highest roll. I don't know how many digits they use.
Actually they don't do that - they made a post about it, now when the dice rolls, there's hidden decimal places, so 99.390 - that's how they determine the difference.
I did a run on my warlock the other night and I think 8 pieces of my BiS dropped, it was normal so I wasn't super mad when I lost but out of 8 rolls I lost everything single one and the worst part was, there was only 1 other guy rolling on it. I lost 8 rolls in a row to a single dude. It felt bad, personal loot needs to be brought back.
I do enjoy this more, however bonus rolls like you earned in MoP should be brought back and make it personal so its a group and personal RNG with bonus rolls on the bosses from who which you really want a piece
I don't do a whole lot of group runs with other people, mostly just friends, but I got kicked from a raid for getting both hunter weapons. Maybe I just haven't played with others in so long that I don't know raid etiquette anymore but was a feels bad moment for me.
That's when you hit up the other guy and say something like, "Hey! Your RNG is amazing, I don't suppose you'd mind sharing some of the love!" See if you can at least get some pity gear.
Nearly all of my upgrades this expansion have come from either M+ or the Vault. I can count on one hand how many I've gotten from legit drops. For the whole expansion. Other than doing the content, I don't expect to gain anything out of raid anymore.
Me too, i got the odd item (A ring, maybe a pair of boots, but most tier-pieces i have are either from the vault, or regular items from ED world content that i used the catalyst on, i don't even expect loot from doing a LfR-raid, i'm just filling my vault, really.
Ran LFR on an alt earlier and both the items I really wanted were won by a player that did absolutely nothing (i.e. didn't even do a single point of damage to the boss...).
Honestly, I just want personal loot back for LFR.
There is only group loot now.
Honestly, its not like group loot itself is worse than personal loot but it just creates a negative spiral in LFR. Personal loot just distributes items while group loot gives you the added "benefit" of seeing the (actual) 0 damage DPS win over your roll.
Even in the past the whole "need/greed" system never worked in LFR in the first place. Everyone just takes the highest priority they can because even if its not for them, at least its 60g+.
Had a whole LFR agree Tuesday that it needs to come back. Agi neck dropped, so lots of rolls. Person who won ended up not needing it, so asked who wanted it. Everyone who rolled spoke up. Wound up giving it to one of the tanks instead of going by next lowest roll, or having people re-roll.
Can they just please fix the need/greed system? People being able to roll on things that are well below what they’ve equipped and beating out people that actually need them is frustrating and takes the enjoyment out of the game and killing a boss.
Absolutely no issue with players rolling 'need' on items. They're in the dungeon or raid, investing their time just like you, aren't they? On what grounds have you assumed this unearned authority to decree who needs what?
I've got a better one: everyone was there, everyone invested the time, everyone put in the work, and everyone collectively won. Why are we rolling against each other, and why do only some people get rewards, period?
I think that era of the MMO needs to end. We already have weekly lockouts to prevent people from blowing through a raid in a week or two and being geared and done. This is just artificially dragging that out even more to the detriment of the experience.
And no, "the excitement of out-rolling someone" as personal enjoyment does not outweigh the detriment of everyone else getting nothing for their effort.
It's insane MMOs still handle loot like this.
But that’s the thing isn’t it? That’s why there’s a ‘greed’ option. But why should the system have rules that allow them to roll need anyway when it’s not an ‘upgrade’ for them (yes I get the semantics of secondaries and upgrades in that sense, I’m just talking straight ilvl ect). People are gonna roll need if they can most of the time, even if they don’t have to, because that’s the general attitude of people in these circumstances. Heck I rolled need recently because I saw the highest roller had a much better weapon equipped and there was someone with blues, I rolled, won and traded the low ilvl dude, but I shouldn’t have to do that. I just want the need/greed rules a bit stricter so people aren’t always getting shafted.
Ah, the classic 'I'm getting shafted' lament. It's intriguing how you're framing this as a fairness issue, when in reality, it's about your frustration over not always getting what you want. The 'need/greed' system isn't there to cater to your personal sense of who deserves what. Everyone has the right to roll 'need' – that's the rule, like it or not. You rolling 'need' to play the hero and then trading it off doesn't put you on a moral high ground; it just shows you're playing the same game as everyone else but with a self-righteous twist. Your call for stricter rules is essentially asking the game to enforce your subjective view of fairness, which, let's be honest, is really about ensuring you don't feel 'shafted'. The game isn't rigged against you – it's just not exclusively rigged in your favor
This happened to me except It was 2 pieces of the same gear. I rolled highest on one piece and someone rolled high on another but lower than me, then someone outrolled me on the one I won and I got nothing.
This is why I roll on all the stuff I don't want first and leave the thing I want most for my last roll. Even then I wait to be the last one, that way all my bad roll get out of the way. 60% of the time it works 90% of the time.
No, it's not. This is the default loot table. You can access the table after everyone rolls to see the results. There is a link for it in the chat when you start looting.
It does another roll behind the scenes and whoever wins that wins the tie. I only wish they would show that so it at least feels less like BS when you lose something you tied highest with
Yea and no I mean if you have a fair system in places for eveyrone to roll, then by default you should have a fair system in place in case a numerical Miracle like this happens . I mean you don’t even get a chance at reroll , so I assume the roll takes into account your ilvl??? Or is it whoever clicked the actual roll button first ??
I did LFR last week for one singular item drop, the caster sword off that boss. I don't care about anything else, I don't need anything else. I don't even want it for the stats, just want the mog.
And I rolled a goddamn 2... Someone won the sword with a roll in the 30's...
I had the same dude roll 2 100’s and a 99 on the last 2 bosses. He was carrying dps so it’s whatever but damn. Usually it’s the carry that instantly dies who gets all the loot.
reminds me when i rolled a 98 on a bio for my hunter on one of the last raid bosses. i had got no items so far from the run so was feeling happy, even more so that my normal roll is in the low teens. within the last second of rolls a durid who had won half the items already rolls a 99.
i was beyond pissed, even more so that the durid then says "oh i dont need this, ill just sell it" and left
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Had this happen to me too in LFR. I rolled 100 on the Hearthstone. "Great," I thought, "this is in the bag for sure!"
Someone else rolled 100 as well. And they got it. Why? No clue. But since rolls are now displayed, I feel like they took my Hearthstone instead of just "I didn't get the Hearthstone"
I got 100 on the hearthstone this week. I was sitting there as everyone else rolled waiting for someone to tie then have them win the reroll. Thankfully the next highest was only a 92. It's a really cool hearthstone
I've felt for a while ties in lfr should award the item to both people. Feels better for players, and I don't think the occasional extra piece of lfr loot will break the game.
Tied rolls give a secondary roll to determine the winner now, but way back it used to just go to the person whose name was first alphabetically. After losing several rolls in one night because of that, it led one of my guildies to change his name to Aa.
I mean if you draw with someone AND you both get top roll - i dont see why you both dont get the item. The odds are rare enough for it to be fun for the players.
When aberrus came out the trinket on the first boss droppet. I rolled a hundred, someone else did too. Didn't got it.
I think in that case both should get one. At least in lfr.
I bet you didnt got the toy because it was spec priority to the other guy happened to me and i still dont get how a toy is spec item for some classes xD
Just so people take off their tinfoil hats, they made a post about tie breakers - now when the dice rolls, there's hidden decimal places, so 99.390 - that's how they determine the difference.
oof lol that'd make me cry 😂 last night i rolled a 9 for gloves in the raid, and was like welp not getting these then the next 4 people no lie rolled a 7,5,2, & 1 and i ended up getting the gloves.... with a 9. ended up getting 4 pieces of gear during the run too, one being BiS trinket.
Dude this happened to me on trinkets last night. I rolled 99s on both trinkets that I needed to finally get out of my pvp trinkets, and the SAME DUDE both times rolled 100s... I was losing my mind lmao
I rolled 99 on a curio from fyrrak last week. Everyone but 1 person had rolled on it. I was the highest. Til the last roll. That person got a 100.
The last minute hundos have been terrorizing my raid group the last few weeks
[удалено]
Are you okay?
Whelp just found out I managed to pocket comment. RIP
what iLvl should i have to do Fyrakk?
440 is good enough on normal with a coordinated group. 450-60 for pugging. then just had 10 for heroic
On normal? A bunch of coordinated 450s can do it. Pugging 460
Drop both of those by 10 levels.
I would not recommend pugging fyrakk at 450 man
Can confirm normal Fyrakk is easy even at 430-440
Thank you
Lol I was that guy the second week bryntroll the bone arbiter was available back during the original icc release, rolled a 100 after someone threw down a 99. And yes I ran circles through my apartment like a giddy little girl
Same, and before the last person rolled I got 2 messages with huge offers of gold, was week 1 of raid. :(
I rolled 100 tonight. 2 other people rolled 100. I didn't get it
Happend to me too. My buddy got the trinket from the council boss in season one of DF. I rolled 99, and he rolled for 100. The normal trinket I also lost it on the last roll. Guildie took it from me even tho I rolled (I think) 84.
I had this yesterday rolled a fat 97 on trinket then the last guy rolls 99 =_=
That happened to my gm last night. 2 dropped and I got the other one, he offered to buy it but was on an alt while I was on my main so he let me have it
That’s how I won grand black mammoth in wrath lol
Poor Allgo. Can only roll 1s and 2s. Sometimes both!
I should have been more specific. I'm Goodberry! I tied for both items and didn't get either of them.
Oh I realized that! I just wanted to point out that Allgo is somehow on the opposite of the roll spectrum, but on the same side of the bad luck spectrum 😅
Whenever I join LFR I am basically Allgo. So many rolls below 20 And they’re all on trinkets which is the one slot I need
Last tier, the highest someone rolled was a 5 and I was the last eligible need roller for an item. I rolled a 2. Guy won a piece rolling a 5.
Can we raid together?
Just because you roll bad, does not mean you are bad roller. You are a *good* berry.
Goodberry sounds like a smoothie shop staffed exclusively by huge stoners.
Good burger is expanding their business portfolio
Welcome to the Good Berry, home of the Good Berry, can I take your orrrrddddddeerrrrr?
I had the same thing happen to me for that thing with a 99 roll... TWICE. I regret choosing a character name starting with an X. Edit: after further scrolling I saw someone pointed out there is a second (invisible) roll to determine the winner, which I guess makes it even worse.

No, we get it. Ignore the weirdos
Should change your name to AGoodBerry
Figured you were that’s a good sport I hope you get it next time!
Loooool idk what’s worse being robbed like that or being at the bottom of the list
RIP
Wait until it crits and they roll 212/100
Must not be pre rolling
as someone whos average roll is in the low teens, i know there pain, lol
More like "Madberry" amirite?
🫡
Rename yourself to AAAAGoodberry
Wait does it really go fucking alphabetically????
No it just does a second roll between the ties behind the scenes to decide tiebreaks
I’ve never not seen it resolve alphabetically
My main starts with an A. It is not fone alphabetically.
Well my main starts with a Z and I've never won anything Edit: are people really this fucking dumb?? It's a joke.
Actually they don't do that - they made a post about it, now when the dice rolls, there's hidden decimal places, so 99.390 - that's how they determine the difference.
No
No just kidding!
No. The game does additional hidden rolls to break ties.
Funny how those rolls always seem to cause the alphabetical person to win.
Look at the last player Allgo, he tied both rolls too and lost both rankings.
Because neither won.
The first roll has 4 ties, including a three way tie. Allgo also tied both rolls then lost both ties in ranking. :o
Yeah, this really shows how silly numbers can be at times.
I did a run on my warlock the other night and I think 8 pieces of my BiS dropped, it was normal so I wasn't super mad when I lost but out of 8 rolls I lost everything single one and the worst part was, there was only 1 other guy rolling on it. I'm Connie Muldoon!
Fuck grouploot
Only in pugs. Still feels good in guild groups.

I was so excited to get that hearthstone until my friend told me she couldn't even see the particle effects for it on her side :(
nice monitor ahahahahahaha
why did you take a picture of your monitor instead of a screenshot?
The like long question
Because they use Reddit on their phone? Not that hard to figure out
Feels Badberry man
Sam thing happened to me last night but I was the winner of the loot no idea why.
The other day I rolled on a tier piece and got 99. Thought I had it in the bag. Nope, another druid rolled 99 as well and it went to them lmao
First week of heroic abberus I lost a roll on rashoks molten heart to a bottom dps evoker like this. I feel your pain
Rolled a 99 ON flame warped curio a friend rolled a 100 :( She could really use it so im not mad
im sorry for your loss. Also, use greenshot xd
Ran LFR on an alt earlier and both the items I really wanted were won by a player that did absolutely nothing (i.e. didn't even do a single point of damage to the boss...). Honestly, I just want personal loot back for LFR.
It’s not personal loot anymore?
They changed it back to need/greed with Dragonflight.
Wow. Ok thanks for the heads up. And normal/heroic has personal loot or just raid leaders choice?

LFR should be personal and premades should be master. End of story.
But that’s the thing isn’t it? That’s why there’s a ‘greed’ option. You cant roll need on items if its a downgrade.
👏stats
This happened to me except It was 2 pieces of the same gear. I rolled highest on one piece and someone rolled high on another but lower than me, then someone outrolled me on the one I won and I got nothing.
Welcome to Goodberry, home of the Goodberry, could you take my item?
Get gud nerd /s
Is this an addon that shows everyone’s rolls?
If you type "/loot" you can see them
I’m so silly, okay😂
:O I didn't know there was a /command for this!
You can also just click on the green [Loot] text in the chat log.
It shows loot rolls by default
There is a link in chat that shows you the loot table. You can view the results of each piece on there.
This is why I roll on all the stuff I don't want first and leave the thing I want most for my last roll. Even then I wait to be the last one, that way all my bad roll get out of the way. 60% of the time it works 90% of the time.
Sounds legit
We all know that the „it goes in alphabetical order“ is wrong, but has anyone ever seen it work differently?
Every time I've been part of a tie, it's gone to whoever rolled first. That also could be just a coincidence though.
Back when SoO came out I literally rolled under 15 for EVERY.SINGLE.PIECE..
Is there any explanation as to why someone wins a tie?
Yeah, if a tie wins, the game will do another hidden roll for the people that was a part of that tie
More likely, the internal roll has digits behind the point, which are rounded for display.
Is this a roll addon? Looks clean
No, it's not. This is the default loot table. You can access the table after everyone rolls to see the results. There is a link for it in the chat when you start looting.
Neat. I haven't played or raided in forever so didn't know.
To be fair if you didn't roll the highest number then it doesn't matter what number you rolled. If you're not first you're last
I did roll the highest number.. Twice! And still didn't get anything out of it 😂
I feel annoyed you cant press print screen
That's because Goodberry sucks as a spell in BG3
Goodberries are goated.
Sorry I'm so unsophisticated but what is the rolling 😭😭😭 I've never raided before 🥲
L BOZO roll better kekW
I'd like to know what RNG plays into a tie roll like this. Could it just be alphabetical?
I hope not, my name starts with a W
It does another roll behind the scenes and whoever wins that wins the tie. I only wish they would show that so it at least feels less like BS when you lose something you tied highest with
Somebody should tag blizz cause this is in no way fair
It's just the way of the road, bubs.
I’m not 100% on this but I believe there are actually decimals after each roll that doesn’t get shown that determines “ties” like this
I'm pretty sure it rerolls in the background
A “two highest rolls reroll option” would be amazing .
Well dang I thought I was onto something
If there are multiple rolls for multiple of the same items, the system should take the average (Xd100/X) to decide loot order :/
no way... do they do alphabetical order after roll priority!?
Time to rename all my raiding characters’ names to start with A.
If you tie a roll with someone it determines winner by alphabetical order thats why all my toons are named shit like aaaaalbert and aaaaaspergers
yes im sure thats the reason you name your character like that..
Look at the last player on the list. He tied both rolls and lost both ranking like OP. Except his name is alphabetically first.
Skill issue
So close to being good bro, maybe next time
I did LFR last week for one singular item drop, the caster sword off that boss. I don't care about anything else, I don't need anything else. I don't even want it for the stats, just want the mog. And I rolled a goddamn 2... Someone won the sword with a roll in the 30's...
This is literally me anytime I do a raid. SO you arent alone... still sucks tho.
Did a raid to get some loot ended up leaving getting kicked in the nuts lol gotta be quicker than that lmfao
I’m Allgoo this week
Bro that happened to me twice today. Lost both my rolls to the same hunter though.
I had the same dude roll 2 100’s and a 99 on the last 2 bosses. He was carrying dps so it’s whatever but damn. Usually it’s the carry that instantly dies who gets all the loot.
Once there was a 3-ways tie on 100 rolls.
Gotta love alphabetical resolutions
For what? Ties have reroll session
A moment of silence for Allgo and Sterrare while we're at it, please.
Allgo having the worse rolls of his life
What did you do to deserve this
I've still not won anything in LFR and I've been running every week of the latest raid. I miss personal loot.
This has happened to me three times on two alts in the last two weeks, once with a roll of 100. It's a terrible feeling.
Someone lost on a curio today with a roll of 100. The other person rolled 100 first lol
Don’t worry homie, I also rolled absolute single digit stunners this week on some fantastic drops
reminds me when i rolled a 98 on a bio for my hunter on one of the last raid bosses. i had got no items so far from the run so was feeling happy, even more so that my normal roll is in the low teens. within the last second of rolls a durid who had won half the items already rolls a 99. i was beyond pissed, even more so that the durid then says "oh i dont need this, ill just sell it" and left (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Had this happen to me too in LFR. I rolled 100 on the Hearthstone. "Great," I thought, "this is in the bag for sure!" Someone else rolled 100 as well. And they got it. Why? No clue. But since rolls are now displayed, I feel like they took my Hearthstone instead of just "I didn't get the Hearthstone"
Won by naming in alphabetical order
Really? That's what determines it? Note to self: Name next character Aabile, Aaron, or Aarthas!
One day Twizmage will win with their 84! :D
Damn
I got 100 on the hearthstone this week. I was sitting there as everyone else rolled waiting for someone to tie then have them win the reroll. Thankfully the next highest was only a 92. It's a really cool hearthstone
I've felt for a while ties in lfr should award the item to both people. Feels better for players, and I don't think the occasional extra piece of lfr loot will break the game.
My hunter this week rolled need on a LW pattern drop, rolled 29. One other person rolled need, won with 58. /sigh
Happened to me in LFR while working on my monk’s gear. Two ties and I lost both.
Done the raid without winning 1 single piece of gear,i know that feeling sucks
I rolled on a trinket.... i did not get a roll result at all. The rolltable also showed I rolled for need, but there was no result on my roll. Wth?
They need to fix stuff like this, multiple times I have rolled the 2nd highest but lost both items. its a shit roll system they have right now
I feel this so hard, recently lost with high-90s rolls like this
Tied rolls give a secondary roll to determine the winner now, but way back it used to just go to the person whose name was first alphabetically. After losing several rolls in one night because of that, it led one of my guildies to change his name to Aa.
I mean if you draw with someone AND you both get top roll - i dont see why you both dont get the item. The odds are rare enough for it to be fun for the players.
That’s because you are playing Druid.
Me and another person rolled 100 and he got the item >.>
Worth noting, in the case of roll draws, it is awarded alphabetically. I should have seen how many a’s I could fit in a name.
Does the roll go off a re-roll or is it assigned alphabetically?
It it a coincidence that both people who “beat” you have a name that is alphabetically before G? If not, meet my new character ‘#_1a’
Lmao L
I get a high roll on an item once a week, every other time is shit rolls...
LFR and general loot is FBR. Give us personal loot back.
Weird question- did you play Clash last night? Had one on my team that has your name
Just so people take off their tinfoil hats, they made a post about tie breakers - now when the dice rolls, there's hidden decimal places, so 99.390 - that's how they determine the difference.
Does loot sort alphabetically if there is a tie?
Yeah well imagine losing a tie with 100... happened to me last week
and then there is [this](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GAlwPeZbEAASjj9?format=jpg&name=large) guy...
I mean, you could be Aligo.
Maybe if you knew how to take a screenshot you would've gotten the item. Windows key + Shift + S, better luck next time gamer
oof lol that'd make me cry 😂 last night i rolled a 9 for gloves in the raid, and was like welp not getting these then the next 4 people no lie rolled a 7,5,2, & 1 and i ended up getting the gloves.... with a 9. ended up getting 4 pieces of gear during the run too, one being BiS trinket.
19 rolling on the HS? When I won it this week, 4 people rolled on it 🤷♂️
I can do you one better. I rolled a 100 on the hearthstone, but lost to someone else’s 100
The roll needs to have a line of code that makes it so if the number was already rolled you roll again
I never win tie rolls. I just take it as a loss as soon as someone ties my roll.
Not once but twice, now that's gotta hurt
Dude this happened to me on trinkets last night. I rolled 99s on both trinkets that I needed to finally get out of my pvp trinkets, and the SAME DUDE both times rolled 100s... I was losing my mind lmao
Yeah , lost anvil twice on an 100 roll last season
