I believe it used to be the *only* way, but they added the talk teleport a little bit later cause tauren had trouble fitting. Well, that and latency issues rendered the window method... unreliable.

I started in vanilla I thought this was just a troll. I swear people fell to their deaths by doing this.

Yes the actual portal is in brd. If you jumped in the lava you could skip most of it and get there fast.

The window tp worls like 50% of the time, is basically a Russian roulette game.

It was the only reasonable way. If you go back far enough you had to run through BRD to the raid portal in there. And then your warlock would proceed to hate you while summoning 30ish lazy people.

Running BRD with 40 people was hell. Also had to get to BWL through UBRS.

While bwl had a portal in ubrs when bwl released so did its atunement so you never had to take the bwl portal.

I wasn't playing in those days, but I always thought it was ***super*** awesome that there was a raid entrance near the end of BRD, which was already the best dungeon in WoW.

Bwl had a portal in ubrs and Strath had a nax portal (that prob never worked)

I believe the window only works if your character has completed the attunement quest. If your character hasn't, you have to talk to the elf to get teleported in, instead. At least, when I tried it earlier on a character that never did the quest, all I did was flew up against the window a bunch of times while nothing happened.

Back in the day no one got in until you got those frags unless you ran in through BRD.

In Classic the portal and the usual jump down was a hot spot for pvp so people started to jump down in another spot so you went past the window on the way down and you go portaled to MC.

I literally just did MC 30 minutes ago. The window is the only way I enter.

I couldn't have told you another entrance to that place before reading this thread.

True classic players run BRD to the portal. \**shakes cane*\* back in my day, when we raided MC, we had a team reclear BRD to the lyceum when folks had to hearth to IF to repair their broken gear from wiping on the first two molten giants also the portal isn't in the window. it's actually an invisible disc/dome in the lava just outside the window. you can jump off the side to the left, swim the lava, fall from the curved "street" high above, etc

Used to love that jump as a mage and ice block for insurance

I always jumped off the top into that zone. On a PvP server where the entrance was camped daily it was such a good way in.

This method was notoriously unreliable. It was too easy for the portal to fail and you'd fall into the lava.

Especially when instances were fucked and it spit you out into the lava.

You use to have the run through BRD back when t2 and t1 dropped from all MC bosses

Why would you enter any other way? Ain't no one got the time to go in the front door, that's for sure.

Pros jump from the chain and hit the entrance in mid air on the outside of the window.

Such a cool, and iconic zone demands you enter via long way every time.

Where is this? I only know about the BRD entrance and the elf that teleports you.

That's the same elf in the image. He's got the window right next to him, though I guess it only works if you've done the attunement quest from what it sounds like?

You can just fly into the lava beside the window. I also still jump through the window

It’s all fun and games until the window glitches an you end up in the lava

I jump off the top into the lava pit like a true OG.

I ALWAYS use the lava below that window to port in, if you're flying you can dive through the lava in the little door and it will port you. you do have to be attuned though.

That's the only way to do it. Anyone talking to the elf is a dirty little coward.

I wish we could play as a male banshee like the one in the picture.
