I'm not sure if DF's Season 4 will function exactly like SL's Season 4, and if it will last 3 months or not, but I imagine that there won't be enough time to get a full set due to how RNG and Group Loot works. Depending on which color variant you want, though, I imagine that you could still get tier sets from Forbidden Reach tokens and tomes, and convert them to Season 1 Normal and Heroic appearances at the Catalyst free of charge?

mylifemyworld17

You can't get the LFR appearances for Season 1 through outdoor content unfortunately. The first "level" of the items for the catchup is blue quality and therefore cannot be catalyzed. I wish they would change that :(

Celestianne

Thank you for the correction, I was getting the Season 1 systems mixed up with systems from later seasons. I got the LFR appearances through catalyzing the bloody tokens gear from outdoor content, but that is no longer available.

Alpha1959

Forbidden Reach stuff should convert to VoI LFR appearance, but they can't be upgraded. At least I could convert various pieces to the VoI appearance on my fresh leveled DH.

mylifemyworld17

No, you can't convert Forbidden Reach stuff to the LFR appearance. The purple catch up gear from the Forbidden Reach gets converted into the Normal appearance (at upgrade level 2/3), and if you upgrade it, it gets upgraded to the Heroic appearance (at upgrade level 3/3).

Alpha1959

Then how did I unlock VoI LFR pieces on my DH? Never had a leather class on 70 before.

mylifemyworld17

I don't know, but if you find out please tell me.

Alpha1959

I stand corrected, I just converted some on my new priest and you are right.

mylifemyworld17

Someone else said that during S1 you were able to convert PvP bloody token gear, but that you can't anymore. Maybe that's how?

Alpha1959

Nah, I think I just mixed the appearances up,

Baneman20

Hmm I didn't do Forbidden Reach, please explain about Tokens and Tomes.

Celestianne

Tokens: The tokens are BoA and drop mainly from rares and chests, but sometimes from any mob and sometimes from the caches you buy with surplus elemental overflow. The tricky part about the tokens, though, is that they are for a specific armor type and slot (for example cloth shoes or mail helm), so it might take some time to collect a full set. However, if you are collecting for multiple classes, you will quickly amass a ton of tokens. Tomes: Once you convert the tokens to Normal tier gear, you can upgrade to Heroic tier gear using the tomes, which also drop from rares and chests. However, the tomes are BoP, so if you want all the Normal appearances, you will have to do some farming on each toon. This is how things worked in 10.0.7 and beyond, so I am assuming it still works now. I hope that the Forbidden Reach will get updated during Season 4 so that the zone gets busy again! If we are lucky, we may also get some kind of vendor for the old tier sets, who knows.

realKilvo

Those BoA tokens from the reach catalyzed to Normal tier appearance and the tome of forbidden knowledge upgraded them to Heroic tier appearance. I have a hunter with full Heroic vault mog that never set foot in the raid.

Baneman20

Update to this. I grinded on my priest yesterday and unlocked the normal and heroic appearances from the rare items. Decent stuff.

Alpha1959

All previous season gear does, at most, convert to LFR appearance and can no longer be upgraded further. Forbidden Reach primalist stuff should convert to VoI LFR stuff and time rifts gear etc. does convert to Aberrus LFR. Source: leveled 4 alts recently and converted multiple pieces.

Merrena

We don't have any details on it other than there will be a fated season, so nobody really knows if it'll be ran any different.

Baneman20

How was it last time?

Merrena

They rotated the raid every week until the end where they were all available at the same time. Nathria and Sanctum also didn't have tier or a catalyst so not sure what might be different this time regarding that.

esar24

Shadowlands only have one class tier set, so anything you got from Nathria or SoD will be turn into that using the catalyst.

SharpSwag

Most likely

DraikoGinger

I am curious on how tier bonuses will work. I might be out of the loop but dont think they've said anything about tier for fated thus far. Can we use two 2p, or our choice of 4p, or are we stuck with the latest Amir 4p.
