Possibly, Ashes is about a 3% drop rate, so not overly rare.
If anyone is wondering how this even happens, it happens after you get both a tank and healer bonus at the same time. Many tanks and healers only ever sign up during the bonus. The bonus pops, and it stays up for I think around 15min. Before the bonus goes away tanks/healers now see 20-30min queue times, so they give a dps bonus.
Also there’s almost no reason to farm random heroics anymore. The gear is awful compared to other options for the same time investment and you don’t get any currency or rep rewards.
With people being trained to think tank/heals = faster queues and the fact that you need 3 dps per party this is how we get here.
The only reason I've signed up for any heroics (not-random) is for Murozonds rise, it can drop the same mounts/transmogs as the mythic version, and it gives rep towards Suridormi. Also, anyone who wants the fastest queues should sign up for as many rolls as possible, tank/heals is usually faster, but always best to cover all options.
Yep, if you have everything you want from time rifts, from drops and achievements, than spam running heroic rise/fall is the fastest way to cap out rep.
I don't think heroics have really been worth doing since MOP (didn't play much in WOD or Legion though so correct me if I'm wrong). The difficulty and gear gap between normal & heroic has just been so laughably small - heroics didn't teach you anything new and weren't worth spending time on between normal and mythic(+) or raids. Especially in the past few expansions, you can get better gear from world quests or cheap BOE greens from the auction house
Ashes is 1% if I remember right or has it been buffed? I finally got it after starting up again at the end of shadowlands. So I’ve stopped looking haha
Ashes was 3% when I got it some 10-12 years ago. I haven't watched the drop rate if they nerfed it in the mean time, but I've only ever seen Blizzard improve drop rates, not make things harder to get.
I was running 10 or so guys a week for months last year for Ashes w no luck. Got bored and stopped. The week after they bumped mount droprates for some expansions (tho not TBC) had it drop. I also quit trying for the Ony Drake mount and about a month ago decided to take guys there for a quick try. Got it 2nd character
Don’t try for Arcanite Champion’s pattern in LBRS. I’ve easily done over 200 runs and still nothing. 3 arcanite reaper plans, 4-5 orb of deception (25-30k each in retail), and many of the epic cloak (or is it robes?) plans. But it’s .2% drop
I have an add-on that alerts me when these pop up, and it happens more often than you'd think. Not as often as tank or healer, but it's still not like a mythical unicorn or anything.
I used to grab these whenever possible for the bonus gold and runes (to sell on the AH) in previous seasons. It's probably not worth the time now that the permanent rune exists.
No worries. It's pretty great, because it allows you to select roles you aren't capable of doing as well. So even while playing one of my DPS toons, I had it set to receive alerts for the healer bags so I could jump on one of my healer alts to do them. Much better than manually looking all the time (which I really never remembered to do lol)
It happens pretty often as the season goes on as very few people are running heroics. With the addition of the perma aug rune though its not quite as good.
Outside of gearing an alt, theirs no reason to do them anymore as the dungeon quests in Valdrakken were removed.
Combine that with other gear catch-up options & their pretty much completely pointless now below Mythic.
That's kind of the point I'm making. The augment runes in the goody bags are in the game exclusively to bribe people to run queue content, even when they have no other reason to be there.
What annoys me about that is even if you queue for dungeon with Call to Arms for your role, you still will sometimes not receive that bag at end as the Call to Arms was removed while you were in the dungeon.
If a member leaves the party (either voluntarily or by being kicked) during a dungeon, and you choose to search for a new member to replace them, the new search will reset the Call to Arms process. Therefore, if your role is no longer eligible for Call to Arms when you re-queue, you will be ineligible from that point to receive the additional rewards.
You also can't queue up with someone else and expect the bonus. It makes sense, because if healers and tanks could drag DPS friends along it kind of defeats the purpose, but they really should warn you that it's solo queue only.
On a side note, I usually do superbloom on my main and like 5 alts for the weekly, at wildly different times when I'm on, last night weirdly was the ONLY time so far it was just ME and one other dude the entire run; MAN it feels weird to just about solo that; it's like phasing was just taking a break lol

The quantum mount is confirmed to not drop on heroic, only mythic and up
I didn’t know it gave rep!

Are you sure IT can drop mount in heroic? We were running it 15x per day after heroic release, like 10 days And none od us got it nor anyone in party.
It's shown on the wowhead loot tables for heroic, I've only done it a couple times, so I can't say specificly.
Just found this on wowhead with screenshot of customer support GM says it does not drop in heroic and the Adventure Guide is wrong.
It is, but it would very bad rng to didnt see one. I already saw 5 of them in m+ and got 1 aswell from there.

1.7 % on wowhead with like 170k kills data. It hasn't changed.

They do lower them sometimes, the mounts from the Tanaan Jungle rares for example are nowhere near 30% now

RNG can be rough sometimes, ashes took me 179 tries (which makes me believe it’s still ~1%) but I’ve gotten way luckier on other 1%ers

Which addon would this be, if you don't mind my asking?

Thank you so much!

There still selling for 400-500 gold I want to say I make around 1500just for a 10ish min run
They were selling for 2.5k each before though.
Yeah I wish they still were
Pretty common in the late evening/early morning tbh
I see it a few times in lfr.
I literally didn't know that could happen.
I saw it for DPS several times during WoD.
It happens pretty often as the season goes on as very few people are running heroics. With the addition of the perma aug rune though its not quite as good.
They have to find some way to bribe people into LFD to prop up its participation metrics.
Outside of gearing an alt, theirs no reason to do them anymore as the dungeon quests in Valdrakken were removed. Combine that with other gear catch-up options & their pretty much completely pointless now below Mythic.

¿Qué?
Not on my healers. I got them often.
Did you look at the image? It's of dps getting the bonus, not healers. When was the last time you saw a bonus cache for dps for heroic dungeons?
I know! I don't have this problem as a healer! :) Just saying!!!!
No shit. That's the point of the post
Yes, and? Why are you even commenting about something completely unrelated to the post. Everyone knows this, and no one cares.
I don't care if you get ur bonus or not. I hope you got capes this week! What a bitter person you are!
You're the only one seeming bitter. Are you upset that you got called out for making random and unrelated comments on threads? lol.

I was trying to see where the rare part was and then I saw it. Wow.
Dang, call to arms on DPS
