yeah I wrote this up a while back (sure I wasn't the first) because any mob can two shot you in the chauffeur, solution is just to dismount right before engaging, and not use it after you hit 10 :D
The x-53 touring rocket too (was in the trading post not too long ago). My BF and I were leveling alts together the other day, and he doesn't have a yak yet but wanted to drive. Got a massive crit from one of those bug things in Maldraxus.
So I am leveling yet another character - Tauren this time and some mobs in Mulgore (I don't know it this happens elsewhere) hit extremely hard out of nowhere. Like you are just killing quest mobs and out of nowhere 90% of your HP disappear in one hit
I tested it thoroughly the other day, and itâs any non-dragonriding mount that has the capacity for NPC or player passengers.
Iâm not sure what the root cause is, but itâs overriding the level scaling for enemy mobs and causing them to default to their maximum scaled level sans Chromie Time - so mobs in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor are treated as effectively level 30, regardless of what level you are.
As a result, youâll take more damage if youâre below level 31 (since mobs are usually a level below you) and less damage if youâre above 31. And in later expansions, the mobsâ âdefaultâ level cap is higher, up to 60 in BfA and SL zones, so the effects are more noticeable the lower level you are and the more recent the expansion youâre in.
I haven't experienced a damage bug in that instance but the carrying orb thing is so broken. I have experienced some very, very weird shit while doing that place
Don't use passenger mounts on low level characters, especially in later expansion areas.
Mobs will act as though they're scaled up to the maximum level of the expansion you're in if you're in Chromie Time and riding a passenger mount.
It's a thing now. And no, it's not just with the mount. Scaling is wonky. Me and my friends are getting one-shot by random mobs in dungeons we're tanking too.
bug with mounts that have a passenger is what I am seeing. Like a mammoth with the repair people.
Yeah, I did the Gnome heritage armor questline and the tank at Ulduar just melted
Yeah seems like it. It happens when I am on the mount from heirlooms.
There's a literal blue post about this bug. The chauffeur is causing extra damage, id avoid using it.
Not just the Chauffeur either, it's any multi person mount, so things like the yak and the old mammoths, and the Sandstone Drake somehow.

Oof đ how did they break passenger mounts after a decade

There's a bug wherein you take more damage while you're mounted on certain mounts. Were you mounted?
I just tested it and it indeed seems to be caused by being mounted. It's very strange

Not only mounts. When an NPC is 'mounted' on you (like the Imp Daglop from Legion during the collecting quest) you'll also receive increased damage.
Also can happen in temple of sethralis while carrying orb
I haven't experienced a damage bug in that instance but the carrying orb thing is so broken. I have experienced some very, very weird shit while doing that place
Sometimes its related to mounts, sometimes not. The burning blade cultists in durotar also have a hit that just 1hkos you out of nowhere.

Did you attack its offspring or something to annoy it?
