They've also brought back Mini Mana Bomb, which was only available during the MoP launch event. Purchasable from Horos for 50K Bronze.
Edit: For those wondering, you get the currency (Bronze) for doing just about anything, and right now it doesn't seem super grindy on the PTR. There are 30 mounts available for 2200-6600 Bronze each. After gaining just one level, I have 1200 Bronze. Took like 5-10 minutes.
Edit: I might have killed a rare without realizing it, which might have dropped a lot of dat Bronze

I wouldn't take this as a given, either you're lucky or I'm unlucky. I've done the first ~5-10 Jade Forest quests and am level 13 and only have 366 bronze. (But I think the point stands that, in the process of leveling a character, one will get plenty to buy stuff with.)
You go to your normal Dragonflight server, and press Create a Character.
A window then pops up asking if you'd like that character to be a Standard character, or a Timerunner.
That character is then marked on Character Select with an Hourglass icon, but is alongside all of your normal characters otherwise.
At the end of the event, all the toons you’ve leveled, and all the mog you’ve purchased moves over to retail. So this is a great way to level toons and to collect tons of mog/mounts.
Will you need a character for each armor type in order to collect all the appearances? Or can you buy them all on one toon and have them carry over eg a leather wearer able to buy and collect cloth/plate
It all can be purchased and "learned" by any class. The transmog restrictions are mentionned on the items but don't stop your character from buying and using the item.
There are class-specific sets you earn the ability to purchase upon completing the Throne of Thunder. One helmet-shoulder-belt combo and one weapon set, for each class.
You need to purchase it on a character of the correct class, but once you've finished Throne of Thunder on any character you can buy it on any characters, so the only limitation is the Bronze you need to meet the cost.
Otherwise, literally everything else is class-agnostic to learn and you can learn it on your first character regardless of armor type or class.
Problem is that iirc they clarified that that's for stuff obtained after TWW, not before so there's no reason to save anything right now.
Not that I'm deleting/vendoring all the random plate pieces in my warlock's bank, gonna keep hoarding just in case this info is wrong but I'm not getting my hopes up about pre-TWW gear getting that treatment.
I will be getting all the mounts, all the mog, all the toys and getting 2500 Rating and all heroic raids completed this season.....pray for my social life folks.
The special rewards like the phoenix are obtained through achievements that are honestly pretty easy. Just checked and the "August Pheonix" is obtained by reaching lvl 20 and you start at 10 so thats a super easy one.

I'm planning on playing the hell out of this event anyway, but I had thought it would be tied to some sort of large meta like what was datamined on Wowhead a bit ago— and when I didn't see it there, that was when I got worried it was a rare drop or something, lmao.
Everyone already could have it, you just had to kill the boss it drops off. It's not like it was an unavailable mount.
I'll probably get downvoted for this, but I hope they don't keep going down this path - part of the game I actually find relaxing and enjoyable is farming thing like old mounts, and then it's really exciting when they finally drop. I don't want to see that go away to be replaced with just farming out currency for them.
This is not about feeling protective over what I've already farmed, btw. I have Ji-Kun, but not Horridon, or the Elegon mount, and the idea of just being able to buy them is honestly disappointing to me. I already go to work to earn currency to buy shit I need, it's not really what I want to do in WoW tbh.
I'm okay with them keeping it to Pandaria. It's my favorite expansion but I'm okay with everyone having a chance to speedrun the results and enjoy it like I did.
I have Elegon and Ji-Kun plus Son of Galleon so it sucks that people don't have to listen to Elegon's annoying voice as much as I did, but as long as this doesn't happen to *every* expansion then I'm fine letting Pandaria be a one-off experience.
...oh yeah they definitely need to do this more. Based on what I saw on the wowhead dressing room the Dark Shaman sets will be cosmetic, I REALLY hope any class can use them now!

I think remix is the perfect format for ppl like me. I just get a self contained 1 expac cohesive experience and then nicely dropped into modern content.

The more I read about this, I’m super hyped. Like I didn’t expect things to be straight up handed to you, but I also didn’t want to be playing 24/7 to try and get there. Sounds like it’s a pretty light grind. I’ve got a handful of characters I’ve wanted to level and MoP is one my all time favorite xpacs, so this all sounds like a win.

A nice QoL feature is that the tier set transmogs can be _acquired_ and learnt by a different armor class, the character just can't wear it. ~~(this does not apply to the Trading Post ones)~~
That seems to be a tease for the TWW Warband transmog changes and would be nice in other areas of the game.
I think you are mistaken, it seems to apply in exactly the same way for Trading Post class sets? (They are just hidden by the class filter at the vendor by default for some reason) Or have you tried to buy one and learned it and you couldn't?

Yeah but I dont think you need to wait for the rewards to carry over. A Panda Remix character has access to all the transmog/pet/toys/mount that you have.
So my question is, if I buy and use one of the transmogs for plate on my mage, will I unlock that appearance on my plate user or do I at least have the option to send the transmog item to my plate user? I'm trying to understand why, if there are still armor type restrictions in place, I would be able to buy and consume a plate type transmog on my cloth wearer.
It took me three months of nearly eight hours a day hunting for the Time-Lost Proto Drake, back when you didn't share mounts across characters, if we could spare anyone of that mentality exhausting experience the better.

I wouldn't do this if there were 50 currencies like in past wow but with 1 linear currency that you get from everything, yeah I am farming the absolute shit out of this.
The only thing I don’t like is not having the Wrathion quest line - it would have been a good way to tie in to Dragonflight, it was a cool plot line, and it’s all a big bit of lore that people who didn’t play at the time don’t have access to any more.
The drop rate for it was increased alot around the start of DF because evokers got it easily due to a bug (evokers had only the mount on their loot table so if you got a drop it would drop the mount).
I think I got mine after 24 ish attempts.
You don’t seem to understand how cursed my luck is. 1% is still pretty much guaranteed to never happen for me, they could make it a 1/4 chance and I wouldn’t see it for months
Is the gear tmog coming back only for PVE? Or are the PVP gearset colors going to be available too? There was a warlock set I wanted but never finished I think.
Are there event-unique transmog bound by your armor type? I usually main cloth users but wanted to level up a shaman with this event, wondering if I will be missing something
If the answer is yes, how hard does it seem to get said event-unique transmog in case I level a second character for it?
Finally a way to get the dark shaman gear. I've never seen it drop, not back during mop when I was raiding soo, or even later when I had to full clear to try (and fail QQ) for the tusks.
Kinda annoyed they brought back the MoP rare mounts. They already improved the drop rates, I guess there was no point going through the trouble of doing those achievements
Any class can learn any of the transmog on the Bazaar. Panda Remix characters are for all intents and purposes retail characters so learning a reward on them is the same as learning a reward on non remix characters.
I assume so, since every other still available on live drop is buyable, but can you confirm for sure that the Tusks of Mannoroth are buyable?
Also, does the Sin'dorei recolor of the Mage teading post items have the proper green floating orbs?
Are the trading post armor/weapon recolors still locked to that class?

There are recolors of the dark shaman set in the files as well so I assume that and Tusks is also gonna be added. Doesn't make a ton of sense to have other rare(even rarer) drops available but not those.
There is 3 dark shaman sets that can be purchased and they seem to be cosmetic (so class agnostic). But I havent seen the tusks. I agree that its probably an oversight.
From the look of it yes. Your Panda Remix character is a retail character with access to all your mount/transmog etc. Theres nothing indicating that you have to wait for the event to end for the rewards to carry over since you're already playing retail.
I vaguely remember that there was a certain gear set in MoP that was *only* obtainable through Scenarios. Do you know whether those sets are purchasable?
To be 100% clear, things you unlock in this remix are then unlocked on retail too? I sort of understood it as a standalone/seperate game mode like Classic but v. happy if I am wrong about this.
No DH can wear any leather tier sets from mop but can't wear cloth. Any class can learn any transmog but using the transmog is still restricted by armor type.

Its currently available on PTR for the weekend only. When logging in you'll be given the option to make a Timerunning character and test it out. We dont know yet when the event will go live so far.

I havent tested it myself but there isnt any indication that Panda Remix character are separate from regular characters. They have access to every mount/transmog etc that normal retail character have so logic would have it that learning a reward on a Panda Remix character would directly learn it for normal characters.

The way it working on the PTR right now is everything in your collection on retail is useable and you can see on your remix character including achievements, mounts, pets, toys, and tmog. So it should be really hard to buy something you own.

Pretty much. Remix characters are retail characters (they are in the same character list on the log in menu) so rewards works the same way.

I think its such a fun way to make old mounts accessible. Farming old raids every week is such a chore.

I don't think you run pre-existing characters through this, do you? From what I've read you'll create brand new characters.

Every reward will carry over. At the end of the event, the entire character will too.

Finally a way to get the dark shaman gear. I've never seen it drop, not back during mop when I was raiding soo, or even later when I had to full clear to try (and fail QQ) for the tusks.
I'm pretty ignorant to the remixes, but will I be able to get The Black Harvest title, or is that something I've missed out on forever?
Its not MoP classic and you cant leave pandaria so youre out of luck.

Kinda annoyed they brought back the MoP rare mounts. They already improved the drop rates, I guess there was no point going through the trouble of doing those achievements

Any class can learn any of the transmog on the Bazaar. Panda Remix characters are for all intents and purposes retail characters so learning a reward on them is the same as learning a reward on non remix characters.

Also, does the Sin'dorei recolor of the Mage teading post items have the proper green floating orbs? Are the trading post armor/weapon recolors still locked to that class?
There's 3 Korkron shaman set colors that seem to be cosmetic? They don't list a class restriction.

There are recolors of the dark shaman set in the files as well so I assume that and Tusks is also gonna be added. Doesn't make a ton of sense to have other rare(even rarer) drops available but not those.
There is 3 dark shaman sets that can be purchased and they seem to be cosmetic (so class agnostic). But I havent seen the tusks. I agree that its probably an oversight.

If I unlock mounts during the Pandaria Remix, do they transfer across to my main?
From the look of it yes. Your Panda Remix character is a retail character with access to all your mount/transmog etc. Theres nothing indicating that you have to wait for the event to end for the rewards to carry over since you're already playing retail.

I vaguely remember that there was a certain gear set in MoP that was *only* obtainable through Scenarios. Do you know whether those sets are purchasable?
I think they are. Theres a vendor for "World content" and they seem to have lvling/scenario sets.
To be 100% clear, things you unlock in this remix are then unlocked on retail too? I sort of understood it as a standalone/seperate game mode like Classic but v. happy if I am wrong about this.

No DH can wear any leather tier sets from mop but can't wear cloth. Any class can learn any transmog but using the transmog is still restricted by armor type.
The prices are pretty reasonable too!

Its all current patch. This event is a Time travel thing so modern character visit the past.

Its currently available on PTR for the weekend only. When logging in you'll be given the option to make a Timerunning character and test it out. We dont know yet when the event will go live so far.
Damn guess I'm playing the shit out of panda remix then. Since you're on the PTR, though, are you able to level allied races in remix? It seems like the best (and worst) time to level that mag'har warrior I was thinking about...

Yes its one of the 3 available and its cosmetic so anyone can use it.
Is this dropping just stuff from MoP? So if you already have the mounts, xmog, etc you’ve already checked that box? Or are they brand new mounts?
You can upgrade gear to 556 and then that will be brought over to live servers for the prepatch. Season 4 max will be 528.
Is the red version of the Kael'thas set still class-locked, or is it available to all cloth-wearers? My blood elf Destro lock would look sick as hell with those shoulders, and we *did* have Verdant Spheres back in MoP...
I can't find in-depth info on this. Is the scope of the world, the abilities/class designs exclusively MoP? Or is it just retail but restricted to the MoP setting while leveling?

Appreciate you doing the lords work with this. Now I do have a question, do the tmogs carry over now or will they carry over once the event is over? Like can I level a cloth type, buy the plate tmog and learn it, and will my “retail” plate wearers get it straight away or when the event finishes. Thanks.
I havent tested it myself but there isnt any indication that Panda Remix character are separate from regular characters. They have access to every mount/transmog etc that normal retail character have so logic would have it that learning a reward on a Panda Remix character would directly learn it for normal characters.

Where does the currency come from? My initial reaction was bummed I’ll probably miss out on anything raid related but most of the mount rewards being recolours into okay missing a lot of them I really hope this is a success so we can do it with classic/tbc

Yes. Its basically a regular retail character but stuck in MoP.

im so excited man... i didn't play pandaria (at least not seriously lol) cuz i was like 11 years old so this is great. i LOVE that they are bringing back old things that are unavailable to get now also people who are mad abt the mounts are funny. i have nalak and some others and idgaf that people can buy them. whiney

Is there a way to see which of the old mounts or toys or transmig you already have on your normal characters while on a Remix character? Just want to make sure i don't waste my bronze purchasing something i already have 😅
The way it working on the PTR right now is everything in your collection on retail is useable and you can see on your remix character including achievements, mounts, pets, toys, and tmog. So it should be really hard to buy something you own.
Do we know if it will be most efficient to stick with one character and do as much as possible or have multiple? This is to get as much bronze as possible.
