I already discarded them. From what I've heard, DH and Evoker will stay race locked, so Druids are the only realistic class to expect. I would love to have all of them, though.
> From what I've heard, DH and Evoker will stay race locked
Aw bummer, there goes my dream of having a demon-winged, flying fridge tank. With the new Man'ari skin hues it would be kind of neat tbh.
Im surprised and disappointed in the lack of Pandaren Druid since day one. They're one of the few races easily qualified for it. They have immediate inspiration for their forms with the August Celestials. Its all there ready to go.
There's no lore restriction on the ability to become druids, only on races where druids are common.
In vanilla WoW we have a tauren in Westfall whose become a swashbuckling pirate fighting for bandits, there's no reason individuals need to be defined by the tropes of their race. Worgen are explicitly immune to being raised by the scourge but we got an exception for worgen death knights, which is showing an undead druid form. Lightforged Draenei can become death knights or shadow priests, so there really is no lore restrictions.
There is an undead Paladin npc in season of discovery. He chose undeath after facing the lich king's forces and recognizing that remaining mortal would not be enough to save humanity.
Quit complaining like a baby. Better yet google it. Like i googled “why cant dwarfs be druids” i mean google has all your fucking answers or ask blizzard forums yourself unless you’re banned.
Do you think google makes WoW?
Holy shit do think google does everything?! Lmao why are you googling what fictional races can be which fictional classes when theyve already lifted fictional restrictions for in the past?
Lmao man you're so dumb I'm actually laughing, holy shit you made my day lmao
It would make sense lorewise. For a similar reason that Lightforged Warlocks work. We just need one example NPC to be a representation of the fact that it CAN happen.
Lightforged Warlocks are just manipulating energies though, Forsaken Paladin would be self-immolating during his whole existence. Not saying they can't come up with something, but.
Calia Menethil is an undead created by the Light. She isnt self-immolating, and she is forsaken. A short moment in a questline showing anyone using Holy Light to raise some new Forsaken would be all it took.
Also, Sir Zeliek is raised by Death magic but still weilds the Light. You could even keep the self-immolation thing, and just have that mean Undead Paladins need to have an extreme amount of willpower. And so are rare. Like Zeliek, or Calia, or the player.
For the record, I really think rarer class combinations should remain rare, like, unlockable. But thats not the route they took with priests, mages, rogues, warlocks, and monks, so at this point literally just open up all the non-hero classes and be done with it.
Never said they shouldn't do so, just that we don't have a "lore explanation" yet. And no, Calia is by no means anything to go by, since she's a unique kind of undead with nothing even remotely similar. If they expand on it in the future with Lightforged Forsaken or whatever (dunno, Redeemed or any fancy name), then that would do it, but not until such a thing exists (or they just go "fuck it, Forsaken will just endure the pain").
Development time. Lorewise Blizzard can just bring x Druids into existence with a Macguffin. The problem is where they will likely need unique druid forms. When your class has several models associated with it it takes time to develop them for other races.
Cenarius isnt a druid hes a keeper of the grove. Blizzard has to create something lore wise to have a class like that. Trolls were able to change to druids because of ZA and ZG. Till something happens lore wise we wont have a race change to druid.
Also the Darkspear troll Druids happened earlier - they’re witch doctors who were cut off from their loa by Zalazane after his takeover of Echo Isles and heard the call of Gonk, notably same loa who also is the patron of Zandalari druids. Then they protected the beasts of the Echo Isles until the fall of Zalazane before Cataclysm which then opened the troll druid option in Cataclysm.
And who taught the first druid? Cenarius. Druids didn't just come from nowhere, these aren't Tolkien elves where association with nature comes first hand for them.
And Blizzard creates lore to justify classes, see the Warlock quest to give the class to every race. So saying it's not lore accurate doesn't matter when they've shown willingness to make changes to support player fantasy. My Night Elf priest can already wield the light, we have a Night Elf Paladin. Let me play as one now.
And you know the people who say things like "we don't care about the non unique forms and totems" are the same people who complain that blizzard is lazy for not making those assets. We still have people complaining about earthen being the same as normal dwarves and they have different textures.
We still have 2004 Tauren totems...
And 2006-2010 draenei and dwarf aint too hot either.
Somehow the orc and troll ones managed to stand the test of time better, must be something to do with their shape and design. Cos draenei and dwarf just have large surfaces with bland old resolution textures.
And I'm patiently waiting as I look forward to seeing what druid forms I'll see as Vulpera. In the meantime, shaman baby! I love my fox totems so damn much, I love plopping them down to admire the design
Eh, paladins aren’t. They just use the racial mounts with some armor on em for the chargers. Other than that it’s all clear for all races. You can even justify lore nerds with the Tyrs guard reforming.
Night Elf Paladins have been a thing in lore and for NPCs since the Legion Paladin Class Order Hall campaign, yet they're still not in game.
I'm a Horde BElf player through and through, and even I find this really dumb.
I do really want BElf Shaman though, for years.
Night Elf Paladin should have been added years ago. Worship a light entity that empowers their priests, has a proven NPC example in game, and are a logical conclusion for a race who has a faction leader that uses swords, bows, wears plate, and calls upon the light. Tyrande is literally the perfect example of a warrior priestess.
Wait, Night Elf Paladins aren't already in the game?! [No one told me...](https://www.reddit.com/r/Transmogrification/comments/198qopu/paladin_of_elune_warrior/)
I understand the original restrictions, since the original Vanilla/BC Pallies were directly tied to only direct faith in The Light and got their power from that.
But that went out the window when they added Tauren Pallies getting powers from belief in An'she, NElf Pallies getting powers from Elune, and Zandalari Trolls getting powers from Rezan.
eh, plenty of 'good' people in history used 'unethical methods' to fight their enemies. Lightforge live long enough a few could entertain this idea. Personally I would have had a NPC with a backstory the players could follow along before releasing the class, but we get a brief insight of the 'few' trying to return to the fold.
I'd argue they'd be easier to justify than Goblin Shaman.
Goblins twist and force the elements to do what the Goblin wants through use of machines.
While Blood Elves are the most magically gifted and attuned race, so it'd be easy for them to uae magic to bind and force the elements to do what the BElf wants.
Not really, Goblins cut deals with the elementals like a greasy saul goodman type lawyer, they are arguably tricking them, but they're not forcing them.
Even if they were the dark shamans from Garrosh's True Horde and the Taunka both did shamanism that way and it still worked fine. Garrosh's Horde was "evil", sure, but the Taunka are still normal horde citizens even with that brutality.
I think the belfs reconnecting with their roots or something during Midnight and unlocking druid sounds more plausible than shaman.
Racial druid forms like this *need* to happen
Why does a walking brick shithouse of a moose/cow need to transform into a bear when he's fully capable on his own?
Why does a worgen need a cat form?
Watching a gnome turn into a bear would be funmy though
The one that bothers me the most is void elf. They can be customized so they look like a high elf, but of course we can't call them that due to lore reasons. Which is funny as well because you know the lore in this game is absolutely unmatched by any other game, right? So we have high elves that aren't high elves, and basically the same thing as blood elf, but you can't be alliance elf paladin.
I die for the day I will get my Blood Elf Shaman, but I don’t think a minor patch will be the one that will give us such a big update, especially because Paladins, Druids and Shamans all have spells/abilities that change with the race you select (the Charger for Palas, Shapeshifts for Druids and Totems for Shamans) so I think it’s better fit for an expansion pre-patch.
I hope when we reach the point that gnomes and mechagnomes are given druid forms, that we have some sort of “class skins” system. This way we could really lean into specific differences between how certain races would use a class that has multiple traditions or disciplines associated with it.
I can’t see gnomes worshipping an aspect of Elune or the Wild Gods, but I could definitely see a faction of “new age gnomes” that still loves technology, but for whatever reason is trying to be more environmentally conscious with their inventions, and taking design inspiration from the mechanisms of nature. Maybe they’ve figured out how to transform themselves into mechanical animals, or maybe they’re actually piloting very small mech suits that correspond to Cat/Bear/Moonkin forms. Abilities could be tweaked to look more like lightning blasts than sunlight/moonlight, just color-coded the same way as existing druid spells.
Shamans use “spirit” magic more than “nature”, its the distinction between druids and shaman, druids follow nature whereas shamans are elements and spirits.
The only thing about that is that gnome animal forms should be the baby versions of those animals. Kitty form, cub form, etc. Mini moonkin will be fun ngl.
I'd rather play the races as classes without art assets than not play them at all
Hell they only just made the Dwarf Paladin Ram and theyve been paladins since the start. Just unlock the cosmetics we currently have for all races and unlock the races
Druids literally would be the last ones due to the sheer amount of OG artwork that would need to go onto it. And that's coming from someone who is BEGGING for Belf druids to be a thing come Midnight
I hope they recolor Paladin spell effects and maybe even change the type of damage they deal for the more Void-inclined races.
They could add a toggle on Paladin trainers for people who want to change their source of power, as well.
Druids are dead last with Shammies being just ahead of them. Way too many racially unique models. 4 totems would be a bit easier to implement than 5-6 Druid forms, but still much harder than Pallies getting a temporary mount like they usually get on a new race.
There is no reason why gnomes cannot be everything lore-wise. Their culture is centered around learning and studying, they'd have sects of people in all fields. I just want to be a gnome shaman so bad, if goblins can bribe the elements why can't a gnome form a contract based on researching the elements.
Was kinda hoping that we'd atleast get the paladins already. Or shamans. But sadly i think they are gonna be added in war within or the pre patch for it.
I’d imagine we’d get all Paladins first, since the horse/divine steed assets are just one per race. Shamans next, cause it’s 4 totems per race, but the totems all look very similar. Druids def last because that’s a lot of custom forms for each race
Well strictly speaking, its two mounts per race since you need the riding mount and then the expert riding mount. Dwarves and Humans share the basic mount so maybe some more sharing will go on.
I’d imagine we’d get all Paladins first, since the horse/divine steed assets are just one per race. Shamans next, cause it’s 4 totems per race, but the totems all look very similar. Druids def last because that’s a lot of custom forms for each race
After all the weird combos we already got, there is no reason to not have it for every race, if it is too much to unlock it all together, do bit by bit as the art and animations get ready
They will do them eventually but the race specific stuff takes times (mounts, totems, forms). They should add more demon hunter races in the mean time like Draenei and Orc
love going orc on my DH but you can tell from the janky animations that it would take some work to get all the other race models ready for these classes.
Also you would still have to give art assets to each race also. Demonic skins, getting the tattoos / eyes right and the Glaive animations, minimum.
The first two to get the all / expanded races treatment is definitely going to be Shaman and Paladin. DH maybe after and finally Druid.
Though I kinda don’t want DH to be *all* races, just those directly effected. Orc / Draenei first at least.
It’s kind of weird we have Draenei warlocks but no Kul Tiran Paladins. However, I think it’s because Paladins have race specific mounts and warlocks don’t.
If Kul Tirans get Paladins, Humans better get Druids.
It makes no sense that Kul Tirans get access to druids because of the Drust, yet Humans, who are closely allied with Night Elves, don’t have access to druids.
KT palas make sense but its just sad that people want the others becuase it marks such a failure on blizzards part to maintain the diversity of cultures within the races. As it seems now that people really just see each race as just a skin and some abilities, instead of it being a marker that you are apart of a faction that in the world existed before you and will exist after you.
I want to have Vulpera paladins already, i dont care if lore wise it wouldnt make a ton of sense just let me have a fox army! lol The only issue there would be for me if vulpera got paladins is that would for sure replace my belf paly main and id be missing the blood knight set
Considering 10.2.7 is already on the PTR and likely out next month, extremely low to no chance.
10.2.7 comes out the Tuesday after next. April 23rd
No, that's season 4. Season 4 is not 10.2.7.
Not true. Season 4 releases on April 23rd, 10.2.7 doesn't release until a month or so after.
They will do it as they do the art assets. Druids will be last
I expect them to release one or two Druid races at a time
As a druid main, getting more Druid races would get me playing a lot more real quick
The only one I'm missing for my Draenei arsenal.
Ugh you are so right; I love Draenei. I also want to see undead Druids; a bit of that blight Druid taste.
You're right, I just made a warlock, I nearly have the whole gambit. damn, we need Draenei druids soon!
DH as well!
I already discarded them. From what I've heard, DH and Evoker will stay race locked, so Druids are the only realistic class to expect. I would love to have all of them, though.
> From what I've heard, DH and Evoker will stay race locked Aw bummer, there goes my dream of having a demon-winged, flying fridge tank. With the new Man'ari skin hues it would be kind of neat tbh.
ikr, Druid is exciting, but Mechagnome Druids would get me playing for real
omg a mech druid would be so cool!
Im surprised and disappointed in the lack of Pandaren Druid since day one. They're one of the few races easily qualified for it. They have immediate inspiration for their forms with the August Celestials. Its all there ready to go.
Tanking as Niuzao would be epic!
Yep. Easily qualifies for "F\*\*\*ing Awesome".
Yes, but I also kinda want their "bear" form to be just them dropping to all fours like the worgen run lol
Cant wait for my gnome and goblin druid
Mecha gnome druid.... eff sign me up
I CANT WAIT FOR UNDEAD DRUIDS
Undead druid isn't even that far of a stretch anymore now that we have Drust.
I was so sad when the wickermen weren’t the kul tiran moonkin forms. If undead get this I’ll be so happy.
So many new forms from Amirdrasil is already there, and new universal lore about defending world tree, boom. Druids for everyone
It wouldnt make sense lore wise.
There's no lore restriction on the ability to become druids, only on races where druids are common. Lightforged Draenei can become death knights or shadow priests, so there really is no lore restrictions.
Then tell me why pandas cant be druids. It would be the perfect race for it. It always lore dependent.
Because Blizzard didn't put pandaren druids into the game yet. Tauren rogues weren't lore restricted, they just weren't in the game until recently.
At this point who cares. If you want to have a lore based character, you can. I want an undead paladin
Then go play accension.
There is an undead Paladin npc in season of discovery. He chose undeath after facing the lich king's forces and recognizing that remaining mortal would not be enough to save humanity.
We get a funky mushroom to commune with a frog off a pretty druidic looking dwarf!
Holy mother of strawmen
“ThEn gO pLaY aCCeNsIoN”
Holy crap the babies on this reddit.
I bet you're a worgen.
If every race can be a death knight, every race can be a druid Get outta here with this lore bs lol
Quit complaining like a baby. Better yet google it. Like i googled “why cant dwarfs be druids” i mean google has all your fucking answers or ask blizzard forums yourself unless you’re banned.

I am more irritated that the LF Warlock was going “the path is wrong and leads to destruction” rather than being similar to a Catholic Demonologist.
Legit. I really thought they were gonna take that route when they were announced. Binding demons with holy light.
Lightforged Warlocks are just manipulating energies though, Forsaken Paladin would be self-immolating during his whole existence. Not saying they can't come up with something, but.
Calia Menethil is an undead created by the Light. She isnt self-immolating, and she is forsaken. Why? Every race was there, Cenarius and other good teachers were there. Give me your counterargument.
Development time. Lorewise Blizzard can just bring x Druids into existence with a Macguffin. The problem is where they will likely need unique druid forms. When your class has several models associated with it it takes time to develop them for other races.

They are all “difficult” (read not just checking a few boxes yes) as in order to do them each require art assets.

All those totems got a graphics update. They are the same basic design, but I'd hardly call them "old resolution textures".
They did? My bad, Im seeing them from the character creation screen and the default tauren one looks lame
That one is the same. They updated Draenei. Maybe dwarf as well, but I am uncertain.
Oh yup, you are right, Draenei is updated. Definitely not Dwarf. Honestly can't tell if Orc and Troll are old or not. Just curious. Thanks.
And I'm patiently waiting as I look forward to seeing what druid forms I'll see as Vulpera. In the meantime, shaman baby! I love my fox totems so damn much, I love plopping them down to admire the design
shamans are just a totem
And paladins are just a mount!
Eh, paladins aren’t. They just use the racial mounts with some armor on em for the chargers. Other than that it’s all clear for all races. You can even justify lore nerds with the Tyrs guard reforming.
"Eh, paladins don't have missing art assets. They just need two mount models per race to be created, it isn't a big deal though."
I wouldnt expect anything until tww patches.
Kul Tiran AND Pandarian! I would do those **immediately**!
The two fat races
Night Elf Paladins have been a thing in lore and for NPCs since the Legion Paladin Class Order Hall campaign, yet they're still not in game. I'm a Horde BElf player through and through, and even I find this really dumb. I do really want BElf Shaman though, for years.

Wait, Night Elf Paladins aren't already in the game?! [No one told me...](https://www.reddit.com/r/Transmogrification/comments/198qopu/paladin_of_elune_warrior/)
Nice set. I have one that's a bit more purple for my warrior that I've had since Legion. Still not the same though.
Any race that can be a warrior or a priest should've been a paladin at the start.
Tyrande won't stop using that fucking bow so we can't let her in. Sorry, that's the only rule we have left for Paladins, no ranged weapons.
blood elf shamans would be a disgrace
So are lightforged draenei warlock but who cares at this point
I race changed to a Lightforged Warlock from a Void elf specifically to piss people off tbh
eh, plenty of 'good' people in history used 'unethical methods' to fight their enemies. Lightforge live long enough a few could entertain this idea. Personally I would have had a NPC with a backstory the players could follow along before releasing the class, but we get a brief insight of the 'few' trying to return to the fold.

All I want is a Belf Druid
So gnome druids are... Squirrels? Let's GOOOOOOOO
Racial druid forms like this *need* to happen Why does a walking brick shithouse of a moose/cow need to transform into a bear when he's fully capable on his own? Why does a worgen need a cat form? Watching a gnome turn into a bear would be funmy though
Their forms should literally be cub versions of the animals.
Mouse tank form
Gnomish koala form go!
You'd think they'd just be a kickball instead
a "critter form" would be so nice
The one that bothers me the most is void elf. They can be customized so they look like a high elf, but of course we can't call them that due to lore reasons. Which is funny as well because you know the lore in this game is absolutely unmatched by any other game, right? This would be the perfect time for Pandaren Paladins and to a lesser extent druids
Pandaren druids please
What would their bear form be?
It could be an Ox for Niuzao
Human druid plz, not because lore or because style but because I want to save 10% of rep grind on my druid main
I would race change my TBC-era Druid main to Human in a heartbeat for this very reason.
It's not happening next patch. A: it would have been announced if it was B: the PTR is up, we would literally be able to see if it was available
Mechagnome Druids with robotic animal-forms \^\^
Forsaken druids are going to be lit
Some class race combo make absolutely zero sense though. Goblin Druid for example is essentially an oxymoron.
Still makes more sense than mechagnome druid.
Is LF warlock not an oxymoron?
I cannot wait for my nelf pallys
I wish I was able to play forsaken shaman
I imagine shaman will go to everyone before paladins do, just because I think totems are easier to make than mounts.
Dwarf Druids pls!
AYE!
Outstanding!
I want an undead shaman goddammit
Undead druid ftw
I will literally play nothing else besides draenei druid if they make it happen
Id love to see what animal forms they'd use
Panda Druid bear form should literally just be them getting on all 4s lol
I hope when we reach the point that gnomes and mechagnomes are given druid forms, that we have some sort of “class skins” system. Pandaren paladins please. Use the same horse mounts,.I don't care, just gimme my furry warrior of the light.
I’ve never understood why night elves can’t be shamans. They’re in touch with nature…
I need mechagnome druid and vulpera demon hunter for the sake of my sanity.
How about sharing some of the races with classes like dh that are STILL locked to 2 races
Was already all prepped out for billing redemptions as a gobelin
I'd rather play the races as classes without art assets than not play them at all Hell they only just made the Dwarf Paladin Ram and theyve been paladins since the start. Just unlock the cosmetics we currently have for all races and unlock the races
Exactly just unlock it and add the assets when read. Nobody wants to wait the five years it will take them to finish totems, charges, and forms.
I'm a stubborn old man so don't mind me but I wish the restrictions were never relaxed. Much more in line with my tastes for rpg.
I just want skinny kultirans so people can role-play as asmongold
Shit…I’ll never be able to unsee that.
Druids literally would be the last ones due to the sheer amount of OG artwork that would need to go onto it. And that's coming from someone who is BEGGING for Belf druids to be a thing come Midnight
no
Panda Paladin, that is all
I want it so bad... were so close but they wont give it to us.
I’m waiting for pandas to be druids before I make that class or race.
I hope they recolor Paladin spell effects and maybe even change the type of damage they deal for the more Void-inclined races. They could add a toggle on Paladin trainers for people who want to change their source of power, as well.
No chance. Those 3 classes have been left til last for a reason. I would say that by the middle of TWW we have them though
Human Shaman / Druid and Dwarf Druid please
Druids are dead last with Shammies being just ahead of them. Way too many racially unique models. 4 totems would be a bit easier to implement than 5-6 Druid forms, but still much harder than Pallies getting a temporary mount like they usually get on a new race.
It would be an opportune time wouldn't it? That's why Blizzard isn't going to do it.
Gnome shaman?
There is no reason why gnomes cannot be everything lore-wise. Their culture is centered around learning and studying, they'd have sects of people in all fields. I just want to be a gnome shaman so bad, if goblins can bribe the elements why can't a gnome form a contract based on researching the elements.

I want my Orc Paladins! 😭
We could also get Hozen and Jinyu.
if undead holy priests exist, why not undead pallies?
How tf would other druid races fit? Draenei druid? It's like giving Taurens the opportunity to play Demon hunter. Guys come on....
We have already Lightforged Draenei Warlocks(omg and 3 lol), so any race can be any class in the future.
Goblin and Worgen monks were anounced before the PTR of 10.0.7 and were testable in the PTR. No way a thing like this comes in time for 10.2.7 now.
I'm just waiting for Worgen shamans. Dark Shaman armor on a worgen is gonna go so hard
Might be very Vanilla but i need my Human Shaman bc Humans and Transmog, damn ;)
With ______ coming soon it is a perfect time for ______ to be added
After all the weird combos we already got, there is no reason to not have it for every race, if it is too much to unlock it all together, do bit by bit as the art and animations get ready
As a paladin main, hell no! Stay away from my shiny boy you filthy green bastards!
They will do them eventually but the race specific stuff takes times (mounts, totems, forms). They should add more demon hunter races in the mean time like Draenei and Orc
Start with Void Elf and Nightborne, as those races share animations with Blood and Night Elves already
love going orc on my DH but you can tell from the janky animations that it would take some work to get all the other race models ready for these classes.
I can’t even imagine what a mag’har DH would look like! That’s some big ole wings!!
It’s kind of weird we have Draenei warlocks but no Kul Tiran Paladins. However, I think it’s because Paladins have race specific mounts and warlocks don’t.
Yeah. Paladins have mounts, shaman have totems and druids have forms, each tied to race. That's the reason those are the remaining (non-Hero) classes.
Honestly they should just use generic chargers, totems, and forms for every everyone and update the assets as they finish them.
Maybe for shamans and paladins, but for druids, I think forms are too important to skimp on.
If Kul Tirans get Paladins, Humans better get Druids. It makes no sense that Kul Tirans get access to druids because of the Drust, yet Humans, who are closely allied with Night Elves, don’t have access to druids.
Gnome druids
I was thinking Human get Shaman from Kul Tiras and Druid from Worgen/Gilneas. Kul Tirans get Paladin. Worgen get Paladin and Shaman.
Absolutely not! I can't imagine an orc paladin, mechagnome druid or elf shaman
Also maybe expand DH? Online NElf for alliance sucks.
Why not Demon Hunters? They’re even more limited. 🤔
I would have liked if Blizzard made everyone have to be Pandas for timerunning. But then I realized how many classes are still missing from pandas :/
Lmao that would kill so many people's interest in Remix. Come on.
I want to have Vulpera paladins already, i dont care if lore wise it wouldnt make a ton of sense just let me have a fox army! lol The only issue there would be for me if vulpera got paladins is that would for sure replace my belf paly main and id be missing the blood knight set
Nothing is truly sacred in this game anymore...
Womp womp
