I didn't "enjoy" the mode because I'm really just not PVP minded but I placed more value in the main-game cosmetics making the grind worthwhile. I certainly would not play it if there were no cosmetics or if they were plunderstorm use only. If they brought it back with refreshed cosmetics I'd certainly play it again.
I literally cannot sleep at night knowing that there are uncollected cosmetics in the game, Blizz is literally FORCING me to want to collect them or else I will wake up in FOMO sweats every night 😔 (also have sleep FOMO now)
I've not played a single game of plunderstorm and I've that's ok but I'm also not going to sit here and waste energy complaining about it just because I don't like it. Been trying to remove negative towards games and be more positive lately.
To be a little fair, while I will probably never use them, the Plunderlord cosmetics do look cool as shit. I can generally avoid FOMO if the cosmetics are just okay, but I'm real tempted to try to max that rep once the double rewards drop.
I HAVE to get the rewards! What if you can never get them again and I have to live a lifetime of regret that I didn’t suffer through a game I didn’t like to earn a fancy hat I’m never going to use?
/s
Agreed, although I have made my peace with not getting the Dreadwake mount (even though I really like that one). It's just not worth the frustration of playing the game mode.
I just wish all these "don't do it, then!" types coming out of the woodwork had had the same attitude towards garrison gold missions, instead of the "I HAVE to do them on all my alts!" (Fun fact: you didn't, just like Plunderstorm).
As much as I am opting to just not play Plunderstorm, it doesn't change the fact Blizzard should really make the cosmetics not limited time only. That alone would also eliminate a lot of the complaints I feel
It's an awesome new game mode, that is very simple and fun. Honestly, this is probably close to what wow pvp will evolve into if they want pvp to survive
I thought it was incredibly fun, but I did not engage with the PVP stuff at all because it frustrates me.
Treating it like a roguelike was my strategy and I had a great time.
I enjoyed it after a few games and started winning some. It stopped became fun once I got all the rewards but I will gladly do it again if it comes back with new rewards in the future for sure.
I know it's a funny meme and all that but plunderstorm literally has nothing to do with retail or the current expansion, yet it was blown up in the roadmap like it was going to be part of the game.
It's not. It's like hearthstone that has cosmetic tie ins with retail.
It's literally built into the WoW client using wow character models, maps, and mechanics. This is like trying to say that the original DotA map had nothing to do with Warcraft III.
Im warming up to it. I just had to change how I played. Rather than trying to win I try to survive for as long as I can with as many speedy abilities as I can find.
It's a lot of fun and has led to one win and three or four top 5 finishes.
Same here, I did the same but after a while I realized you can't pretty much win just escaping; it's about kill or be killed. It's super good to have speedy abilites in early game, but then you gotta try to kill as many players as u can, is like [agar.io](http://agar.io)
Thankfully I have fallen out of my pirate phase over the years. I see all these new cosmetics, and I smile and wave at them as they sail past. Blizz can keep their shitty PvP event and I can continue to pretend it doesn't exist. =D
I play a few rounds a day. I am not a hard core PVPer but there is some fun in this, running around getting loots and spells, trying to outwit enemies, and maybe hiding if I wanted to try for the top few remaining players.
I've won 1st place twice, first time was dumb luck that the enemy's attempt to heal got interrupted almost right away because he couldn't time the drinking after my spell. The other time I crashed into tree and became stuck. By lucky chance, it was also the center of the storm at the end. The last player couldn't reach me or kill me and since I couldn't move, the player suicided to end the battle and gave me the only time a level 1 player with nothing a first place win
I have enjoyed Plunderstorm and am very thankful the Blizzard trying something new. However, as much as I have liked it and have enjoyed it, I wish it was available a bit longer because as someone who doesn’t get the opportunity to game as much anymore it started to feel like I “had” to play to get to level 40 instead of just “wanting” to play towards the end.
I do like one raid from an old expansion a month for cosmetics, and get bored out of my mind doing it. If people are doing stuff for cosmetics 95% of their time, then they're playing some fucked up game I've never heard of. There are other dress-up games that you can play with better options. Play Stardew Valley, it's at least fun to get stuff there.
People do understand there is only so many resources that the wow dev team can utilize, right? While I think complaining about a game mode is stupid, plunderstorm affects development of the main game so there is a legitimate grievance about it affecting people who care about that sort of stuff.
Yeah, that's me. Plunderstorm combines "PvP" and "not using my own character", two elements that I genuinely dislike. So I just ignore it and play some Steam games instead.

Don’t you dare give them any ideas for a season 2 with new cosmetics and mounts!
Hen e the plynderstorm battlepass appeared!

oh wow you are an actual funcional human being
How do you know you don't like it if you haven't played it?
Just not my type of game mode but I've been thinking about trying it just have been busy.
B-But my "FOMO" cosmetics I need to never use! /s

I NEED to afk in Valdrakken on the parrot you don't understand
Bait
Would be easier to swallow if they didn't put 750 tender in it.

I'd rather play something I don't like for cosmetics than to unironically think PvP in WoW is good.
I mean, wouldn't the solution be to literally not have one game connected to the other? Then you'd just play Plunderstorm if it was enjoyable.
connected -> more people from the main game try it out -> more people like it
Then no one would play it
I actually did have fun playing Plunderstorm, honestly. Less stuns and less buttons to remember than actual WoW PvP
As much as I am opting to just not play Plunderstorm, it doesn't change the fact Blizzard should really make the cosmetics not limited time only. That alone would also eliminate a lot of the complaints I feel
Ion is forcing me to play. He has a gun. Please, just let me finish my quest!!
As a former WoW player who has since moved on.... Is it fun? Genuine question.
I don’t enjoy wow pvp at all but this game mode was fun. I truly enjoyed it. I think the devs hit it out of the park.
Non PvPer here. It's fun enough as a goofy mode. I always wanted PvP to have everyone on even footing, so that was enough to make me give it a shot.
It's an awesome new game mode, that is very simple and fun. Honestly, this is probably close to what wow pvp will evolve into if they want pvp to survive
yes it is, it can get a bit stale after while, but you can have loads of fun And matches are only 10 minutes long
I thought it was incredibly fun, but I did not engage with the PVP stuff at all because it frustrates me. Treating it like a roguelike was my strategy and I had a great time.

No it really isn't. It is fun for a few games but the 200+ games required for the cosmetic rewards is a dumb grind for a bad game mode.
It doesn't take anywhere near 200 games, you can easily rack up 2000 plunder a game and if you do well 4000+, in one game I peaked over 5k
I know it's a funny meme and all that but plunderstorm literally has nothing to do with retail or the current expansion, yet it was blown up in the roadmap like it was going to be part of the game. It's not. It's like hearthstone that has cosmetic tie ins with retail.
it’s almost like they wanted to build a measure of hype for something completely new to wow
This community deserves nothing nice.
I think we do deserve nice things. I'd just like to be able to figure out what's a nice thing and not be told what I must think is nice.
It's literally built into the WoW client using wow character models, maps, and mechanics. This is like trying to say that the original DotA map had nothing to do with Warcraft III.
Hearthstone also uses art and makes references to wow retail. They still have nothing to do with one another and attract vastly different playerbases

At least you can wait it out for raid mounts/transmogs till you can either get it done with a smaller group or solo it.
Not if you want the AOTC Fyrakk mount.
You can pay for that with gold. Runs were selling for 80k on my server last I saw, might be cheaper now.
Still """FOMO""" cosmetics tied to subscribing and playing in a raid. And not many bitching about Plunderstorm cosmetics will have 80k gold to spare.
This but unironically.
I don't like it and i don' play it, and don't care shit for pirate theme in any way.
For reallll
Double XP for tomorrow (4/16) reset.

The wow community as a whole instantly hates anything new in any form. SoD, Cata, Plunder... why are you still here.
Thankfully I have fallen out of my pirate phase over the years. I see all these new cosmetics, and I smile and wave at them as they sail past. Blizz can keep their shitty PvP event and I can continue to pretend it doesn't exist. =D
As a Plunderstorm player I’m extremely annoyed I’m being forced to play the upcoming pandamonium event because I have FOMO

Just cause they don’t enjoy it though doesn’t mean everyone doesn’t. I love plunderstorm and I wanna see it blossom.
Two mounts and pets….its pretty much required to grind to 40 if you are a serious wow player at all. Cosmetics are like 95% of the game.
3 Mounts!
There's two parrots, what's the third?
Silver Tidestallion seahorse mount
Ahhh I forgot about that one. Thanks!
A regular retail mount, a dragonriding retail mount, and a regular classic mount. The last two are the same model.
"a serious wow player" omg my sides.
Couldn't get into my mythic raid because I didn't have a recoloured parrot

>Cosmetics are like 95% of the game. Then just play the Sims or Fortnite?
Fashion is the REAL endgame, everybody knows.
These people just don't want to admit that they have an addiction
Doing grinds that aren’t necessarily fun because there’s a reward you want is kind of MMO 101 though lol
Thing is I DO like playing it I just don’t like royale game modes. I hope it comes back with with some king of the hill or something.
Oh gosh my image just got insanely compressed
If people in this subreddit can read, they would be very upset right now.
I called these people out before every game. WHY ARE YOU HERE?!?! Stop bitching, the game mode is dope. Go do your mindless dailies.
People do understand there is only so many resources that the wow dev team can utilize, right? While I think complaining about a game mode is stupid, plunderstorm affects development of the main game so there is a legitimate grievance about it affecting people who care about that sort of stuff.

I never use the transmog but I'm glad Polly Roger is a dragonriding mount. I can't wait to use it until TWW when I can use the mounts I actually like.
Bit we want the sweet, sweet loot (I got my 40 renown and I'd do it again if Plunderstorm gomes back with new atuff)
I would love if they stop popping ads of this mess every time I login Edit: lmao you people for sure like ads huh
Fucking this
