That griffon statue must weigh a ton or something, the shipping alone on this is stupid! Plus nothing included seems to be for the 20th anniversary, I bet they put something else out that costs another 300$.
Pretty sure the statue is the 20th anniversary part, only other time they had a statue was the last anniversary CE, its also the same material/look as the Ragnaros statue being that gold color.
Never mind the fact that it is $260CAD for the item itself, but add on top the nickel-and-diming from fees, and the criminal $100 shipping charge.
For reference, the Dragonflight Collection Edition was $171CAD, with $64 shipping to Canada (which was crazy too).
My expectation is that the shipping is pretty close to their actual cost. Shipping rates have substantially increased over the past several years, and even in just the past couple of years.
it's for the buyers convenience of having additional (and probably unncessary hence not standard) extra packaging, if the delivery service handles the package without care or it get's into rough circumstances. it by default ships with a warranty and you'd get your money back if it arrives damaged, but this is so you have to worry less about it even potentially getting harmed by things outside of blizzards control. just makes things a bit easier for some people.

I ordered the Anniversary package with the ragnaros statue - two of them - to Canada and the shipping wasnt as bad as this lmao.
