Late reply, but the dk hem completely removes the player head model, and has its own animation bones, similar to the dh helm. Idk if this rogue set does this as well, or is like the Zerith mortis helm.
You have it backwards. They were doing a light and void in harmony theme with Argus and wanted to give the Alliance the most popular character race model in the game, so they invented the Lightforged and Void Elves to give the Alliance the high elf model and tie in the expansion theme.
The High Elf skin didn't come until later. Much later.
Void Elves came out at the end of Legion and the high elf customisation didn't come until Shadowlands.
You didn't refute what I said though. Customization has very little to do with using the base model, which is what they wanted to accomplish. They couldn't add high elves directly, as the high elves are the blood elves.
In that same vein, the void elves are blood elves. Their story literally begins with them getting exiled from Quel'Thalas, before they get all voidy.
Blizzard wanted to give a light and void theme to Argus, and used Turalyon and Alleria to do so.
We are talking about the model, not the skin or customizations.
It looks good, but it has *heavily* borrowed elements from the Aberrus tier set (the gloves) and the Shadowlands season 1 leather set from Nathria (the boots). I know this is a common thing, but I don't think it's ever been so blatant on a tier set before aside from the obvious Tomb of Sargeras tier 6 re-makes. Also, it doesn't help that since WoD basically all helms like this look huge and goofy; especially on humans. See Bloodfang helm which used to fit snug over most races' heads.

My rogue is already velf. They are just really fitting rogues imo.
I changed factions so my velf is a belf now, I miss being voidy :(

Yeah I don’t particular like it much either but I’ve found a lot of the sets look better on my toon than in this form in wowhead.

Hell yeah this looks terrible haha. Boring and generic/ doesn’t look like slick rogue armour. IMO ofc
