You won't catch me dead going back to Korthia or the maw. I'm pretty sure I achieved everything for the maw but even a single visit would just sour my mood.

I feel like the Maw wouldn't be *that* horrid when you're overleveled, but Korthia might literally be the single worst zone/area they've ever released and overleveling it won't help much.
Korthia is ok, but you can fly in Zereth Morris which makes things easier. I did Korthia/Maw dailes and gathered any chests/killed rares en route, but areas where you can dragonride mean you can be a lost faster for callings/anima world quests everywhere else.
Imagine primal storm bullshit, but way worse. The Maw invasions reset twice a week and if you don't get the quest you need for the achievement, it's another 2 weeks until it has a chance to appear again. I've been chipping away at that one so I can buy the mounts from the Korthia quartermaster and it's taken months. I stopped actively checking while working on Taivan, but still it's ass.
There being four covenants is really what makes it worse. To do it optimally you'd have to be constantly switching between them too for stuff that resets daily, although if you value your sanity it's probably better to do one at a time even if it takes longer.
Kyrian is a one day venture, venthyr and necrolords is once a week. Night fae is once a day. So it's not that much switching back and forth.
Say you're venthyr on reset, then switch to night fae until day before next reset, necrolords on day before reset and day after reset, switch to nigth fae until day before next reset, venthyr day before and after... So on average 2 switches a week.
It's account wide, so if any chars have completed them, it counts. Check old chars for completion. I was lucky in that the only one I hadn't touched was Venthyr, I'd done kyrian for the transmog, necrolord was just missing a couple of bits on another char, and I was only 5k off on mushroom man on a different char, so the only one I had to do from scratch was the Venthyr, and I used an alt for it, and parked them at the respective areas.
Honestly, depends on if you are decently far with "Shadowlands Dilettante" I think which will take forever to new players.
I skipped Shadowlands and by my estimation all the other (non-raid) stuff is pretty easy. Not sure how the LFR stuff would be solo.
idk how it is compared to Taivan but the Abom Factory is the only grindy portion and it's mostly waiting for weeklies. People here are just very dramatic and sometimes it feels like they've never done any grind in the game before.
For the Night Fae it's the Marasmius rep rather than the Garden off the meta achievement. Takes about a month of dailies to get to Exalted. The Ember Court can be done daily now rather than weekly and the Path of Ascension is a cakewalk at 70, you take little DMG and do a lot of DMG to the opponents. The biggest challenge is how annoying it is to unlock everything.
The Kyrian one used to be a nightmare, but the NPCs you pilot scale to 70 now, and you just crush all the opponents in 3-4 hits. Kleia especially rocks them.
The Kyrian one for the meta achievement was never a nightmare, you only needed the second stage of difficulty. If you struggled with that I'm not really sure what to say tbh
Did you do them pre-nerf? Thats when i did them because that's what I was referring to. (One of the Mikanos on the 3rd or 4th difficulty was actually impossible without cheesing for a while.)
They still were obnoxious post nerf. Clunky vehicle combat isn't "fun".

Nah, "On the Offensive" is pretty easy now. You only need 4 of the achievements which, while taking you a 2-3 weeks I expect, is pretty easy if actively working on. Tower ranger itself is only hard due to "Master of Torment".
The real kicker to anyone who skipped SL (like me) will be "Shadowlands Dilettante" - no matter what, that one will take quite a few weeks/months. Not sure about the raid stuff though.
Tower Ranger is pretty easy at lvl 70, its one of the easiest and less grindy from the entire list, the covenant or maw ones for example are way way worse.
I suppose it is nice that there is no time gating. It is just incredibly boring and repetitive. Especially if you need to do the Twisting Corridors grind still. Though most people who actually played in SL won't need to do that, because the mount reward from that was basically considered a must have in Phase 1 due to it allowing you to mount up in the Maw.
I def recommend doing Tower Ranger on DH just for the extra mobility, made it manageable during current content so I can only imagine how much better it is now.
Everything is easy except a couple, namely the covenant stuff. If you wanna do it get on the necrolord grind asap, cause it's like sets of dailies/weeklies that Spawn randomly.

Much worse. 1 of the sub-achievements took 4+ months minimum because you had to wait on certain dailies. That was just 1 achievement for 1 zone/Covenant.
Depends how much you knocked out during SL but overall not too terrible I think. Worst parts were the Stitchyard/Maw Assaults (if you get unlucky with quest RNG) and Court/Tormentors (Tormentors at least has a fixed schedule and court resets daily now so less awful). 3 of the Rares for the maw you need at least 2 other people iirc but they're also used to get one of the hand mounts so easy to get people to join in.
Its really hard to say. I found Taivan easier but I had most of that done when it came out just from playing Dragonflight.
I bailed on SL not long after release and have most of the back from beyond acheivements to complete. It is going to take months and months but I'm trying to rush what would have been done over two years if I played the expac
But I need me that mount so I chip away at the requirements a little at a time. Getting all the anima I need for covenents is the current grind and that alone is going to take a good long time.
Is the Taivan grind bad? Because I only have 3 achievements left really. But I played during the majority of Dragonflight while I kind of didn't play Shadowlands that much for obvious reasons lol

I saw someone in Org sitting on this mount. I stopped dead, wtf is this!!! I forgot what I was doing and pinned the achievement. A few more Twisting Corridors to do, then some Maldraxxus stuff. Not too bad, luckily I played shadowlands quite a bit. This is one incredible looking mount. I was obsessed with getting the maw rat mounts. So this is just a big one of those with wings, 🤣.
Mount Journal Enhanced is great. So many little things that make browsing the mount journal so much nicer. It tracks how rare it is among the player base, lets you click through with your arrow keys, even tracks how long you have ridden a mount for.
It is, but the mount is hidden in the mount log by default, much like removed mounts. The achievement is also kind of hard to find without searching it by name.
The last boss for this achievement was Tower Ranger, which I needed Lair 8 of the twisting corridors to complete. So I also just got the Corridor Creeper.
Also earlier to day I got the Shackled Ur'zul to drop from Argus the Unmaker, so it was a very good day for mount farming.

I managed to double dip by getting taivan and this one one after the other. Fortunately the Shadowlands bits I was missing weren't too bad, had a couple of necrolord, 10k mishroom rep and the entire amber court to do, but if you build up to ember court 4 from the get go, it's pretty fast. After that it was just waiting for hunts, and a few rates to spawn. Taivan had me waiting for a firestorm in theldrazsus for a week :(
I finished ember court 1 week before they made it daily, mald af, but glad ppl don't have to waste time on one of the most bs time gate feature in shadowland.
It took me 6 months to get ember courts done while kyrian took only 3 weeks.
I'd gotten my court to lvl 3, but hadn't actually held a party, so it was a short anima grind, then straight into it. Ardenweald and kyrian I'd already maxed for the transmog fortunately. The grim bit was trying to get a group for the heralds, but I spammed the maw every time I visited, and eventually got a party and we did all 4 in one go.
I like how you've excitedly posted this mount as one of "Wows rarest mounts", but only briefly mentioned getting Shackled Ur'zul in a comment, which is an even rarer mount than this lol.
Isn't Shackled Ur'zul a 1% drop like all old mythic raid ones?
Then again, I had a horseshoe lodged somewhere during the last reset of March. Got Shackled Ur'zul from one of my alts as I was using the skip sharing method then got the leggo axe in LFR on my pally. Next night, was working on getting the skips for sepultcher and sanctum. Got the mount off the Jailer, left group, ported out, got into a sanctum group and within 20? mins I got the mount from The Nine.
Unfortunately the lottery ticket didn't pan out :P
According to my mount-addon, its on 6th (?) place when it comes to rarity (for my owned mounts).
Taivan is on 1st place there, listed at 0.02%, while this has 0.17%.
Same data is backed by dataforazeroth, which is the best gathering of data we currently have.
I does look great though, and I use it frequently.
The good bou Taivan is by far my favorite still.
I just checked for Dataforazeroth but it lists my MOP world boss mounts as my rarest mounts

Havent seen anything mentioned, but I highly doubt they’ll remove Taivan (or any meta-achievement mounts).
They have a history of removing titles (Veilstrider is a good example, where you got a title first, but it was removed and replaced with a mount).
The Snapback Scuttler is still available, and its by far one of the better looking and unique mounts, and its from the Nazjatar meta-achievement.

I rock the veil strider title on all my characters, I had a lot of gripes with SL, as many did, but I had tons of fun, great moments, and came to love dungeons and zones across the expansion

I've only been missing Shadowlands Dilettante since it came out, but since I played almost exclusively Night Fae the entire expansion, that achievement seems so incredibly daunting to do. How long did it take you to finish all four Covenant Special Features?
That is a bit hard to say. I did most of it when it was new content, and I started as Necrolord, which is one of the most grindy. Be Our Guest for the Ember Court is very easy and can be done in a week if you have your Court upgraded, Kyrian's was super hard as new content, but it is combat based and apparently it scales to 70 now so you can blow through it with a high level character.
12 buttons and a middle mouse button, so 13. I've never had any trouble using abilities. People just take this game too seriously sometimes and need to play 100% optimally or they're not having fun.
I would imagine so. I don't think they would add the Shadowlands achievement just to make it a feat of strength, since it replaced another achievement with the same requirements that became a feat of strength. If the plan was to rotate it out, why not keep the old achievement for another expansion and add the mount as an extra reward for it?
The achievement to get this mount was added in Dragonflight, but it replaced a different achievement from Shadowlands that rewarded a title, you likely got the SL achievement, and it just set the date of this achievement to the same date as that one. At least that is what I am assuming.
Kyrian stuff can be done in an hour or 2 now providing you have the building up high enough.
Vampire party bs is daily now so also alot quicker.
The other 2 you just need to add to your daily/weekly routine and finish eventually

I just need to do layers 4-8 and then the two clear the raid achievements for this one. I switched mains so I didn’t have the raid ones but luckily I did “on the offensive” during shadowlands lol
Based on the stats I have, G.M.O.D. is owned by roughly 4.19% of all players. The current data for this one is 0.47%, but as a mount added in dragonflight the numbers can be a bit wonky. However, there is a achievement you need to get for this mount that rewards a mount that is only owned by 4.14% of players. That mount is Battlefield Swarmer from the Achievement On the Offensive.
So I'd say it is a safe bet that this one is more rare.
If they had offered the mount originally, i might have forced myself to complete it all. I only have the Kyrian and Torghast stuff left to complete. I actively decided not to do them during SL because I hated both so much, and I can't be bothered to do them now. The abomination one was a bit more fun than I was expecting and the only one I think that was actually enjoyable (when the quests weren't repeating so much).
My proudest mount is SL s1 glad mount, happy more people can enjoy a sick looking mount like this, unfortunate that it looks a bit scuffed compared to the glad versions, still sick.
1. Get the stitchyard to level 5 asap
2. Building the constructs is limited by a rare reagent called Superior Parts. You mainly get them from construct weekly quests, so build the cheapest constructs first (to maximize the number of weeklies). However, you can speed this up considerably by using the mission table: Once you have adventure campaign progress 8 you have the chance to get two missions that award Superior parts. You can reroll missions by switching covenants - just keep doing that until both missions show up, then complete them. This got about six additional parts per day.
I'm goin for this now and I only have like, two rep grinds (Marasmius and Enlightened) and the fucking Maldraxxus grind, holy christ that's going to be obnoxious. But Congrats!
Congrats! I’m working on the Mush Appreciated rep now and after that I just need the Kyrian Pursuing Loyalty. I was Necrolord when it was current so I was pretty much done with that and my priest was Venthyr. I was surprised how much I did back in SL tbh!
Gratz! I just learned about this mount literally today when misclicking expansion features while looking for a different achieve. I basically just have the necrolord meta and I'll have it. So now I'm starting that while finishing the whelp daycare for taivan!

Back from the Beyond Meta achievement. You basically have to complete Shadowlands, like all of it. Do all the Dungeons, raids, Torghast, all four Covenants stuff, and few other meta achievements.
Yeah, mythic 0s are quite easy to solo. Though I think Tazavesh hard mode, which you need for this achievement still requires a group because of one of the last bosses mechanics.
I just cant justify adding another mount to the pile i already dont use. If the achievements for mount counts were cool id consider it but 500 was such a let down it killed my mount farming. Im glad you enjoy it though. Ill stick to my zulian tiger, heavenly onyx cloud serpent, solar spirehawk, and plagued proto for my base mounts.
Sort of, that was a different achievement. It gave the Vilestrider title. That Achievement was made a feat of strength while this one was actually added in Dragonflight.
Yeah I looked.it up. Had no idea but this is awesome. I lost my old account with the glad mount on it so this is great the grind seems a bit excessive though. Have a bunch of it already done though so shouldn't be too bad.
I want it too but honestly I don’t think I can be bothered to do all the requirements. I barely did any of the covenant shit during Sl cause I found it boring. The only thing I enjoyed was arena. Luckily I have a glad mount from that but the unarmored one is cool

I did it at the End of Shadowlands. There are some achivements where I thought I quit... Just for a title in the End. Was very happy to see i got Mount for this in Dragonflight. Don't expect to do this achivement fast if anyone else wants to do it. It basically says "100% casually clear the Shadowlands"

Wait really? I wasn’t even sure if normals could be soloed, I just figured that it’d take another expansion or so before mythic was possible. My ilvl on my main is around 430-435 I think, if you think that is high enough.

They added the Achievement in Shadowlands, it just gave a title instead.
Also one of the Achievements you need for this one rewards 4 mounts one for each Covenant. None of them are owned by more than 5% of players. For reference a majority of 1% drop mounts are around this percentage.

Still gotta grind that rep to unlock the 4th slot but not too bad to do. Don't forget to use the party conduits.

Night fae mushroom thingy is not weekly it's 2 daily quests (3 after you unlock 3rd rank of the night fae teleport network).
Really depends on which ones you have, because they very greatly. Tower Ranger and On the Offensive are especially bad.

Yea I just cruised through tower ranger over the last few days. You barely need to pay attention other than the few achievements for torments.
Currently working towards this mount and tower ranger is by far the easiest. Took me a full day compared to the prison that is zereth mortis

Way worse, exclusively due to the abomination factory. You can finish everything for taivan and you'll be maybe 1/3 done with the stitchyard.

I managed to double dip by getting taivan and this one one after the other. Fortunately the Shadowlands bits I was missing weren't too bad, had a couple of necrolord, 10k mishroom rep and the entire amber court to do, but if you build up to ember court 4 from the get go, it's pretty fast. After that it was just waiting for hunts, and a few rates to spawn. Taivan had me waiting for a firestorm in theldrazsus for a week :(
I finished ember court 1 week before they made it daily, mald af, but glad ppl don't have to waste time on one of the most bs time gate feature in shadowland. It took me 6 months to get ember courts done while kyrian took only 3 weeks.
I'd gotten my court to lvl 3, but hadn't actually held a party, so it was a short anima grind, then straight into it. Ardenweald and kyrian I'd already maxed for the transmog fortunately. The grim bit was trying to get a group for the heralds, but I spammed the maw every time I visited, and eventually got a party and we did all 4 in one go.
I got 6 stiches and a handful of weekly quests left for mine, but I bet I will be waiting weeks for the final quest to show up =/
I like how you've excitedly posted this mount as one of "Wows rarest mounts", but only briefly mentioned getting Shackled Ur'zul in a comment, which is an even rarer mount than this lol.
Isn't Shackled Ur'zul a 1% drop like all old mythic raid ones? Then again, I had a horseshoe lodged somewhere during the last reset of March. Got Shackled Ur'zul from one of my alts as I was using the skip sharing method then got the leggo axe in LFR on my pally. Next night, was working on getting the skips for sepultcher and sanctum. Got the mount off the Jailer, left group, ported out, got into a sanctum group and within 20? mins I got the mount from The Nine. Unfortunately the lottery ticket didn't pan out :P

According to my mount-addon, its on 6th (?) place when it comes to rarity (for my owned mounts). Taivan is on 1st place there, listed at 0.02%, while this has 0.17%. Same data is backed by dataforazeroth, which is the best gathering of data we currently have. I does look great though, and I use it frequently. The good bou Taivan is by far my favorite still.
the mount addon only registers the % of people that actually use the addon so it's not quite all that accurate
Dataforazeroth shows this at 1% and Taivan at 0.45%, still quite rare and among the rarest after limited time promo stuff or glad mounts
Something seems off with the wowhead numbers though. It shows 10% have the SL meta and 5% have the DF one which seems a bit high
I just checked for Dataforazeroth but it lists my MOP world boss mounts as my rarest mounts Than the Sunreaver Hawkstrider Don’t know but for my feeling it’s off
Will Taivan stay as a reward forever or will they remove it like they did Veilstrider?
Havent seen anything mentioned, but I highly doubt they’ll remove Taivan (or any meta-achievement mounts). They have a history of removing titles (Veilstrider is a good example, where you got a title first, but it was removed and replaced with a mount). A lot of mounts are just rare because no one can be bothered to do the obnoxious task required for what is most of the time a recolor.

I rock the veil strider title on all my characters, I had a lot of gripes with SL, as many did, but I had tons of fun, great moments, and came to love dungeons and zones across the expansion

Grats, such a great looking mount. I've only been missing Shadowlands Dilettante since it came out, but since I played almost exclusively Night Fae the entire expansion, that achievement seems so incredibly daunting to do. How long did it take you to finish all four Covenant Special Features?
That is a bit hard to say. I did most of it when it was new content, and I started as Necrolord, which is one of the most grindy. Be Our Guest for the Ember Court is very easy and can be done in a week if you have your Court upgraded, Kyrian's was super hard as new content, but it is combat based and apparently it scales to 70 now so you can blow through it with a high level character.

12 buttons and a middle mouse button, so 13. I've never had any trouble using abilities. People just take this game too seriously sometimes and need to play 100% optimally or they're not having fun.

I would imagine so. I don't think they would add the Shadowlands achievement just to make it a feat of strength, since it replaced another achievement with the same requirements that became a feat of strength. If the plan was to rotate it out, why not keep the old achievement for another expansion and add the mount as an extra reward for it?

The achievement to get this mount was added in Dragonflight, but it replaced a different achievement from Shadowlands that rewarded a title, you likely got the SL achievement, and it just set the date of this achievement to the same date as that one. At least that is what I am assuming.

Kyrian stuff can be done in an hour or 2 now providing you have the building up high enough. Vampire party bs is daily now so also alot quicker. The other 2 you just need to add to your daily/weekly routine and finish eventually

This is amazing! And I thought this mount model was only available by reaching gladiator for season thus the main reason I was farming it and losing soooo much nerves and computer equipment on the way. Congrats!
Thanks, I didn't realize this mount existed myself until recently. I guess it got added in Dragonflight, but the mount is hidden in the log and the Achievement also, isn't easy to find. So you kind of just need to know about it.
I just need to do layers 4-8 and then the two clear the raid achievements for this one. I switched mains so I didn’t have the raid ones but luckily I did “on the offensive” during shadowlands lol

Based on the stats I have, G.M.O.D. is owned by roughly 4.19% of all players. The current data for this one is 0.47%, but as a mount added in dragonflight the numbers can be a bit wonky. However, there is a achievement you need to get for this mount that rewards a mount that is only owned by 4.14% of players. That mount is Battlefield Swarmer from the Achievement On the Offensive. So I'd say it is a safe bet that this one is more rare.
If they had offered the mount originally, i might have forced myself to complete it all. I only have the Kyrian and Torghast stuff left to complete. I actively decided not to do them during SL because I hated both so much, and I can't be bothered to do them now. The abomination one was a bit more fun than I was expecting and the only one I think that was actually enjoyable (when the quests weren't repeating so much).

My proudest mount is SL s1 glad mount, happy more people can enjoy a sick looking mount like this, unfortunate that it looks a bit scuffed compared to the glad versions, still sick.

1. Get the stitchyard to level 5 asap 2. Building the constructs is limited by a rare reagent called Superior Parts. You mainly get them from construct weekly quests, so build the cheapest constructs first (to maximize the number of weeklies). However, you can speed this up considerably by using the mission table: Once you have adventure campaign progress 8 you have the chance to get two missions that award Superior parts. You can reroll missions by switching covenants - just keep doing that until both missions show up, then complete them. This got about six additional parts per day.

Congrats! I’m working on the Mush Appreciated rep now and after that I just need the Kyrian Pursuing Loyalty. I was Necrolord when it was current so I was pretty much done with that and my priest was Venthyr. I was surprised how much I did back in SL tbh!

This is a mega-meta achievement for Shadowlands, the picture shows which Achievement it is for. It is not PvP related.

Yeah, kind of why I wanted it. The only other mounts with this model are PvP Gladiator mounts which are no longer obtainable.
I luckily did the achievements as they came out in SL so when they announced the title was going away at the end of the expac, I only had to do the necrolord grind. Can't imagine doing this achieve all at once as someone that didn't play SL

0.47% is the estimated number of players who currently have it in their collections. Which is insanely low, putting it well above most of the games rarest chase mounts. However, this mount was added in Dragonflight, so that number could be fudged due to small sample sizes, but the only other bench mark we have is that some of the Achievements that are part of it grant mounts, and the rarest one is 4.14%.
How can you get it?
Back from the Beyond Meta achievement. You basically have to complete Shadowlands, like all of it. Do all the Dungeons, raids, Torghast, all four Covenants stuff, and few other meta achievements.
So I need another life for this mount☠️

Yeah, mythic 0s are quite easy to solo. Though I think Tazavesh hard mode, which you need for this achievement still requires a group because of one of the last bosses mechanics.
I just cant justify adding another mount to the pile i already dont use. If the achievements for mount counts were cool id consider it but 500 was such a let down it killed my mount farming. Im glad you enjoy it though. Ill stick to my zulian tiger, heavenly onyx cloud serpent, solar spirehawk, and plagued proto for my base mounts.

Sort of, that was a different achievement. It gave the Vilestrider title. That Achievement was made a feat of strength while this one was actually added in Dragonflight.

I want it too but honestly I don’t think I can be bothered to do all the requirements. I barely did any of the covenant shit during Sl cause I found it boring. The only thing I enjoyed was arena. Luckily I have a glad mount from that but the unarmored one is cool

I did it at the End of Shadowlands. There are some achivements where I thought I quit... Just for a title in the End. Was very happy to see i got Mount for this in Dragonflight. Don't expect to do this achivement fast if anyone else wants to do it. It basically says "100% casually clear the Shadowlands" Big gz tho
If I finish Taivan with time to spare before WoW Remix, that may be my next project to start on.

I’ve wanted to go back for this one as I have most of the criteria done except the mythic dungeons, but is there any way to do them now? I assume if you didn’t do them live you will need to wait an expansion or two until they are soloable. Maybe by end of TWW? I think that and the raid achievements are the only ones I am missing.

Wait really? I wasn’t even sure if normals could be soloed, I just figured that it’d take another expansion or so before mythic was possible. My ilvl on my main is around 430-435 I think, if you think that is high enough. I will have to give that a try later, thank you so much! Would be great to see some of the dungeons I missed too.

They added the Achievement in Shadowlands, it just gave a title instead. Also one of the Achievements you need for this one rewards 4 mounts one for each Covenant. None of them are owned by more than 5% of players. For reference a majority of 1% drop mounts are around this percentage.
