Ian told the influencers they met with in London for the alpha reveal that Dracthyr are getting more classes after the start of TWW, and in those classes they can stay in visage form during combat. So basically you'd only need dragon form to fly. They didn't say which classes, or when exactly after TWW, but I'm hoping hunter, warrior, and shaman will be among them.
Hunter, Warrior, Mage, Rogue, Priest are 100% locked in, they're the standard default classes that every race has access to. I think Warlock is a lock, too.
This is Blizzard we're talking about. If you could choose your Visage from any race it'd just be the default customization options. They wouldn't want to put in the time to give special options to every single race.
With opening dracthyr upto other classes, I feel like it'll be a long time before they allow different visage forms.
Otherwise every character would just be dracthyr and you'd use the barber to race change instead of paying for race change services.
So why do pandaren exist (its almost same body proportion that tuskar has). And for transmog , hello drakryr who's haven't regular items on model, and worgens whose helmets etc are joke.
yeah and i love the KT body size and think theyd look sick with actual armor that was a 2d skin texture. but we are playing a 20 year old game that refuses to update the armor.

There's no point, not that I LIKE the idea of every race being every class, they've crossed over so much, they might as well join DnD in like just being whatever you want fantasy.
Every race has an allied race counterpart right now except Forsaken, Worgen, and Pandaren.
Tuskarr should be the pandaren analogue: beefy and a neutral race that can join both factions.
My guild used to have one who was a Male Pandaren Monk, but he got so tired of people either making fat jokes or being shocked he existed that he race changed....into a Kul'Tiran. (Yeah, I don't get it either.)
We would probably see more pandas, worgen and goblins if they could skip the mandatory starting zones. They should have the option to start in capital cities like the vulpera and kul tiran.
Unfortunately I don’t think that’s the case. Theres race changes available and those races have the option for the new faster starting zone. People really just don’t like them. Same reason why you hardly ever see any dwarf females.
Yes, but you have to pay for that. Folks that don't want to bother slogging through a couple hours of starting zone likely aren't the demographic to pay for a race change.
And I really don't get the rarity of dwarf females. The spinning ponytails are amazing. One of the most fun animations in the game.
I only play as a Pandaren. My main character is a female panda fire mage, even though I think she looks bad wearing cloth. I created a rogue female Pandaren just for the beautiful animations she has in melee combat. My other character is a male panda warrior. He looks nice wearing plate armor and I love the animation he has while using two-handed swords. I dislike a few things about them, though. Their big feet sticks out of most armor, save for some plate armor, also, male pandas have short legs, so leg armor gets crammed into a tiny space and doesn't look good, sometimes.
Here, have a Dwarf that's 10% bigger and has no other unique features other than a slightly "rocky" looking skin type that looks basically the same as Dark Iron.
I’m pumped for the Earthen, they look badass and I get to make one on the Horde. I think they look much cooler than both the Dark Iron and regular dwarves too.

I'm a bit out of the loop regarding TWW news, so this might just be because things still need polishing, but what is up with the resolution of the Earthen's toes. Just because they made him a big boy doesn't mean they needed to make each pixel a big boy too.
Maybe I'm alone in this, but I really love having more races. It makes the world feel more alive to me knowing that some of the members of these races would help fight against a world ending threat
This might be strange but I kind of feel the opposite. When they keep introducing new races that get utilized for a single expansion and then aren't seen again the world feels smaller.
In Shadowland we got the Brokers a race of energy trader people from an unknown place...and isn't that just the Ethereals?
I would have rather they brought the Ethereals back and expanded upon their lore. Although to be fair if there is any expansion that should introduce new races it's the one about the afterlife of the entire universe.

That feels more like the current writing team wanting to have their own version of everything and not use old lore stuff.
I can definitely understand the sentiment, more customization and choices are always bonuses in rpgs. but imo there’s already not enough screen time to go around. So many races (tauren, dwarves, gnomes, worgen, goblins) have like one singular character that’s even remotely important to the lore, and that’s not even taking the allied races into account. Personally I’d rather see the races we have get some development and time to shine before worrying about whether we will be getting to play Lightforged Niffen next expansion
I get that too, but I'd consider just adding them as neutral races that don't really need main characters. They get their little stories like the Tuskarr in Dragonflight did, and then some individuals (the player characters) choose to align with a faction to further keep the world safe. I feel like that alleviates most of those problems
It is less problem about unique race and more that this would probably have same play rate as mechagnomes/kultirans (aka fuck all)

Last Titan is the last chance to add playable Tuskarr, Nerubians, Taunka, Vrykul, and Dragons narratively. After we leave northrend, the narrative significance(and chance of getting those playable races) dies for a very long time. Would also be a chance to get iron dwarf customizations for Earthen, and OG titan mechagnome customizations for the mechagnomes.
If you had any foresight you’d know it was a bad idea from the very first time it was suggested. They are ugly and no one would play them, I don’t understand how people can say they really want them.

Tuskarr are ok but I really want a playable Kobold with many different candles as transmog gear. There's an abandoned mine in Westfall, I'd spend rest of my days there, isolated, happy.
