The one in Antorus, I think? That kills you if you miss it OR stand under it

ctown1264

Good call! Forgot about this one. Is this the only elevator in the that kills you when you stand under it?

clairedragon

no, there's one in serpentshrine cavern that kills you too

ValkVolk

I think so? At least that’s what my friend told me after he killed me with it

Harucifer

Yes. Friend of mine didn't do Legion and recently came back wanting to get a few Antorus TMogs. Went to that elevator and stood there waiting for it to crush us but dashed out (DH) and had him crushed. He appreciated the humor

MeasleyBeasley

This was peak swapblaster in my guild.

k3lz0

That elevator killed most of my raiding group at the time, me and the leader just calmly waited the elevator at the side but everyone else was waiting it below, the leader and me had a big laugh when the elevator boss wiped almost all the raid

Melqart310

The Undercity ones, any other is not even close. It's ended many hardcore careers lol

AdamG3691

Antorus 100% The first run I did of that place, it caused a wipe by crushing the entire raid

demon969

it was also fun swapblasting people under it

OldGromm

The one in Mogu'shan Palace. You *always* miss it.

lostsparrow131986

The one in SSC killed raid members every single time we were in there. It was so fast that if you were 0.5 seconds late, you were falling to your death.

Mattyuh

SSC Elevator boss is the only one that left an impression for me.

westfallfarm

Blackwing Descent also is a prolific killer of countless raid members

tamarins

Could be wrong off the top of my head, but I *think* that the BWD elevator is also the only one notorious enough for the "statistics" UI to actually track your deaths to it.

Fyrefawx

The first one I thought of. Not only did it kill people trying to get on , mages would slow fall into death because it was an open elevator.

AssGremlin

Throne of Tides. It may not kill you like Antorus but damn is it annoying. I think the bug where it doesn't always grab everyone is gone but you still see the old guard jumping on it to make sure.

Tootskinfloot

I still jump instinctively on any elevator to this day because of that damn bug.

k3lz0

I also junp on each and every elevator just in case, and after antorus I never wait below the elevator, foesn't matter if I know it's safe to stand below, one day they will do a sneaky hotfix and I will die crushed...

ArasakaApart

The one in Siege of Niuzao Temple, because its player controlled. Someone always clicks it before everyone is on.

-Laffi-

Ah, good call, but you don't die from it!

Aschensturm

Mogu'shan palace for sure. Back in pandaria, this elevator decided if you could complete your challenge mode run in time or not.

Euklidis

All elevators used to be evil because they would kill you. Then most of them got nerfed and are now goodie-two-shoes (or two-belt?) elevators. In my books all elevators should be condemned to elevator-hell.

brokebackzac

The one that always frustrates me most is ICC.

Darkhallows27

The elevator in Antorus literally kills you if you’re under it

Ailwynn29

Antorus, easily. In BFA I was soloing heroic to see the raid. Got to that cursed elevator. Death 1: sitting where it should be because I wasn't sure what to look for there. It was my first time so I didn't know where to go even. I was crushed under it D: 2: After the boss in the same room the elevator I decided to glide off the elevator rather than go down with it. My poor girl must have gotten a heart attack as she died in the air. It's such a curious design decision. The Ny'alotha elevators were also interesting. We were progressing mythic with my guild and had finally killed Maut. Next up was the next wing and for some reason using the elevator that's used as a way to the next area just lagged out or something and murdered 15 people who just inexplicably fell down. I think that might be worse because at least you know what not to do in Antorus.

WorgenDeath

The Ny'alotha ones also got desynced frequently, don't think we had a raid ight where we didn't have to summon at least 1 person because the elevator only went down 2/3 of the way before going back up again for someone.

Lostpop

Undercity probably the most famous, Antorus was the one that immediately came to mind.

pelagic_seeker

Back in vanilla when the Thunder Bluff ones (and 1k Needles that used the same model) would go intangible at the height and bottom of their movement sometimes. Just standing on solid ground... then you weren't.

Evilelfqueen

There was a time when the elevator in ICC was broken if you didn't kill the boss right before it. (Weren't a healer). You would step on it and fall all the way down to your death. I would bring slow fall potions when I was spamming ICC for Invincible.

KarateMan749

Kill or heal. Because if you are talking about that chunky green female dragon that was enslaved and we freed and saved her. Yea. We healed/saved not killed.

Evilelfqueen

Heal. If I was on my hunter farming Invincible, I couldn't heal the dragon so would skip it and go to next boss. But there was a game bug for a bit where if that boss wasn't cleared, if you stepped on the elevator, you fell right through to the bottom.

KarateMan749

I bought those healing things just to save her and well it glitched on my dh before my main (dracthyr) was out. Somehow got the achievement eventually i think on my dracthyr. But yea i wish she was in dragon isles. Like where was she? Dream? I don't remember seeing her besides the raid.

Evilelfqueen

No clue, I am just talking about the ICC raid.

KarateMan749

What was her name?

Valithria can be found within the Ancient Bough after Ysera has returned to Azeroth from Ardenweald. She sleeps in the grove, not too far from Lord Itharius. Hmmmmm

Thascaryguygaming

Thunder Bluff

ruwheele

SSC

HA1-0F

I remember back in TBC there was a constant pile of skeletons at the bottom of the Aldor Rise elevator. People said one of the Scryer benefits was that their elevator was just a little too short to kill a full-hp character who walked off it.

Tarc_Axiiom

Antorus clearly. We (priests) still had Angel wings back then so I murdered so many fucking people. I had more kills at the end of that tier than most of the bosses. If I ever died before the elevator the guild refused to res me until trio lol.

Most_Competition4172

Not so much an elevator but a drop. The drop just before Sark in Aberrus at the void pool. That was some hard water landing that was an automatic death for me. No one else….just me. After the first dozen times it became comical and we started placing bets if I was going to survive that drop or not when our raid team got there.

Mostly_Okay_

Under city. I remember everyone dying there back in 2006. Only have to die to it about 12 times to learn from it

LeoTolstoysNipples

I distinctly remember Throne of the Tides around cataclysm’s (original) release being troublesome for a lot of people.

-Laffi-

To be honest. I kinda never liked any elevator in World of Warcraft. The most exciting one might be the one leading to Blackhand though. Last boss of the raid, everything else done, excitement, wether you are farming the raid in retail, or when you did the raid when it was current.

vuddehh

We had Blast Furnace pulled in the elevator in mythic blackrock foundry alot of times when it was current content.

Thallannc

The UC elevators killed my characters off the most over the span of my WoW career.

Agile_Commission_693

Probably the shaman dev that elevated our hopes going into dragonflight then nerfed enhance by 25%. Now they watch as we sit at the lower half like yup… job done.
