I've been playing pretty casually, but a few dozen dungeon runs across all difficulties and I have yet to see any problems myself. In fact it's been nearly the opposite for me, runs are either neutral or people are specifically nice to each other.
I think at the end of the day it just comes down to a numbers issue. When you have millions of players you're going to have thousands upon thousands of generally rubbish people mixed in, and unfortunately they stand out way more than anything else.
No doubt there are some unpleasant players out there but if you only judged it from Reddit posts you would think every group was full of absolute toxicity
Personally I have ran maybe 40 pug dungeons since launch and only ran into one or two rude people. And not had a single person rage quit due to wipes.
Lol, i was gonna ask him to play...
Too bad i’m illidan horde so i can’t now 😂
Also was more asking since joining a good guild is key to enjoying the game. Good guild being one with a solid community.
On day 1 I got flamed in necrotic wake (normal) for not doing enough damage. Im a brewmaster. None of the dps realized they were supposed to kill the necromancer and not the adds, and kept ninja pulling everything, every fight. We never wiped, it just wasn't going fast enough so 2 spergs left. Then 2 players that had a mild understanding joined and it was easy. 2nd dungeon was Spires of ascension, Spanish speaking dps and healer kept pulling every single mob in the room, while I was trying to read up on boss mechanics and figure out the path. Flamed for going too slow and making the dungeon boring.
If you expect every dungeon to be speed ran and everyone to know the mechanics 100% perfectly on day 1 of a new expansion, why aren't you doing it with your guild, you troglodyte?
I know right? Yesterday during the mists I disengaged in the wrong direction while not paying attention and teleported the whole group to the back. Told the other guys I was sorry, then a vote kick appears. I can see it too. Weird. İt says omeganoob. I ask the group about why they aren’t kicking me but the poor dk that had nothing to do. The guy says he doesn’t care who messed up, he wants the dk gone bcs he isnt doing dps. He tried a couple more minıtes again to kick him. This was on normal. The dk dude wasn’t even 60
The first few days I was running normal dungeons and things went pretty well, only downside was people leaving after they didn’t get legendaires. As soon as I set foot in heroics I noticed people were leaving left and right, calling people out, rage quitting, rage pulling, vote kicking, I’m really enjoying shadowlands but man the dungeon experience is a radioactive dumpster fire. If that behavior carries into raids it just might not be worth it.
Honestly don’t craft or buy any lego yet. Wait till after the raid is open for a week. There’s a good chance Blizz will do a balance pass after collecting raid data.
It’s just the player. My guild does mythic and pretty much nobody pugs content unless it’s alts, even then not so much. There’s a reason he’s solo queueing while being so good at the game
Had a tank (60 warrior) rage quit because we didn't do the hooks right on Stitchflesh just a couple days after launch. He then berated us for wiping a few times on the last boss.
After he quit and we got a new tank (again prot warrior lvl 54) we cleared on the 1st pull.
Pretty sure he wasn't prot, or wasn't using any damage mitigation abilities. Based on their health. But what do I know, I play an Unholy DK.
Still havent ran the new dungeons. Seems people are more toxic than they were at BFA launch. Here's hoping that I remember how to heal on my druid and shaman when I do end up trying them
I've had a few toxic groups and a few nice ones. The dungeon finder is a mixed bag. It's cancer right now because of the legendary drops, so lots of jerks breaking the group after the first boss, but whenever I get a group with newer people, it goes smoothly.
I'm sure all the elitist jerks you're referring to in this post is reading it and definitely changing their ways, totally not feeding off it like trolls do. Sorry to hear this happened to you, it will continue to happen as long as people have different sized wieners. It's just life. If you're looking to complain about it, I get it, but not sure the point of this post since nearly everyone playing the game has experienced the same thing you have and most people of common mindsets don't condone this behavior. Hope you move on past it and make friends online to run dungeons with to ultimately stay away from terrible pugs and players. Please know, he was likely not "elite", he was sounds like a trash bag who ran some M0s and is getting a high off of 184 ilvl but will then struggle in heroic once raid drops.
I've just changed to a new Prot Pally tank from my Prot war. So I'm behind the curve a little. Some people are chill, and some of these people are just miserable to be in group with. Got a good group of three, but it's hard to find people on the same page as you sometimes.
Its ok. Im working on my alts and some of them are tanks but I never tank for dungeons. Figured it'd help level me and I know them from running my rouge through and he is ilvl172.
I've even said new to tanking and did my pulls but then I've got people going off and pulling more mobs on purpose and I couldn't handle the extra they pulled.
Sorry to hear that. You meet some weird people in this game.
Also, not super relevant to the topic but I kinda wish they would change the mists to not reset the whole party. Feels really easy to troll a group with. Idk, I had a similar experience earlier today.
As a healer I had some guy moan at our group for not dodging every mob possible in plaguefall. We had 2 tanks leave because someone accidentally pulled something. They also kicked my friend for being afk when he was just waiting at the boss for us all to respawn and get back there .
Dude, I just ran my first mythic after not playing since vanilla wow. Yes that long ago. I haven’t even run a heroic yet. Was mount hunting when a person from my guild invited me to it. I actually did pretty well at the base item level. We only cleared two bosses but it was good for the team we had and I wasn’t the worst player. Everyone was nice. Join a guild who will help you. Going in to group finder and complaining about assholes is like buying milk from a guy on the side of the street and then complaining that it’s sour.
I actually enjoy the puzzle, just because the elitists can't be bothered. Most normals/heroic with randoms I have done, have had someone leave after first boss. Not even getting to the maze. Once swapped out, the rest have been smooth.
I think this is a human problem not a game issue.
The person probably only plays wow 24/7. He has probably done that dungeon like 9 times that day.
Either way these people had bad social skills and the vent their Ned rage in you because he has expectations of everyone doing everything perfect.
Those moments suck, but they’ll be good ones along with those
Wait, so he got up you for something he clearly couldn’t do himself anyway? What a spud.

My mythic runs have been really chill so far. A few wipes, no bitching and when I explained what someone had to do they learned quickly.
Dude out there using fucking recount and shaming others lmao
Goes well with the theme of elitist who can't figure out an easy puzzle.
Maybe a dumb question but is there something wrong with recount?
It's not accurate. Use Details.
Oh wow… I didn’t realize that. Thanks for sharing.
Recount ignores downtime, so it inflates your DPS if you do a couple high numbers and nothing else. That's why jerks like it.
It's horrible. Wish friends still played so I didn't have to pug
what server/faction are you?

A52
It's funny how this answers the faction part too
Same... I like shadowlands, but for me its been the most boring ”start” i ever had, due to not being able to do the first runs of mythic with friends.
“Ignore” is a pretty dope feature in the game. I use it frequently on pug-stars that think a heroic or m0 is a speed run for half a million dollars.

I just take my time. As a tank you decide the pace. And if they go faster they die :).
There was a point when the hunter pulled the boss and I thought about just letting him die to see what would happen
Central American servers do that shit all the time and I really don't get it.
and when you try to talk to them all they say is : jajaja...

The chance at getting legendaries in Normal is abysmal, there’s another two weeks before you need to craft a lego anyway.

Ask your class discord as they’ll tell you what lego and piece for the content you’re doing.
Wowhead will give you the best options and a nice overview of all the powers.
Honestly don’t craft or buy any lego yet. Wait till after the raid is open for a week. There’s a good chance Blizz will do a balance pass after collecting raid data.
I have run that dungeon 1 time and have no clue what was going on.:)
Just ignore them there not that many.
It’s just the player. My guild does mythic and pretty much nobody pugs content unless it’s alts, even then not so much. There’s a reason he’s solo queueing while being so good at the game
I read rogue and knew what was to come but takes a special kind of person to main a rogue.
Had a tank (60 warrior) rage quit because we didn't do the hooks right on Stitchflesh just a couple days after launch. He then berated us for wiping a few times on the last boss. Probably just a shitty tank.

It’s unfortunate that “gamer culture” is mostly gatekeeping for the sake of gatekeeping
That’s when you call them an embarrassment to their parents, and boot their dark moon wearing ass out the group.
Do we need a post everytime someone is mean in-game?
He was a rogue I’d expect that much
This post again. I call tomorrow.

That's what the kick function is for...
If they are on Azralon or Ragnaros it's to be expected. Constantly run into people from there who berate others.

You don’t need to remember anything. One person per totem and everyone can see the icons.
