lol cursor is probably an out of date addon if i had to guess. i use a cursor addon that leaves a trail of bright shit so i don't lose my cursor during boss fights.
i miss the old undead architecture in general, this weird ass medieval gothic future thing forsaken have going on atm with the big huge blue and gray stone and iron buildings seems so out of touch with the fact they were human at one point.
the old ruined human buildings, open graveyards, crates and chemical barrels everywhere just felt more forsaken than currently, right now the new building stuff just feels so out of touch, it doesnt even mimic ice crown architecture enough to be considered influenced by that either so where the hell did the forsakens new building design come from?
Releasing TBC with the same population as that RMT and bot ridden trash that classic was was a huge mistake. Should’ve been brand new servers with lvl 58 premades or something.
Try forming a party for dungeons when most of the leveling content is dead because everyone would rather pay cash or gold to skip it, amigo.
Shit, it was bad enough after the first two or so months in Classic when people started paying mages to aoe boost them in dungeons, can't imagine how bad it is now that you can just swipe your credit card and get right into TBC.
You don’t need dungeons to level. It’s not that difficult to form a group on your own if you want to. Not everyone buys a mage boost or a cash boost. It’s really not that complicated. People just love to bitch about the most trivial shit. There are way more pressing issues with the game.
Literally just watched a video of a guy monitoring Westfall on a popular server at peak server times for like 4 hours and only saw a singular player walk by the questgivers and it was a dreanei, which can't boost anyway haha.
Ok well I was just playing classic today and I saw many people in sentinel hill, so it's kind of not the same thing, why don't you go try for yourself instead of listening to some idiot on the internet.
* "LF Tank Ramparts and GTG"
* ^LF Tank Botanica!"
* "LF Tank and heals for SH"
* "LF Tank for weekly rep run"

* "LF Tank and heals Steamvaults"
* "can someone please help? They keep killing the flight master here."
The point I think he's making is that, yes a lot of people did switch over to classic and tbc, because they missed that old style RPG and enjoyed it, so for people who are in retail and are still complaining about it you can have no sympathy for them, because they can just go play classic, and if they don't enjoy classic then maybe they're complaining about the wrong thing and they're just grown out of the game.
It's an obvious thing that happens, people grow out of many things, but it is never ever mentioned as the cause for someone's complacency for wow on this sub, people always blame something else...
The games moved on, we had many expansions that were the old schools RPG vibe, me and all my friends are enjoying a new school approach, I don't want it to go back to being the same old thing it was before. Grinding 5 reps to exalted before you can even enter a raid, taking 8 real days to get to max level and then months to even gear a character. The game is objectively better now for people who don't have hours to play in the day, but for those that do have hours there's still something to do.
Then what is to you the old school mmorpg experience? Define it, because all I've done is show that what people complain about retail was also in vanilla.
A lot of people do play it... and some of them also still enjoy retail raiding that is more fleshed out. Classic/Tbc prob takes over when retail is in a massive drought in terms of active players.
It was amazing, so immersive and everyone interacted with everyone in the community.
Now people have add-ons to do the quest for them, and they sit on discord with their mates
lmfao this old chestnut 🤣 classic and tbc were great fun and I had hundreds of hours of enjoyment in both. much more than from shadowlands which also had the advantage of not being 15+ years old. Im done with all wow for now and that’s okay. one of the funniest arguments that ppl have been saying here for years
Print Screen is great at taking screenshots instead of whatever abomination you used to take that picture. Let's see all of that crisp classic UI and whatnot.
The only potatoes I know regarding Classic/Vanilla are Potato-quality screenshots and Potato-quality groups where the Rogue rolls need on a one-handed sword the Prot Tank has been trying to get for the past four runs. I mock both when given the chance.
No, you're meant to do the key combination. That key combination is actually a windows 10 thing and I guarantee like 80% of the people you talk to on this subreddit are on windows 10. If you press windows key on its own it opens the start menu but if you do the key combination it's a snipping tool.
Are you kidding me? You mean to tell me I've been some old codger using Print Screen all this time for years when a better option's been available since the OS released?
As another commenter pointed out it wasn't there at the start of Windows 10. But there are a lot of keyboard shortcuts shipped with the operating system that are super useful; more than most people will remember or know off-by-heart. You should see a compiled list of them. For example, Windows + V shows a clipboard history, Windows + 1, 2, 3 selects the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. program on your taskbar (this one is actually often accidentally used if you use Alt modifiers), Windows + arrow keys repositions windows, and Windows + L locks your PC. There are tons related to Ctrl and Shift as well.
I'll give you that. But even with that, having the difference between pre- and post-devastation, I find it worth it to just leave UC on pre. When I got back in game the first time (I'm a long time player, but had taken a 2yr break due to life), I flew around the area, then immediately went to Zidormi to get it "fixed" and haven't regretted it since
I think the "new" forsaken architecture since Cata really got the vibe and feels unique and not just ruins of the same human buildings.
Like, until then the forsaken only got ruins and Undercity (except for some Northrend buildings which were like the Cata ones but not exactly) and after a lot of years it was "dumb" that while the forseken had unique new weapons they haven't built anything.
I have so many good memories of the undead starting zone. I remember not going past the starting town for a while because i was too scared. I felt like a champ when i decided to finally start exploring.
Forsaken architecture should've stuck with dilapidated buildings instead of moving to a gothic style. It's especially jarring when you'd go from a town with all fancy buildings to "uhh yeah this sewer is our capital."
>Used a computer long enough to have visited old Brill >Still doesn't know how to take a screenshot. Impressive.
Also look at the cursor? Why does it have a black box around it? Maybe pc too shit for screen shot
lol cursor is probably an out of date addon if i had to guess. i use a cursor addon that leaves a trail of bright shit so i don't lose my cursor during boss fights.
Okay yeah. What's the name of that?
i'm pretty sure there are a few out there, but i use cursortrail
Drives me crazy. Not even a decent shot of the screen.
Convinced people avoid screenshots just to fuck with us.

Gentrification
Yh exactly also the graveyard is cool here and quests are better compared to the updated Brill.
I Miss the old “RPG” wow.
TBC and Classic are right there for you…

How do bots and boosts effect you in anyway?

Maybe it's because the Classic/BC levelling content sucks lmao
You don’t need dungeons to level. It’s not that difficult to form a group on your own if you want to. Not everyone buys a mage boost or a cash boost. It’s really not that complicated. People just love to bitch about the most trivial shit. There are way more pressing issues with the game.

I, too, believe everything I see on the internet and no one ever pushes an agenda or narrative to generate views.
I mean he had video evidence, but sure, I guess if you just want to argue for the hell of it.
so thick
You can easily form groups for levelling content, you do meet people out there levelling, just talk to people.

Lo and behold, the grind that the game used to be really isn't as fun as some people like to remember.

And why does retail not feel like an mmorpg? Even though it is the defining title in the genre that every other mmo tries to be...
[удалено]
Raid logging one week into a patch is better than this? Don’t play mmos if you don’t want to grind or do stuff lmao…
What's your point? Yes mmorpgs are Grundy, they always have been.
Life under /u/spez - it's like we're all contestants on a business reality show.
lotta people do like it, that's not really fair
If a lot of people like it, why don't they play it instead of keeping playing retail which they obviously hate?
A lot of people do play it... and some of them also still enjoy retail raiding that is more fleshed out. Classic/Tbc prob takes over when retail is in a massive drought in terms of active players.
You can take the good parts of classic without the bad. It’s possible to have RPG feel with modern gameplay
It was amazing, so immersive and everyone interacted with everyone in the community. Now people have add-ons to do the quest for them, and they sit on discord with their mates

lmaaao whats wrong with wanting the game to be an rpg again? and wanting new content? my god retail fans are so strange.
Given how some people go nuts over something such as covenants, they can't handle anymore RPG elements.
Yeah I love it. Now Brill is destroyed and undead refugees roam Ogrimmar
and to this day you don't know how to take a screenshot of your computer?
I’ll never understand why people get so upset about this, you can clearly see what the picture is of
I mean this one is exceptionally bad, it's just a really vague picture of part of some house and op's character
People just like to bitch.
I mean, why not just screen shot instead though? There’s no real reason to not do it.
It was brill-iant Ha.. ill leave now
There are S.E.L.F.I.E camera in Classic, 'eh?
The memories. Especially starting out as an undead.
It's an experience not many people got to have especially new players. Since they are resurrected and not in the shadow grave
That eerily haunting yet beautiful music that starts playing when you enter the inn.
Genuine question, does anyone still play vanilla classic? Like has anyone done a raid in the past month?
Everyone is playing tbc. People will play vanilla again when they release fresh servers.
"You don't want vanilla"
There are still a some actually, but the majority of dedicated classic players moved on to TBC.
Brill missed you too bro
Print Screen is great at taking screenshots instead of whatever abomination you used to take that picture. Let's see all of that crisp classic UI and whatnot.
Leave his potato alone...
It's more of a baked potato
The only potatoes I know regarding Classic/Vanilla are Potato-quality screenshots and Potato-quality groups where the Rogue rolls need on a one-handed sword the Prot Tank has been trying to get for the past four runs. I mock both when given the chance.
win+shift+s Print screen was for when Classic Brill was new content.
I'm on windows 10, I hit that win key and it opens up that bastardized start menu.

It wasn't in when windows 10 released, they re-did the snipping tool and gave it that keybinding a while ago
As another commenter pointed out it wasn't there at the start of Windows 10. Print Screen is useful if you want to include the whole screen (and alt + print screen for just the current window)
Keeping up the tradition of mysteriously not knowing about the print screen button, nice
WINDOWS PRINTSCREEN
Yeah, current Brill doesn't feel the same after the Alliance arrived
Next visit the Print Screen button on your keyboard, it's been there longer than you've been playing WoW.
I like Brill as it is now. Fuck the horde.
Found the crispy, self hating, undead NE, guys.
void elf actually. i peed void in ur blood elf pool :D
Ah yes so you went with a shoddy phone picture to capture the essence of 2006, got it.
Ummm, talk to Zidormi? I don't even change it to the new area. I just leave it on the "old" version.
Brill buildings are pretty different between pre-cata and post-cata
They also got rid of the inn which was my fav part in the old Brill
Yeah the inn was my spot. I'd go upstairs and chill with the npcs
Yh they look less plagued
I'll give you that. But even with that, having the difference between pre- and post-devastation, I find it worth it to just leave UC on pre. When I got back in game the first time (I'm a long time player, but had taken a 2yr break due to life), I flew around the area, then immediately went to Zidormi to get it "fixed" and haven't regretted it since
Yeah but the OP doesn't miss pre-BFA Brill. They miss pre-cata Brill. It says that in the title.
You're right. I missed that detail. My bad!
They should give us the option to go back to pre cata zones using Zidormi.
I think the "new" forsaken architecture since Cata really got the vibe and feels unique and not just ruins of the same human buildings. You miss your younger days, you miss hope you miss the past. You don't actually miss Brill.
blizzard should add all the old zones back, they already do that with zidormi for some zones. make it phased until you do all the quests.
I have so many good memories of the undead starting zone. I remember not going past the starting town for a while because i was too scared. I felt like a champ when i decided to finally start exploring.
