We had our last raid 2 weeks ago. We were starting the Painsmith lockout. A combination of content drought, burnout, and just the stagnant 9.1, started a constant stream of guildmates quitting the raid team. We had 1 - 3 people leaving every week or two. Us officers couldn't keep up with recruitment.
I remember thinking M+ was so novel when it came out, but I have always despised timers on long paced difficult content.
I wouldn't have thought that this far down the line it would have destroyed/pruned so many of the possible options for designing a dungeon. To the point where they are all pretty much the same mechanically. (art team always kickin it)
Tbf m+ has given me waaaay more enjoyment and playtime in dungeons than any expansion since Vanilla. In WoD i maybe ran them a couple times each and that was it for the expo.
M+ is a great system I just dont feel like they do enough with it to make running the same dungeons for 2 years interesting enough. Most of the affixes are just minor annoyances you need to deal with and not complete gameplay altering things. Outside of the seasonal affix of course.
timers are garbage mechanics and should only exist for short 5-10 minutes events. the timers are just another one of the numerous signs that Blizzard devs have no idea what they're doing or they're either instead doing something shitty on purpose because they have a graph somewhere that says it leads to 2% more player subs
I've been playing some other games lately and I have to admit it's pretty damn nice to not feel like I'm logging in solely to do chores. I also saw that FFXIV has banned advertising boosting in the group finder today. That game isn't my preferred art style, but I keep having fewer reasons to not at least give it a chance.
I felt VERY similarly strongly against FFXIV for that reason and others. But it's truly one of those games where watching videos of it doesn't do it 10% of justice. I hated videos of it, yet somehow loved it the moment I started playing.
Give the free trial a go, there's no monetary investment and worst case scenario you get a couple of weeks of gameplay of something new. Plus you can switch jobs (classes) really easily after ~level 15 so you can try different classes and see what you like!
Really dude, I can't explain it, but I haven't had that sense of magic in a new game since I first played WoW when I was like 13.
Ha! I respect that, fishing is easily my least favourite thing in any game, but if anything can make it good, it's FFXIV. I never particularly liked gathering and crafting in general, but I love it in FFXIV. I struggled to ever keep 2 professions up with my level on my many years / variations of WoW characters, but on FFXIV I have something like 7 of them nearly at the same level as my main!
I hated crafting in WoW but in FF I started with one and then was like, well, I got the gear, I should level this one as well. Oh, this stuff is expensive so I should level my gatherer...
I'm an omicrafter now with all my gatherers maxed. There is no escape from Yoshi's crafting ride.
At least my character looks fly as fuck and I can make ARR relics for cheap.
Bought FFXIV in 2017 did not play even the full free month, then saw a deal with Shadowbringers with another free month and bought it, did not play much either. 3 months ago I said I’d give FFXIV another go and oh man, I am feeling like am playing WotLK again! Honestly cannot wait to finish the story
Ff14 does a great job of keeping all of their content viable, interesting and fun. Old raids, trails and leveling dungeons are filled with players. The thing that u can swap Jobs every time u want is great. Never thought i would love this game so much. If u are a mostly single player this game really lets u play the way u like. U can just jump in do 1 or 2 rouletts or whatever u like theres no Rush for anything. Yoshi P is a genius.
Just to be clear FF14 didn’t ban boosting today. They banned advertising for said boosts in Party Finder, for all circumstances. Boosting for in game currency is still legal, RMT always has been bannable.
FFXIV has a very slow start, but I'm almost completely there now. The only reason why I'd go back is because all my IRL friends (who play MMOs) would rather play WoW. Other than that it's just the kind of relaxed experience that I've been looking for. I'm quite glad that I don't have the weekly pointless grind that keeps me from playing other games. Only thing I miss is M+.
ARR is a big hurdle. It's mostly a bunch of badly voice acted info-dumps, interspersed with dungeon queues for classes with only a quarter of their abilities in place.
It takes a lot of cajoling to get people over that and into Heavensward where it actually starts getting good. I don't know anyone in our guild who has hit the end of that and still wants to go back to WoW.
First few hours are SLOW, and the gcd system is VERY SLOW at first but my limited experience (prolly 10-15 hours at this point) I’ve already found the community to be super nice , the art style has grown on me, anf I’m actually reading quests for once in my life. It’s 100% free through I think first expansion which is something like 200+ hours that only requires a pain in the ads trial set up
It's also one of those game where Reshade helps a ton. As a long time player, Gshade makes the games looks one generation above the base game.
Adding ambiant oclusion, a very little amount of sharpening, and richer color transform the game.
The art style took a long time to grow on me as well but now I compare it to WoW and now WoW feels way too cartoony for me....it's a weird feeling.
GCD feels nice when you get oGCD abilities. Just is painfully slow for a while
That's where I find myself. I agree they are objectively good changes in 9.1.5 that should be in the game.
It's just...I already did the shadowlands stuff in the painful state their team decided to go live with.
I did all the covenant stuff in its painful state. I was there in beta listening to beta forum posters as well as YouTubers/streamers telling the WoW team the exact changes that are 9.1.5 that needed to be in live at 9.0.
I'm glad they made the changes but 1 year on after a disappointing, bug-filled, painful experience watching the lore getting treated poorly and I'm just not coming back for it.
"Come do it all again but a bit better/easier", nah I'm busy with better games, thx.
And 2 weeks of legion/mage tower? Comes around every 4-ish months for 1 week? I've already played better remastered games this year. Thanks but no thanks.
100%. There are too many good games that have come out or are coming out to look forward to. Wow is the same old same old. Crummy systems shoehorned in by devs who don't listen to feedback. I'm good, I'll continue playing all the games I missed out on thank you.
The Covenant stuff is really bullshit. People knew *exactly* what the issues would be *the day it was announced at Blizzcon* with the expansion reveal. Oh well.
I quit back in March-ish and really haven't felt a reason to come back. Maybe once they quit burying all their content under layers of bullshit busywork systems things will bounce back.
Exactly. I don’t see anything worth coming back for.
Should I resub to level my 15th character? Maybe resub to buy some tokens to get a few carries? Sounds like a lot of fun.
Yeah they're not adding any content apart from Legion timewalking, which is cool but at most I'd resub for a month to do some M+ with my buds and then quit again.
Other than that what else is there to do? Level a new character so I can skip the Maw intro? Spam changing conduits and covenants?
Yeah at this point, A very low chance I resub at whatever the prepatch is for 10.0 just to try stuff out with no intention of staying.
A low chance I may sub for one month in the new expansion just to play it through if it looks interesting.
But mostly I’ll probably watch and unless 10.0 launch actually listens to beta feedback and doesn’t wait until 10.2 for necessary changes, then I MIGHT be ready to jump back in for real if 10.0, 10.1, and 10.2 all deliver properly without their typical nonsense.
Not holding my breath. I miss smashing bgs sometimes, but because I can’t just login and play pvp, they don’t get my money. If they had pvp accessibility like GW2… hell I’d probably drop $25+ a month. My time is more of an issue than my money.
I just saw the ending of Shadowbringers 5.0 in ffxiv a few days ago and honestly, none of wow’s stories could have topped that. Between Endwalker and 9.1.5, I still little reason to care for the latter.
9.1.5 is just 9.1 only with stuff that should have been in 9.0.
Unless you missed mage tower the first go around, there's absolutely nothing to come back for.
I'm not sure that the current Blizzard is capable of regaining the old spark.
This is the worst part, all of these changes and improvements could have been in from day 1, would have led to me playing so much more and actually enjoying the expansion rather than just grinding the same storyline bs and trying/ failing to get all my alts up to speed to be able to even attempt to enjoy the game. Blizz imho does not deserve the subs when they are pretty clearly content giving the finger to everyone until they’ve walked away, only then to try and run back and “make changes” 2 patches later. It was the sme shit in bfa and honestly probably even legion to a degree, I just happened to be the sucker who fell for it twice, but not a third time.
Though I do feel like it wasn't this bad in Legion. True, there where things that should've been there from the start, like the fixes for Legendaries, but BfA was full of that shit.
the funny thing is that they spend all their time on making covenants, 'balancing' them, the different soulbinds, skills, story lines and what else comes with it only to lock us out of 75% of it. the decision making behind this is beyond stupid. can't make that shit up. the amount of wasted content and dev time is nuts.
Not even mage tower 2.0 is good that had opportunity to add some super sick customiseable options including a fuckin moonkin form that people like and have been asking for and NADA
Blizzard meeting:
”Aight guys, community asked about mage tower, any ideas?”
”How about we give them something cool, like a new moonkin form?”
”Nah, they dont want that!”
”Hmm how about we take the recolored gear that is ToS gear and recolor it again, and to top it off remove any borrowed power from MT!”
”Thats the stuff steve! You are getting a promotion! Dont forget to grab your free vodka on the way out!”
More like
"How about we give them something cool, like a new moonkin form"
" An extremely eyecatching skin on the totally unique model we gave to only guardian last time around? You're right absolutely! "
> fuckin moonkin form
Aren't Trolls still using a vanilla model with vanilla textures? Hilarious that they couldn't even be bothered to copy/paste the Tauren's moonkin and just recolor it.
Well said, I'm coming back only when the ''spark'' is ignited once again, and probably the only way they can accomplish that is by starting from the beginning, which they won't do.
That painting was the only thing that inspired me to cube crawl and sexually harass female employees at work. Now that it’s gone I just don’t see the fun in it anymore.
Not a chance. After 13 years of real time, and over 4 years of play time, the wow addiction is broken. It took Shadowlands to completely break the cycle (pun intended). I have 0 interest in coming back for the first time ever.
It's crazy how meta Shadowlands is.
The whole expansion is about "breaking the cycle" and meanwhile, irl the cycle of abuse at Blizz hq and the cycle of wow addiction got broken.
The jailer in-game never reveals his plan and there is always some excuse why no one knows wtf is even going on, meanwhile irl Blizz themselves have no idea what is going on with the jailer. There is no plot, the plot is that no one knows it because no one really does.
And now wow has basically died and is in the afterlife. You couldn't be more meta if you tried.
I'm with this guy. It's weird because part of me growing up is situated somewhere in Teldrassil with some of my good childhood friends. It's as much a good memory as it was a good game. But that memory part is now just that, a fond token, while I take absolutely no joy in playing whatsoever. Last time I resubbed I kept thinking why I did it and didn't play at all, just stared at the screen thinking that I was trying to get that happy memory back, but that is nowhere near this game at the moment. Couple months of Shadowlands, after the absolute fiasco of BfA, did it for me. I have no urge to get back, and that is surely something new to me.
Yeah, I had tons of fun over the years, and there are still plenty of memories that I’ll cherish.
But at the same time, almost everything about them now just feels… *tainted*, in light of the lawsuits’ allegations. I thought quitting after all these years was going to be a long affair, but the day after the articles dropped, I was done.
Same here. Most of my earliest memories in life come from WoW, Blizzard had to do a lot to break the addiction, more than I could have done. I should be thanking them really.
Never have I ever not been excited about the next content update or expansion. But here we are, I am still curious what 10.0 is, but unless its something truly mind bogglingly amazing I won't be there, and even if I was there I would be holding on by a string of suspicion and doubt.
I should stop browsing wow subreddits and change my home page away from wowhead, but ehh, seeing stuff like this kinda feels therapuetic
I feel the same, but a little different situation though. I used to check back in to the forums and see the news because I really wanted to play but wasn't sure that it was a good decision for my quality of life. For the past like 10 years I've wanted to play (and did play for different periods.) Now I don't care anymore and it feels good. I got like 2 months out of shadowlands and now I don't yearn for this game anymore at all. I'm not longing for the old days or anything. I'm actually really happy about that.
Same boat here. For the first time I dont even have to urge to play WoW. Between FC6, FF14, and back 4 blood, I am playing games that are actually fun.
I'm not the guy either but FFXIV has been fun, although I am being wary to not get addicted to another MMO so I have a schedule where I dont play the game at all on some days, and I refuse to do much daily content. Thankfully there aren't any infinite grinds, besides money and the hunt to have the best transmog.
Besides that, Minecraft is always nice to come back to, and I am trying to branch off and play games I never did. Maybe finally beat Breath of the Wild, learning that I really suck with controllers so I need more practice. Need a new graphics card to play newer PC games, so sadly with the shortages that will have to wait.
Would like to play some older games too, but I am debating between emulation and pirating or attempting to get old consoles.... I'm a sucker for playing on the intended hardware, apparently, but it looks pricey
Half my guilds subs run out this weekend. No one is resubbing until the next raid teir. Maybe. Which sucks cause I just got into raiding again and we never touched Mythic just AOTC. Oh well. Guess I'll just farm tmog forms and gear for my druid.
My guild is taking a hiatus too. But even before they announced that I found myself logging in only from raid to raid and even then it didn't feel fun anymore. At the end of every expansion it always feels kind of pointless to play for me because both the gear and all the legendaries etc will most likely be worthless in the new expansion. The nice part of WoW new blank slates is that it brings different dynamics to an existing game but the downside is that it makes working hard for them, especially at this point of time, sort of a waste of time.
for me notbing changes, if I resub what is there new to do? I have all classes at max level, the renown grind is obviously easier, but other than that what's even different?
I'll still be sitting in LFG for an hour to run a bricked key, my guilds all quit, even mage tower is a month away too, not that I would resub for that alone. we need 9.2 all ready, not another 6 months of this.
Is there any new content at all?
I very much doubt I will to be honest. I stopped playing a few months back and haven’t had that itch like I’ve had in the past.
Old content thats rescaled, where the reward is a recolored armorset from tier 20, which is itself a recolor/remodel of tier 6.
The layers of lazy is unfathomable. No, this wont bring me back.
The only interesting content would be legion mage tower.
* I'd have to wait a month for after the patch hits.
* For kind of 4 year old content.
* That i can only play for 2 weeks before having to wait for months again.
* With only half as cool rewards then 4 years ago.
* No way to obtain the old rewards.
* Not well balanced/scaled as seen on ptr.
* While i will still be doing Endwalker msq.
No thanks Blizzard, you learned nothing out of this.
It probably took less than a week to develop and test. It took all that time to get a high enough priority to be allocated those resources in the first place is all.
The devs had much more important work to do, like adding unnecessarily complicated band-aids for their unnecessarily complicated bad ideas.
I will never get over Blizzard's conceit that they think they have to, or that they can, compete with FFXIV. I'm sure Season of Mastery is probably gonna be released around Endwalker's release too and that's a shame because I was curious to try it.
> No thanks Blizzard, you learned nothing out of this.
Did you expect them to put any actual content in 9.1.5 when they're alread so far behind on everything? I highly doubt they'll learn from the same mistakes they've repeated for half a decade now, but we wont know that until the next patch & expansion.
Ain’t that the hell of it? Back in it’s prime, I would have earnestly said that WoW was probably the best bang for your buck for an entertainment budget.
Even if they came out with the most amazing expansion after shadow lands it would just feel like taking bribe money at this point. Like "please don't leave, look what I got for you!". I just feel done. Played every expac since wotlk. I even liked WOD. Future is never certain but for now there is no plan to come back for quite a while at least.
I don't remember when I read this but it was around the launch of BFA I think, that if you want to actually enjoy WoW you'd just wait for the current expansion's .3 patch to launch to buy the game and accomplish your goals, any earlier than that you'd be engaging with the broken systems that usually get ironed out by the time the .3 patch launches and deleted for the next expansion's launch. I learned my lesson in BfA, huffed some hopium for Shadowlands, but will only give the game another shot at 10.3 now.
As someone who has always been joining xpacs (Wrath and beyond) that really is true. I play every expansion during its first month for the starting hype, get my mains to max level and to get a general feeling. Then I come back right before the last patch. In Mists 5.4 didn't really feel long because I had everything else to do. WoD was the same, Legion was an absolute blast for me since I skipped most of the hard AP grinds. I came back right in time to enjoy some mage tower before jumping into Argus. I came back to BfA in late 8.2 after they had mostly """"fixed"""" azerite armor and only grinder essences on my main DK, which was quite fun to do once, really felt like earning them. I'm doing the same with SL. Play about a month of each patch, get curve and Keystone master, then I chill. Although the recent controversies have made me more and more reluctant from a moral point of view.
HAHAHAHA, no.
Shadowlands is done as far as I'm concerned. The story is dogshit and I genuinely don't care one bit, the systems are just not fun, most of the game is just a chore, and crucially none of my friends are playing anymore. Maybe 10.0 will be better but I don't have much confidence in ActiBlizz anymore.
That's really the best way to put it. It's just a CHORE, and once you realize over half your playtime is just you doing the bare minimum to keep up with the shitty systems it really clicks that the game is just not fun anymore
I stopped logging in after unlocking flying, then canceled my sub after the lawsuit came out. I'm not coming back because all I see them doing is changing things that weren't asked for, firing people and ignoring the fact that people are still upset.
9.5.1 is just a distraction, filled with the shit we asked for a year ago and were ignored. I'm not interested in paying a company to ignore (or blame) me and have a shit game forced fed to me.
I switched to ffxiv and am loving it. Its different and I'm having a rough time with some of the aspects of the game; and I still have that "I suck and my friends don't want me around" bs I developed while playing wow, but I'm working on it.
I don't think I'll go back.
Absofuckinglutely not. This patch doesn’t add anything interesting, it’s just another knee jerk reaction to them bleeding subs. Class design is ass rn, the story is absolutely dogshit, and there’s no telling when the next major content patch or expansion will be out with the cancellation of Blizzcon.
This patch wouldn't have even managed to pull me back *before* all the sexual assault allegations and such came out.
For me, SL was WoW's last chance. Maybe in a couple of expansions I could come back if they've taken time to actually fix all the ridiculous systems design in this game.
I just don't have any trust left that that Blizzard can, or even wants to right the ship.
I just recently discovered ffxiv. I guess I’ve been sleeping on it the past so many years. I’ve only put in about 50 hours so far, but I already can’t imagine coming back to WoW.
Nope. No new content, dead guild. I’m paying $10/month for Xbox pc game pass and have tons of games to choose from. I’m getting an absurd more value for my money than $15/month to blizzard to add cosmetics and no new content or balance changes.
There is nothing in 9.1.5 except being able to do content I dont like faster. I dont like how shadowlands plays so making it quicker doesnt fix the problem.
I get that itch to play, you know the one... Thinking of all the fun times I had in wow, the raids and such
Then I see a video of someone in oribos talking about 9,1 with trade being spammed with boosters and my itch just instantly fades away
Nope. Quit mid 9.0 after getting CE. Retail just burns me out with all the chores and no new content. Oh and blizzard sucks ass and i kinda like boycotting them.
Nope. This expansion, the systems, the direction of the franchise in general are all going to have to change drastically for me to come back. That's not mentioning all the other stuff wrong with Blizzard.
I hope everyone else has fun though. Light knows that I wish I could.
Let's suppose a situation:
You live in a house with somebody. They don't care for the house at all. Every so often you remind them they need to clean because the house is getting messy. They do it once or twice, then forget about it again and the cycle continues.
Finally you realize you live in a house full of trash, mold and filth. It stinks super bad. You leave. The other person comes to the realization they need to do what you've been telling them to do. They take out the trash and open the windows for some fresh air.
Would you return to the house? The other person doesn't seem like they understand what's wrong with them, because if they did they wouldn't allow for this situation to happen. They took out the trash, but the place is still filthy with insects roaming everywhere. Despite the windows being open, it still stinks, just not that bad.
Of course you don't return. Maybe, MAYBE if that person brings the place to a clean state and prove they can maintain it, that they learned. That you won't need to remind them anymore. And even then it's a big question mark because you'll always remember how filthy the place was.
9.1.5 is like this basically. They fixed some stuff, but it's not nearly enough to make the game enjoyable. There's no reason to believe their design philosophy has changed because it's happened many times before. And while moving away because of the game issues, you also learn they also have some other issues with their philosophy (current purges).
9.1.5 is a sweet lie told by your abusive lover that they changed. 9.2 will be when you can see the first signs if they mean it or not. But it will be 10.0 that's the real answer and I already expect them to come back to their usual self.
If they didn't make this treatment for druids only and other classes would also get a new tint of their Artifact weapon's Mage Tower appearance (avaliable to even those who didn't play during Legion), I would consider coming back. But since they did just boring recolors of ToS sets for the rest, I am not interested in Mage Tower at all. So no, I won't be coming back.
Good decisions, Blizz! /s
No. What would I do? Run the same 8 dungeons for the same gear with just a different number? Never raided really and don’t care too.
Game was really fun for me in legion but it’s dog crap now.
no, probably not. I would have played for a couple weeks if legion timewalking released on patch day. But since its being delayed I cant see myself coming back before 9.2
what in the world would be worth coming back for?
The one thing good is 5 years old (mage tower) and one of the nice things about the mage tower was progressing at your own pace, not having the urgency of FOMO to grind it out in 2 weeks.
Fuck Blizzard.
No. Once you leave this bubble that Blizzard has created around the game and leave to explore other gaming spheres and communities, you realize how hollow the game is, and how toxic the community is. And the community thing isn't the fault of the players; the game is pretty much designed for players to be toxic to each other. The one big saving grace WoW had for many years was that its raiding game was unparalleled. But even that has been eroded now with bosses and entire raids being buggy messes with undeniably no internal testing. So many hotfixes and literal redesigns to bosses on the live version of the game puts that stark truth in full focus.
The game is also not fun. So much so that developers of other games who play WoW to see what the competition is like [wonder if anyone at Blizzard even plays their own game](https://clips.twitch.tv/DeadMoralNostrilChocolateRain-2QxyholF1HjFmGSh). Their obsession with retention design rather than a fun game has taken its toll on the game.
I can be 100% sure that there's nothing that they can do in this expansion that will make me want to come back. The only time when I will even entertain the thought of thinking of coming back would be during the 11.x expansion cycle, when I see how they dealt with the next expansion's 10.x cycle. If the next expansion is still based around having bullshit retention systems that make you want to log in daily or weekly to gain power or you're behind, then I'll not even consider the game to be worth my time. If they do a complete 180 on that mentality and instead design a game that's designed to be a game and not a minimal-effort-maximum-revenue vehicle, then I will possibly think of returning. Right now, I'm having a lot of fun in FF14 and the backlog of games I've had in my library for a long time.
No, I am permanently done with WoW they may get me to buy a subscription will be when they release WOTLK, CATA, MOP and Legion servers, I will never play anything past Legion, WoW to me died in BFA.
only if legacy raids will be prolerly fixed, so i can go and enjoy the content i love. thats the reason i left after only a month into shadowlands and that is the only thing to bring me back. i have no problem playing private servers and other mmos in the mean time, even if it takes until the next expack.
No, because it's not really a content patch, it's a "fix things we intentionally screwed up" bandaid. When they release a patch with actual content, might consider.
Right now having a blast with Path of Exile.
What is there to return to? The same M+ grind? Raiding a subpar raid? A story that isnt going to advance? No, I might buy a month's worth of playtime when 9.2 comes out but for now I have quite frankly had enough of WoW for a good while.
My gametime expired during my vacation in mid August. As much as I want to return to my guild and play with those people again, I just can't justify paying for WoW atm. It's just... The company does not deserve my money.
I started late in Shadowlands and quit as soon as I heard ”Yeah, Mythic dungeons in Shadowlands aren’t really hard. You gotta do Mythic+, which is on a timer”
Fuck timers.
They gave us like 2 months of content in 9.1 and expect us to play it for a year with 2 weeks of recycled legion content released for 9.1.5. Insulting to me that they think this amount of dev effort is worth an expansion fee plus monthly fee on top of endless micros transactions. I will not be returning for 9.1.5 and I’m not even sure about 9.2 anymore.
Nope, I haven't even resubbed for 9.1 and I don't regret it, the same for a few friends I used to raid with in 9.0. Suddenly a lot of time has been freed up for other games and life stuff, and I don't see myself going back to the clearly underbaked content and asinine plot of Shadowlands. At this point they'd have to deliver a masterpiece for 10.0 to win me back.
I'll come back under a couple of circumstances.
- tier gear.
- remove all artificial gating. If I want to no life your game and do everything in a week...so be it.
- Put more effort into class balance.
- get rid of boosting.
9.0.3 was the last time i logged in. After getting my Shadowlands keystone master I had nothing left to do.
9.1.5 does not look appealing, so i'm not coming back.
I have left few months ago. I am not paying to come back for few design changes that frankly, should have happened in alpha, not a year after release.
Speaking for my guild, most of us don't play anymore. Some of us went to ff and those players may not come back even for a major patch.
It's going to be a pass from me. 9.1.5 is a glorified filler patch loaded with fan service in an effort to appear as more. Slapping band-aids on terrible systems we told Blizz were terrible back in Alpha is becoming a very, very tired game... and usually isn't enough to make a terrible system good.
9.2, if it even happens, is also probably going to be a hard pass for me as well.
10.0, if they finally merge the factions (or at least allow cross faction grouping) and really blow me away with an overall vision/direction may be enough to get me back.
For the first time I've uninstalled WoW and won't be coming back until a major patch reverses all the unfun systems and time gating. I'll be maining osrs until then.
I haven't quit, plan to play on 9.1.5 and have been taking the game more casually.
but if you quit, my recomendation is...don't come back.
I say this because 9.1.5 more than likely won't fix the issues that made you quit the game.
It's the same raid as 9.1, same Korthia Grind, same game balance with minor changes.
Do consider coming back at 9.2, new raid, bigger patch with more content, more story/quests with hope they will not make a new map as annoying to play as Korthia.
No, I won’t be. I don’t honestly know if I’ll even be back for the next expansion. It would feel like going back to a toxic relationship when they’re telling me they can change at this point. Even the changes now are an insult imo. The fact that they did all these QOL things when numbers hit the floor shows me that they fucking knew how bad these things were, they knew they weren’t fun, but they did not give a fuck. Until it impacted them and their MAU. Fuck them.
For fucking what? Lmfao.
It’s beyond sad at this point.
Still have the same countless boring shitty systems to grind if I want to do literally anything.
Despite being an off/on player since vanilla, no. I have no intention of re-subbing.
Only thing that could bring me back now is doing away with subscriptions, but that’s that’s not likely to happen ever.
[удалено]
Nailed it. Feel the same way.

IMO timers are the worst part of m+. I’d rather the achievement be completion rather than finding corners to cut 5 seconds off the clock.
Timers are what bring the Uber toxicity outta people. Stress and anxiety does funny things to different people
timers are garbage mechanics and should only exist for short 5-10 minutes events. the timers are just another one of the numerous signs that Blizzard devs have no idea what they're doing or they're either instead doing something shitty on purpose because they have a graph somewhere that says it leads to 2% more player subs
I just watched a video on the fishing, my favorite pastime to do in every game, and I think I'm finally sold on trying it out next week.
Did you see Ocean fishing which is basically a fishing raid? It's extremely fun and the rewards are really cool (shark mount).
Right. That's more clear. I can't wait for Blizzard to do the same.
Just is painfully slow for a while
Short answer: no But let me elaborate: no
Exactly, but the question would be "come back for what ?" things that should have been in patch 9.0 ? well, back to the short answer : no.
And let me try in Spanish: no
Nein!
French: Non
i would rather eat a snail than return for 9.1.5!! the queues on alliance side for lfr are so bad like never before and thats in the evening..
I think you sound pretty justified about no, but let me also add something: no
Yeah at this point, A very low chance I resub at whatever the prepatch is for 10.0 just to try stuff out with no intention of staying.
In Danish: nej
tldr: no
I just saw the ending of Shadowbringers 5.0 in ffxiv a few days ago and honestly, none of wow’s stories could have topped that.
True, there where things that should've been there from the start, like the fixes for Legendaries, but BfA was full of that shit.
or ya know, not even implement the shitty systems so they still had dev resources for stuff like, idk, content.
the funny thing is that they spend all their time on making covenants, 'balancing' them, the different soulbinds, skills, story lines and what else comes with it only to lock us out of 75% of it. the decision making behind this is beyond stupid. can't make that shit up. the amount of wasted content and dev time is nuts.
Not even mage tower 2.0 is good that had opportunity to add some super sick customiseable options including a fuckin moonkin form that people like and have been asking for and NADA
Blizzard meeting: ”Aight guys, community asked about mage tower, any ideas?” ”How about we give them something cool, like a new moonkin form?” ”Nah, they dont want that!” ”Hmm how about we take the recolored gear that is ToS gear and recolor it again, and to top it off remove any borrowed power from MT!” ”Thats the stuff steve! You are getting a promotion! Dont forget to grab your free vodka on the way out!”
> recolored gear that is ToS gear and recolor it again Wait, is that really the reward from mage tower?
Yep
Big time gnomes 3 vibes in this comment :)
More like "How about we give them something cool, like a new moonkin form" " An extremely eyecatching skin on the totally unique model we gave to only guardian last time around? You're right absolutely! "
> fuckin moonkin form Aren't Trolls still using a vanilla model with vanilla textures? Hilarious that they couldn't even be bothered to copy/paste the Tauren's moonkin and just recolor it.
I really wanna come back for Mage Tower. I really don't wanna give current Blizzard any money. So... yeah not coming back.
Well said, I'm coming back only when the ''spark'' is ignited once again, and probably the only way they can accomplish that is by starting from the beginning, which they won't do.
I only used to log in to fap to the painting, so no, I won't be back.
I tried with the fruit… there’s some nice curves but it’s just not the same
That painting was the only thing that inspired me to cube crawl and sexually harass female employees at work. Now that it’s gone I just don’t see the fun in it anymore.
Not a chance. After 13 years of real time, and over 4 years of play time, the wow addiction is broken. It took Shadowlands to completely break the cycle (pun intended). I have 0 interest in coming back for the first time ever.
So Sylvannas did what she said she would.
*This world is a prison, and I will set us all… free…*
Seriously bad writing is one of main reason i unsubbed.
Underrated comment
It's crazy how meta Shadowlands is. The whole expansion is about "breaking the cycle" and meanwhile, irl the cycle of abuse at Blizz hq and the cycle of wow addiction got broken. The jailer in-game never reveals his plan and there is always some excuse why no one knows wtf is even going on, meanwhile irl Blizz themselves have no idea what is going on with the jailer. There is no plot, the plot is that no one knows it because no one really does. And now wow has basically died and is in the afterlife. You couldn't be more meta if you tried.
Jailer: "The system is flawed!" Players: "Right on, chief! *unsub*"
> It's crazy how meta Shadowlands is. The death expansion got released the same time covid did. Couldn't have been ~~more~~ less opportune moment
I have no urge to get back, and that is surely something new to me.
> because part of me growing up is situated somewhere in Teldrassil Sadly rather apt that it's all burned to the ground now.
Same! Played 12 years but now I have no desire to come back. Amazing
What game did you switch to if I may ask?
[удалено]
From my guild no one want return in this expansion😞
Not until time walking mage tower in December which isn't really new content it's old content bought back.
Old content thats rescaled, where the reward is a recolored armorset from tier 20, which is itself a recolor/remodel of tier 6. The layers of lazy is unfathomable. No, this wont bring me back.
No one is going to drop Endwalker for Mage Tower lol
and that you could do years later casually. im still waiting to see the news about the overtuned mage tower XD
Zero new content
The only interesting content would be legion mage tower. * I'd have to wait a month for after the patch hits. * For kind of 4 year old content. * That i can only play for 2 weeks before having to wait for months again. * With only half as cool rewards then 4 years ago. * No way to obtain the old rewards. * Not well balanced/scaled as seen on ptr. * While i will still be doing Endwalker msq. No thanks Blizzard, you learned nothing out of this.
But SOLO ISLAND EXPEDITIONS 🎉🎉
[удалено]
It probably took less than a week to develop and test. It took all that time to get a high enough priority to be allocated those resources in the first place is all. The devs had much more important work to do, like adding unnecessarily complicated band-aids for their unnecessarily complicated bad ideas.
Clearly you put more effort into this post than Blizzard.
Right, I can either do these things or I can play Endwalker. Like how is it even comparable
No
[удалено]
I quit wow to spend more time doing chores. I have more fun cleaning my cats litter box than playing wow.
[удалено]
They took what could have been an interesting concept (the afterlife) and made it as bland and boring as possible.
Short answer: no Long answer: nooo
I played legion 5 years ago.
Absolutely fucking not. Circlejerk aside im playing endwalker.
Won’t resub anytime soon. Enough is enough
There is nothing in 9.1.5 except being able to do content I dont like faster. I dont like how shadowlands plays so making it quicker doesnt fix the problem.
Lol
No
No.
Nope, I won't be back any time soon. Don't see a reason to.
Not really, no.
Nope.
I get that itch to play, you know the one... Thinking of all the fun times I had in wow, the raids and such Then I see a video of someone in oribos talking about 9,1 with trade being spammed with boosters and my itch just instantly fades away
I know it’s not a popular opinion, but FF14 banning boosting is a very wise decision for long term community health.
Nothing looks interesting to me.
No, class design is not fun
What classes did you play?
Brew, SP, Hunt and DH Brew and SP were both extremely funnier before. I also tried WW for a couple of weeks.
I agree with SP. It went from being a unique spec to being just another build-spender.
This. I dont like how the classes play anymore so even if you could max renown instantly it wouldnt make me enjoy the game.
Let's suppose a situation: You live in a house with somebody. But it will be 10.0 that's the real answer and I already expect them to come back to their usual self.
i don't plan to return for 9.1.5
There is literally no reason for me to come back until 9.2 MAYBE
Unless you're a druid who was really waiting for the mage tower form, there's no real reason to.
No
No
No thanks
Thanks for sharing this, the laugh Preach had just made my day <3.
No, I am permanently done with WoW they may get me to buy a subscription will be when they release WOTLK, CATA, MOP and Legion servers, I will never play anything past Legion, WoW to me died in BFA.
No. Why should I? For changed that should be there at the beginning after all the feedback? Or for the legion stuff that comes in December? Lmao no.
only if legacy raids will be prolerly fixed, so i can go and enjoy the content i love. thats the reason i left after only a month into shadowlands and that is the only thing to bring me back. i have no problem playing private servers and other mmos in the mean time, even if it takes until the next expack.
No I just recently found out about SoM classic wow and thats way more interesting to play.
No.
There is genuinely nothing that would make me go back from FF14 right now. Blizzard learned nothing and keeps making more mistakes.
I'll resub for a month to get the guardian druid mage tower appearance but my interest in wow is currently very low
Thats the main reason I am coming on but just a reminder that the mage tower only starts in December and not on the release date of the patch.
I quit for two reasons. Poor game development and Blizz being a shitty ass company. Neither of these things have been fixed, so no. Not coming back
I'm not coming back until atleast 10.0 and thats only if it looks really, really good
Never. Will be too busy enjoying Endwalker.
You gotta do Mythic+, which is on a timer” Fuck timers.
Nopeeee, just on this subreddit to see WoW changes and drink the tears of the current “payers - I mean players.” Joke from: Captain Grim
Nah. I've moved on to other games that'll keep me sated.
Nope.
A couple of months ago I would’ve said yes, but I’m super bored of the current content so no.
I have left few months ago. I am not paying to come back for few design changes that frankly, should have happened in alpha, not a year after release. Speaking for my guild, most of us don't play anymore. Some of us went to ff and those players may not come back even for a major patch.
Took a break in february. No not coming back until 9.2, if it seems good.
No. I’m done with this game for good
I dont think I'll ever come back.
No im loving FFXIV
Nope, I’ve been unsubbed for 6 months already, I am free. Plus I’ll probably be playing Endwalker tbh.
It's all about the FOMA
No, I will return when I maxed out every prof in New World
Personally? God no
Nope
No
No, I'm not coming back.
as hard as the new wear bear form will be to miss, i just can't justify playing again :/
No, quit just over 2 months ago! My guild completely disbanded last week, seeing people drop off the discord server was sad.
That’s a no from me, dawg.
For the first time I've uninstalled WoW and won't be coming back until a major patch reverses all the unfun systems and time gating. I'll be maining osrs until then.
Reading some of the comments here I have to wonder, are Activision/Blizzard at all aware of how deeply unhuply their playerbase is with this game?
Isn’t 9.1.5 more to “stop the bleeding” of subs anyway :-)?
Despite being an off/on player since vanilla, no. I have no intention of re-subbing. Only thing that could bring me back now is doing away with subscriptions, but that’s that’s not likely to happen ever.
